Review of Paradisus La Perla
I’ve stayed at Paradisus La Perla twice before and always had great experiences. Both times, I booked a Junior Suite Reserve with a nature view and was placed in the Reserve building, which is quiet and relaxing. Because of those positive visits, I chose the resort again for my 40th wedding anniversary and even upgraded to a Master Suite Reserve with a nature view six months in advance.
Unfortunately, this stay did not meet the standard I had come to expect. Instead of being placed in the Reserve building, I was given a room in the main building overlooking the main pool, which is extremely loud. I also did not receive turn-down service on the first night. When I asked to be moved to the Reserve building, I was told that only Junior Suites were available and that I would receive no credit for the downgrade, which was disappointing.
For my anniversary, I booked a romantic dinner for two at the La Perla pavilion. Unfortunately, a worker was power-washing the sidewalk about ten feet away during the meal, making it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. On top of that, the food arrived barely warm, likely because the waiter had to carry it from far away. Overall, the food quality seems to have gone down compared to past visits.
I will say that the staff remains friendly and helpful, which I truly appreciate. However, between the room issues, the noise, and the disappointing anniversary dinner, this stay fell short of the excellent experiences I once associated

The room was awesome, private pool for the Reserve was great. The service here was absolutely top-notch. Our concierge, Cynthia got us everything we could ever want or need and also went above and beyond with special surprises. She was fantastic! A shoutout to Alfredo at the Reseve area, he was so friendly and attentive. Daniel and Victor at the ocean side bar were amazing. We had the best time and the service definitely stood out compared to other places we have been. Feeling very thankful and blessed for the wonderful vacation!

The location is truly unbeatable — close enough to enjoy the vibrant town, outstanding local golf courses, and the breathtaking nearby cenotes, yet peacefully secluded for complete relaxation (and yes, the Quiet Zones actually allow you to \"Embrace the silence\"! Every amenity exceeded our expectations, from the pristine pools and luxurious beach beds to the numerous, diverse, and exceptional restaurants, each offering impeccable ambiance and presentation.

The property is spectacular. Everywhere we went was spotless and clean. The food was absolutely delicious and stood out from any other resort we have been to over the years. I was very pleased with everything we at the whole week!
We stayed in the Reserve and it was worth the extra $$ as we got even better service from the staff and especially our concierge Eduardo M.
All the wait staff was very friendly but Marco and Carlos at Lemon Fish were particularly fun and attentive.
Our room was always cleaned at our preferred time of day which hasn’t always been the case at other resorts.
We will definitely be returning to the Paradisus for another wonderful vacation.

The resort is beautiful and spotless. We had a bit of a hiccup at check in but it was resolved quickly. Food was typical all inclusive-good enough, not great. The beach was cleaned of all sargassum each morning. It’s a lovely walk each way along the beach. Staff could not be any kinder or more helpful. As usual, the Expedia “resort credit” isn’t a credit rather is a book of coupons for small amounts off exorbitantly priced spa services.

There some things that were great some that were not. We have had butler/concierge at other resorts and they were so good this one non existent. The only reason to consider the reserve is for the exclusive restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Main pool is big fun if that the vibe your looking for. Overall customer service was not even close to that of an excellence property.

The room was fantastic. Very well furnished and kept. Staff came once or twice to room to replace drinks in mini bar. The buffet restaurant offered a wide variety of foods and some cooked to order. The other restaurants within the resort were disappointing. The bartender staff at both beach bar, and pool bar could use some improvements, the servers were all much friendlier. Private events happening at pool area and other locations of hotel displaced other guests and excluded us from enjoying those areas. Overall it was not the 5 star experience we were anticipating.

I really enjoyed my stay at La Paradisus Adults only. From the beautiful lobby to the delicious food - it is one of the nicest resorts I’ve been to - compatible to the Royal Hideaway and Excellence. Service was excellent and the cleaning ladies were so so great. The only feedback I’d give is that I should have been informed that some restaurants were on the family side. I did not enjoy the Italian restaurant because it was way way too loud with kids. More on this when booking my reservations would be useful. Also I missed most of the fun activities because the tv screens were never updated for the adults only and when I would scan in the adults only actives never showed . This was very very disappointing as a solo traveller . Next time a printout for the week on the room I would want -

Our stay was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean, well maintained and house keeping staff were prompt to cleanup every day. The dining options were also good. Some of the restaurants like Flora could do with an actual Mediterranean menu since it was advertised as such. The staff was very hospitable and responsive. We really enjoyed and stay. Thanks.

