First of all the location is excellent… right in the middle of the rainforest, although the drive up there is not for the faint hearted. My room was very basic, which was expected. The thing I didn’t like was that the door to the deck didn’t seal at all, so when the wind blew at night it rattled the blinds and kept me awake. Parking spots are very tight for even a modest size car. Food options were limited and expensive. If you are not in a self catering unit you run out of choices quickly. I didn’t do too many activities but the e-bike ride and the morning bird watch were great. I did several solo hikes which were also great. The view of the stars at night was stunning.

From campsites, old feel cabins to superior rooms it doesn’t really matter! The surroundings, the bird and wildlife are amazing!! The staff superior, friendly and from all parts of the world. We would comeback in an instant! If I could give the staff 11 out of 10 I would.

Easily 30 mins of mountain road on the drive up but friendly drivers who didn't tailgate made the drive up bearable. Room was old and without tv but spotlessly clean. Lots of free activities, restaurant has the most amazing food despite the location and a slightly higher than normal price. Definitely eat at the restaurant for dinner but watch out for their friendly parrots who would sit with you and eat your food. We booked a 2d1n and should have stayed at least a day more. Don't miss the alpaca place at the bottom of the mountain, near the OReilly's winery. $3 to get up close and feed alpacas but a lovely experience. Manager's greeting is free with a glass of champagne and a nice talk about the history of the place. Staff were all friendly, loved the animal encounter show, got up close with sugar gliders. Overall a lovely good time. Would revisit!

This is definitely a RETREAT. If you love nature, just book this place already. There is NO TV in the room, which just allows you to disconnect with the world and connect with YOURSELF. The birds are so friendly and would land outside our balcony door, but they would not come in. As this is so close to the nature, do bring repellent if you are afraid of bugs.
Many nature trails to walk and I wished I had stayed one more night, just so I can go for the trails. Too many things to do, too little time. Very nice place with many activities that allows you to spend time with nature. Managed to see wallabies along the road to and fro the resort! Too cute.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, so you can rest assure that you're very well taken care of. There's a laundry room so you can do your laundry if needed too! Nice place.

The room was lovely and clean with a beautiful mountain view. Plumbing wasn’t that great as we heard the toilet being flushed every time above us. Some staff members were extremely nice, others were extremely rude. The tracks are lovely and the national park is full of wildlife. Dining options were limited, and the ones offered were extremely expensive.

This is a beautiful lodge in the rainforest. Just a gorgeous setting with vivid bird life. We kind of bumped into this property by accident and regret that we couldn’t stay longer. There is so much to do that we didn’t have time for. Highly recommended as a destination and we would certainly recommend staying for several days if you can.

I booked a night at O'Reilly's Rainforest Lodge for our 40th wedding anniversary and was slightly disappointed with our overnight stay. We were given the only room in the block that didn't have a car park directly underneath our room which meant we had to leave our car in the day visitors car park about 100 metres away.
The room facilities were fine and the bed was comfortable and warm.
The dining options were limited to a choice between the dinner buffet for $70 per person or expensive a la carte options from the bar. We chose to have the buffet and it was okay.
We attempted a couple of the shorter walks but it had been raining so the walks were slightly muddy and slippery so we returned to the room.
The highlight of our stay was the Early Morning Bird Walk with a member of staff as the guide. We saw lots of small birds during the walk and the guide provided lots of information about them.
Overall, I thought that the Lodge needs to update some of its iconic features if it wants return patronage.

Our third visit to O’Reillys. Bad timing for us (no warning from Hotels.com or O’Reillys), as the main building was closed due to refurbishment and many tours were not running. So instead of eating in the nice restaurant and enjoying good meals, we could only use the Mountain Cafe, sitting on metal chairs and choosing from a basic menu. Not even muesli or cereals for breakfast, just cooked breakfasts. Also, our room hasn’t been cleaned properly and the canteen tables were not very clean. But don’t let this put you off coming, as it is a great place for being at home with nature and seeing rainforest birds. Just check with O’Reillys first on their status before booking.

