The resort is beautiful. Was so nice to relax and use the pool and room service. The music outside the room however played all day and into the night - it was loud and repetitive lift music that did not aid in relaxation. The spa was amazing! Reception tried to charge us 2500 rupees for a taxi to the airport, when the standard is 1200 rupees.

Soul Vacations experience Dec 2022

Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant staff were serving with a smile. Surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. Pool and surroundings were well maintained and clean. The staff was very attentive, courteous, and always ready to help.
Colva beach is a five minute walk away.
This is an excellent place to stay.
The only negative experiences we had were with mosquitoes and when the air-conditioning stopped working half way during our stay and couldn't be repaired. Thankfully the fan was working so we could manage the unusually hot weather. The spray/fogging that the hotel carries out is not sufficient to eliminate the mosquitoes.
We did not use the Spa or Ayurveda facilities so I cannot comment on them.

Disappointing stay in Goa

Very disappointing for our holidays in Goa. The room was horrible, the water from commode was leaking. After complaints also the reception doesn’t like to change the room. The front desk person was lying no room available. But I found nearby room empty, after letting know the front desk person was hesitating to give the room. As I complained to Hotels.com virtually and in fact I told them I have no options but to leave the hotel. Finally we just moved to the other room which was relatively better. Nothing is good, we went to the restaurant on first night was full of mosquitoes. The overs conditions of the property is old and not at all good.

Second time staying here staff was extremely helpful with a slight issue we was having with our wifi connection and moved us to another room where we could get a better connection. It's locally central with 2 minutes walk from the beach. I recommend the luxury room over the deluxe , we stayed in both but found this one more spacious and comfortable.

Surprise - here I will give my soul a vacation

I was surprised when entering the hotel, surely I will give my soul a vacation here - was my first thought. My room was spacious, lovely interieur and bright. The bathroom was accessed by wing door, warm marmor/sandstone was the main material, acompanyied by modern mountings. The rainfall shower back from the beach or the pool...herrlich! Towels and roomservice daily.

The menu of the hotels restaurant gave an insight into local cuisine, but shurely one will visit some of the nearby restaurants and places. Bar and restaurant open till 23.oo, after that was nachtruhe - time for relaxing the soul. Strengthen it up again with a breakfast, for me personaly not before 9.oo ;)

It took me only 10 minutes walk accessing the beach, and there are many, and very beautiful ones there, more appreciable then the North Goans to me.

The hotel staff was very pleased to be in assistance: describing me the way to the local post office, arranging a tour with a riksha or my airport dropoff havent been a problem for them.

The service at Soul was truly exceptional! All of the staff was super super nice and helpful and went out of the way to accommodate us. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the food. The breakfast and also other meals that we had: the food quality and taste was very poor. The spa was really good: they have a limited list of services but they are done well and are well priced. I did get some skin irritation after the full body scrub so would be good if they had used better quality products but overall would definitely go back. Also wi-fi did not work for our entire stay and there was very poor network where our rooms were so that definitely needs improvement.

I have had an excellent time at Soul Vacation hotel. All the staff where very friendly and helpful, at times they went above and beyond what is expected of them. The room I stayed in was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The food was exceptional, highly recommended was the Red Snapper, which is fresh.

Worst Nightmare - Hard to find the hotel.

The hotel is hard to find and when we finally reached the hotel the staff ran away saying that we need to call a number to check in. When we called the phone number no one picked up the phone. After an hour we looked for another hotel and checked ourselves in. Went back the next day and the same thing happened. Will never recommend this to anyone.

We enjoyed Goa very much but the property is not upto par. The rooms have mould and bacteria and is highly avoidable for sensitive people and kids especially. They smell very badly and the management knows this. They spray a large amount of room fresher to hide this smell.

The rooms are old, run down and lack comfort. For the price paid we expected much much more.

The location is inconvenient and not at all close to any nice beach.

I would personally never stay with them again and choose a better place for the same price.

Nice hotel for Goa Stay

We stayed here for 2 nights and found this hotel is a real good deal for stay near a beach. It allows you to enjoy the beach as well as the hotel with feels like a holiday in itself. Positives: The staff is nice, restaurant is nice just a bit slow but who cares on a holiday, walkable to the beach, hotel has a compound for added safety from outside.
Cons: Not much negative about the hotel, they just couldnt find a taxi for us for return I guess they can improve on this. But be very very careful with the commercial touts outside the hotel and nearer the beach, bike hire from there is a NO NO as all hirers there are a same group and they will intimate you and treat u like a dog. Do not hire from the bike hirer which is few doors from the hotel, he is a real bad dealer. These people near the colva beach are shame on goa but if you stay away from them you should be fine.

