Beautiful resort!

Beautiful resort! It’s away from crowds and traffic, situated in the countryside. Restaurant is very upscale. Sitting on the restaurant patio and looking at the rolling hills is an excellent way to spend an evening. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and plentiful. The resort is located at the end of a one lane road, so one must stay alert when driving in and out!

We love Il Verreno!

There are so many well-deserved positive things to say about Il Verreno that this is not a short review.
The setting is peaceful and magical, high above the Ambra Valley with views across orchards, olive groves and vineyards to wooded hills - best seen from the swimming pool!
The historic buildings have been restored with great care and furnished with striking taste. The extensive public seating areas and library show the comfort of guests is more important than profit.
The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. The bed was unimaginably comfortable. There was a decent sized refrigerator too.
The choice and quality of food at breakfast was better than I can remember anywhere.
The food in the restaurant is full of imaginative surprises and has a deserved high reputation. The wine list offers many great options for all lovers of Tuscan wines.
The staff are unfailingly professional, polite, efficient and friendly. We liked them!
Ambra village is a short distance away. Small, charming and the home of the Notti Ambra on summer Tuesday evenings - not to be missed.
Bucine train station is not far with trains to Arezzo and Florence.
Il Verreno is not the cheapest nor the most expensive place to stay in Tuscany. We felt it was fairly priced for the high standards it offers.
The sincerest compliment we can give is that we intend to come back for a longer stay.

We could not be happier with our stay at Il Verreno. We arrived late on our first night and they were able to hold our table in the restaurant for dinner.
My husband had Coeliac disease and not once did we have to tell the staff, they had a note in file and every single one of them remembered for the whole trip.
They made changes to the menu for him, ensuring he had gluten free bread and pasta etc.
the service was excellent throughout the hotel, the hotel was clean and the rooms are beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Tuscan area.

We stayed at Il Verreno for our anniversary at the start of July and it was absolutely stunning! So beautiful and peaceful, the room was lovely (we had a suite) and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. We especially enjoyed eating at the Restaurant- the food was amazing! I'd highly recommend staying here if you want a peaceful retreat and also to have a car so that you can also visit the neigbouring towns (we took advantage of day trips to Sienna and Florence). Thank you for a wonderful stay and we look forward to coming back again soon!

Tuscan villa dream

Such an amazing hotel. Beautiful location. We had a 2 bed suite as it was a last minute booking and was only option. WOW. Absolute gorgeous. Had own kitchen area. 2 huge bedrooms with en suite's.
The pool area was compact but the views!

The restaurant was incredibly. The quality and presentation 10/10. Ricardo and his team looked after us both nights we were there and they were excellent.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Go!

There could be better walking paths from park I g lot to your rooms so you can pull your suitcases. The steep hill to parking lot with luggage isn’t great.
As well better breakfast options.

The dining menu is absolutely fantastic and the scenery is fabulous.

Staff go above and beyond regardless of the time of day. 👏👏👏

Hidden Gem in secluded location

Nothing but wonderful things to say. Stunning views, great facilities and fantastic onsite restaurant. Staff went above and beyond for 5 star service. Comfortable rooms, gorgeous linens and great beds. The whole villa has been extensively modernized and renovated. You are out in the country but Siena is 35 minutes away, Florence 1 hr and plenty of things to see. Breakfast was delicious and huge variety. Cannot wait to return. Wifi was a little iffy and inconsistent but with the views and scenery you soon forgot.

Beautiful spot and people

This hotel is a hidden gem with breathtaking views from every window. Our stay included a scrumptious breakfast with cooked to order eggs. Francesca was our hostess. She couldn’t do enough for us. She was so gracious seeing to our every need. The restaurant on the premises was the best we’ve had in a Italy and we have eaten at Michelin star. I’m am sure there is a Michelin star in Cucina Donnaluisa’s future!

Amazing stay in Tuscany

Amazing property, the grounds and rooms exactly like the pictures. The food offerings are top class, with the restaurant serving the best pasta we had on this particular Italian getaway. Would definitely stay here again.

One point to note is that the pool can get busy when the villa is fully booked. There is no service by the pool but of course the staff are always around the restaurant area if you need something.

The best kept secret

If you are looking for an exquisite, friendly, quiet beautiful place in Tuscany then do not look any further than here. We had an amazing experience from the hospitality of Silvia, to the chef Maria and sue chef Keoma and Marco the waiters. You will not have any regrets. The food itself is an art form. The flavors are decadent and on point. The wines are from the region with no disappointments. I would return again without any reservations. Extremely good villa with good taste

Extremely good villa. They offer more than you pay compared with many villas in Tuscany. You can tell the owner sets a high-quality taste for the villa and she pays great attention on every details. Everything, like the room, the service, the food is perfectly well done. I live in Milan and sometimes go out for a short trip. This villa provides the best & friendly service by far I've ever visited in Italy. Silvia seems like offering a personal butler service (very much appreciated). Their restaurant ( Cucina Donnaluisa) , OMG, by far from your expectation. It is up to the Michelin level at a very reasonable price. You would not expect something up to that high level in the countryside! I think the management of this villa is a bit crazy. They only offer the best, either not to do it or do it FULL ON. We enjoyed our stay, thank you very much!

A true gem in Tuscany

What a phenomenal place, fully worth the praise it has received. We stayed in the Uccelli Suite, and it was without a doubt one of the best hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Beautifully decorated, respecting the vibe of the old house, the rooms were spacious, cozy and elegant at the same time. High ceilings and nice details to let your eyes rest at. It was a delight to sit by the window enjoying an afternoon coffee and look at the Tuscan green hills. Bed very comfortable, crisp linens, and good supporting pillows. The estate is a stylish setting inside out. Staff was wonderful all around, really welcoming.

Breakfast had a broad variety of options, with eggs and coffees served to the table. Cakes, sweet pieces, croissants etc and fruit in a separate table, a juice station, and separate tables for yoghurts and salty breakfast items. A very good continental breakfast. True luxury for me is always measured in fruits, and here that was fulfilled: kiwis and apricots cut in small pieces to have as a fruit salad or with yoghurt etc. The same goes for the fruit salad I ordered by the pool: good fresh pieces of kiwi, pineapple, nectarine and apricot. Loved it.

The restaurant a is a fine dining experience, with tasting menus and a la carte options. As a fine dining restaurant it was on the higher end of the price spectrum but not outrageous by any means. You get what you pay for. Top quality.

Pool area was calm, there is a bar menu service available from the pool bar throughout the day.

Beautiful Stay with Exceptional Service!

This property is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are huge, super comfortable, and the bed is pure luxury—perfect for a restful sleep. What truly stood out, though, was the kindness and outstanding service from the entire staff. I spent 5 days here with my parents and we had a wonderful time. I would love to come back!
