It was amazing . Easy, we arrived midnight and they took us to our room on a golf cart. Communicating to have the room cleaned , needed new towels , within a short time staff arrived. Jobos beach was 6 min away , crash boat 20 min. Plenty of food options outside the resort.

While the grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, our stay was not good. First off, it was raining when we arrived and a staff person pointed us to the wrong cabin (the cabins are a good schlep from the carpark), so we had a hard time, to say the least, getting in. The cabins have a weird #ing system and the numbers aren't visible from any distance, hidden behind (lovely) shrubbery. Then, when we finally found the cabin (she had said go left when it was go right), there was no overhang to protect one from rain and there was a gap in the rain gutter so a deluge was coming off the roof and the porch was not tilted away from the cabin, so there was a lake at the entrance. (Fortunately, we had umbrellas.) Next morning, when we tried to shower, no hot water. We were meeting friends, so had to leave, but reported the issue to mgmt. Back that nite, tried to shower, no hot water. Called frnt desk, person said there was a \"special way\" to turn on the hot water. Maint. guy came over and said \"Let it run.\" We let it run; hot water in the bthrm sink and HE SAID in the shower. But when I finally got in, tepid, not even warm.(I'm stupid for not checking for myself, I guess.) By this time, I HAD to shower, so I gritted my teeth and had a cold-water shower. Will never return, and cannot recommend this property to ANYONE.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but I hope this helps others decide where to stay.

Our disappointment began at check-in. The room looked very different from the photos and appeared dated, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. We found loose wires, black tape on walls, exposed AC tubing, and nonworking exterior lights. We requested a room change but never received a follow-up.

Communication was a recurring issue throughout our stay. One morning, we requested basic items like towels and a broom. Despite multiple calls and visits to the front desk, it took nearly 10–12 hours to receive only part of the request.

At around 9:00 p.m., someone attempted to open our room door while my family, including my infant child, was asleep.

The staff were kind and professional, but the problems seemed to stem from management and communication. Unfortunately, our experience was very different from what was presented online.

Villa Montana is in a wonderful location, family friendly, on a private beach with a Horse ranch next door. Our Villa was a bit small but it worked, drapes worn torn and the decor could use an upgrade. Beds on the beach needed new upholstery, looked worn and tattered. But overall a nice and peaceful getaway. Jobos Beach is nearby, lots of restaurants to choose from. Locals are great, very polite and helpful. would love to come back with the family for a reunion.

5 stars all around. I booked this stay as a gift for my wife’s 40th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to help make it special for her. They had a bottle of champagne waiting in the room, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly appreciated.

My wife and her friends had an amazing experience and spoke very highly of the service, the atmosphere, and the overall stay. The team was warm, attentive, and made the celebration feel memorable from start to finish.

Thank you again for helping make such an important birthday even more special. Highly recommend.

Beautiful scenery however, the only restaurant on site requires reservations, we waited 2 hrs for a soda, 1 hr and half for coffee. Our food came out before our coffee during our entire stay. Rooms are a very far walk, front desk never responded to new towels and a ride to the restaurant. Rooms are small. Beach is rough. No amenities. Wouldn’t travel here again.

Grounds are beautiful. “Deluxe” rooms are outdated. Bathrooms system is very poor. Bathrooms plumbing is awful. Toilets Clogging and over flowing . Mildew and mold in the bathrooms. No furniture in the rooms and minimum outside terrace.
Restaurant staff works diligently to try to keep up as they are constantly short handed.
Bar and restaurant waiting was excessive.
This is not a Four Star Facility. Disappointing

Beach was fine, very small area. The hotel did not tell us prior to booking that a wedding was going to shut down almost all of the amenities to utilize.

The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the other room next door.

The word “villa” and “view” do not accurately describe this booking. The photos ave different then the initial room we got, we only moved rooms once we brought it up. Then were switched to a room that did have a similar layout to the photos, but no view at all, and was attached to another unit via a paper thin door that didn’t even sit flush to the floor. The property is lovely and the restaurant staff is excellent. The superior room is small but fine with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom definitely needs to be updated. Housekeeping services were not always provided. For over $400 per night, I certainly expected to come back to a clean, well stocked room at the end of the day.

Let’s start from the beginning! After my reservation I try contacting the front desk to add 2 massages to our stay, called 17 times in 2 days, no one answered. The 3rd day someone finally answered, to tell me they didn’t have massage therapist on site during my stay. We ended up having to bring our own. We arrived, the room was not ready. They did offer a discount for the inconvenience. We made a reservation in the restaurant, arrived a little early went to the bar to order some drinks while we waited, was stop by personnel because we can’t use the bar until we get seated. Made me stand up from the chairs, go to the host, to only seat us were we were seated, the place was empty.
Drink took a full hour, by then the table was ready. They seat us in an area that was not next to the water and we asked for it ahead of time. We noticed 2 tables next to the water, asked for them a second time and said that they need to be clean and it will take time for them to be cleaned. Instead of go ahead, have an initiative and clean the table. They just left the table dirty, and sat in the middle of the saloon with no water view. By the time for ordering took another 35 minutes, I asked to change my Jasmine rice to another side, like mamposteao rice or white rice with beans or even shoestring fries, they told me that substitutions were not allowed that if I wanted a different side, I will have to pay for an extra side. I was appalled, I went ahead and ordered an extra side or rise that was

Very quiet and peaceful. Great housekeeping the one day we requested it. The kitchenette in the 1BR provided great flexibility for us. We enjoy going to the grocery store for picnic food and simple lunch/breakfast. Gym equipment is old but got a great workout, and the on-site restaurant was good.

