Wi-fi connection was weak and spotty. There was a constant smell of dirty frying oil for fried fish, day and night, as the rooms are above the restaurant. We were awoken at 6am by loud workers and a squeaky loud ladder working in the courtyard. Only one toilet and one shower for multiple rooms.

I liked the oldy Worldy feel of this place, the sloping floors were fun in the middle of the night, I also liked the price, but a bit of a pain to have to leave your room in middle of the night to take a leak, but hey it’s cheap.
We also dined there and the food was really good, couldn’t eat all the ribs, it was a monstrous amount! 😁. Would I stay again…yes!

This is a lovely little inn and staying in such a historic building was a great experience. I loved the wonky floors, low ceilings, antique furniture and art. It's also in a great location right on the main square, although this means it can be a little noisy outside. I thought the price was good value for money too. This is not the place to stay if you have any kind of mobility problem or you really care about privacy, though. The stairs are nearly vertical, more like a ladder than a staircase, and pretty challenging to get a suitcase up. Obviously, there's no lift, as it's a medieval building. And there is just one toilet and one shower shared between all guests, with the sink out on the landing, so you do come into a lot of contact with your neighbours at Weis Stue! The walls between the rooms are also very thin, so you can hear even if people are just talking normally. I didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant downstairs, but it looks lovely. I would definitlely stay here again when I'm in Ribe.

We loved this place! As advertised, it’s several hundred years old, located in a city that is much older than that, across the street from a church founded around the year 800. Ribe is really marvelous, and the Weis Stue is a unique and ideally located spot to explore it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. If you love history and want to feel a part of it, we highly recommend it.

The 1704 Weis Stu is a historic inn on the main square in Ribe. It is a halftimbered inn with restaurant on the ground floor and rooms on the 1st floor. Nothing like waking up to the cathedral bells tolling at 8 am each morning.

It is a very lovely listed building, but staying here comes at a price as there is only one shower to share between all the rooms. There are other toilets fortunately in the building. The rooms are nice, clean, the bed was fine, large and comfortable - the main problem is as there is little to no insulation it can be noisy and we were woken by banging doors etc through the night. If you're a heavy sleeper it's fine - otherwise make sure you drink plenty of ale before you hit the sack! It's cheaper than other places nearby and worth a night but I wouldn't recommend more than one purely due to the inconvenience of the single shower for all the guests and noisiness. Also you can't see anything at night the bulbs are about 3 lumens which is less than a dying firefly so dont. Expect to read anything without going blind - I'm not sure if this is to give the feel of medieval sleeping arrangements or whether they simply don't want you to see anything! The staff were nice but the food was definitely overpriced and for me disappointingly mediocre, actually I ordered ribs and they were one of the worst I've had - very tough and dry I wouldn't eat there. All in all it's an experience, nice for a night but no more and the food is definitely nothing to go there for.

Weis Stue is a stunning inn - rustic and quirky, rich with local history, and the staff were lovely and perfectly hospitable. We ate in the restaurant two of our three nights there and each dish was delicious, with tasty beers from the local brewery. Each dining area was different with its own story, and absolutely loved the old stairwell and antique decor. The old town location was fantastic for walking to any site of interest. Our visit to Ribe was one of our top - if not the top - highlights of our European holiday. Fingers crossed we can stay again one day!!

This was a cute inn with a restaurant on the ground floor. The building itself was cute but not very comfortable. The stairs to get to the guest rooms were so steep it almost felt like a ladder. The floors were uneven and the room that I stayed in was on a slant so I felt like I was going to fall out of the bed all night. The guests above me sounded like they were going to fall through my cieling whenever they walked around. The building really doesn't feel stable.

A perfect slice of Danish history.

Exactly as described. We were in room 4 overlooking the square. A few rooms shared the loo and shower room but there was never a queue and all was clean and respectful.
The place is quirky, old and wonderful. We left our car 1km away at Lidl and just took overnight bags in. Dinner downstairs was excellent - huge portions, and a small dining room shared with 1 other couple and 2 singles.

