Relaxing at the Inn

We enjoyed our one night at the Inn. We relaxed on the front porch in the morning, enjoying the flowers and landscaping. Behind the Inn is a large garden/park area that we did not have time to explore but it looked very nice as we walked though it from the Inn to the parking area. The breakfast area was bright and comfortable. The breakfast options were just right for us. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well-decorated. We would have preferred a walk-in shower instead of the tub/shower combination due to the height of the tub. The neighborhood was pleasant, just a short distance to the center of Brandon.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lilac Inn very much. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our king bed was extremely comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious with great muffins.
We especially liked the house Bassett Hound named Ladybird!! Would recommend.

So quaint and delightful!

My mom and I stayed here as part of our road trip through New England and it was absolutely delightful! The room was so cute, and the breakfast was nice. The grounds are pretty and there is a nice area to relax on the porch. They had a library too. Everything was just so nice. I wish we stayed longer than 1 night. Highly recommend!

Maybe I just don't know how Bed and Breakfasts truly work, since this was my first stay at one. But when we arrived, no one was there, our room key was left on the check-in desk with a note that told us breakfast time and wi-fi code. There was a number to call if we needed something and it said they were just running errands, but we never saw anyone until breakfast the next morning. It turned out every restaurant in town was closed on Mondays, we had to go miles back to the last town, it really would have been nice to have a staff person to ask for recommendations. I thought part of the charm of a B&B is supoosed to be personalized service, but I got more welcome from my $100 a night motel the night before!

Absolutely love the property inside and out! Our room is large, beautiful, and the bed is so comfortable.Exceeded my expectations; wish we were staying more than one night!
We have two \"complaints\" - the fragrant smell in our room was overpowering & nauseating, and then whatever was being cooked downstairs smelled all the way up to our room on the second floor, and not in a good way unfortunately.

I really liked that my room and property were very clean. Breakfast was great and coffee machine in hall was very convenient. The big downside was the shower. Both days I would immediately loose hot water and freeze, then suddenly get it back and burn myself. Not enjoyable at all. And for $300 a night I do expect to have an enjoyable shower.

The Lilac is was beautiful, charming and quiet! I stayed in Room 9 because I wanted a shower. It was very private with its own hall once you entered the room. The mattress, sheeting and pillows were extremely comfortable and inviting. The breakfast was delicious as well. I will certainly come back!

Enjoyed our stay until we got home and both of us found bug bites... Still uncertain what these bug bites are. The property is relatively clean but there is mold on the bathroom ceiling and a deep clean is certainly needed as there were minor stains on the carpet and scuffs on the wall. Breakfast was made-to-order and delicious!

It’s a nice place to stay, with that said, our Television did not work. I messaged right away about the issue. It was getting pretty late by the time someone could look at it so I asked for it to be fixed in the morning. It was still not working when we got back from lunch the next day. I asked the lady at the front desk for help fixing it and she said she would mention it to housecleaning? It happened to be freezing outside( below zero) …so outside activities were out of the question. Our goal was to relax all weekend which included our favorite shows. Unfortunately with the issue not being resolved we left a day early.

The grounds are beautiful with gorgeous flowers and nice walkways. The stroll to downtown was enhanced by a farmers market going on every Friday. The TVs are difficult to figure out with multiple remotes, and no info. in the rooms as to how to use them?!? Overall a great place to stay with a wonderful breakfast and helpful staff. I guess I am used to smaller B&B when the owner is present at breakfast and greets their guests and is interested in how they plan to spend their day. This was run more like a hotel. You order your breakfast and there was no friendly chatting with other guests. I missed the coziness of getting to know the other guests which is usually started by a friendly owner who is interested in setting a warm atmosphere. That is one major reason I stay at B&B to meet fellow travelers....this was lacking. I think this B&B is more suited for weddings. I thought in the small town in Vermont I would have felt more like a guest than a stranger.

We had a one-night stay at the inn and found it very comfortable, ideally located on a lovely street with walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. The bed was very comfortable and the accommodations were clean. There were many places to sit either on a porch, in the garden or one of the many common rooms. And, they served the loveliest most delicious breakfast. Good cup of coffee, a fruit platter, cinnamon muffin and then a choice of main. The fruit was an assortment of several types and each was ripe and sweet. A great way to start our long day of sightseeing.

This was our first time at a B&B, so we were very excited!
When we came for breakfast, my wife and I were ignored by the servers. We tried to get their attention but to no avail. We left after 30 minutes and FINALLY spoke to a server who blamed the other server. There were 4 tables and 2 servers….The owner was gracious and apologetic, offering us a discount on more than one occasion. We never got one!
The inn was dusty, but very nice. The town of Brandon was amazing! Looking forward to return, but not at The Lilac Inn.

Property could have been maintained a bit more. Perhaps COVID has hit hard on them. Please welcome guests through the main door not through the side door. Also take guests to their room through the main staircase not through the side staircase. Property is very close to the neighbors. Not much privacy. I was expecting that a wedding venue will have a great lawn but instead it felt like I was in someone's backyard.

This is a beautiful, well appointed Inn with excellent service and accommodating proprietors. Bed was very comfortable! Only complaint is that the TP roll was in an awkward position re: the toilet, and made access challenging. Toilet is also very low. It was a room for younger bodies than we possessed. Very well appointed though.

This is a really lovely inn with a friendly staff that works hard to make guests happy. Rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. There's a comfy lounge area and a good, full-service breakfast. When we needed to start our day before breakfast, they offered to have to-go breakfast sandwiches ready for our early start. They did and they were delicious. The inn is just steps from downtown Brandon, which is really cute. We couldn't have asked for more.

I liked the 19th century decor and it was quiet and clean. Beds were comfortable but narrow short. I'm 5'11 and anyone taller would have their feet hanging over. Maybe because it's a 19th century type of room. Not all the light switches worked but all lights worked. Wasn't able to watch Monday Night Football because it wasn't your standard cable TV but that could be a Vermont thing!
Overall satisfied but a little pricey but then again, I stayed during the New Year week.
