Breakfast was also good, with plenty of choice, but it was the evening meal that truly stood out.

What a hidden gem of a hotel! From the anticipated needs when booking to the friendly efficient staff on arrival and throughout out our stay and not forgetting the quality food served. Probably the best cooked breakfast I’ve had too!

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Mintlaw. As an old house, it has character. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The meals are excellent. This was our second visit and we will definitely return.

Fabulous stay at Saplin Brae
We had three rooms for one night, to celebrate a family birthday, and had dinner in the restaurant. The rooms were all extremely comfortable, with everything you could need. the bathrooms were great too. Dinner was really excellent and my son who has a dairy allergy was given his own menu to choose from, this was brilliant, and an added extra that was greatly appreciated. We had drinks by the fire before dinner, and returned there afterwards. Breakfast was delicious, staff so helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Love Saplinbrae and this was my fifth visit, and my wifes first. Thankfully she loved it as much as i do. Lovely room, comfy bed, great shower, very peaceful and the food is always outstanding but this was the best yet! Amazing staff as well.

The decor isn't overly Scottish like a lot of Scottish hotels. Just enough tartan without feeling like your trapped inside a Bay City Rollers reunion concert.

I love staying in this hotel.The staff are so welcoming and kind.I had breakfast and it was excellent both mornings.I was working in the evenings so unfortunately no glass of wine for me but I know the hotel has an interesting wine list( from a previous stay)I had a walk round Pitfour Lake which is up a track behind the hotel.See photos

We stayed in the hunting lodge despite booking a hotel room but it was very clean had a working tv great shower just what you would want definitely worth the money and the breakfast was amazing!

Just spent one night in a lodge. Very impressed with the quality of everything in the lodge. We made dinner and a cooked breakfast for 5 and had everything that we needed. Even supplied dishwasher tablets which we forgot to bring. Plenty of cleaning products supplied too.
Beds and bedding were of an excellent standard and the log burner was an added bonus. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

We had a fantastic family mini-break at Saplinbrae Hotel. It is a beautiful traditional Scottish hotel set in picturesque grounds. Our accommodation was lovely and we felt very much at home. Comfortable beds, lovely Ness toiletries and the kids loved their bath robes! Breakfast was delicious, as was our evening meal in the restaurant. All staff were very friendly and helpful. A hidden gem in Mintlaw & we most definitely hope to be back soon. Thank-you everyone.

We had a fantastic stay in one of the lodges at Saplinbrae. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, the ability to be a short drive to many places to explore in the area (Dunnottar Castle is a must!), and the lodge itself was cozy, fully equipped and had cows right outside our bedroom window. So relaxing! An added bonus was the adorable little welcome basket with local goodies! Perfect. Thanks for a wonderful few days!