Not a 'value-for-money' place

We stayed 2 nights in Dec 2015 and expected a far better room at Rs. 6000/- a night. The proximity of the hotel to the beach is good but that's about it; we had to keep the curtains closed since it wasn't really pleasing outside by the road.
The room structure seemed very fragile although the beds and furniture were good.
Breakfast was fine; the hotel should promote spa facilities if that's what they consider that a value proposition for/with their property. Come what may, I am definitely not spending that much on this place to stay there again!

Lovely small hotel in central colva village

This was one of our favourite hotels in Goa .Firstly it caters well for European guests.THe food was excellent.THe curries superb and the tiger prawns to die for, all reasonably priced.infact all restaurants in colva were the best overall food we had in Goa.The room we had was clean.Tge bed was big and comfy.The bathroom was a little dated but worked fine.The pool was small but had sun beds and big day beds( great for those who like shade) .it had a small garden where u can have a coffee or food.tHey had a spa.i had a massage which was good but the building was like a old shed, so u had nowhere to chill after ur massage with a tea and some scented candles after.overall we loved this place.Staff were always smiling and helpful.bEach was three mins walk so we're restaurants and shops.lovely safe ambiance .ps left my Goa books in the room by mistake if anyone wants to have a read (lol)

Nice hotel for middle of the road traveller .it has a basic but clean hotel with a very comfortable bed with air con.clean small pool with sun loungers and day beds.lovely restaurant on site with very good food.curries are excellent so was the grilled prawns at good prices.beach is two minute walk away so are the shops and restaurants.pre paid taxi from airport was 700 rupees (£7.00)

every thing you pay !

I hope to stay 4 days in this place but when i arrive bad reception . This hotel is among the most expensive in Colva and even Wifi is paying !.... 600 roupies a day ...the connection was impossible whith my Ipad which greatky upset the staff !

So one night was enough and i stay beside in the charming Skylark resort offers a swimming pool and free wifi
correct rooms as a price divided by 2 and especially a verywelcoming ....a recommendation

I recommend every one not to even see for this hotel. The rates are very high compared to their amenities. This hotel is like an old villa with poor furnitures. You can get a lot better hotels with same price in goa. The location is very poor. Go at your own risk in order to make your trip a disaster.

My wife, son and I stayed at the Soul Vacation for 3 days mid June 2014. The hotel is very well located in Colva - about 5-7 minutes walk to the beach. Breakfasts at the hotel were nice - appropriate for a hotel of this size. We took a kind of a suite - 2 bedrooms with a common bathroom and a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. It was very peaceful. The swimming pool is small but was ok if one wants to take a swim in the afternoon, which is what my son did and enjoyed. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The only negative is poor wifi. We bought a 24-hour account which we could use on only one device (a laptop) - it was a slow connection. But this was a small minus in our otherwise lovable, laid-back stay. We'd love to go back and stay there.

Cleaning left a lot to be desitred

Room was quoted as' luxury' - this is stretching the meaning of the word - terrace doesn't mean a terrace it means a path outside the room - no chairs or table. Room smelt musty/damp. Breakfast mats on tables filthy never saw anyone clean the tables, rooms were cleaned in minutes!

Nice quiet hotel located 5 minutes walk from Colva beach.
Large rooms and bathrooms surrounding a swimming pool (but the water did not look crystalline!!) and a lush garden.
Breakfast is not great.
Check-in is very long and cumbersome: staff is not very smiling.

We were really excited to go and stay at this hotel. We chose to go to Colva just to be here. When we arrived they said they gave us the luxury room instead of a deluxe but the luxury was completely missing. It was quite disappointing right from the reception where it feels more like a hospital than a Hotel. The room was big but things were really old like the lamps and tv. The TV was really old and almost no paid channels were subscribed. The bathroom was big but missing basic amenities like a hair dryer. The room was not very clean. We saw a lizard as soon as we entered. One frame fell off. The shower was leaking and the flush wasn't working. So all in not impressed at all. They have tried to do a lot of things but nothing is done properly or maintained well. The hotel surrounding looks nothing like pictures. It's really small and different compared to the pictures. Don't be fooled !

Memorable Stay!! Awesome must go place 4vacation

I celebrated my engagement here on 18th Sept'13. We were 2 families with 4 rooms booked(2 luxury and 2 deluxe)..
I have one word to say this is a perfect place for vacations specially when you are with family and looking for a decent place with all the amnesties! Rooms were clean and maintained well.. Staff is very nice and friendly. Manager Rajesh Ranjan and Shiva made me feel home.Cheers to both!! It was raining cats and dogs for 3 days and I had function in the evening and I wanted it near poolside.. The staff arranged everything so well in no time I was speechless :)

please avoid this resort

the property was small, it was far from to be considered as resort. everything in room was old & in bad condition. the paint, furniture,plumbing.
meal was expensive so we preferred eating outside. 2 things bothered us very much. 1. inadequate lighting (you can not read a thing even if u sit at reading table) 2. dampness (the whole room was stinking like it was abandoned for a while).

