Couple trip for 5 nights

We would rate this hotel almost excellent, our room was very comfortable and serviced twice a day.
The grounds and pool are beautiful, effort towards sustainability is evident.
Service was sometimes slow and our drinks orders were incorrect a couple of times but no big deal.
We booked a couple of ‘experiences’ the wine tasting was cancelled an hour before start time. The romantic meal was a bit disappointing in our opinion, the space and views were gorgeous but the location meant the food arrived cold, and long gaps between courses.
The aperitif in the field was excellent, the views are stunning, could have done with something other than bread and nuts to eat, maybe add cheese and meats?!
Overall we loved the resort, staff were friendly and ideal for a couple wanting to spend a few days in a secluded location.

We stayed 7 nights here for our honeymoon and had a mixed experience. The service from Martha, Ita, Francesca, Giuseppe, Michaela and every staff member was excellent—always helpful, kind, and professional. The property itself is beautiful, offering a peaceful, rustic atmosphere with stunning landscapes.

However, while it’s common for upscale places to offer honeymoon perks, none were provided here. Although the hotel is adults-only, the owner’s children were at the pool one day during our stay. The owner’s dog, Bruno, is very well cared for, but sadly, Bruno’s two puppies were kept in poor, cruel conditions under the sun.

As for the food, it was good but noy amazing. Lunch is €30 and lacks any protein, with the mostly the same menu offered daily. Dinner had a good menu, but the portions were extremely small. Wine pours, both at the bar and during meals, were very small, especially for the price. The pool also needed better maintenance.

Overall, a beautiful place with room for improvement.

Beautiful setting, great restoration, friendly and helpful staff. Good food as well.
Food more expensive than the room prices make you expect, but in total still great value.
Drive in bumpy but doable in a normal car, just don't rush.

Stunning views in very comfortable country inn.
We travelled with friends in Sicily and Southern Italy by car. Our most important tip is: DO NOT USE GPS. We prebooked all of our accommodations and every one sent us directions on how to get there. To our peril, we ignored their directions and relied on a Garmin GPS plus the GPS in our rental car. It turns out that most of Italy is not on GPS. It is very important that you follow the directions provided by your host to avoid getting lost as we did!
We were hopelessly lost and travelled the back roads usually used by tractors in pouring rain. We finally arrived and what a delight!
Despite all of the rain we experienced while at Masseria Susafa, we loved everything about this place! Friendly staff, cleans rooms, gorgeous views and beautiful grounds. The breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. We ate dinner there twice, it was good but not as good as at other hotels in the same category. If dinner time meals were improved a bit this place would be outstanding.

The owners did a great job restoring Masseria Susafa. It felt special staying in an old farming commune made even better by a delicious breakfast and dinner. Driving on the narrow farm road to get there was all part of of a worthwhile experience

Central Sicilian Oasis - Stay Long

Excellent Property - Hotels have a huge impact on my trip and this one well exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and tranquil property, amazing food, and simple + comfortable room. Also probably the best bed, sheets and pillows we had in Sicily.

Close (1 hour or so) to much of central/middle Sicily towns and sites.

This NY couple 100% recommends. Owner was present, available and friendly. Staff was lovely.

Wished we stayed longer.

We’ll be back.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The food was incredible and I wish we had been able to do one of the cookery courses on offer. The pool looks out over incredible hills and mountains as does the rest of the property. We will definitely be going back for another visit.

Fantastic & Tranquil Sicily Escape

My partner and I regrettably only had one night booked at this superb B&B but wish we had a few one and look forward to going back in the future. The remote location was exactly what we were looking for at this point of our holiday and both the drive there and the scenery surrounding the property was breathtaking. The facilities are well maintained and have not lost their historical charm or feel. The room was comfortable, clean, and provided for a great sleep. The pool was fantastic and allowed for a peaceful afternoon among nature. Our dinner in the restaurant was just perfect from the service to the lovely food and the setting. The entire experience was fantastic! Our breakfast the next morning was just as lovely as the dinner and was full of fresh fruit and food from the farm itself. The options were endless and the service again was very attentive. I highly recommend a few night's stay at this lovely place for a stay you won't regret!

Masseria Susafa is a reason to return to Sicily!

The stay at Masseria Susafa was clearly the highlight of the trip to Sicily. It's the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy excellent local food, spend time at the pool or in the garden or on the rooftop... The rooms have a local touch and are carefully decorated. A day at Masseria Susafa starts with probably the most delicious breakfast one can imagine - the bread still warm...local products...all arranged with love and passion. Dinner in the restaurant is also delicious. There is also a bar, a pool and plenty of space for every guest.

