We arrived via the not fit to drive at night broken road and upon arriving decided NOT to stay even though we had paid. The hotel pics must be very old as it looks like something from a horror film. Flaky paint, badly kept gardens and flies in our room. We handed back the key and left. The road to the property is horrendous. Don't even think about going anywhere for dinner and back....it's not safe....awful

Looks like Tuscany

The place is very very difficult to find especially in a dark rainy night. They said a lot of people have trouble finding it. I was looking forward to a jaquzzi but everything was closed. We payed extra for dinner & the pasta was bad.
The building and area is beautifull should have gone there in the summer.

Hard place to find

Took ages to get there as sat nav gave wrong direction ended up being shown the way by helpful local,.location was okay but the road leading down to the hotel is in poor condition.we found the room to be very dark and airless no window and could not get ac to work .shower is small .we did enjoy the meal we had in the restaurant

The Hotel is unique .

The building are old but comfortable ,the hote is situated in a green and isulated area .the site is very nice and the view is beautiful. the breakfast and the super very good.

Second week of holiday

Having traveled in Sicily extensively the first week we needed a quite hotel for the second.
What a gem Monaco di Mezzo was, Ok you have to take care when driving on the road to Monaco di Mezzo (as you do in all of Sicily) and the driveway to the hotel can be exciting but it is well worth it.
Location, pool, activities, food, staff are all excellent. We didnt want to leave.

The nicest place we stayed! food was unbelieveable - cost was phenonemal - was tricky to locate so definately get your bearing before you try to find the place - well worth the tricky trip over the hills and down the dirt roads!!! will stay there again next year - did i mention how awesome the food was...

Just Fabulous

Even though this is very difficult to get to - a really frightening road with high drop offs - it is still a 5. This is the place to go to in the middle of your trip and just rest for a couple of days before continuing on your journey. It is truly an agriturismo hotel with all foor coming right from the farm. I highly recommend this - it was the best meal of our three week vacation and also one of the best rooms.

A Most Happy Surprise

Monaco di Mezzo falls under the category \"agriturismo.\" It is worth a side trip: our most memorable meal in two weeks of Sicilian travel was served here. All info on their website is accurate. The food served could not be purer, fresher, nor more impeccably prepared. Bring your appetite, because at dinner the table d'hote menu just keeps rolling out. You needn't ask for another litre of wine, it will be replaced before you even finish the first. We were entirely blissed out; I would have liked to stay longer. It is a lovely and congenial place for both families and couples, and would be relaxing for singles as well. Very low key, but a haute kind of rural experience.

How on earth did this hotel get four stars?

Whilst we expected simplicity from an agriturismo resort we didn't expect spartan! As this was listed as a hotel (not self catering) and had 4 stars we anticipated a reasonable level of comfort and service. The room had no windows! the only way to get natural daylight was to leave the door open - not ideal if you happen to like privacy, other than that lighting was by rather low wattage bulbs. There were no toilettries in the bathroom other than a bottle of liquid soap on the basin, we had to go out and buy shampoo, shower gel etc. The shower was not a seperate cubical but at one end of the room which you had to drag an ill fitting screen across when taking a shower. This in no way prevented all the water leaking out and the whole bathroom would become flooded whenever one of us took a shower involving much mopping up with towels afterwards. Perhaps most surprising of all the rooms were not made up once during our stay! We couldn't believe it when we returned from a day out on the first day to find the bed unmade, bins not emptied, bathroom uncleaned (and full of wet towels!) There was no chambermaid service at all during our stay. This should at best be a 2 star resort and priced accordingly

Sijainti - toisaalta melkein liiankin jännittävän kapean ja huonokuntoisen serpentiinitien päässä (viimeiset 5 km), joka vähän esti muualle piipahtamiseen, toisaalta antoi syyn levätä kauniissa ympäristössä.

Ruokaa oli tarjolla runsaasti. Erityisellä
lämmöllä muistelemme Pina-rouvan runsaita ja herkullisia illallisia - koko menu toinen toistaan herkullisimpia ruokia!

