Why stay at the Granada Beach resort? It’s in a fairly secluded and beautiful location. It has a private beach that is surrounded by a coral reef. Just walk down to the water’s edge and the reef starts right there. It’s a beautiful place to snorkel and when the water is clear and calm you can see tons of different fish, corals, and the odd sea turtle or octopus.
The view from the upper floor is amazing you can see the sunrise in the bay from here. The food is very good and there are options for most everyone. They have a well stocked bar and wine list is good. There is a pool right on the property for those days when the tides are strong. You can book excursions from here that includes transportation-which is great. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the main road (highway), but is a bit difficult at night no street lights so walk with a flashlight or phone as there are a few hills to walk up to the property. There are few mosquitoes and there are lots of ants. There are skinks that live on site and they are great for keeping pests away. We had a little buddy that stayed in our room for almost a week hiding by the bedside shelf near the wifi router. It is a great place to unwind and relax. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. They helped is with info on transportation for our day trips to Dumaguete or Cebu City. The messages were great and released a lot of my tension and muscle knots. I would definitely recommend Granada Beach Resort.

Personalized service provided by all staff members and quality of food was excellent. Boutique hotel size with a beautiful terrace and a private beach. A few steps from the beach is the house reef which is perfect for snorkeling. The massage service was great and the location out of this world. We arrived after a long flight and needed a place to acclimate and to rest and are more than happy to have selected this hotel. The hotel does offer tours in the area. In a world of hotel chains this unique hotel is a refreshing option and a great value for the product offered.

Lovely area if you are looking for an isolated quiet resort. Andy, Lilly, joy and Kate were great hosts. The food in the restaurant was good and plentiful. The room was very cute and clean. Very very small resort.

There are only a few chairs around the pool and they not the best and may need some tlc. The towels were a little tattered and had holes in them. The sheets on the bed do not cover the mattress. If you move, they come right off. Sheets that cover the mattress would be much better.

Snorkels and masks were complimentary which was nice. However the house reef now is not what other guests have described. Although there is nice coral, there are very few fish.

We took a walk down the road and it was nice to meet the children and locals. Oslob is nearby if you want to swim with the whale sharks.

Good place for a short stay.

We stayed at Granada for our Honeymoon, we are a couple in our 30s and here is the truth about Granada:
First of all, a couple of “reality points when choosing a hotel: do your research, google maps says 2hrs from Cebu City, but please realize you will not be driving in speedways, so just know it’s more like 3.5 hrs. Also, please note Granada is located 15 minutes from Oslob, this is perfect distance so you can enjoy some peace at night. I am not a paid reviewer or a paid actor, everything you’ll read below is the truth.

1- STAFF: Granada is a 3/4 star hotel with the staff of a 10 star hotel. Everyone has a genuine smile on their face, everyone takes their time to say hello and are willing to help with any question you may have. We truly enjoyed the service of Aylin and the other coworkers at the restaurant/bar,,, well done ladies! Also, this is probably the only hotel I’ve been to where the Hotel Operator/Manager is on site making sure every guest is having a perfect time, if you are lucky enough to meet the Manager “Andy” you won’t regret a short conversation with him. Truly an interesting man with a lot of pasión to make sure every guest has a great stay.

2- FOOD & DRINKS: Every dish was incredible, breakfast lunch and dinner always amazing. The cocktails were great and the local beer is only $1 dollar!!! Most importantly, all their ice and drinking water is mineral water, so no need to worry about getting stomach sick.

Our stay Granada was brilliant. The room was lovely and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The staff were helpful in identifying vegan options for us. The food and drinks were very good price also.

We did some tours from the resort and although you might find it slightly cheaper elsewhere I would recommend doing it direct with them. They make the process so easy the and driver is happy to help you other places after you tour.

The location is lush and the staff are all brilliant here and make the stay what it is.

This place was an absolute gem! 💎 Totally my style - secluded, chill, and with those awesome bungalow vibes. Finding it was a bit of an adventure (thank goodness for GPS!), but SO worth it. The whole atmosphere just screamed \"relax,\" especially those private beaches! The staff were the best - super friendly and made me feel right at home. Oh, and the food? Amazing. Especially with those draft beers! 🍻 Loved exploring the walking paths and the forest too. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a secluded private holiday.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are the nicest people you will find anywhere. Room was very nice and aircon was so nice on the warmer days, the local staff set me up with the local motorcycle rental place so I could get around at my own pace, but the local public transport system is great as well. Only thing that I didn’t expect was only solar heated hot water so sometimes a cold shower and no fridge or tv in the room, but honestly that really wasn’t an issue and if you ask the staff for a bucket of ice they are more than happy to help. Me and my fiancé loved it and hope to return.