Simply stunning

Middle of nowhere but so worth the trek. This place surpassed all our expectations. The building has been tastefully and luxuriously renovated, it really is special and set in the most beautiful rural landscape. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast also excellent. We were only sorry wevhad just booked for the one night.

Wonderful peaceful place

We stayed here just 1 night to check it out as a venue to use next year for our yoga holidays. We've been running them for a few years in Sicily but fancied a change of location and our local guide told us about Masseria Susafa. We had a wonderful stay from the time we arrived for lunch until we left after breakfast the next day. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The rooftop terrace with views of the mountains and stunning countryside perfect for our yoga classes and to chill out on with an aperitif! The restaurant in a coverted barn was lovely and the food delicious. The bar again in a barn was very chilled and subdued, a great place to hang out in before dinner. Service was excellent and attentive with Victoria, the receptionist, the perfect host! We've booked to return in the first week of June next year and we can't wait!

Fantastic Place to Relax

An oasis of relaxed good living in a beautiful but fairly remote rural setting. The main challenge is finding it! First ignore the Polizza Generosa address: leave the A19 autostrada at the 'Tre Monzelli' junction and take the direction to Caltavuturo. It's then a turning on the left and is signposted 'C de Susafa', after that it's signposted 'Masseria Susafa' but you have about three miles of small rural road (with both bumpy and short stony sections). But the journey is worth it: the estate buildings have been beautifully converted to provide a great visitor experience. The bedrooms are quite plain and simple, comfortable rather than luxurious but with good bathrooms. There are some lovely garden areas and a super swimming pool with stunning views (down a stony path to reach it). There is a very good restaurant sited in a magnificent old granary with soaring stone arches: the food is not complex but there is a good choice and it is cooked to a high standard. Over four nights we did not struggle to find a range of lovely food to try; the wines are delicious and I thought that both food and wine were reasonably priced for the standard offered. There is also a very pleasant separate bar building, which also uses the outside space in warm weather. The staff were excellent, being friendly but very professional and attentive. It makes a good base for exploring the hill towns of northern Sicily and the Madonie mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wir waren zum 2.Mal dort.Traumhafte Lage, Liegen und Stühle auf den Wiesen,Dachterrasse,toller Pool.Alles sehr gepflegt.Sehr freundliches Personal.Und wir haben wieder hervorragend im Restaurant gegessen.Man muss nur wissen,dass die Masseria sehr abgelegen liegt.Die Zufahrtsstraße ist nicht gut.

Abgeschiedener Traumurlaub

Ein ganz tolles Hotel, bei dem auf jedes Detail geachtet wird. Man muss sich einfach Wohlfühlen :-)
- Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung ist sehr geschmackvoll.
- Das Essen ist unheimlich lecker, mit dem besten Frühstücksbuffet überhaupt. Alles wird selbstgemacht bzw. im eigenen Garten angebaut.
- Die Angestellten sind super freundlich.
- Die ganze Anlage besteht nur aus höchstens 15 Zimmern und es gibt überall viel Platz und gemütliche Ecken.

Einziger Minuspunkt: Das Hotel ist extrem abgeschieden. Das heißt konkret, bis zur nächsten Ortscahft mit Restaurant / Tankstelle / Supermarkt sind es 40-50 min Autofahrt über schmale, kurvige, kaputte Straßen.

Fantastiske omgivelser + god mad + ren afslapning

Min kæreste og jeg skulle blot sove en enkelt overnatning her. Det var et fantastisk smukt sted med god mad, engageret og sødt personale. Vi ankom ved 16 tiden, og havde ikke fået noget frokost, og var meget sultne. Stedet er placeret langt væk fra supermarkeder/shoppingmuligheder, så vi håbede at de måske havde åben i restauranten, men den var lukket. Alligevel var de så serviceminded at de bød os velkommen og lavede frokost til os, som smagte så dejligt.

Morgenmadsbordet er fuldstændig fantastisk. Du vil ikke blive skuffet!
Det her sted er optimalt for afslapning, læse bøger og gåture. Man kan vist også komme på madlavningskurser, det nåede vi dog ikke.

Fantastisk ferie i fredfyldte omgivelser

En del af vores bagage forsvandt under fly-rejsen og de var virkelig søde til at følge op for os og sikrede at den nåede frem i god behold

Samtidig har vores ene datter gluten-allergi og her gjorde de også en forskel

Eneste reelle forbedringspunkt er det overordnede menukort der blev lidt ensformigt efter en 3 dage.....

