This hotel was absolutely disgusting. We walked into our room and the chairs were so stained that i actually wanted to leave. The room was in need of work and updating. The only nice thing I can day was the breakfast was ok. This is a hotel that I think houses people who live there on a permanent basis. Smelled pot in the halls..it was not a good experience for us at all.

I hate to leave a review like this BUT this place is terrible. The smell was awful, we found out later it is a dog hotel (this is my fault for not investigating this prior to booking) but the owners have used the best pictures for advertisement and the rest of the place is run down. You can tell they are trying to fix it up...but what has been done is sloppy and there's really no way to fix dog smells.

No complaints about the location or staff, both were great in my opinion 👍. Small number of guests (1 room) were not mindful of the fact there are also other guests at the hotel but that is not at Vacationland's fault.

This hotel probably hasn't done a major renovation since it was built (or in over 50 years - not sure which), but it's a cute place and for the price, it was definitely a good place to stay for the 1 night.

Amenities:
-We walked in and out of the \"deluxe\" continental breakfast. They had a waffle make and a few other things, but nothing that looked good to us. I was hoping I could have yogurt with granola or something a little bit healthy but we just went somewhere else.
-Only given one bar of soap to share for the 2 of us for the shower and washing your hands at the sink.

It might look like a run-of-the-mill, roadside motel, but it is SO MUCH MORE! The front lobby is so warm and inviting, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was a amazing. I purposely got the king bed with jacuzzi tub and it was wonderful. The pillows were amazing. My husband has such a hard time falling & staying asleep, but he actually got some solid sleep in and was VERY comfortable. The jacuzzi was so nice, even in May (the cold snap hit this weekend so it was very appreciated). The whole room was comfortable as all get out, and my husband and I agree that this was the best trip to the area we have ever had.

This hotel has seen better days. Old, worn carpet in our room. Bathtub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned before our stay. Holes in bathroom door. Toilet paper holder was mounted so high you almost had to fully stand up to reach it. One of the beds had a bloodstain on it. Hallway door wasn’t properly sealed and allowed a lot of light into the room. Best part was the breakfast. Next time in Bangor I’ll spend a little more money on my room.

The picture of the room that I believed I was getting was 100% different. The room looked like a jail cell. The green chair was just about brown from dirt and water stains. The bathroom ceiling was molded and stained all around the titles. We walked into the room and right back and out and found a different place to stay, it was not a safe place for our very young child to be. The room was definitely not what the picture online was portrayed to be, far from it. Sharing my experience so to have transparency to other customers before booking.

Pros: The Staff were friendly, and the room was clean
Cons: The Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, the sink had some drainage issues, the bedding had some stains, the toilet seat was loose, some light bulbs were not working, and the toilet paper was extremely cheap.

I will definitely be staying somewhere else next time.

Tiny room with two doors, one inside the hotel, one to the parking lot like a motel. Real key!
Sketch tiles on the ceiling, had to check if it was a bug or stain up there. It was a stain! Not sure which is better.
Breakfast was amazing with great staff, and nice that you didn't have to walk outside.
1950 green bathroom tiles can be sold on ebay, especially the paper holder and soap dish.

Decent place to stay. Rates are unbeatable, rooms out back are spacious. There are lots of rooms rented to monthly tenants, some can be very intrusive and sketchy. Be warned they will want to talk to you lots if you go for breakfast.

Scary area
On top of that, I felt very uncomfortable with some of the staff.
At one point, the staff member came to the door unexpectedly late at night. I felt uneasy and refused to open the door. We put a chair infront of the door.

Smelled like smoke so couldn’t stay there
Stains on bed
Carpet was musty and dirty.
To make matters worse I had a bug crawling on me a bed bug
It’s was absolutely the worst experience ever

Room was ready early, clean, fridge and coffee machine. The bed was not comfortable. Breakfast was ok. They had a waffle machine which my family enjoyed. The coffee was awful. It had grounds in it and it was just made. I wish the had hard boiled eggs. Overall OK, but a little pricy. I wouldnt stay there for any length of time.

Bathroom is very small, channel selection is very limited, no cups in room for our drinks, no hair dryer, extremely warm in our room with no ability to use the fan on the air conditioner as it had a lock on it. Breakfast options very limited.

The room was small which we knew, we didn't know their would be mouse traps in the room or a blob of something sticky on the bedspread. I don't think the rug was vacuumed as their were feathers on the floor. Backporch/deck to cars was very soft. Thought my foot was going to go through the boards. Place in need of an update very soon not just a coat of paint.