Unfortunately, this resort did not meet our expectations, especially considering we stayed during Christmas and New Year’s and paid extra for an upgrade to The Reserve, which was not worth the money. The Reserve area was just as quiet and uneventful as the rest of the resort, with no meaningful perks to justify the added cost.

The biggest issue was the lack of entertainment and overall energy. The resort was not lively at all, even on New Year’s Eve. The DJ with the violin played repetitive, boring music, and the vibe felt forced rather than celebratory. They even charged for tables to enter the New Year’s event, yet failed to create a fun or festive adult-only celebration, which is what we expected for an adults-focused resort experience.

Service throughout the stay was very slow, and the hotel felt clearly understaffed. Employees were constantly approaching us to attend breakfast presentations for the Circle membership, which became annoying and disruptive — if guests are interested, they should be able to ask on their own.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Several restrooms around the resort were dirty, and some restaurant bathrooms had an overwhelming amount of artificial fragrance, which was unpleasant.

The only real positive was that the resort is pet-friendly, and that part of the experience was great for our dog. Unfortunately, for us, the stay quickly became boring and frustrating. We would not recommend this resort to anyone looking for a lively atmosphere.

Paradisus la perla is a very nice hotel on the beach with mangroves . The hotel staff are outstanding. The choices of restaurants are also good. The beach has rocks in some areas making it not an ideal beach but overall was clean with minimal seaweed. There are many activities but night entertainment could be improved. The reserve concierge option makes reserving easier but not sure if it's worth the upgraded cost. The food was good for an all inclusive but the wine etc were not that good. The hotel is starting to show its age so renovations would help. I would definitely start bye we

Excluding the amazing price for this level of all-inclusive resort, this place is a no-brainer for those who know that this part of MX (Cancun-Playadel Carmen- Tolum) has the safest tourist areas in all of Mexico. This all-inclusive resort is high-end all the way, and “The Reserve” adults-only section and the family side is as well. The location of this resort makes it the perfect place for any gringo who can also speak Spanish because instead of having to pay the mini Taxi mafia that charges the high fixed price for every ride, you can use the InDriver app and avoid dealing with the Taxi mafia that runs the tourist area in the central part of town. Taking an Uber driver to the airport will only cost you $35 instead of $100 through the taxis. So I definitely recommend this place. It’s the best location for an all-inclusive hotel, beautiful beaches lots of stuff to do and just in perfect condition.

The waiters, waitresses, and customer service was amazing. Room was clean but a lot of things that were not in the roon were not in the best shape. The food was really good at most of the restaurants we tried. The downside is that there isnt much to do at night. The bars don't have a lot of sitting areas. The club is a sports bar that turns unto a club. Also does not have a lot of seating as well. We had some issues with our rooms and consierge were not able to help but customer service sorted us out on day 3 right away. They dont have many double bed rooms even though expedia sells it like it does. Expedia needs to fix their hotel information. Be aware that the steak restaurant is not included like the other resorts. You have to pay extra. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing time, this will work for you. If you need more things to do at night, this is not the place.

Went there three years ago, and returned just last week. Service and quality still remain impecable. Food is incredible, both at the buffets and the restaurants (had the chance to make reservations for two a-la-carte restaurants). Service is the one thing that makes this hotel well worth it. All the staff goes above and beyond trying to help you. Will surely be back for a third time.

Wow! Where do I start? The room was amazing, the pools are awesome! Very well maintained grounds. Great dining and excellent room service. But, the true standouts are the staff. Very happy I chose to stay at Paradisus La Perla. The property is clean and beautiful. The staff is friendly and professional.

When I was unable to make my check in time due to a flight delay, the property went above and beyond to ensure my stay was top notch. This resort is great for couples wanting to relax. If you stay on a weekend there are many fun things like a pool foam party and karaoke night.

Amenities: DEFINITELY use their spa. I booked a couples massage which included hydrotherapy at check-in. It was hands down my favorite day. Also loved being able to choose between the main Fahrenheit pool and Quiet pool.

Dining: We stayed for 4 nights. Our dining routine was going to the Nespresso cafe for small breakfast, the buffet for lunch, and a dinner reservation in the evening. If I could rank the restaurants we tried; SAL is #1 and must, then Tokimeku (loved their sushi) then LemonFish. LemonFish wasn't my favorite. On one night we did order room service which did take a while but we did not mind.

Pro tip: Definitely bring cash for tips. The staff deserve it. Also there was much sargassum on the beach so we stuck to the pool most days, but we did manage to have one fun day of kayaking and beach volleyball. The water just wasn't very clear.

Overall I'd highly recommend staying here.

