Beautiful hotel. Breakfast was very nice. The room was very small and only 3 stars because we had an issue with ants in our room. Not just a couple, we woke up to our bags, clothes, bed being covered with ants. We went to the front desk but was told there was nothing they could do. We had to completely unpack and shake everything out into the shower and wash the ants down. Mind you we were finding ants for 2 days. It was by far the most bizarre part of our trip.

Amazing place to stay! The rooms are beautiful, actually the whole place is! The beds are probably the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in. Its all the little details that make this place so incredible. The artwork, the decor, the homemade breakfasts. The owners and staff were super nice!
The vila is in the small town of Colares and is a short drive into Sintra. We wanted to stay near Sintra, but wanted to avoid the crowds and Vila Vitorino was perfect! Great price for what you get, if we ever come back to Portugal, we will definitely stay here again. Loved it!!

A sweet little treasure.

This is a lovely little boutique hotel in a pretty, small town close enough for all the attractions of Sintra but far enough away that it is not swarming with tourists. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. There is a spotless swimming pool in a handkerchief sized garden full of beautiful flowers. The breakfast is delicious. Highly recommend! Just be aware that you will have to arrange your arrival time so someone can let you into the gated property. There is a little bell that is not immediately obvious to the left of the gate.

This is a beautiful place. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was behind a wall and after some initial worry about how to get in we saw a doorbell to ring. The staff is friendly and welcoming and he even brought drinks to our room for us as we were exhausted after bicycling in from Lisbon. Our quad room was plenty of space for our group.

Great location and just an Uber away to anywhere you need to go. Highly recommend the restaurant that was recommended to us by the hosts - Moinho Dom Quixote - the view and food were incredible.

The service was a disaster, pushing and creating tension. From luggage carriage, to decision on breakfast time, everything was meant to please the host and not the guests. Clearly someone who likes to be served and shouldn't be working in hospitality. The property is nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Vitorino. Pros: It is absolutely stunning. A house from the 16th century turned into a hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is luxurious, clean, beautiful. The breakfast was good. Cons: It is right on the corner of a very busy street. The traffic woke us up at 6am. The parking is very limited. If you come back late at night, there might be no space for you to park. The staff was not very kind or inviting. We went to check in at 2:50 pm. The whole place was locked. There was no one. When the reception person showed up, he was less than inviting. Started doing his chores and did not even talk to me for 10 min until the clock turned 3pm. So, in a summary, great place but staff can work on being more welcoming. :)

Loved this place! Lots of character and interesting decor, comfy bed, nice bathroom, fantastic breakfast spread, decent Wi-Fi, secure parking and was a great base camp to explore Sintra. But the owner and staff were the best part. I had a terrible migraine one day and they were bending over backwards to try and help me and offered ice packs & medication, and asked how I was the next day. It’s hard to be sick away from home, and to have them be that nice and compassionate meant a lot to me. I would have left 5 stars even if I hadn’t been sick, but know you’ll be in good hands with really nice people.

Vila Vitorino is an extremely unusual property. Sumptuous and luxurious decor abounds in a restored chateau-style home. there are several beautifully decorated common rooms that feel like you might be a minor member of the royal family. There is a lovely little pool and seating area. the garden and grounds are charming. Our room was beautiful, bright. comfortable beds, stylish seating area, rain-head shower with amazing water pressure, heated towel rack. We had a rental car so the parking was very very helpful. The staff and owner couldn't have been kinder. Breakfast is delicious and served in a beautiful room. To get around we booked a taxi that met us at the Vila and we walked to most of the things we wanted to see and then took a taxi home. It was so worth the stay even if you are out of the immediate sintra central by a little bit.
The place is worth a visit. I'd like to go back.The area around the vila, colares, is a lovely place with great food just a few minutes drive down the road - souldough pizza, amazing pasta, sushi.

Absolutely beautiful immaculate house with a fabulous collection of eclectic art. Mr Vitorino was hugely welcoming and accommodating despite us arriving midday and leaving early the next morning (left a fabulous breakfast for us which we very much appreciated). We had an amazing stay at Vila Vitorino, the room was amazing with a classic design, beautiful chandeliers and views of the mountains. We loved the eye for detail in the house and the welcoming service from the staff!