La struttura sarebbe bella se ben tenuta. La location sembra vicina all'autostrada, in realtà dista 6/8 km da percorrere in strade con buche dossi e cunette, oltre che curve. Le foto non sono realistiche. Niente cavalli e , se vogliamo utilizzare la spa, dobbiamo comunicarlo con almeno un giorno di anticipo. La nota dolente è la strada, molto brutta. Google map ti indirizza verso un tratturo ad un certo punto, con il rischio di rimanere bloccato (poi ci vuole il trattore per uscirne). Il proprietario dovrebbe mettere dei cartelli indicativi più grandi e che ben mostrassero la strada da percorrere, oltre che segnalare il fatto che Google indirizza verso un tratturo. La notte siamo abbandonati a noi stessi. Nessun servizio di reception per un bisogno. Solo un cellulare (dei vicini). Poche luci all'esterno. Uniche note positive che sottolineo: il cuoco Rosario e l'addetto alle colazioni Giuseppe. Brave persone, disponibili e amanti del proprio lavoro.

Splendida piscina

La struttura si trova molto isolata, immersa nella quiete delle campagne circostanti, lontano dai rumori di strade trafficate, lontano dalle luci dei paesi vicini (ho rivisto quanto fosse bello il cielo stellato); nota negativa, per raggiungerlo occorre percorrere in auto per 15/20 minuti una strada stretta, parecchio dissestata e a tratti anche sterrata.
La nostra camera, ampia e comoda richiederebbe una rinfrescata alle pareti e un po' di manutenzione del bagno.
La parte migliore, a mio parere, è la piscina, grande, mantenuta bene e molto pulita, dalla quale si gode una meravigliosa vista delle campagne circostanti.
Abbiamo cenato lì, avendo tante aspettative, ma alla fine siamo rimasti delusi. Tutto molto gustoso, la pecca era la quantità e la varietà, pochi antipasti, in solo primo portato in un piatto che doveva essere per due persone, ma che era una singola porzione, lo stesso per il secondo con 2 assaggi di carne: visto il prezzo mi sarei aspettato un po' di più. Di solito quando mangio negli agriturismi ne esco sempre più che sazio, questa volta non è stato così.
Il mio consiglio è di rinforzare le pietanze e magari aggiungere qualcosa di più caratteristico (suino nero, selvaggina...).

Una bella esperienza

Abbiamo prenotato consapevoli che pagando abbastanza poco non potevamo pretendere chissà cosa.... e invece siamo stati sorpresi dalla struttura curata, organizzata, accogliente e con diversi servizi. Il personale abbastanza accogliente Rita ti mette subito a disposizione e il proprietario simpatico e disponibile...il nostro soggiorno è stato durante il capodanno e abbiamo mangiato davvero bene, cucina semplice ma buona... abbiamo apprezzato tanto il fatto che noi abbiamo portato il nostro cane e devo dire che rispetto ad altri alberghi o strutture che ti fanno capire che il cane non è molto gradito o addirittura non è accettato, loro l’hanno trattato come un ospite vero e proprio. Grazie sperando che questo 2018 porti altre sorprese positive come la vostra.

Ottimo hotel, non semplice da raggiungere

Ottima location, personale cortese, cibo genuino, abbondante ed ottimo.
Unica nota stonata: la strada per raggiungerlo, poca segnaletica, strada sterrata con buche. Le indicazioni sulla scheda sono errate: non bisogna impostare sul navigatore Petralia Sottana, vi porterebbe fuori strada, ma prendere l'uscita Resuttana sull'A19 PA-CT e seguire le indicazioni per il paese di CiolIno.

Dans le calme de la montagne

Cet hôtel est en pleine nature dans la montagne.
Les 7 km qui rejoignent l'autoroute se font sur des petites routes bien défoncées (il faut 1/4h).
La piscine est très bien. Le cadre est très beau.
Les dîners (25€ vin compris) sont très copieux et bons.
Les petits-déjeuners pourraient être améliorés.
Ce qui nous a le plus gêné était le bruit des groupes froids extérieurs pour la climatisation. Renseignez-vous avant pour votre chambre.
Globalement, cet hôtel n'est vraiment pas cher.