Place is historic, violating every building code known to man. Absolutely no concern about guests luggage. Impossible steep, narrow tread stairs lighting is dimmer than a candle, like reading lights. No apparent fire safety. I know it is old, but things built in the 700s can be brought up to meet todays concern with safety and hospitality.

Geat experience. Check-in was quick and easy, the proprietor was freindly. Hotel is on the main plaza with a view of the cathedral from the windows of our room. Easy access, convenient to restaurants and shopping. Would definitaly stay there again.

This quirky lodging is right in the centre of Ribe. It has what its website says (shared toilet/ shower facilities) so expectations were met. However the quirky factor was exceeded, a tiny doorway from the restaurant leads up to a creeky, crooked landing. We loved it. A coffee machine or facilities in the hall/rooms would have made it perfect.

Earlier reviews showed some extreme emotions regarding this hotel. Personally, the opportunity to stay in a lodging from the 1600’s was something I couldn’t pass up. I was not disappointed. The restaurant downstairs added to the ambiance, with the sounds of dishes clattering, clanging bottles, and patrons reveling. We even heard the night watchman chant his tidings up the stairwell at 10PM. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you may get the feeling you are at The Three Broomsticks Inn/pub in Hogsmeade. I did! The individual rooms have quaint names and are dark and rustic but the bathroom is modern. For the price, it was a very enjoyable stay on our journey through Denmark.

A lovely inn, dating back to the 16th century. Located in the central square of Ribe, it's a perfect place to stay if looking for a more 'traditional' experience. It has a modernised bathroom and shower-room which are shared between the eight rooms. The house is very creaky as you move around, and it also has very low ceilings and steep stairs!

A very nice little restaurant with a rooms. I stayed for one night as I was just passing through. On arrival I was met with German efficiency, even though I wasn't in Germany yet! The building is very old so you must expect it to be very rustic. The rooms are simple and have lots of Betsy character. there are no ensuite facilities but there is a good bathroom shower toilet. I ate restaurant and it was very good. As a solo traveller happy with my stay I suspect if travelling with my wife she would expect mo4e luxury.

It is a very old house. You must not be too tall otherwise you have problems with entering the bedrooms. But it is a very nice experience. You must realize there are 8 bedrooms and 1 shower for all these rooms. We werer there with family and then it is no problem. It has a very special atmosphere!

Cute little hotel, liked it for the novelty and history. Would not stay here if you have any mobility issues, as there were two very steep sets of stairs to get to my room and getting luggage up was abparticular challenge. Room was comfortable and well furnished. Check in was with the lady working in the restaurant at the time. Only one bathroom and one shower to share between all the rooms, which is a little short. Overall a pleasant stay.

It's not everyday you get to stay in a 400-year-old inn. Everyone should probably experience it once in their lifetime! One can't expect comfort at the same level as a fancy new hotel. We stayed for one night in a room facing out onto the cobblestone street. The coziness and ambiance of this inn (tucked in with similar-aged buildings on the street) was over the top. The room was adequate and the bed was comfortable. Wandering through the cobblestone streets and viewing the cathedral was amazing. There was a nearby bakery that was open early morning to our delight. We didn't try the restaurant at the inn due to our late arrival and early departure.

We felt that one night was definitely enough due to the shared bathroom - 1 toilet & 1 shower on the first floor for use of all hotel guests (although there are 2 more toilets on the main floor which we did use when the shared bathroom was full). We needed to have the windows open due to the heat (in August) and unfortunately there were a lot of noisy people when the bars closed, but otherwise the town was very quiet. Anyone with mobility issues should be aware that there is not any parking in the old town, so we had to park quite far away in a public parking lot. Also, because the stairs (basically a ladder) to the hotel rooms is so narrow and steep, we chose to leave our suitcases in the car and just bring smaller bags with our overnight clothes and toiletries. Bottom line: fun experience for 1 night.

We booked 2 nights, and knew in advance that we would have a shared bathroom. However, you share 1 very small toilet and 1 bathroom with 8 rooms! This place is very aithentic, built in the 1600's, with cardboard walls and squeaky \"moving\" floors. The beds were terrible and almost impossible to get out of. The nearest parking is at least a mile away. The stairs are almost impossible to climb and get down on. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was nice, but would not stay here again.