It's the small things that made our stay even better: being offered a glass of (port) wine in beautiful wine glasses upon arrival, being offered some tea when we came back cold from the beach, a very comfy bed and an amazing-amazing breakfast with the best fresh apple pie!

We had a tiny issue with the shower not getting hotter (it did get warm but not super warm) but once we mentioned it to the staff, they worked immediately to change and improve this!

We had an outstanding stay at vila Vitorino and would definitely recommend to stay here!

Very classy place, 5 star ! Small enough to make it personal. Staff & owner lovely people, kept checking with us throughout our Oct / Nov 14 night stay.

When the weather changed for the worse the staff warmed our room ready for our return in the evenings. Breakfast, again personal - great coffee! and cakes.

I would recommend this Hotel, for the quality, friendly service and its close location to many of the places, beaches you must visit while in Sintra

Great villa located just outside of Sintra in a less busy area. Villa is beautifully renovated and quite comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was just perfect, plenty to choose from, fresh and so delicious. Luis is a wonderful host and goes the extra mile for his guests. Would Highly and Completely recommend staying here. The only minor downside is that we did hear some traffic from the street, however, the property itself is walled in and quite private. Just a wonderful and unique stay near Sintra and Cascais.

It's a very nice painstakingly-refurbished inn with lots of nice touches. Breakfast is excellent, the staff and host were wonderful. They kept giving us homemade treats.

It's fairly remote from the center of Sintra, so there's not much to do within easy walking distance. The parking lot is really small - it requires a lot of maneuvering to get into or out of a spot. There's a friendly cafe (not touristy) in easy walking distance - it had good Portuguese food.

Note: even in September (when we went), Sintra is swarming with tourists and people trying to get you to do their tours. Some people like that. We didn't.

A lovely gem of a hotel

This is such a nice boutique hotel located just a bit outside of the craziness of Sintra. The house has been lovingly restored with every detail taken into consideration. It was located in easy distance to many major attractions in the area which made it very convenient. The breakfasts are incredible and the staff was very welcoming. I would definitely stay there again.

Vila Vitorino - A lovely representation of Sintra

Room - The attention to details really amazed me. Every corner in the room and around the house seemed to be really well maintained. The room was always spotlessly cleaned when I first arrived and each time after I return.

Location - It is located in a residential area which I was told was closer to the countryside. There is a good restaurant nearby (about 7-10 minutes) and I really appreciated it when the host, Mr. Vitorino, called in my reservation when I arrived late in the evening (flight delays) and still had to have my dinner. He also was kind to give me a pot of tea and my welcome treat of pastries. Although Vila Vitorino is not very close to public transportation, I was able to get around by Uber just fine. The location is quiet and this is what is more important for me.

Amenities - The facilities were all in good order and I observed that everything was meticulously cleaned! I slept comfortably even during my first night. I also got inspired by the lovely décor in my bedroom and around Vila Vitorino, as well as the beautiful dinnerware and serving trays, that I'm already thinking of how to replicate some of these in my own home. :)
Side note: I often had trouble with my keys (They were the tricky traditional ones which probably I'm no longer used to and more of my issue with 'old' keys rather the hotel's fault.) but Mr. Vitorino and his staff were always available and very understanding whenever I had difficulty making the keys work (which I did several times).Bre

My husband and I stayed (2) nights here in May,2018. 5-star accommodations at a very reasonable price. The surrounding area, historical sites and beautiful drive made the trip even more special. The Owner/Host will make you feel right at home and his special attentions to detail (i.e. cuisine, decorating, luxury bedding, furnishing, etc. etc.) is so appreciated! Do not hesitate to book a stay here you will not regret it! We will stay here again on our next trip to Portugal. I’ve already told all my friends state side and travel agents about this fabulous place.

Tips: Do give advanced notice of your estimated arrival time (gated house and you will need access to enter). The front door key can be a little tricky, I recommend trying it before you leave and ask for pointers if you have any issues unlocking the door.
