This is not a 4 star hotel. It is a three star at best. The rooms are basic and dated. Some rooms don't have a fridge, the TVs are tiny. The layout of the hotel makes getting to the far rooms like the scene from the movie \"The Shining.\" Redrum.

I stayed there for the MotoGP race weekend, and they basically tripled their rate and then cut the \"all-inclusive\" that is advertised all over the hotel down to a bed and breakfast service.

I checked into my room and then went to the restaurant to eat. When I returned to my room, my key didn't work. I went back to the front desk and they told me that they had given me the wrong room, so they had removed my belongings from the original room and put them at the front desk. There was no luggage cart or bell-hop available, so I got to lug my belongings to the new room, which was on the farthest side of hotel, rather than them transferring things themselves after realizing their own error.

The location is convenient to the track, but I don't think I'd recommend this place otherwise.

Nice for families with kids, not for couples

In the middle of vacation it is obviously busy. Most guests are families with kids that creates a noisy and busy atmosphere. For a 4 star hotel a bit \"cheap\", but for families with kids it must be really nice. With I guess 600-700 guests you feel a bit like cattle, but basic issues like quality of the beds and nice bad/shower/water pressure/airco are nice! Decent breakfast, but again, busy in top summer time, which is expected.

Prima weekend verblijf

Enorm hotel, maar daar eigelijk niets slechts aan gemerkt. Check-in was super snel, alles lag al klaar. Kamer is prima, schoon en compleet.

Eten was goed geregeld, ook in lijn met de huidige regels. En het was nog lekker ook.

We hebben er ook nog gezwommen.

Lovely hotel. Little annoying they charged me late checkout even though I emailed a couple of weeks ahead to say that I would be arriving a day late and could they do late checkout in place of it (because my Flybe flight was cancelled when they shut down).

Water Park is a good addition, although it is more like a swimming pool with added wave pool, sauna etc.

I was surprised by the all the amenities that this hotel had! Several clubs, bowling, kids play area; another area like a jungle gym; an exercise and pool area; spa; at least 4 restaurants and free breakfast buffet - which had SO many choices - including gluten-free breads and options!!! I didn't get to use the pool this time but did bowling and had a lot of fun. They also have a \"game room\" w/various video type games and whatnot and pool tables and a few other table games like that. I plan to stay this summer if I get the chance to visit my friends in that area again.

Pleasantly suprised!

I just booked as we wanted something close to Assen race circuit and was pleasantly surprised - big hotel with lots of free parking, a nice bar area, decent restaurant and pleasant rooms.
Only slight complaint is its a bit far from the centre of Assen but is still walkable. Would certainly return.

We stayed here for 2 night's for bsb at Assen , the location was good at night we had a walk into centre which took about 15mins for a meal and drinks , however we were alarmed to see Police at reception Sunday morning as 3 motorcycle had been stolen from carpark and was told the CCTV was not good so we left are bike in front of reception doors

Great hotel and facilities

I've stayed here before but this time I actually got time to use the facilities. The gym was good although some of the equipment can do with updating. The shower is a communal one in the gym, so if you're a bit shy use the one in your room if you are staying in the hotel :) There is s swimming pool (free) and bowling (only free if you pay for the complete package). Ice Rink is currently being refurbished so was not available for use.

Other than that the room was good, with comfy beds and nice bathroom, and there was a in room safe. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good, with a choice of hot or continental. The hot was more warm than hot, but ok.

We only stayed here one night, but found that the room was a comfortable size. Shower was powerful. Shampoo provided but no shower gel, just soap. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of cold dishes but hot selection could have been a wider variety - not a lot to choose from (only a minor point though). Lots of facilities inside the hotel which is only a small part of a larger complex. There is a very impressive large ice skating rink, giant swimming pool, bowling, gym facilities and restaurants etc. You could easily spend a whole day and not leave the hotel :)

Lots of parking. Barriers seperate the hotel specific parking from the main facilities car park, although I managed to park in the facilities car park (which was quite full).