Bellissima piscina

La struttura è molto bella, immersa tra le montagne del parco delle Madonie, in un silenzio circostante quasi surreale. L'accoglienza e il servizio è stato impeccabile, un ringraziamento particolare alla signora che con noi è stata sempre gentile e disponibile a soddisfare le nostre richieste. La piscina è meravigliosa circondata dal paesaggio siciliano,molto pulita. Le camere sono accoglienti. Il pranzo è stato discretamente buono. Unica pecca la colazione: biscotti, pane , marmellate, succo. Mi sarei aspettato delle torte, cornetti, brioche, tutte cose che solitamente trovo nelle colazioni delle altre strutture da me visitate. Altra cosa occorrerebbe manutenzione di più il verde all'ingresso delle stanze. Nel complesso ottima struttura. Da ritornarci.

nette Atmosphäre auf dem Land

Freundliche Menschen arbeiten in diesem Agritourismo. Leider hat die Anlage ihre besten Tage hinter sich. Es gäbe viel zu investieren. Das Essen ist rustikal und sehr schmackhaft.Der Pool lädt zum Verweilen ein. Nachts war es schön ruhig. Die Anfahrt, obwohl nur 6,5 km von der Autobahn entfernt, ist sehr beschwerlich und überfordert ein normales Fahrzeug beinahe.

Nel complesso soddisfacente. Ottima la spa, nuova, funzionale e attrezzatissima. Peccato che esiste solo il menu' prezzo fisso. Bisognerebbe dare una minima scelta alla clientela. Ok come agriturismo, resta cmq non gradito il passeggio in sala ristorante dei vari cani che si scrollano e girano per i tavoli. Un po' isolata come struttura ma ...accettabile.

Para empezar NO está en Petralia, sino a 45 minutos en coche, aislado por completo, información que omiten en la web. La habitación pequeña y fría para ser un hotel rural. El desayuno no es bufet, te lo sirven en la mesa y el pan estaba durísimo. No cumplió las expectativas que teníamos.

Che dire, cercavamo un posto ove isolarci dal caos cittadino; ebbene, non poteva esserci posto migliore. Attorno all'agriturismo non c'è assolutamente nulla se non la natura ed i suoi suoni e silenzi.
L'agriturismo è molto bello; abbiamo trovato comodità, cordialità ed ottime pietanze. Complimenti ai proprietari e soprattutto allo chef Mimmo, grande professionista e comunicatore. Insomma, esperienza del tutto positiva. Complimenti.

Agritourisme de charme au milieu de la Sicile !

Nous avons passé 15 jours au mois d'aout 2015 en famille avec 2 enfants de 2 et 8 ans. Le site est très beau avec un jolie spa et une très belle piscine. C'est un endroit très calme et loin des grands sites touristiques.
Le rapport qualité prix est bon. Nous avons utilisé pas mal notre voiture de location.
Les premiers sites à visiter sont à 45 minutes en voiture. Catane, Agrigente, Palerme Taormine, l'Etna, Syracuse sont à plus de 2 heures. Les routes secondaires sont parfois abimées mais l'autoroute est proche et de bonne qualité lorsqu'elle n'est pas fermé (vers Palerme)
L' appartement est grand et bien équipé avec tous le nécessaire pour manger et cuisiner (frigo, plaques électrique, couverts...). On a apprécié la climatisation et le WIFI.
Le restaurant est de grande qualité. Il est fréquenté principalement par des italiens. La formule unique proposée (25 euros/adultes et 12.50 euros / enfant) est très copieuse, typique et bonne. On peut regretter l'absence d'une formule plus légère (15 euros environ : antipasti/viande ou salade/viande) pour les résidents de longue durée de l'agritourisme.
Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable!

Au milieu des champs

Gîte rural isolé (mais accessible relativement facilement par l'autoroute reliant Palerme et Catane) dans un paysage superbe. Nous y avons passé deux jours très reposants. Il n'y a pas grand chose à faire mais cela peut-être le but! Jolie piscine, terrasse avec vue sur les collines. Petit déjeuner OK mais un peu limité (que des tartines, pas de fruit ou d'omelette), et dîner pas flexible du tout. C'est la formule gastronomique à 25€ ou rien. Le premier soir ce fut donc rien car après un déjeuner très tardif il n'y aurait eu au mieux de la place que pour une petite salade, que l'on nous a refusée. Le deuxième soir nous nous étions donc réservé de l'appétit pour le dîner, qui n'a pas décu. Cuisine maison très chaleureuse (et huileuse!).
A recommander pour un court séjour champêtre en début ou en fin de vacances, mais pas comme base pour visiter la Sicile car trop loin de tout pour les excursions à la journée.

une escale reposante dans un cadre typique sicilien en pleine montagne au milieu des oliviers. Cuisine excellente pour un prix raisonnable, le meilleur repas de notre séjour en Sicile. Emplacement difficile à trouver car pas connu des GPS ( accés par chemin de terre battue ) ,compensé par un réveil au chant des oiseaux. A ne pas manquer