if in colva, stay at soul vacation

hotel is very nice. stayed there from 25th May to 28th May 2013. Great value for money. Has all the amenities that one would look for in a big 4 or 5 star hotel. I must also mention that i really liked the food at the restaurant. The quality of the food was delicious. much better than some of the beach shacks at colva beach. i just loved the food at Soul vacation hotel, and so did my family. hotel service was very good and staff were very cordial. the only think i didn't like was Colva beach. too crowded and this hotel is about 5 mins walk from Colva beach. i liked Benaulim beach more than Colva. but since i had my own car, it didn't bother me much as i could drive to benaulim beach everyday. all in all, the hotel is a lovely place to stay and eat. but stay away from colva beach, visit benaulim beach if you prefer fewer crowd.

A good family holiday

I recently visited this resort and was quite happy with it, Though its but priced highly as its neighborhood. Below are some thing i want to share; Food was good, though bit highly priced than others, Have to wait for 45 min for the food arrival., Rooms were clean, neat and pool was clean neat and enjoyed the colva beach just 5 min walk from here. I suggest for those want to enjoy royally, add some more and enjoy in Taj thats the best in south goa.

Location

The staff and service were great. The hotel is old,showing it's age and is in need of an update/refurbish. The location is abysmal!! We have to walk past an open sewer and garbage dump to get to the beach and restaurants, there is always traffic and lots of crowds on the 10 minute walk to the beach. The beach is a bit crowded in town but a few minutes walk gets you away to enjoy the wonderful and beautiful beaches of Goa.

Do not judge a hotel by its photos

Don't let photos or fancy names deceive you, this hotel is dreadful!! Their 24-hour reception sleeps in the foyer, hot water doesn't run everyday, reception staff lie to you and try to rip you off with cab-hire charges so that their mates can make a quick buck! very unhelpful staff and horribly unclean conditions!

Stay @ soul vacation was memorable. The food at the restaurant was really good. very good ambiance. The spa was also good with all then natural therapies. very near to colva beach, but far away from other tourist destinations.Fort aguada is 60 km from here. but if you want to spend a peaceful and blissful vacation , soul is the perfect choice.

The pictures lie, this place is a dump

This hotel is in total disrepair. The cabanas and loungers at the pool are rotting, the cushions that goes on these are soaked through and rotting. The roofs leak, and the whole place is filthy. The pool water was dirty, and the pool had innumerable missing and chipped tiles. The food was decent and tasty, and prepared in accordance with warnings that it would be slow. The gymnasium is pointless, and the jacuzzi was non functioning while we were there. Front desk staff were beyond useless. Twice they failed to note our departure time, and then we had to wake them from sleeping on couches in the reception area when departure time came. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. A number of guests there during this week checked out early due to condition of this hotel. Although one can provide a little leeway due to this being nearly the end of monsoon season, there were plenty of properties in Colva beach that were clean and inviting.

After 10 days around Delhi, Agra etc our trip to Goa was a welcome relief and change of pace The hotel grounds are beautiful, the pool is nice and the hotel rooms are well appointed, large and comfy. I would recommend this hotel.
Some minor issues eg around the mini bar not getting re-stocked each day but overall a nice relaxing stay. Good value too.

Soul Vacation Resorts. Not Well Kept.

It looked great on the photos but we ended up having a big surprise when we landed up there. The resort looked tired, unkept and dirty. Though the staff was friendly and courteous, the resort had a negative vibe, the way it was kept. Our room had an unimaginative design, with the TV right in the middle of the room! The pool water was green in colour and was completely uninviting! It was like they were not bothered about tourists coming in the slow season and were only interested in the peak season traffic.

The games room looked like it was not visited for months. We had to clear it to play carrom.

The only silver lining was the food at the hotel. It was really sumptuous. I would recommend staying away from the hotel.

I can highly recommed this lovely, well thought out haven in Goa. Staff are lovely and were particularly kind and attentive to us, having been stranded in India by the volcanic eruption. The manager is omnipresent and has good relations with his staff hence the hotel has a really harmonious feel. Food was lovely and our room spacious, clean and very comfortable.
I can highly recommend. Also 5 min walk from beach and huge choice of beach restaurants to choose from, though Soul menu excellent!

After being stranded in Mumbai by the icelandic volcano in April 2010 - Goa was an unexpected visit. Soul Vacation was a relaxing, clean retreat with gorgeous staff & great value food. We read reports on trip advisor before booking & were not dissappointed. Highlights included lying on cream cabanas listending to chilled out poolside tunes, spacious clean rooms, virgin mojitos & yummy butter paper prawns. Oh and a candlelit bar in the evening. I would recommend this place to anyone. Zig.
