Ski slopes very easy to access by free shuttles. Downtown Banff also SO easy with the Roam shuttles. Caribou gives you free Roam shuttle passes for your entire stay.
We had a room suite with the hot/jet tub and 2 bathrooms with a view which was outstanding. Staff are very friendly and helpful/ knowledgeable and the Keg steakhouse on grounds was excellent for breakfast too. Would definitely stay again.

We were incredibly happy with the Caribou Lodge. Emily checked us in and upgraded us to a suite for our anniversary. Check in was quick and even gave us a voucher for happy hour while our room was being prepped. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and the food in the restaurant was top notch.

The Caribou Lodge was good overall. The Keg in the Lodge was amazing. Unfortunately the suite, for which we paid extra, had several maintenance deficiencies that soured our experience. Like many older hotels, inexpensive bathroom and other fixtures break down. The sink dripped, the stopper didn't work, the coffee maker leaked, and other very minor things. An excellent feature is lots of high pressure hot water! And the staff were very friendly.

The pool was only a oversized hot tub. The room seemed small, the bathroom was a poor design if you are a larger person. The sink hung off the vanity, at the same level as the door handle. The toilet was no higher than the top if my calf. The front desk staff were hit and miss on friendliness. Breakfast was held in the onsite Keg restaurant and it was just average.

Only 2 real negatives, first and most important was the toilet was so close to the counter top (about 2 inches) that I could barely get onto it and it was so crowded that I literally could hardly function. No room at all to lean to do the paperwork if you know what I mean. They seriously need to center it between the shower and counter to make it functional. My only other issue is it was the first hotel I’ve stayed at in a few years that didn’t have complimentary coffee and water available in the lobby. To fill our water bottles the only option other than paying $3.25 per bottle from the vending machine was a water fountain located in the Hot Pool room but that’s only accessible from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM so if you’re leaving early in the morning, not a lot of options. Otherwise it is a very nice hotel.

Originally had rooms on the first floor, the smell of chlorine was overwhelming and burned our eyes and noses. Staff was very accommodating and moved us to different rooms, for a fee. The rooms were clean and beds and pillows were very comfortable. The soap, shampoo and conditioner are very nice but extremely scented, would be nice to have an option for sensitive skin.

Room was super outdated. Wasn’t very clean, so much dust everywhere and worn out furniture. Remote controls were filthy I had to Lysol wipe them. They also reuse the bottles for lotion and soap just refilling them as needed which is pretty gross. We almost left in the middle of the night. Would never stay here again. Only good part was having the keg in the building.

Pros: good location, shuttle to ski hills, good restaurant for dinner, nice hot pool, comfy bed, easy parking in garage. Cons: hockey team stayed two of my three nights. Loud running groups of people all evening till late despite calling front desk. Pools open late so guests coming back to room 10:30 pm loud in hall next to my room. Noisy and loud hard for skiers who need sleep and get up early. Fridge froze my food but hotel replaced it right away. Bathroom fixtures need some repair. Decor is worn. I wouldn’t stay here again due to noise.