We reserved the nicest room on the property, and the lighting was so bad we could barely see. Bugs in the room. No TV/radio and internet was randomly available. Only food option closes very early. Very cold showers due to only 3-4 minutes of hot water. Upon returning from day trip to much nicer resort, our room had not been cleaned. Refused to clean or even replace linens. Did not offer a replacement room. Owner told us we were free to leave so we packed our bags and set out to nicer location, but while leaving owner refused to refund for second night. I've traveled all over the world and have never paid so much for so little and be treated so poorly. DEFINITELY DO NOT BOOK HERE!

The view is beautiful and if you want to just relax and unwind.. stay here . We also like the food from their restaurant. The fish and chips were crispy and yummy. A great break at a beautiful hotel

We had a wonderful six night break at Granada Beach. The hotel is small enough that it doesn’t feel crowded, set on a beautiful hillside overlooking the sea with a fabulous private beach.

The staff are all lovely and help to make the resort a relaxing, stress free getaway from a hectic lifestyle - nothing is ever too much trouble. Mike and Liza are great managers and Granada Beach is in safe hands.

Food is locally sourced, tasty and very reasonably priced.

The tours are also great and I appreciate they go out of their way to try to avoid places that are too touristy, or beat the crowds if they are.

If there is anything to improve, some of the facilities are a touch dated. For example, the showers are okay, but it would great to install a rainfall shower or similar. And some parasols by the pool to create some shade would be a good idea - the sun is very intense!

Also for the keen gym goer, it would be lovely if they could build a small gym with weights so guests can burn off the extra calories from the delicious food!

We would be happy to pay a bit more per night to fund the updates, and will be sure to return in the not too distant future.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing hotel then this is the place for you! Facilities are spotlessly clean and in very good repair. Grounds are well kept and pool is very pleasant as is the private beach. As others have commented food is of good quality and the menu rotates every three days or so. If you want adventure then tours can be booked from the hotel, swimming with whale sharks, hiking, waterfalls etc. We did not do any of the tours but speaking with guests that did, they seemed happy. There is a small fishing village nearby and a slightly larger town about 15 mins away by bus or motorcycle. This area is not touristy so don’t expect any amenities outside of the resort except motorcycle hire. The staff are friendly and helpful. A very relaxing place to stay and the scenery is lovely.

This is a wonderful property for the price. We visited in the low season. As other guests have commented, the tours are fantastic. I consider the staff to be among the friendliest I’ve met - they are full of warm smiles & lots of laughter. The snorkeling from their beach is fabulous. A lot better than what I observed off Mactan Island. Be sure to wear footwear, though, as the rocks are sharp as you wade to sufficiently deep water to swim.
If I come back to the Oslob area, there is NOWHERE ELSE I would even consider staying. This place is fantastic.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We didn't leave the property the entire time and we didn't need to - the reef off the beach was fantastic and we saw so many turtles!
The room was very spacious, the food was excellent and big portions. The pool was great and vert warm. All of the staff were amazing and so friendly.
We noticed a little wear and tear in the curtains in our room, and if the place had a few WiFi boosters (to reach the rooms better) and a screen in the room for watching downloaded films then in our opinion this place would deserve to be a 5* resort.

AMAZING!!! It's like having your own piece of paradise! And with only 9 rooms, this small, private resort will never be crowded. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, the tour guides are friendly and make every adventure fun! The pool is immaculate. You can get a relaxing massage in a little bamboo hut overlooking the water, listening to the waves lap onto the beach. You get to eat meals outside on the covered patio while looking out at the incredible water view and listening to nature. (No blaring music here!) If you want quiet, peaceful, relaxing evenings after their fun-filled day tours, Granada Beach Resort is it!

Location was a little bit of a hike (10 mins) from the main road, so aim to arrive during daylight. Resort is very well maintained and upkept, except hot tub as not in use while we were there. Pool is well maintained you can swim anytime of day. Lounge area is nice with a few shaded areas. Restaurant area overlooks ocean and is very nice. Restaurant food was OK, they are trying to improve the food but we found it fine, except often orders were wrong due to employees not writing down the orders. We never complained but it was a bit frustrating. Breakfasts were very nice, lunch menu was standard and stayed the same and dinner menu changed daily which was nice because there isn't much else to eat in and around the area so we often just stayed at the resort. Rooms are nice - beds are very firm, washroom had nice hot water and was clean and the in-room filtered water with coffee and team was a nice touch. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive. We booked massages overlooking the ocean 2 days in a row, great price! We booked the whale shark tour through the hotel it can easily be done without a tour. Ways to improve: offer more on-resort activities, morning sunrise yoga on that grassy area, nightly entertainment, movies, etc. Not a whole lot to do on the resort otherwise, but so much potential to add more activities - visits to the Boljonn market, etc.

