We stayed here for 1 night and it worked out very well for where we were in our journey. Room was quiet, spacious and had the basics of what you'd expect in a hotel room.
Breakfast was decent as well.
Parking was very easy as it was right in front of the property.
Staff was always kind and courteous to us and they kindly gave us an upgrade to a higher floor.

Great stay! The room was nice and cozy. It included a mini fridge and a stove, which came in handy. The bed, blanket, and pillows were all so comfortable. A great stay after a long travel and busy day.

The offered breakfast from 0800 to 1000. I didn't go, but my husband said they had scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, milk, boiled eggs, coffee, brownies, bread, and tea.

I'm not sure if anything will change after our start because when we checked out, two gentlemen mentioned they were setting up a new system because they were taking over the hotel.

A quiet place with large room in a forested setting. Breakfast includes hot items, cereal, bread and pastry. Grábrók crater and Glanni Waterfall are interesting attractions near by. Friendly staff helped in resolving our reservation issue even after-hours. We really appreciated their efforts. Thank you.

PHENOMENAL. My fiancé and I spent a magical night in this gorgeous hotel. We didn’t make use of the amenities despite them being a major selling point… we were too comfy and exhausted from a long day exploring and hiking. We will be very happy to come back in the future, however. The staff are beyond wonderful. Thank you!

We stayed for one night and the room was lovely. Nice staff at the front desk and restaurant. Room was clean and spacious, with a very cool poured concrete shower. Breakfast was included and was plentiful with lots of vegetarian options.

Restaurant staff was abysmal. Restaurant was nearly empty, there were 3 waitstaff. We had to ask for our drinks AFTER the food had arrived. It still took nearly 10 minutes to receive our drinks. And we could see the staff standing around talking!

Biggest room we stayed at in Iceland!! Lots of shelves ,drawers and closet space. We spent 15 nights at 15 hotels ,so we are experts in hotels. Conveiently located near many sights. The hotel food for dinner we thought was a bit expensive. Our waiter from Ukraine spoiled the hotel feeling for us with his attitude. Hopefully having a bad day.

Upon entering the building we found a broken down car in the parking lot (flat tires), a camper up on blocks. The outside was not maintained. Once we checked in to the room we immediately decided to leave. Smell! The staff would not refund us any money and were rude. Between the time we checked in and left (15 minutes max) someone had broken a glass bottle in the entrance driveway. I did go back in to tell the staff.

Hotel Bifrost staff was friendly and engaged, their dining and lobby area was clean and comfortable to relax in. The rooms were clean if a little dated, but a large amount of space to unpack if you were staying longer. Very large area for shower which was a pleasant surprise. We were overlooking some nearby homes and there was some traffic noise, but nothing distracting. Did not try the breakfast but looked appetizing.

Great hotel restaurant. Lovely bar. The rooms are nice, but not well designed. The shower got water all over the bathroom. There were no blackout curtains so it was bright all nice- Iceland summer. The window only cracks about an inch and there is no ventilation. It was very odd to be stifling hot in Iceland.

The property is a bit outdated, the bathroom needs an upgrade, however the rooms are large, with mirrors, refrigerator, a small kitchenette. The breakfast was awesome the best we had in Iceland. Dinner was good however as a vegetarian my choices were extremely limited for a price of ISK 8900. We had a stopover for one night and had a comfortable stay.

The service was great at this hotel and the food was good. Everything was clean. The entrance was difficult to find though. It looks like a college dorm that has been converted to a hotel. The toilet seat in room 308 needs to be fixed. The toilet seat moves around a lot. It would be nice if the rooms had bigger tvs and more channel choices. There was an odd smell in the hallway.

Manager was one of the best I ever have met, we arrived there before our booking from Orbitz did show on their computer, but he gave us a room anyway and he said we can check at dinner time if booking came true other ways we fix it in the morning!! I have never in 34 countries I have stayed in and hundreds of Hotels never got this FRIENDLY service. Bravo \"10 Stars\"

When I arrived, my reservation could not be found that I had made a month earlier (and had a receipt for, confirming my payment). We had an overpriced dinner at the restaurant, the salted cod was terrible and they did not attend to us at the table. We discovered the two glasses in our room were dirty, with lip marks on them and specks of dirt. At check out time, they still had not resolved the issue of the reservation and asked for payment for both our dinner and room which was confirmed to have already been paid on the receipt I showed them. The hotel has an odd atmosphere. The main things that are good: large rooms and the breakfast. The people working there tried, but this place clearly has poor management and administration and should not be on Expedia if it is not receiving communication about reservations and payments.

This hotel's response was terrible. When I was not able to go to this hotel due to delayed baggage and road conditon, I asked the hotel to cancel the booking or transfer to other day via message in Expedia. However, they didn't do any reply until I sent the second message next day. Although I was not able to use phone call, they said I should have called them to push it and refused cancel and refund without considering my situation. Finally I was not able to stay here and get any refunds for cancell booking, even an portion of breakfast. It was worst hotel experience I've ever had.