THe hotel has amazing facilities, there are a variety of areas to eat and drink and relax. The hotel is extremely child friendly, due to the amount of space available. I would advise to book an outside table in the steakhouse if eating in the evening with children as any noise will be diluted and there is a little play area in view of the tables. The staff were lovely. We had an issue with the lock on the room door which although it took quite a long time was dealt with satisfatorily. We will most definitely stay there on our next visit to Assen. But do beware although we booked a baby cot the price was not included in the price paid here and neither was the tourism tax, this added an additional €30 to our bill, however it was worth the price.

We spend only a very short night at the hotel, arriving late at night and having to leave the next morning. Once my girls (9 and 11) found out about the swimming pool, they had to discover that area the next morning; The front desk staff was very nice to allow us an extra half hour to check out so everyone was happy . Well done !!

Used the hotel as a base for the Assen Youth Cycling Tour.
Very convenient as it was right next to where the event was based.
Hotel exceeded our expectations and proved to be an excellent choice.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The air con worked well and was well used especially as the weather was hot all week.
Had free WiFi which was very useful and seemed to work without any problems.
Had access to the swimming pool and other sports facilities included in our room price which again was well used especially after a full days cycle racing.
The buffet breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Had no issues with the coffee machines as mentioned in other reviews.
Had a couple if meals in the steakhouse which were also very good.
Enjoyed our stay and plan to go back again for next years tour.
They also never objected to keeping the bikes in the rooms. Very cyclist friendly.

Perfect for Assen circuit

We arrived in Assen on the Saturday of race day; Sat Nav fully tuned in and ready to go. Unfortunately the road we were instructed to drive down was closed, and so we parked at the circuit.

Hotel is very clean, perfectly acceptable, functional and with good facilities. I would say it's perhaps a little pricey; although you pay for the convenience of being near to the track.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food next door in the restaurant was again, very pleasing.

Enjoyable stay

Stayed with my family on a bed and breakfast basis. Friendly and helpful staff and overall the hotel was in a good, clean condition. Nice swimming pool for the kids with a water slide (!), although there was some renovation work going on at the time. The games area could do with some updating (although playing arcade games from my youth was some nice nostalgia), but this is minor and they are all free to play. There are also 2 pool tables in a separate area of the hotel which are free to play and in decent condition. The room itself was clean and nicely presented with an excellent shower, although the beds are very hard from a British perspective. Food in the restaurant was excellent and they were very good with the kids, although expect to pay hotel prices. Rain stopped play on the mini golf, and we didn't have time to try the gym or the daytime activities they run (again free!) but there seemed to be plenty going on. Overall and enjoyable stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Assen.

Well located for Assen TT circuit - just a short ride/drive away. You could possibly walk it aswell, but I never tried it. Also reasonably near to Assen town itself, which is reached in about 20mins on foot. Never got round to using any of the hotel facilities, so can't really comment on them. Hotel staff friendly & efficient.

Hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in de Bonte Wever. Mooie kamer, vriendelijk personeel, lekker gegeten bij restaurant Dapper. Ook het zwembad was een succes, alleen jammer dat ze in de toch al drukke periode van de vakantie ook nog mensen van buiten het hotel het zwembad binnenlaten, het leek daardoor wel een mierenhoop.

Nür im Badezimmer fehlte ein Rückwärtsspiegel, für Frauen wichttig für die Haaren.
Und weil es ein laufende Buffet is braucht man kein laute Musik, mit Kindern ist das extra Lärm.
Essen war gut.
Schwimmbad hat leider kein Tiefbad um Bahnen zu schwimmen.

Das Hotel und das Personal war sehr schön. Wir hatten kein All inklusive und deswegen war alles sehr teuer. Als wir unsere Getränke geholt haben, wurde uns gesagt, dass wir coints dafür benötigen. Diese bekommt man nur an einem Automaten an dem man mit Karte zahlen kann. Etwas blöde Organisation.
Im allgemeinen kann man sagen, dass wir uns etwas Minderwertig gefühlt haben, weil wir kein All inklusive hatten.

