Beautiful home and delicious breakfast!
William
The accommodation was a secluded house set in its own grounds. The room was very comfortable with a large ensuite. Regrettably the Jacuzzi element of the spa bath was not working. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We used this location to be our base before we climbed Carrauntoohil's the highest mountain in Ireland.
Candace
Gorgeous house with a great snooker room/lounge for guests. Generous breakfast.
Bas
We were sleeping in a separate little house on the large estate. It was clean and spacious for 3 people. But the reason for only 3 stars: super loud music (the equivalent of a music festival…) on Saturday morning from a barn with cross-fit sessions…; multiple woodlice in the rooms (probably because of the house’s location near horses); fertiliser spread against the building (dry pallets, not fresh…) by tractor working on the adjacent field; very small washing basin without space for toiletries (the sink in kitchen was more convenient). Some more consideration is needed from the property owners to assure a truly pleasant stay.
Tiffani
Very peaceful environment with no pressure to do anything or be anywhere. Local shops were a drive away.
The owners were so friendly and helpful when we showed up from our disaster travels. They helped us get food and to finally get our rental car…a must for travel. So thankful to them.

Staff/owners were great and very accommodating. However beds need replacing (very uncomfortable in room 5) and bathrooms need some repair ie difficult to get water working in shower and light over sink not working. Tub also unavailable for use. That being said, enjoyed our visit. Breakfast was superb!

Lovely secluded spot. Shower looked amazing but could not figure out how to make the temperature of water acceptable. Great breakfast.

What an amazing home to stay in. The owners were very kind and the room was perfect
Donna
Stayed 2 nights on our recent visit. B&B is beautiful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with nice variety. The place is a bit remote and accessible via tiny back roads. Watch out that map apps may have to go off the main road many km earlier than necessary. Walk around the property was very pleasant. Would recommend.
Shobha
Beautiful property. Great breakfast. Tasty with lots of choices. Host was amazing.

Beautiful B & B …owners are wonderful and very hospitable…breakfast was excellent and the Lounge was a great place to sit, relax, and have a whiskey or two 😉 would definitely stay there again
Trish
The entire staff was incredibly kind and accommodating! The room was clean and well kept! We enjoyed our short stay!

Somewhat disappointing
Overall, the place was good, but a bit shabby. Paper was peeling in the bathroom, the lights flickered and the towel rack fell apart. We could not get hot water in the afternoon, and had lukewarm showers in the morning. WiFi and phone coverage were terrible.

Huge rooms, good breakfast and a fabulous games room/bar to chill. It was great to help yourself from the bar (honesty box), read old newspapers from 50 years ago, and play snooker and other games. Full of character and really friendly host. Would highly recommend and even though it's a little off the beaten track it's only 30 mins to the centre of Cork.

Dissapointed
We were very excited to stay at The Cannaway house as the photos and write up were beautiful. I love staying at BnBs over hotels usually, but we were left a bit disappointed on this trip with BnBs for several reasons.
1. We chose Hotels.com as we can choose to pay ahead or oay at the properrty. We chose to oay at the property with my husbands \"Vacation \" credit card. With busy lives I did the bookings and plannings and he did the paying..... however the BnB. charged the credit card on file 36 hrs before check in. I even sent a message stating we would be using a different credit card. The host was pleasant enough and explained she couldn't switch it. It was the second time this happened to us with hotels.com while on this trip, however the other BnB was able to cancel and charge the correct card.
2. No Air Conditioner, it was so humid! and the windows would inky open and inch.
3. The carpet was not vacuumed and the bathroom shower had black mold all on the outside. I almost wanted to leave! But it was already late.
We did have a nice breakfast.

Hosts Francis and Jacqui were excellent, they provided a good rundown of the area and what it offered. Rooms were spacious and amenities good.

Beautiful rural setting
Great location near to Cork airport. Beautiful rural setting and a very nice traditional old property. The snooker table was great too!!

Beautiful 18th century farmhouse. Restored by the current owner sound 16 years ago. Friendly welcome and hearty breakfast. Beautiful views across open rolling countryside. Easy access to west cork. Recommended

Loved the property, the hosts and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. When we checked in, we were told that the spa tub in the room was not operational. I didn't mind as it was too large, and I prefer a quick shower anyway. The problem happened when I got in the shower and got scalded by the hot water. There was no cold water to temper it with, so we wound up washing off in the sink.