The rooms has bad furniture. toilet door has too many vents that the room will get smelly so easy. there is no night life, everything in the resort will close 10pm. you will be 30 min driving away of the nearest market!. Granada Beach Resort is one of the best experiences myself and my wife had! a private beach located near Oslob with a lot of activities to do such as swimming with whale sharks and visiting some really nice waterfalls around the area.

The Staff at Granada are very engaging and will chat you up to ensure that you are most comfortable during your stay there. My wife and I would like to specially thank the Granada Staff and especially to one of the staff named Qwi, she was very capable and very friendly. We felt we made friends ontop on just a usual getaway trip. She deserves to be praised for such hospitality given to guests and ensuring all their needs and requests are catered for.

Granada would definitely be a place we would like to visit again, hopefully next year! :)

The location is far from other activities. This is a 2.5 star hotel which believes it is a 5 star destination. Staff, though great people, were poorly trained and supervised. Management has a book of policies and procedures which it is unwilling to deviate from \"just because\" it is already covered in the P&P. Bring a sense of humor if you have to stay here. Avoid if at all possible. The beach area is not cleaned, and the wifi can only be reached ( when it is up) in the bar area.

The hotel is tucked into a hillside, with a narrow driveway that’s a bit different for drivers to find. Once there, the rooms are lovely, the view over the beach and neighboring hills are beautiful, and the food is decent if not quite gourmet.
Be forewarned, however, about some of contractors the hotel uses. We booked the whale sharks through the hotel. The driver who picked us up talked us into diving, rather than snorkeling and said he had a friend who’d give us a deal if we paid him directly and kept it a secret from the hotel. When we arrived in Oslob, about 45 minutes away, it was clear he was scrambling to find us dive gear and a dive master. When we said we should probably just snorkel, he grew agitated about losing the $ and insisted we dive. The whale sharks are amazing, of course. But come to find out, we actually paid MORE not less. Also be very wary about the boat operators in the area. That same driver was connected to an operator who took us by banka boat to Alona Beach on Bohol island. It was very crowded! The tender that picked us up was extremely overloaded with passengers and luggage—so much so that I could easily touch the water, and worried along with several others, about whether we’d make it to shore. It seemed like a potential disaster in the making. We trusted Grenada Beach Resort to refer us to tours and transportation and our experience was less than optimal. Best to arrange on your own and don’t be talked into “deals” offered on the side.

This places is amazing. There are great views, spacious rooms and friendly staff. There are snorkles you can use for the private beach, but I suggest having some lake shoes. Food is pretty good and bar is very chill. The owners are so nice. I forgot to get a magnet at the whale shark place and they had a tour guide bring one to me on his way back to the resort. They also had someone cary my bags to the road to catch the bus. Both of them are wonderful people. Had good chats by the pool with them and some hotel guests. The internet doesn't work in the room, but I didn't mind lounging by the pool or in the bar to check emails. They also arrange tours for you. I did the whale shark swim, but there are some negative aspects of this business you should read about before participating. I only learned about them afterward. It is a beautiful place and I would definitely stay here again. Advice for single girls in general in Philippines, wear a ring.

Lovely hotel with its own private beach. The hotel has one restaurant which overlooks the beach and a beautiful bay. The food provided was excellent however choice was limited. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel recommended renting a moped from a guy called Eddie who owns a motorcycle rental shop nearby. Eddie charges 600php for a 24hr rental and was also very helpful with arranging transport for our trip from Cebu to Bohol. I would also strongly recommend making contact with a Male called JP who lives at the house at the start of the hotel driveway. JP has great local contacts for transport and tricycles etc. I struggled to find hotels of this quality in southern Cebu and it is ideally located if you plan to see the whale sharks in Cebu which is around a 15 minutes tricycle ride away.

Excellent hotel near Oslob

Very nice place. Excellent place to relax. Cocktails and food were good, though the menu is limited. The reef just off the hotel is beautiful and absolutely teeming with life, but it is difficult to get in and out of the water as the rocks are very tough on the feet. No refrigerators in the room was a minor inconvenience. The place itself is beautiful and the view was fantastic, especially at sunrise. Would come again!

