1. Make sure to walk about the historic sights. So interesting! Lovely little village.

3. The food at the restaurants wasn’t great — way too salty and seasoned and the vegan option had no protein.

Hotel was modern & good. But they could be a bit flexible in allowing guests to access to a microwave- people come from all over the world & may have dietary restrictions (no option for dining other than their own restaurant)
The receptionist told us we will have to pay for the spa even though we had free spa access- having booked thru’ Expedia. We did not go to the spa so don’t know about it

The hotel was very quiet. It had two hot tubs in the yard and a nice lounge on the bottom floor. As there wasnt any other dining options in the area, we ate at the hotel. The meal was excellent, if not for the price, we would recommend it for everyone.
The room was comfortable, and we had a good night sleep!

The room is as quite nice for even a twin room. There location is great if your are glacier tour bound The village is quiet and even though there are some lights from another facility. I was abke to walk out tgd hotel go a couple hundred meters yo a large field and see the Aurora Borealis. 😊

Really nice family room. Could be better sound proofing though as we could hear nearby doors closing all night. The staff at the restaurant could be more attentive, never checked how our meal was and took literally forever to get our bill. Overall, pretty nice place to stay.

The alarm went on at midnight for no reason. It wake me up. Phone in the room was not working. No staff in the front desk for the fire drill instruction. Everyone stood in the lobby and feeling anxious. We didn't know who to call since we didn't have the emergency phone number of Iceland. In fact, the bed fitted sheet was worn-out and made me itching all night long. Additionally, there was no heat in the room. This is the most expensive room who changed almost $400 per night making me had a terrible experience on this trip.

Hotel was fantastic, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, rooms are nice and big. However there was a disconnect between the hotel and Expedia, not sure whose fault it was: we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers over 12, when booking the hotel, the only option we had was to book 2 rooms. However upon check in, the hotel put us in a family room, which had a main room with king bed and an adjoining room with a single over double bunk bed, it would have been the perfect size for our family. Instead we paid for 2 family rooms, complete waste of money! I want an explanation from either the hotel or Expedia and expect nothing but a full refund for the extra family room.

Other than this issue, everything was perfect. The hotel is out of the way, not much dining options around 30 km radius, you’ll need a car to get around.

For wanting to see the lava tube and the falls, this location was perfect for us. It all worked out well from a comfy bed to a nice breakfast. Dinner was also excellent. The only downside I can think of is that the rooms seemed a bit smaller than we experience at the other Fosshotel. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

I spent 1 night only in this hotel when I stopped for a layover. The hotel is modern and mostly updated. Unfortunately, the only one area in the hotel which seemed a little bit outdated was my room, but I still felt super comfortable and liked it a lot. Check-in was super fast. I got a room on the first floor, but I did not really like being on the first floor, because people could easily see me through the window, so I always had to keep the curtains closed. I really loved the big and long window in my room, the room was bright because of much daylight. The bed in my room was super comfortable. The bathroom was pretty big, but it was the most outdated looking part of the room. I wish It looked newer and more modern. I loved having a bathtub there which was big too and fit me (6 feet tall) perfectly. Unfortunately, the shower did not work well. Actual shower knob was broken and shower did not work at full power. Also the bathtub was missing a plug to block water from draining. So I had to go to the front desk and asked for the plug. The bathroom amenities were of a very bad quality and smelled bad. Wi-Fi was working very fast. The hotel has a little spa area for extra money, but it is closed at 9 p.m. every day. I tried food in the hotel’s restaurant, and it was very disappointing! Expensive and very bad tasting! Plenty of free parking at the hotel. The scenery around the hotel is truly beautiful! I fully recommend this hotel if you need to lay over.

This was a very nicely maintained property, great location, staff was friendly, restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast (breakfast not included, paid for when booking room). Only issue we had was that the outdoor hot tubs were considered part of the spa and had to pay 2500ISK per person to use, even though we arrived at 7pm. So we ended up not using them, but they looked nice. Otherwise, room was great, beds were comfortable, had a nice little patio since we were in lower level.

This was overall a nice stay in a small town while we weee exploring Western Iceland. The foyer is more modern and clean than the rooms (just so people are aware) but it worked for the two nights we stayed. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinner service was decent. Second visit to the hotel, since last time the spa has been built. The spa is modern and clean, lovely hot tubs outside and steam and sauna. Only concern is the gender neutral changing facilities; there were no single sex areas for women to be away from men whilst changing. This area was also very quiet and there were no attendants nearby, so not friendly for single women.

Otherwise the hotel provides a good service with lovely food. The menu did not change during the four nights we were there, this could make choices restrictive if staying for longer given there are limited restaurants in the immediate area.

The hotel is ideally suited as a base for touring. The staff were friendly and at the main reception available for most of the time.

This fosshotel has a nice restaurant and main entrance area and has a nice bar. The front desk staff was very professional and kind and the service in the restaurant was good. Breakfast here is also a better than what we had at other places. My only disappointment was our room. The pictures show an updated hotel but our room (113) was still in a previous state not like the modern looking rooms on the pictures. But the room was large and the beds comfortable. It just needs a bit of a facelift. But the stay was good and the service and food were good. There is not much in the area to do. But a nice enough place for a day

In my brief experience as a tourist in Iceland, I learned to dislike Fosshotels in general. This one was typical: overpriced and pretentious yet with no more style or warmth than a Midwestern motel chain. Large and showy, they do not try to fit the local architectural style. Of the two rooms we booked, one was given to us uncleaned, the other was not set up for the bedding choices requested; poor management seems to haunt this chain. Decor consisted of three poor quality reproductions (the same one twice) awkwardly scattered around the walls. Breakfast was ample, heavy on the sweet pastries; but they were \"out of skyr\" (at 7:30 am! In Iceland!). The people staffing the breakfast area were the nicest we'd encountered at any Fosshotel. They should get a raise. We stayed here because it was the only game in town. Having learned from experience with another Fosshotel, we did not eat dinner here.

This is a SERIOUSLY GORGEOUS hotel with pleasant views and AMAZING food; just AMAZING. We stayed only for one night, but what a wonerful night it was. I wish we could've stayed a week. The rooms are spacious and very clean, as well as well-decorated. Our dinner was awesome, and when it come sto breakfast, trust me, go ahead and spring for the breakfast they offer. It's a REAL breakfast buffet, complete with everything you could want (incl., eggs, bacon, sausage for Americans).

We have just arrived at the hotel and all I can say is WOW, absolutely amazing. We arrived late at almost 10pm, Miguel the receptionist was amazing and arranged for the with the chef and restaurant staff to make us some hot food as we had been traveling for 6 hours even though they was closed. The service has been exceptional by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Iceland.
