Beautiful place, beautiful view, kind staff

Gorgeous room with an incredible view - every little thing had been thought of! The breakfast was also delicious, the staff were really friendly, and we'd definitely stay again.

Loved the cozy room with the view of Taal Lake and the breakfast served in the balcony. We wanted to hangout at the terrace but they are doing some repairs so at the time we were there we can onky hang out inside our room. The room could use a bit more cleaning. Overall, the room, bfast and service was ok. It' also great that they have it was walking distance to starbucks and other restaurants.

The Best View.

All hotels in Tagaytay have beautiful views on the lake, but Joaquin’s has probably the the best angle. The terrasse is wonderful and the rooms are comfortable and proper. It would help if the staff were a bit more fluent in English.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we both agree that we picked our best hotel ever. Amazing view from every room... very quiet even though it's right next to a fairly busy road. Staff were excellent, breakfast was perfect. Walking distance to shops..restaurants..coffee shops and malls. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends... thanks for a lovely stay .

Room with a view of Taal volcano

The staff helpful and accommodating; didn’t like the welcome drink, buko juice will be better.
The rooms are clean and lovely w/ the whimsical decor. The garden w/ the view of Taal volcano and surroundings is beautiful!
Breakfast was okey but they should improve the quality of the fruits.
It’s a great place to just relax and while away time .

All about the view

We stayed only one night but were very comfortable & loved the quirky arty decor. The Filipino breakfast was delicious & staff very cheerful & helpful.
The main negative was the busy road & constant traffic jams which made going anywhere in a vehicle very slow or walking on the road not pleasant. This is the same anywhere in Taygaytay. However the rooms are quiet & calm. The main highlight is of course the fabulous view, especially as the sun set.

I got a wrong date of reservation

I overlooked our hotel stay, i booked at expedia on dec 20 & 21. But we got to tagaytay dec 19 and 20, but staff were very kind enough to accommodate us and really gave the room we booked. Thank you so much. As always, it is a pleasurable stay at joaquin's.

I have never felt so relaxed and in loved with places i stayed with until joaquin bnb! One of the best place ever for couples, room was so neat, the view of taal lake was very stunning, people are very nice and food was generous in serving! Highly recommended for couples!

Not what I expected from an award-winning hotel

I had high hopes for Joaquin's. There was a storm when we stayed there, so maybe they were unprepared for it, but in order for us to go to our room, we had to go down four flights of stairs with our luggages. There was no proper cover so we were drenched. It's definitely not for people who are older. When we arrived, the room was okay, but the floors were too slippery. There was no hot water from the shower. Wi-fi didn't work. There were dead insects over the glass windows that didn't get cleaned. When we had our breakfast, cats kept meowing because they were expecting us to feed them, and when they left we saw that they immediately went up to the table to scour for food.

Very nice quiet place.

Joaquin's has a great view of Taal. We stayed in a garden room which was quiet and refreshing. The room was beautiful. We were able to order from a breakfast menu and it was brought to our room promptly when we requested. People that have difficulty with steps might not enjoy the many steps down to the garden level. But the benefit of the many steps is that it takes away from the road so that its quieter. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back.

Pleasant rooms with folksy décor.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms quite charming. The view of Taal Lake was fabulous! The staff were nice and check-in was easy. Breakfast was also good.

There was a slight smell outside the garden of one of our rooms. Not sure where it was coming from, although the smell disappeared the following day.

Nice B&B with incredible view of Taal.

Friendly staff. Requests were responded to quickly. Clean room and common areas. Decent wifi when on patio. Good selection of channels on TV if the weather doesn't cooperate. Daily breakfast was very good both American and Filipino style. The only thing I didn't like was their coffee. However, you're flanked by Starbucks by walking .4 miles in either direction. Grocery store next to the Starbucks if you walk out and to the left. Plenty of restaurants within 10-20 minute walk. I was there for wedding and was able to get my clothes steamed. Would stay again!

Relaxing stay

Our family stayed here overnight for an out of town trip. The room itself is clean and relaxing with a good view of taal lake from our veranda.
All staff are courteous and welcoming. The food is good and service is speedy.
We'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

Nostalgic room setting with great view!

The hotel is located in the main street but the rooms are quite because they are located away from the street. If you're driving, be advised that they have limited parking space. They have nostalgic room setting with a small balcony facing the great scenery. They have one room available on the main floor for personnel who uses wheel chairs... there are no escalator or elevator available to the guests. Breakfast is available between 7:30am to 10:30am with limited selections. Orders can be placed the night before and can be delivered to your room on specified time. Staff is courteous and very customer oriented... service is fast to include room service and maintenance.

