Such a beautiful property inside and out! The views are breathtaking! My teenager daughter and I loved all of the history that was throughout the building! Beds were very comfortable too! We will definitely be back!

The Lucerne Inn needs some love. Throw some money at the rooms to make much-needed upgrades, please. Level up your grade of TP/tissue, towels, and put some real glass in the room (instead of plastic cups). The breakfast was truck-stop grade — cellophane wrapped egg sandwiches. For the $$$ it was at best, like staying in a 1975 dormer at camp.

This was a spectacular beautiful historic Inn built in 1818 with the most beautiful view of the mountains and Phillips lake from our window and it has a beautiful fine dining with the best food I had over all in Bangor! The Mother’s Day brunch was to die for! We definately look forward to staying here again on our next visit! As a historical place I had to learn how to use the shower sprayer, but after the 1st time it was no problem. The staff was super friendly and be sure and ask them about Nathan the old caretaker who murdered his wife and her lover in room 8 then committed suicide in room 5! I highly recommend this place! Just keep in mind during the winter months and downtime season the dinningroom and bar area are closed on Monday and Tuesdays.

This small, historic building was a refreshing change from all the corporate-owned lodgings. The staff were very friendly and helpful (including the two welcoming dogs who functioned as greeters). The winter salad and blueberry pie were phenomenal!

The place has the feel of a bed and breakfast, cozy but lacks quality of amenities.
The shower didn’t get super hot and steamy, and that is what we were looking for after a long day hiking. Also the stream was not that strong.
The included breakfast was kind of poor: yogurt and frozen breakfast sandwiches; not what you expect on this prize tag.
The personal was super nice and make you feel welcome! 5 start to them!!

The Inn is historic and beautiful from the outside and in a lovely setting. The dining room was pleasant and we used our 10% off coupon we were given in check in to have dinner, which was fine. Our room, however, was disappointing. It was freezing cold when we entered, which did not make us feel welcome. One heat source was an electric fireplace thing that did not put out much heat, and the other was a wall unit that didn’t regulate the temperature well. We were either way too hot or way too cold all night, so we slept poorly. The carpet was scratchy, which matters because we used that space to stretch and it was uncomfortable. The bathroom fan was incredibly loud. The toilet was very low. My mother, for example, would not have been able to use it had she been with us. My husband asked me if it was a child’s toilet when he saw it. The rest of the bathroom was meh. The website talks about beautiful antiques things in the rooms but our room was bare save for one small painting. Our room was just a big let down in just about every way.

I will not stay at the Lucerne Inn again.

Such a lovely Inn! The colonial and antique furniture throughout is just beautiful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Electric fireplace in my room was a nice touch and I always love towels warmers! I stayed downstairs , directly under the pub, so it was a bit noisy. I’d definitely suggest a different room for quieter sleep. Also, no elevator , so if you stay downstairs be light in the luggage . The bed WAS like a cloud , though :) ! The jacuzzi bath hadn’t been run in a while and had some sediment in the blowers but after I cleaned it up , it was quite nice and relaxing . The staff was super friendly and very helpful ! Very efficient! I’d love to come when I could stay a little longer and really check out the property more !

The building was lovely and was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had a great dinner at the hotel with excellent service. Our room was large, but tired. Lots of little paper signs were taped up all around it and the furniture was past its prime. There was no heat in the bathroom (save for a towel heater) so that was chilly!

Booked hotel in August for October vacation and the main reason for staying was restaurant and bar onsite. However the restaurant and bar were closed on the night we stayed despite the advertised signs saying open nightly from 5-9. Our room was not in main hotel instead located in adjacent building. The breakfast was limited food options from 7-9 am. I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for these reasons - very disappointed.

Pros: Big room. Thick towels. Nice breakfast. Beautiful grounds and view. Cons: The building is pretty old. The floors squeak very loudly and there is quite a bit of traffic noise, but we had the fan running on the air conditioner to drown it out and slept well.

We got there late, but the staff was super sweet. They did charge extra for having a 5th person even though i booked one room for 5 people on expedia. Also, their was no hot water. They said it was being worked on at 11:30pm when we arrived, but it was not fixed the next mornimg before we left (around 10am). I would have appreciated it if they would have at least waived the additional charge for the 5th person or at least a verbal appology for the inconvenience, but they did not. However the property is unique and the back yard views are gorgeous. So inspite of no hot water and the unexpected additional charge, it was a good place to stay between the airport and Bar Harbor.

The property was what we needed. It is a nice older hotel. Most of the issues are stated upfront like no elevator. The downsides are the lighting at the street is not very good and if you are not familiar with the area it challenging turning in at night. The hotel does not staff someone at the breakfast to add dishes etc. They are very attentive if you go to the desk and ask for help.

We chose the Lucerne Inn for our visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat'l Park. Although it was a good 30 minutes away, the drive was well worth it. The property is just gorgeous, both outside and in. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. And the price for the room is very reasonable considering what you get. Highly recommend.

Everything is ok with the room as far as cleanliness etc. We were not made aware of a wedding on the property until we arrived and it is literally on the other side of the window. I feel like Im in the DJs lap. We have been assured that music will end by 10pm.

There were also stairs that would make this room inaccessible for some.

This was a really cute spot to stay in on our anniversary trip to Bar Harbor. The room had everything we needed. The view was great! It is a decent distance from Bar Harbor so an easy drive into town with lots of cool spots to check out along the way. Quick drive into Bangor as well. Everything was really clean and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating! Gorgeous property.

Haunted property with unexplained events happening. Room 8 is supposed to be haunted. The dining room is one spot paranormal investigators monitor activities. During the night an unusual force pushed a guest from the bed to the floor. Haunted Lucerne Inn is For Sale.

First night I found the bed was lumpy and made alot of noise with every movements, I requested another room which they accommodated me but was told all beds bought same time and probably would be the same, bed was fine for the remaining 3 nights although smaller then a queen, was alittle hard to get use to.The continental breakfast was frozen jimmy dean sandwich in a plastic wrap to be microwave, cantaloupe, and box cereal. Coffee was very good.That was ok for one day but the rest of stay we went out for breakfast. It was odd to walk through dining room with your luggage to go to our room. Very quite place. Staff and owners very nice and pleasant , except for bartender who wanted to go home at 8:00 pm. Apparently he had a long day. We would probably not stay there again

Older inn needs some upgrades. Carpeting old and dirty/stained, especially on stairs. They must use an artificial scent cleaner for the carpeting - strong and unpleasant smell. Bed wasn’t comfortable. Continental breakfast was pathetic. Would not recommend.

We stayed a couple days at the Lucerne. It is a rustic quaint quiet hotel right next to a golf course. The room was large with a king size bed, refrigerator, fireplace, air conditioner, jet tub. I find that it was a very good deal for the money.. There is a bar and a restaurant at the hotel. The food was good. I would definitely stay here again and probably will in the future. It worked out good for us because we were traveling between Ellsworth and Bangor so it was convenient.

The only downfall is we stayed on the bottom floor and it was very noisy during the night with people upstairs. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an upper level room. All in all it was a great stay. Restaurant was amazing

I had booked for Aug 5 arr-Aug 6 dep. When I got there I was told the booking was for Aug 4 arr-Aug 5 departure. Our 20th anniversary was today Aug 6. I knkow I had problems booking this stay as Expedia kept opening up Lucerne hotels in several different areas and always defaulting to Aug 4&5 days. I finally got logged in directly to the correct Lucerne hotel for Aug-5&6 dates. Don't know how the dates defaulted to the earlier dates but it resulted in me having to pay another $180 for the stay!