Geschikt voor jong en oud.

Boeken:
Let op bij boeken; via hotels.nl heb je alleen een kamer met ontbijt, geen all inclusive. Daar kwam ik helaas pas later achter.

Inchecken ging wat onklantvriendelijk, want alle kamers waren vol, terwijl ik toch echt al ruim een half jaar van te voren had geboekt. Blijkbaar gaat dit op binnenkomst. Je kon vanaf 3 uur inchecken en wij waren er rond 5 uur. Kregen een kamer helemaal achterin, erg ver lopen naar het restaurant en zwembad end.

Hotel:
Schone kamer, al was de vloer in de badkamer nat toen we aankwamen. Dus of net schoongemaakt of...?
Goeie bedden, netjes.
Airco/ventilatie maakte wel veel herrie, dus uitgezet ivm lawaai.
Kamers zijn ontzettend gehorig, je hoort iedereen die over de gang loopt.
Zwembad was leuk voor het hele gezin. Inclusief sauna, glijbaan, buitenbad, golfslagbad.

Eten:
Ontbijt prima, avondeten in restaurant Dapper genuttigd, ook prima (dus wel apart voor betaald).

Kidsmenu bij snackcorner was teleurstellend. Alleen een pakje caprisun, een sticker en een dunne tosti voor 7 euro. Friet en een speelgoedje ontbrak.

Algemeen: een leuk verblijf gehad voor 2 nachten. Genoeg te doen, oa bowling, curling, kids speelhoek, zwemmen, sauna, elke avond live muziek. Geschikt voor jong en oud.

Zimmer, Service, Frühstück alles bestens, aber leider ging die Heizung im Zimmer nicht und 18 Grad sind einfach zu kalt.
Sie waren bemüht, hat aber leider nichts gebracht. Nach dem dritten Versuch hat die nette Servicekraft es geschafft, die Klimaanlage zu resetten und dann war der letzte Vormittag ein bisschen wärmere Temperatur drin.

Wij wisten niet dat dit een all-inclusive hotel is. Nu liepen er mensen met een bandje om hun pols waardoor je onbeperkt kon eten en drinken. Het kwam op ons over als een soort vreet schuur met weinig klantvriendelijkheid. Een gezellig hoekje om te zitten om rustig wat te drinken of eten was er niet. Voor ons geen 2e keer om hier te overnachten. Het je een gezin met kleine kinderen dan zou je hier goed kunnen verblijven.

Leuk als je van all-inclusive houdt

Prima hotel met bedden die ok zijn, fijne douche en alles schoon.
Ontbijt lijkt heel uitgebreid, maar viel ons wat tegen.
Het is een enorme locatie, waarbij alles onder één dak zit (zwembad, bowling, bars, restaurants). Leuk als je van all inclusive houdt -bij hotels.com niet te boeken-, maar als je er niet van houdt, alleen boeken voor een overnachting en dan snel op pad in de omgeving!

Holiday Resort with many kids and teens

A nice and huge holiday resort with many different possible activities (e.g. Minigolf, bowling, billiards)
The check in was quick and uncomplicated, the room was clean and had everything you need, space, TV, shower etc
The wellness area was quite small and it seemed like it's available for the public, therefore a lot of kids and teens were running and jumping around. Due to COVID the use of saunas and steam bath was not possible although one sauna was open with a restriction for persons using it.
The same for the whirlpool and there were only two people allowed, so you could hardly make it into one of them
The fitness area was really huge and well equipped but has different opening times so if you are thinking about booking the hotel because of the fitness area make sure to check the times!
Breakfast was good as well although it had been quite late (09:15-10:45), with a lot of different variations of pancakes, eggs etc.

Parking on site is available and for free and in my opinion it should never be a problem to get a spot there.

Godt hotel i Assen

Godt hotel, håndterede COVID-19 morgenmad buffet eksemplarisk. Eneste ankepunkt er lyset på værelset, som er svagt og søvnigt, i særdeleshed på toilettet