Great view and location, average accomodations

The view from the rooms of Joaquin's B&B were the best part of this B&B, high up in Tagaytay overlooking Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. It's also cooler up there. The room was adequate, with mosquito netting for the bed which wasn't needed in early April, fortunately. Unfortunately the breakfast was nothing special but maybe that's because we only chose the American-style fixed menu. Free wifi is only available near the lobby, which is one or two stories above your room.

Pretty relaxing

Our trip was on a busy holy week break, traffick was really horrible. Going around outside the hotel is really not a good idea. Good thing staying inside our room, having our own mini garden and a view of the lake is enough to be spared from the stress and hassles of the traffick outside. The food is great! The staff are very accomodating and very helpful. Our room is so big, though the bathroom is small, it'll be better if it's bigger. And it'll be so nice if our room has free wifi. But overall we enjoyed our stay and definetely be back again.

No wifi in rooms as advertised

Paid an arm and a leg for this place and they did not have wifi in the rooms as advertised on expedia. This caused us immense trouble. Not to mention their rooms had poor phone reception as well so accessing our data was a big problem. Breakfast was decent. Foul smell coming out from bathroom. Staff were inattentive and daydreaming. Scheduled 9am breakfast but by 915am nobody was to be found anywhere so I had to ring the bell. Awful experience, we will never trust expedia and their reviews.

BnB at its finest

Spend the new year here to avoid the noise in the city. Rooms are super clean and smells nice. Excellent view of the Taal Volcano. Breakfast tastes very good. No wifi in rooms though. Overall it's good and we'll come back again.

breakfast attendants should be available early. Service attendants can be more personable (with uniform, etc.) Also no internet in the room and signal in other areas not so good. Quite pricey for the quality of service and facilities.

Solo getaway

I stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. I booked a room with the mini garden and its not disappointing. It was exactly like the pictures and I really feel home in this room. :) perfect view of the Taal Lake and Volcano. The room was clean and the hotel was too. The food is good and had big servings, well atleast for my stomach. The location of the hotel was quite hard to find especially if you're from Nasugbu. I didn't pay anything except the accomodation.

Better than Expected

This place is awesome! Much better than I expected. The only other place I have stayed is up the road at the Taal Vista Resort so its the only comparison I can make for this area. I would choose this place hands down. Its much more comfortable and the staff is excellent. Doesn't feel like a big hotel chain because its not. Feels more like a bedroom in your house with an amazing view.

AC worked great...breakfast was really good and right on time. You can eat up stairs if you wish and look at the amazing view...or eat inside your room or on the patio or garden area in private with the amazing view.

What I really liked about this place is the view and the location. Restaurants and stores within walking distance. New Mall within very short Jeepeny ride. Everything was very close. At the Taal Vista....everything was NOT within walking distance.

Good place to book during the week because the price takes a pretty big jump on the weekends. I book for 2 days and stayed for 4.
5 Stars all the way I am super picky.

The best bed and breakfast!

They served us pandan drink upon arrival. The service lady was nice and led us to our room. The room was cleaned and has a strong aroma but if you don't like it you can blow off the candle which was what I did cause the smell was a little too strong for me. We had a king size bed, very super comfy one! Nice bathroom with toiletries. The room has a magnificent view, I can see Taal valcano clearly from the balcony. Overall facility is great, but I think there's no wifi there or if they do, but I didn't ask for it. The breakfast was really delicious. I get to eat the typical traditional pinoy breakfast from there. It served with local small fishes, beef, eggs, pineapple, coffee, rice. Indeed, the best bed and breakfast experience! love it.

Great ambiance, bad parking

The room ambiance was great especially w/ the veranda and view of Taal lake/volcano. Breakfast was good and filling. The only thing i didn't like was there wasn't enough parking space. Had to go out of the room twice to move my car so other cars can pass. Such a bother when you are awakened early morning just to move the car.

Shabby Chic. ..not sure if that is good or bad!

Stated one night. Car parking outside so that's a good start. Check in smooth and no problems. Walk to room is down steep steps ( of for us but you should know if less able) and initial room thoughts good. ...definitely shabby chic with nice large bed and possibly the most important thing a great view of Taal. We had problems getting TV to work and would cut out for about 2 seconds every 20 mins or so...annoying but not so annoying to complain about. Toilet flush a little temperamental but again we managed without making a fuss. So for a short stay when location was most important it was fine....would we stay again....no so sure!