Perfect For Secluded Relaxation

The hotel is excellent if you are looking for rest and relaxation. There are plenty of lounge chairs and beds perfect for reading a book or sipping on a nice cocktail by the pool or the beach. The views from the hotel are fantastic, especially if you can get up early to watch the sunrise from the tip of the peninsula. The food in the restaurant was quite good with fresh ingredients (The coconuts are harvested to order from the palms at the beach). The dinner menu changes each evening on a weekly rotation while the breakfast menu is on a three-day rotation. The lunch menu is the same each day. The options are fairly limited, so if you are staying for a longer time, you may want to seek out other restaurants in either the nearby town or in Oslob, just for something different. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, which we found to be a bit inconvenient. The cocktails that they prepare are very good, and are typically available throughout the day, though they will occasionally run out of the ingredients for some of them if there is a sudden increase in demand. The tours available through the hotels are great and very reasonably priced. In addition to the private transport, they also send one of the hotel staff to act as tour guide and photographer, and they make the photos available to you on the same day. We had an excellent time at the Whale Sharks, Sumilon Island and the Secret Waterfall. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we look forward to coming back again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was kind and welcoming and the owners were willing to help however they could. The food was delicious and the grounds well kept. It's a great place to spend your time in the south of Cebu. They are very accommodating in arranging your tours and transfers to the area's attractions (whale sharks, Kawasan Falls). The complimentary 15 minute foot massage in the seaside hut was a nice touch. We will confidently recommend Granada Beach Resort to our friends and travel clients.

The Staff makes this place amazing the best service in the Philippines. I wish they offer more local food choices philippine food, I wish they had a fire pit on the beach and a grill to cook fish that you caught. I would have been happy to pay the hotel to cook fish for me but they would not. I loved the place and will go back again!

Nice hotel with big and clean rooms. It is very secluded, overall experience is that of serenity and tranquility. Tour provided was very good, well planned and we did not have to worry about anything. However, food at hotel was not up to standard and could be improved.

We loved our stay at Granada Beach resort. The private beach and house reef-- ,the lovely swimming pool .--excellent restaurant and happy considerate staff.
A modern building with 8 rooms all with sea view to the front and balcony overlooking a wooded area to the rear. The hotel organises trips with guide.. we went snorkelling with whale sharks(amazing )Visited waterfalls and pools below the falls and we went Snorkelling to Somelion island. .another good trip!
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we congratulate them on their smiling service.

Peace in Paradise!

We spent 8 nights at Granada beach resort and were SO well looked after by all the staff. Our room had the view of the beautiful blue ocean AND also a balcony overlooking a woodland area.The hotel has a large pool and private beach with steps down into the sea and a house reef which has really healthy coral and a fair selection of fish. Not everyday was a clear sea but snorkelling on the good days was excellent-the hotel provided masks /snorkels and fins. Trips organised by the hotel with their own star guide were worth every peso as he took photos which we were able to down load (including underwater shots of the whale sharks-18 feet long gentle giants and we snorkelled with them)As the hotel is well off the beaten track we ate each evening in the restaurant and the food and choice of food was good and freshly cooked also very reasonably priced.

Booked a sea view room. Arrived and was given a pool view room. Told the staff straight away and they contacted the owners. They told us that they would sort it out the following morning. The owners never said a word to us. This was the first day of our trip, we arrived around 8pm and wanted to wake up to the sea.

Free Wifi didn't work for us at all during our stay, so if you need it you need to pay the in-room WiFi fee.

Food: Different breakfast each day. It was a shame not to be offered rice for breakfast as is usual in the Philippines. Would have liked more Filipino food at dinner.

Great get away

We loved this place. 9 rooms and plenty of staff. most guests are away during day time for excursions.
The private beach is beautiful and very quiet.
The Cliff Top Bar has good food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
There's an excellent little massage hut at the cliff. Go try it it. Check the availability first.
There are a few minor caveats: very low water pressure (but hot water is available), practically non-existing free WiFi (buy a sin card at the airport: 300php for 5gb; paid Wi-Fi is available), some plastic and rags in the water that nobody removes.

Best option at Cebu's lower East Coast

We immediately felt comfortable after a super friendly and warm welcome. The rooms view is great. Interior is very well done, as well as cozy and clean. Dinner was very good, although we where a bit sad that there were mostly western style dishes on the menu that day (daily changing menu). We would have loved to stay longer. We left for Oslob whale shark watching very early in the morning (which is 15mins by car).

Amazing Place in South Cebu

This hotel is amazing, the hotel staff greeted us with open arms despite our later that noted arrival. Food at the hotel was impeccable, no fault could be said there, it was so good we didn't bother venturing out of the resort much, only to climb Taraw Peak and visit Kawasan falls. The facilities are perfect for the location of the resort, with an amazing view of the ocean and coastline. The only negative (and it wont bother most) but the pressure for the showers made it difficult to enjoy a nice warm shower after a rain soaked hike or visit to a waterfall. Besides this, a warning to those checking in after sun down, the sign for the entrance to the resort is difficult to spot, even with a GPS.