Lovely rural B&B! Beautiful farm scenery. Jackie and Frank were wonderful hosts. Rooms were nice, warm homemade breakfast, very homey! We loved our stay.
michael
Grounds very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed looking out my bedroom window at the horses. The room was bigger than I expected. The breakfast gave you choices and was very good.
Jacques
This place is isolated, charming and very quiet. The room and bathroom are huge with high ceilings. The bed is a bit small for two and the TV minuscule. The breakfast however is a huge plus.
Malva
Charming home out in the country. The hosts were very welcoming and gracious despite our last-minute reservation and arrival later than their usual check-ins. We were given a triple room (double twin) which included a bathroom with enormous jetted tub and separate huge jetted shower. We used only the usual shower, but it sure looked luxurious. Delicious hot breakfast.
Note that this property is not near anything else. You need a vehicle and will drive through lovely winding roads. You need to eat dinner elsewhere. We had a nice meal in Macroom at Granville’s Bar & Grill.

Very nice B&B in the country. Nice host and awesome breakfast. Some of the hardwares like toilets, faucet, mattress could use some upgrades but I also understand that the host may not want to overdo it to keep the vibe. Anyhow, recommended!
Selestine
Outstanding stay!
Amazing stay! We would 100% recommend, the host was very nice and the rooms were very clean. The stay wasnt too far from cork city either.
Sandy
Very nice hosts and delicious food!

What a lovely home in an equally lovely setting. The hosts are so nice and we enjoyed our delicious homemade breakfast. Highly recommend
Mark
Nice quiet property in the countryside. Nice rooms and excellent host with great breakfast options.
Rich
Nice quiet setting in the Irish countryside. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was kind and accommodating. A bit removed from the mainstream, but that's exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend!
Kevin
Country manor house at its best. Clean, quiet and nicely furnished. I’d stay here a week if I had the time.
George
Amazing Irish Country Home
We had a wonderful time here. The house is beautiful and our room was spacious. I was hot and the hosts were kind enough to find a fan. Jackie, our host, was so friendly and charming. We Loved the bar (which operates on an honor system) and is so charming. We met the horses and their three dogs. Breakfast was wonderful. I Highly recommend staying here!!
Prindle
This is a beautiful restored country property, with magnificent views and easy access to the town of Macroom. The breakfast was delicious, but coffee and tea service was available in the upstairs hallway as well as in each room. Additionally, there is an informal family area with a pool table, bar, and games.
Improvements would include better beds and better lighting in the bathroom. Great value, all in all.

Trip to Southern Ireland
This was a surprisingly nice B&B outside Cork. A little out of the way but great signage made it easy to locate. Welcoming staff, beautiful room and great breakfast! The bed was not the most comfortable, but we slept well. The surrounding area was gorgeous!
Kirsten
Old manor and spacious home. Great breakfast. Good value in lovely countryside

Wonderful Manor House... you feel like you are a wealthy Lord. Jackie was very hospitable. Zara was a lovely Irish angel and a great help to her dad. Enjoyed our stay.
Joseph Victor
Very nice B&B. The management was very welcoming and the big house is beautiful!
Kristie
We were put in the gate house which is not part of the main house as advertised. It is dirty, run down, no breakfast, freezing cold, old/worn out mattresses, etc. There is no mention of the property being reserved as different than all the pictures provided. Definitely not a 4 star property.
Kevin
Beautiful setting! Definitely off the beaten path, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the bonus room with a wood stove and comfortable seating! Breakfast is made to order, wonderful hospitality!
Sherry
Beautiful home, very clean and hospitable proprietor!
Patricia
The experience was very nice, beautiful home and property and hosts were lovely. Negatives mainly was it was far out to Cork, no lift in house and bedrooms were 2 flights up and shower needed work. Hosts were very accommodating carrying bags upstairs
John
Terrific stay . Top class

A beautiful peaceful property, nothing too much, amazing amenities - with a wonderful onsite “pub” and snooker table! Bed very comfortable!
We had room 2- double- excellent size and room 4- triple room- again excellent size.
Missed restaurants in near town so got own food to take back- kindly helped with plates cutlery and then tidied up after us… very much appreciated - was really nothing too much trouble!
Loved meeting the family dogs too.
Thanks all

Lovely and quiet.
We were welcomed warmly at arrival and shown directly to our room. We had 3 adults and had a lovely, spacious room with a large jacuzzi tub. The property was large and well cared for. We would highly recommend this B&B.

Property was exquisite, hosts were very friendly. House is a little bit out of town so no restaurants within walking distance.