He provide surprises to my room throughout my stay which made me feel special. The extra it cost for the upgrade was well worth it. Restaurants and service, excellent. Sal’s steakhouse was such a treat, food was spectacular. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. I can’t say enough good things. I want to come back with my granddaughter when she’s a bit older for the family side.

Our stay was incredible. Our concierge Fabián made sure our stay was perfect. He was communicative, thoughtful, informative, and went above & beyond for us over & over again. The property was beautiful, food was yummy, drinks were strong, everyone was so polite and kind. As a queer couple, we are always nervous about how we’ll be treated while traveling, but happy to report we were treated like every other couple, which is refreshing!

The only negative is that we went during seaweed season so the smell was really bad on the property & we couldn’t go in the ocean, but our swim up room and the multiple pools made it worth it!

The food was good entertainment at night very very poor absolutely nothing to do price for a coconut ridiculously high. Would not go again until they offer more entertainment at night better beach.. I was very disappointed.

Not as it once was. The bell hop and restaurant staff, even by the pool are amazing, hardworking, and helped the customer experience.
The Reserve concierge staff, are not a good fit for their roles. Luis is the one to welcomed us, thay really soured oir experience. He lacked enthusiasm and was rude. When you asked him for help, he was condescending and treated you like a bother. Cynthia, who was supposed to be our private concierge, lacked anticipation or the desire to even help you. She didn't give us a tour of the resort and had crappy attitude overall. We questioned what was the point of upgrading to The Reserve experience if the concierge staff have poor service, empathy, or desire to help give a warm and pleasant experience. Cynthia talked to us like we were being commmanded and she had zero hospitality. Her WhatsApp messages were very automated and she had no grace or consideration in person. She knew it was a family vacation and she ignored all the useful insights to help make our stay memorable. This is our 3rd Paradisus line booking and due to Cynthia and Luis, we will never book with Paradisus or Melia again. Why would you advertise a Luxury and memorable experience when you can't even have a concierge team that actually wants to help. They should promote the staff from the pool like Alfredo or servers at the Hadar loke Ernesto, Nelvia, and Jorge, as they know how to provide a great customer experience and makes you feel welcome.

The property was beautiful and very relaxing. There is a family resort attached. It was nice because we stayed in the adults only and our younger family members stayed on family side and we could enjoy adult side as well as family dining and pools during the day with our younger family members. It was a long way out of town so nothing very close. A very hot long walk to 5th avenue snd port. Spent quite a bit of extra money on taxi rides to go anywhere. Resort is very amazing so you don’t need to go anywhere. But we like to get exposed to culture outside of fancy resort so we enjoy getting off property a little. Plenty of pools and dining. Gorgeous and tranquil atmosphere. Very spread out so be prepared to get your steps in which I loved but if you have limited mobility you need to upgrade to family concierge or reserve. I would definitely return. Due to time of year (May) beach and ocean was unusable due to sea weed. Overall a real jewel of a resort!

We stayed for 5 nights and it was a good time. Property was very clean with good food.
The staff were kind and helpful.
Buffet at Hadar was great, Ismael, Shaira & Victor were great here along with others we sadly did not catch their names.
Lows, lots of seaweed. The heat seemed to exasperate the issue.

Typical all inclusive. Older property that needs updating. Buffet was as expected but sadly the specialty restaurants were not good the steak house being the biggest disappointment. The swim out Reserve “quiet pool” was dirty & not maintained. The larger pools were so slippery and with that many people they need chemicals. Clear markings where they have not been scrubbed. Employees are so kind and friendly, housekeeping was amazing! NO FANS in any open air spaces or closed to circulate air so be prepared to be very hot, it was 92 daily. But plenty of chairs, clean towels and cabanas. Entertainment was cultural and so amazing (highlight). Low water pressure and we lost power several times. Honestly would not recommend & it’s significantly more money than other all inclusive for what reason we couldn’t figure out. Beach wasn’t available but that was nature not the resort.

The property was beautiful. The food and drinks were 3 out of 5. The service was very good. Oscar at the Fahrenheit bar is the absolute best. The downside was on our last night they had rolling blackouts and it disrubted our last night and we couldn't enjoy ourselves because our hot tub didn't work, it was pitch black and it was scary to hangout in our swimout pool and the television never worked again.

Staff was courteous and super attentive. Grounds are immaculate, well kept and maintained. Food was Delicious. Plenty of activities to keep busy as well as time for quiet and relaxation. Would return in a heartbeat. Loved this resort.

We had a wonderful stay. Upgrading to the Reserve was well worth it. Access to an additional restaurant, pool, and steak-house menu items were all valuable adds. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pools were close by and roomy. Swim up bars were well stocked and staffed by great bartenders. Can't really offer any critical comments.