Relax and play at Granada

Victoria & Chris have made a little piece of Paradise called Granada.. It was stress free! They arranged transport to and from the resort + guides to all the local attractions ( wale shark , water falls ).
From the picture views, clean rooms with hot water ,friendly staff ,private snorkeling and Fantastic food!!
I was so impressed i will definitely be visiting again.

Very clean resort with amazing view

great experience here at Granada, I wished I had spent more time at the resort instead of on the road to some attractions. The rooms were all clean & great except for a few things that I have to highlight. the shower water pressure was kind of weak but at least they got heater working. another thing is a bathroom door mat or bedroom slipper would be very much appreciated. Cos to me it's kind of icky to walk around the bedroom with wet feets.

As for the breakfast, I'm glad I chose omelette with mozzarella cheese and capsicum as the scramble eggs was kind of plain and overcook. they serve freshly brew coffee too. nice!
We had tried their steak for dinner, the taste and doneness was just right on the spot. however it was hard to chew, probably due to the lean cut. we all had aching jaw the next day.. lol

And a very special thanks to Chris to accommodate to our unreasonable request of sudden cravings to french fries. He had the kitchen to specially prepare french fries and sweet potatoes fries after the dinner crowds. the homemade potato fries were awesome! we wished we had ordered more. =D
Overall experience had exceeded my expectations! I will stay here again when i'm back to Cebu!

Pros: Beautiful Hotel. Beautiful Rooms. Very clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and pillows. Amazing view of the ocean with big pool. Air comditionning in rooms. Food is amazing and reasonably priced. Shower has good water pressure and they offer free body wash & shampoo. Private beach right next to the hotel resort. Very quiet only 8 rooms.

Cons: Secluded from everything. You need to use their tricycle/ car service. They were not helpful with helping us find a way out of the resort ( which is 3 mins up and down hill from the road). Impossible to walk out by foot. The owner \" Sir Chris\" was nice at first and then was really rude and dismissive. He also argued with one his staff members in front of his customer. Wifi is charged in rooms, only free in restaurant area. Poor connection.

Overall, this resort was amazing and would have given a 5star rating had it not been for the unprofessional approach of the owner.

All in all a very mixed stay.
Awesome:
1. Great location, great small rapport with private beach, corals and a pool.
2. Fantastic breakfast, good lunch and dinner.

Terrible/disappointing:
1. No hot water (under \"enhancement works\" during our stay. No compensation was offered.
2. Drizzle of cold water in the shower... Really not a pleasure.
3. No hair dryer available.
4. Booked \"ocean view\" room but only got a pool view.

Surprisingly disappointed

My family and I chose this resort based on its excellent reviews, quiet private location, and beauty but upon a very late arrival, long travel, and in desperate need of showers we were shocked to find only cold water and no water pressure. We also encountered water pressure problems with the toilet, extremely dodgy WIFI, an extremely limited restaurant menu selection, no hammocks as shown, and no beach umbrellas poolside. Additionally, although the room was clean and comfortable, it was lacking amenities, such as a fridge, a safe, hand towels and bath mat, drying rack, and deck furniture. We were not made aware that this resort was so eco-friendly (hence no hot water and no water pressure) and lacked basic, standard amenities found at any 3 star resort. Had any of this been presented on the resort website or in reviews, we would have come more prepared. After hearing of our dissatisfaction through Expedia, following check-in, the resort owner was quick to suggest we find other accommodation. We were shocked by his lack of customer service. We had expected him to ask what he could do to make our stay better but instead we felt compelled to leave. In all fairness though we were given a full refund. Fortunately for us, we were able to find another quiet beautiful 3 star resort for almost the same rate with ALL the amenities... We highly recommend the Costabella Tropical Beach Resort!

Nette kleine Anlage die schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen ist aber trotzdem sehr gepflegt ist!
Die Lage ist top direkt an einem Riff wo man wirklich toll schnorcheln kann sehr zu empfehlen! Essen ist ok man findet sich schon was . Extrem nette Menschen die dort arbeiten sowie der Eingentümer.
Das einzige schlimme ist die tägliche kalte Dusche! Leider ist der Wasserdruck sehr schlecht und meist ist das Wasser kalt! Das war aber wirklich alles ! Mein Highlight die Zufahrt zum Hotel !! Ein Mega Erlebnis vor allem wenn man selbst mit dem Auto fährt !