Stillig, avsides liggende hotell

Masseria Susafa ligger litt avsides; det er et fint sted for avkobling , natur og utflukter i Medonie nasjonalparken. Hotellet med baren i restauranten er plassert i gamle, flott restaurerte gårdsbygningene. Stedet har stil, men atkomst kan bli litt vanskelig i perioder med mye regn pga et par km vei uten asfalt. Utmerket service og mat: frokost og middag. Fint bad, gjennomsnittlig rom uten TV.

Fantastisk skønt sted. Meget roligt og afslappet, god mad. Dobbelt så autentisk som Villa Dafne, dobbelt så god mad, dobbelt så meget charme, men kun 1/3 dyrere. Kan anbefales generelt og til en hver tid i forhold til Villa Dafne, som ligger i nærheden og på papiret kan det samme.

Perfekt für zwei zurückgezogene Tage inmitten von Natur. Sehr ruhig, man hört nur das intensive Vogelgezwitscher.

We started the season at the Masseria Susafa. It's really beautiful there. We relaxed for three days. The room is very cosy. It was still a bit chilly inside (beginning of April, not the hottest season in Sicily) but heating worked. The pool was still out of order (again, first day of their season) but once running you can hang out there all day. Or go on hiking tours through the hills. Around are farms and fields. Very green in April.
The restaurant of the Masseria Susafa is absolutely delicious. The service very nice. Good people running it.
Worth a visit. This was my second time...

Efter en resa sista kilometrarna på en dålig väg kom vi fram till ett fantastiskt ställe. Utsikt över det sicilianska landskapet. Själva hotellet var mycket smakfullt inrett allt från restaurangen, rummen, uteplatser och poolområdet. Här kan man koppla av och få en god service. Vi fick en bra lunch när vi kom och en utsökt komponerad middag på kvällen. Frukostbuffén var den bästa vi hade vid vår vistelse på Sicilien. Hade tiden funnits hade vi stannat fler nätter.

Mooie boerderij op unieke plek

Mooi onderkomen. Goed eten. Leuke bar om voor en na Het eten te borrelen. Bijna iedereen eet op de boerderij. Mooi zwembad, waar iedereen erg stil was (boekenclub) dus voor kinderen iets minder. Locatie is ongeveer 50 min van cefalu en ruim 1 uur van palermo. In de omgeving is weinig te beleven. Maar een prachtige plek als tussenstop op een eilandrondreis.

L'endroit est absolument magique, très dépaysant de la côte et autres villes touristiques de Sicile. Etablissement en pleine campagne, la vue est extraordinaire, le service adorable, disponible et discret. Et fantastisk sted.
Susafa ligger ret øde og der er langt til de nærmeste småbyer, men sikke et sted. Medbring et par gode bøger og nyd stilheden som nærmest kun forstyrres af klokkerne fra områdets geder og køer. Der er virkelig mulighed for ren afslapning. En skøn tagterasse hvor man kan nyde en kølig drink og skue ud over det smukke landskab. Stedets restaurant laver fantastisk mad og den spændende bar er leveringsdytige i liflige Mojitos. Pool området var også super. Jeg medgiver Susafa de bedste anbefalinger.

Unikt ställe

Masseria Susafa är ett unikt ställe som ligger mitt bland bergen på landsbygden. Servicen är fantastisk, maten jättegod och byggnaderna och omgivningarna otroligt vackra. Vill man koppla av och ha en lugn semester är detta det ultimata hotellvalet. Vi var två vuxna och två barn och även om det inte finns så mycket att göra så njöt vi hela tiden, ett ställe att komma tillbaka till. Masseria Susafa ligger otillgängligt och är lite svårt att hitta så ta med vägbeskrivning i bilen, GPSen hittade inte.

A memorable stay!

Adressen är missvisande: maserian ligger 35 km utanför staden Polizzi G. Vägarna dit är hemska sista biten. Där slutar gnället. Personalen är fantastisk. Ingenting är för mycket besvär. En dag när vädret omöjliggjorde utegång, installerade de oss i baren och höll oss med en underbart värmande vedbrasa. Maten är himmelsk och kopiös, vinerna av hög kvalité. Sluträkningen var skonsam - väldigt bra valuta för pengarna. Alla gånger ett ställe att återvänder till.