Large comfortable room, fantastic food

Large room with table and 2 chairs and kitchenette. Huge bathroom. Very nice lady working there helped us resolve a situation with a reservation we had for the next town we were going to. The food at the restaurant there was fantastic. Best meal we had on our entire trip. Only negative was no wash clothes in the bathroom. Encountered this at a few other hotels - maybe that is a European thing? We were told this hotel was a dormitory for a college. If so, these college students live in luxury.

A Hotel that is remote but handy for breaking the journey on the Ring Road. Beautiful and much less known Glanni Waterfall nearby where we enjoyed some walks and the lava field landscape is amazing. The Hotel seemed to only have 1 staff member on at any one time who was everything to everyone. Cosy and warm and the room was spacious. Enjoyed the Hot Thermal pool.

Convenient place for one night stop. Rooms are renovated, very big, comfortable twin beds, room has with kitchen amenities, huge bathroom. Reception needs renovation and staff to serve it, as at the moment restaurant staff serve the reception desk and you have to wait. Also the lady when I checked in wasn't very polite and did not shows me the way to the rooms, which are in separate building so I had to figure out by myself, anyway on the next morning the other girl in the restaurant was very friendly, helpful and polite.
So might be is good her colleagues to learn from her about hospitality.

This is a nice, quiet hotel and a convenient stopping point to northern Iceland. However the hotel have charged me twice for the room and despite agreeing to refund, 20 days later have still not done so. I will now have to pursue this through my credit card company.

Friendly and helpull staff.
Huge room, more like an apartment, with a small kitchen and fridge. Comfy beds and wonderfull mountain views.
The shower was big, but it had no curtain, so the bathroom floor was flooded after every shower. The towels were not clean which was a bit disturbing.
There is also a gym, but it didn't look so good, and a hot tub.
The breakfast was tasty and various.
The hotel is being renovated now, so I'm hoping it would look a lot better in the future.

Restaurant staff are also handling the reception, which may give you long waiting time in the restaurant when guests arrive. Hot tub is small and in a very unappealing location. We we given incorrect hours for breakfast and thus missed it one day. Rooms however are nice and spaceous. Most staff friendly.

Hotel is in a series of buildings which seem like an odd mismatch. Felt a bit like a school campus. Our room was in a large concert block away from the main building. Room was large and clean if in need of a bit of a revamp. Just felt a little uncosy. Restaurant seemed expensive even by Icelandic standards and food was mediocre. Hot tub was lovely and warm and in a sheltered area but a bit full of leaves. Breakfast buffet was good and the staff very friendly, helpful and informative.

Sólveig was the most helpful staff I've met in Iceland. Although I have changed my mind few times, she's still very patience to arrange the rooms for us. The hotel was a bit disappointed, the window next to the radiator could not close properly and the windows were dirty. The room & the bathroom were spacious but with small bed.

Good stopover. Service was a little slow. We arrived at 845 but the hotel staff had already gone. Had to get the restaurant staff to help. Fitness center key unavailable so had to ask to let us in. The room was quite spacious (was a converted dorm room). Breakfast was adequate but lacked variety. Also service to refill items that were gone for breakfast was very slow. Mini market was great with a large selection.

Interesting hotel, it's actually a college and the old dorms are now hotel rooms. They are absolutely massive and the grounds are quite unique. There is a restaurant on site that was nice however if you want a variety, you have to drive a bit, the hotel is off on it's own. If you're driving around the ring, it's a good stopping point in between Reykjavik and Akureyri.

You actually stay on a small University campus that turned a part of it into a hotel--- so it seems. There is a kitchenette in room but no items to use it. There is a place for dinner and breakfast is included in the price. When I booked thru hotels.com I was told a price to be paid at the hotel. My husband paid a higher price at checkout and did not question it because he was not aware. That was a disappointment.

The rooms are very spacious by Icelandic standards. There is a minimart on property giving your break a wallet. The restaurant is a good mix of fancier food and comfort food. The view of the hotel at sunset is gorgeous. The restaurant is lit by candle light and very nice.

Good facilities and convenient location

This hotel was not at all what I had expected. We had a nice room with a small kitchen and huge shower. There was a gym on site too with outdoor hot tub etc.
It was a bit 'dorm-room' style though, explained by the fact tha the facilities are shared by a university, and the restaurant and bar lacked character or coziness. Our room was also not cleaned after we arrived (more of an apartment rental agreement)

Fatastic view from room, big rooms with kitchen. Very clean and modern. Very spacious. Simple breakfast with a Fantastic view! Very kid friendly hotel. Would book here again if we are back here. The hotel have everthing within the hotel - restaurant, mini market, gym, kindergarten, hot sauna etc.

Nice hotel easy to go explore various unique areas

Staff was extremely helpful and kind, provided excellent breakfast. The area is such a good place to use as a base for exploring the western pennisula, the Borgarnes area, geothermal activity and pipeline nearby, the lava fields, beautiful farms in the valley below, central to many roads so you can easily get to good weather conditions to enjoy Iceland easily, and change planned to suit the day.

Weird looking place looked rundown and closed

Really odd looking almost Soviet style buildings, room was okay but restaurant and gym facilities were really run down. Quiet until the dog started barking in the morning. Blackout curtains had gaps! Bring your sleep mask!