Det har været en meget fin oplevelse at få lov til at bo i en bygning fra 1658. Og restauranten var så umådelig gammel og meget fin.
Men desværre havde man ikke gjort meget ud af værelserne.
Belysning på værelset var meget dårlig og vi måtte tænde tv’et for at få lidt ekstra lys.

Når man først er kommet opad hønsestigen, finder man de sjoveste små helt unikke værelser. De skæve gulve og gamle møbler er en oplevelse i sig selv. Sengene er også udmærkede. Toilettet skal man nærmest bakke ind på, men det er rent og pænt. Håndvask er på gangen og bad ved siden af.
Vi fik værelse lige over køkkenet, hvor der var en lavfrekvent brummen nedefra som generede os, da vi er ekstremt lysfølsomme. Da jeg spurgte om hvornår køkkenet lukkede og forklarede problemet, fik vi omgående tildelt et andet værelse. Personalet er meget imødekommende og venlige. Efter restauranten lukkede fik vi lov til at gå og kigge på de gamle flotte lokaler nedenunder. Hele stedet er en oplevelse, hvis man er historisk interesseret.
Stedet har en aftale med Hotel Dagmar overfor om tilkøb af morgenmad. Det benyttede vi os af.
I sommerhalvåret starter Ribes vægtere deres rundgang lige udenfor hoveddøren. Det kan varmt anbefales at gå med. Det tager cirka en time og er gratis.
Alt i alt får man hvad man betaler for, hvad angår overnatning. At stedet er en historisk oplevelse i sig selv, er for os helt klart en bonus!

Ganske undemærket værelse. Desværre virkelig dårlig belysning med kun tå små standerlamper og en vågelmape i loftet var det svært at læse om aftenen. Vi var rigtig glade for vores rum, som var Panelkammeret. Det var rigeligt stort med et hyggeligt udkig til starten af torvet. De skæve vinkler og ujævne flade i gulvet gav det hele en meget autentisk og hyggelig oplevelse af fortidens kroværelser. Omgivelserne kan dog ikke anbefales for gangbesværede eller svagtseende.Det var pænt og nydeligt. Vi fik også en upåklagelig ind- og udtjekning, præget af imødekommende venlighed. Jeg har været i Ribe før, men kroen gav lige det lille ekstra herlige!

Beliggenhed kan ikke være bedre. Weis Stue er en historisk bygning hvor man føler sig hensat til 1700årene. Alt er derefter. Knirkende, skæve gulve og charme. MEN. Sengen er ikke for god og svær at komme op fra. De gamle væg til væg tæpper på fællesarealerne er gamle og uhumske og burde skiftes ud. Den meget stejle hønsestige op til værelserne må man leve med. Tag IKKE en stor kuffert med. Den er besværlig at få bugseret op. Pak i mindre bagagestykker. Personalet er venligt og udeserveringen fin og enormt hyggelig.

Für uns war es eine besondere und spanne de Erfahrung, in einem historischen Hotel aus dem Jahr 1600 zu übernachten. Es hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen, auch die steile Treppe,die zu den Zimmern führt.
Alle Mitarbeiter waren ausgesprochen freundlich, und im gemütlichen Restaurant haben wir sehr gut gegessen.

Som at sove på min mormors gamle loftsværelse! Alt er småt, skævt og charmerende med knirkende gulve og toilet og bad på gangen. Det er absolut ikke relevant for gangbesværede, da trappen er meget stejl og smal. Til gengæld er det som at træde ind i en helt anden tid. Fantastisk beliggenhed lige ved Domkirken. Med skæve gulve og charme

Man ved at man går ind til danmarks ældste kro, så skæve men med charme værelser på 1 sal. Bad og toilet på gangen, men det afspejler prisen også. Så en sjov og god oplevelse.

Maden er helt perfekt. 😊

Bo i historiske omgivelser

Meget fint ophold centralt i Ribe, og spændende bygning med mange hundrede år på bagen. Man kan tilkøbe morgenmad da der er aftale med nabo hotellet lige overfor. Det er både godt og billigt.