Pictures looked beautiful so I didn’t mind paying so much. The villa we got was disgusting. Dirty, out dated, full of mosquitoes and ants. No hot water in the shower. The beach furniture was broken and old. Pool was dirty and had a list of 20+ rules. There was also a pack of 8 dogs running around. I didn’t say anything to the staff because I didn’t want them hurt. We ended up only staying 1 night because we were so disappointed. Now we’re fighting with the property to try to get a refund. Pick a different location. The area is BEAUTIFUL, but not this property. The pictures are probably from 10 years ago.

Nice, quiet place, perfect for a low key getaway. Service and staff are fantastic, whether at Front Desk or at Eclipse (restaurant). Only thing I slightly off was housekeeping, but never happened. Otherwise, this was as fine as could be! Pro tip: if you like birds, download the Merlin app, and either just after sunrise or just before sunset, go outside and check to see how many you get (spoiler: probably quite a few!).

At check-in, asked to extend an additional night. Was told there was no availability. Went to our room, connected to wifi and booked the additional night through expedia. Was not made aware the large pool was closed for maintenance for our entire stay. There was an additional pool at the restaurant. Food and drink took FOREVER. Even just ordering a soda from the bar. The restaurant was never super busy or crowded, everything just took a long time. Only about 8 chairs for the whole beach and with a sold out resort for multiple weddings, that amount of chairs seemed crazy. Our 1 bedroom villa was comfortable, super dated like a '90s 60 and over retirement community in Florida. Found 2 cockroaches in the room, gross but we were surrounded by the outdoors and left the doors open at times for the breeze. Front desk was accommodating with our late checkouts. Wedding venue was nice, dinner and bartender took FOREVER.

The beach is spectacular; we snorkeled in a sheltered area. The restaurant, Eclipse, is great and the views are tremendous. The pool is big and we enjoyed swimming under the stars after dinner. The bucket with champagne on arrival was a nice touch. I appreciated the style and construction of the wood furniture in the bedroom. We would have appreciated daily housekeeping or every other day room refresh.

We had the most amazing time at Villa Montana! The beach was gorgeous and restaurant had amazing food and really great drinks. We only saw the main pool which was very nice and right off the bar at the restaurant. Everyone we interacted with was super kind and helpful, so props to the amazing staff. We ended up staying in one of the villas which was really nice, very clean and larger than we expected. We rented a car to drive to the resort from the airport in San Juan and it was an easy drive (depending on time of day / week might be some traffic but it was a beautiful drive and took about two hours). Plenty of parking throughout the resort.

Things to know:

There is a big disconnect between what they advertise and what they provide.

The property has many (mostly?) privately owned condos so it's liken to staying in an airbnb/vrbo property, not what is usually referred to as a beach resort hotel. We had a one bedroom that was sort of updated. What they list as charming consisted of what seemed to be some old, IKEA-like furniture; a hodge-podge of stuff put together (some poorly). The light switches were broken, flimsy doors, loose handles, closets didn't close, and the walls are so thin that it sounds like the neighbors are in the same room.

They advertise that they have bikes which implies that if you are in good health you can bike to restaurants, grocery, etc. within a few miles. However, not until checking in, you learn that you are not allowed to bring the bikes off property. You can ride around the parking lot and on a short, on-property road consisting of driveways.

The hotel guests seem to be treated as an afterthought and things were a bit sketchy. We were there 3 nights and several things happened where they were simply dishonest, both property related and in the restaurant (food is fine). While waiting for a taxi at reception I heard an employee on the phone answering questions from a potential guest about the property. She was rolling her eyes and silently mouthed a profanity in to the phone. That kind of solidified the overall vibe.

The property has no beach for any human to swim, it’s located near the beach yet it’s unsafe due to the mass rocks along the coast. The restaurant had limited seating the staff not very friendly. The rooms are extremely outdated, dusty, cobweb's filled the ceiling & overpowered with ants. The bedding was stained from the many previous guest and semen stains on the mattress pads. This is a ghost town place as there were 7 bookings for the day and lots of empty villas. I never felt safe at the property my door was not secure anyone had free access to the villa & the bedroom door was so hollow I could hear footsteps in the hallway constantly. This place is an absolutely never for me and would never recommend. So much for supporting the locals.

Restaurant was excellent, If you want to be quiet is a perfect place! Clean but the queen size bed mattress in the master bedroom needed to be changed. It was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep. I was supposed to stay two nights and had to leave after the first because of the sleeping situation. I advise about the problem and they told me the manager was not there but was going to call me. Im still waiting for her call. If I go again to the property will go only for the restaurant, the staff and food was excellent.

Beautiful!! We stayed in the one bedroom villa and it was within easy walking distance of the pools, beach and restaurant. The villa was the perfect setup for us. Small kitchen with a cooktop, mini-fridge, small coffee maker (with coffee!) & laundry (with soap pods and dryer sheets!). Water pressure was good and the shower was hot! Hard to find in PR! Gorgeous, well-manicured grounds, pool (not the one next to the restaurant) was heaven. Everything was of superior quality - especially the bedding! The restaurant was also wonderful with top-notch service. Jobos Beach is 5 minutes away with plenty of restaurants and things to do. We cannot wait to come back!