You know those tv shows where people rent rooms for an hour? This might be one of those. The property is very dated, smelled like cigarettes and marijuana, and did not feel safe at all. Our room was small, dark, and in poor repair. The screen did not fit the window, the floor squeaked with every step, the bathroom ceiling was braced, and our feet stuck to the bathroom floor. The cleanliness of the room was questionable so we went to the local Walmart for blankets and slept on top of the beds. It was a challenge to find our room and we passed rooms where men hollered loudly behind closed doors. The floors were uneven throughout the hotel and more than once someone tripped on them. We did not trust the breakfast in the morning and went elsewhere. The only positive of the stay was the two young people who checked us in and out. They were helpful and friendly. Leo the hotel dog was adorable. Even the lower price than others is not worth this experience.

There is no hot tub like some say on here. But it was a great stay! I would definitely go back! It’s a really nice hotel if you want a cute get away. It was perfect for my husbands birthday weekend. Don’t let the low price scare you away, it WAS quality!

Room was not at all what we expected from the pictures on the site. The room we got, was completely run down. Smelled when we open the door, we had to open the windows till we went to sleep. Hot water took a long time to run.
We know we didn’t lay very much for the room, but it really wasn’t at all what they have on the booking sites. Had we not been so tired from travelling we would have went to office to ask for another room. Quick sleep and back on the road. Just a warning! Be careful of pictures you don’t always get what you’re expecting!
The staff at the office was accommodating when we asked for a room with an outside door. Wish he would have told us it was very run down.

Shame on Expedia for allowing this as a choice!!!!
Travelling and needing a place to rest for a night… went on Expedia and read reviews and saw pictures… 7.6 rating.. reviews said clean … price was right for a sleep!
Well … room 226 should be condemned! First impression… hallway was absolutely filthy! .. Opened door to room 😩… dirty … ceiling tiles bulging in bedroom and bathroom… turned bed sheets down… thinking someone had already slept in them .. wrinkled and worn .. pillows smelt like sweat, pillow cases were stained, curtains were stained, walls had wet streak stains.. rugs were filthy, burn marks.. bathroom smelt like urine… all we were expecting was clean and safe… definitely didn’t meet our expectations… thinking people live there long term and perhaps write reviews in order to stay … description of whirlpool baths in rooms … no .. and if there were … no thank you!!!!!!
DO NOT consider staying here.

The jetted tub was the highlight of this room. The outside was littered with cigarettes- there was water damage/mold on the ceiling. The breakfast was bare minimum, (bagels, cereal, muffins and fruit)

I think this hotel is very much “you get what you pay for” and you can take that however you want. This is about my 3rd time staying at this motel and I enjoy it. It doesn’t hurt the pocket and it does its job! Gives us a comfortable place to rest up .. I’ve noticed a few odd things about the place, like a light switch being placed inside of the bathtub, or a tv not working. But it’s nothing I can’t look past. Me and my family enjoy staying here and haven’t really run into any problems yet and we’ll definitely be staying again in the future.

This is a good place to stay if you want to be economical! It has all the basics. Since you pay less, there are a few things lacking: The room we stayed in had no closet or place to hang clothes. Also, the bed was a bit soft for our tastes, and the TV was not a smart TV. Notwithstanding these issues, I would stay again! The price was really good and I slept well.

The hot tub didn’t completely plug, it had a slow leak and would stay full unless we continuously added water. There were cigarette burn holes in the curtain, bathroom sink had cigarette burn marks as well. The internet was a choppy signal hit or miss at best. There were cracked and damaged pictures on the walls. The were annoyed that we requested extra towels (keep in mind that we stayed 3 nights). Overall not worth the price they ask for peak times in my opinion. Slow time prices would be worth it if the negatives were fixed or we were compensated for our inconvenience and the way we were treated by staff.

Check in was a little chaotic. Reservation confirmations should mention all people in the room over 21 need id at check in. Luckily they were willing to work with me as my partner had left their wallet almost 3 hours away at home. Staff was super understanding about it. The jacuzzi suite was amazing

Room could use a fresh coat of paint especially the door and woodwork,room was nice but it'd be nice to have an extra blanket in the room or on the bed, the laminate flooring is nice but a door mat would help keep the snow and salt tracking in the room, had the room 2 nights housekeeping knocked onnthe door at 9am we asked them to come back they didn't so the floor was filthy dirty the whole time.