We loved the scenery from our Villa, staff were so friendly and helpful. The Glow Worm tour was spectacular, the walks were safe and accessible especially for our 93yr old Grandma - she loved the Boardwalk. The only issues we had was with our Villa, I have advised the staff of these problems so the next guests do not have this happen to them. We were unable to use the air con in our main room for warmth, which we needed especially for our Grandma who really felt the cold, the shower head was broken, the TV needs to be upgraded, the lounge/carpet needs to be steam cleaned as there was a pungent smell in our room, we had to purchase a fragrant candle from the cafe shop for our room to hide the smell. There also was clothing/baby nappy behind the washing machine, only reason I saw it was because I dropped a sock behind it, I felt the cleanliness of the room could have been better. When we left I could not vacuum as the vacuum hose was no where to be found, so had to manually sweep the whole place out. I did think that the staff might have given us a discount or some sort of refund maybe even for the candle that we had to purchased.

Lovely villa overlooking stunning rainforest. Beautiful balcony, but unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy it. The villa itself was cold, but we unfortunately arrived in a very cold snap. The hotel facilities were great, with a lovely bar for food (didn’t try the main restaurant). The villa was good for self catering but you need to bring everything with you as only basic supplies in the shop. The walks are incredible and have options for all levels. We did a 20km circuit with stunning waterfalls, bird life and even a python. We will definitely visit again.

it was a surprise celebration we organized. Between about 23 family members, between the dinner, room hire, accomodation and activities, well over 10 grand was spent for 3 days. Because there was so many of us, we had to pay an extra $300 to hire part of the dining room? Then 85 dollars a head for either lamb shank, or some type of fish? which was frozon, rubbery, and had no taste. Then there is the tiny room which cost me $460 for 2 nights. Nothing to eat with, nothing to heat food up with, infact 2 cup, 2 saucers, 2 tea spoons was about it. The fridge was not even big enough to place milk in? The Top of the bench, which was where the only thing in the room was,a kettle, was filthy, and if you wanted a drink, it was $6 for a can of coke? We were offered no discount on any activites, considering there were 23 of us, and they had already done quiet well from us, including my little sisters wedding a number of years ago. To hire the electric bikes were $148 for 2 hours? Not one of party received the complimentary glass of wing, nor the managers welcome. You have to pay 5 dollars for a handfull of bird seed, which you can only use to feed the birds between 10am and 330 pm at a certain spot? As for the 40 dollars a head all you can eat buffet breakfast? The porridge was rock hard, the eggs were scrambled, unless you wanted to pay extra, and cold, the bread you had to cut yourself and toast, oh and the coffee was extra? I would of rathered spent that type of money on an over seas

Stayed in the mountain view studio. Beautiful views, easy access to rainforest walks. Very tidy, mostly clean except for some pillows that looked a bit dirty. Has coffee and fridge which is nice, but lack of a kitchen sink means you have bring your own dishwasher soap and do everything in the bathroom. A bit noisy when people walk pass as its not soundproof.

Tired and now Expensive Food Costs Sky High

Its always been a bit of a trade off between quality , cost and location however recent changes have seen the cost far outweigh the quality . The place has glaring maintenance issues hot tub with no hot again , sauna with split , missing timber slats and seats , rotten timber inside the refrigerator cabinet and this is in one of their newer rooms. Then there's the food both the quality and the cost have changed ie quality down and cost way up plus the restricted min. 2 course menu at $80 per head and removal of any cheaper options ie soups and their previous roast option. They seriously need to rethink these cost up changes who ever thought that was a good idea?

You could not ask for a more friendly and welcoming team. We really felt welcome and that nothing would be any trouble. Great experience on the 4x4 with Jackie. Nathan took us to see the galaxy of glow worms in the pitch black of the rainforest. Both excursions were made enjoyable and informative by both the guides who were exceptional. The food in the restaurant was superb. My only issue was the single bed in the family room. Probably was for a child but the mattress was most uncomfortable for an adult. Would love to return again sometime.

Loved our sorry stay, but very disappointed in the resturant food. Their was 3 of us dining and 2 meal were almost ineffable. Our son ordered rump steak which was 1/2 grissle and the rest tough. The chips tasted as if they had been sitting under heat lamps for 1/2 hour. My husband ordered calamari, which was so tough he didn't eat it. I ordered pasta which was ok. It did spoil our trip and works not easy their again. Other than that the resort was very pleasant as we're the staff.
