We were disappointed to arrive and find that the pool was completely closed. We were not aware of that on the listing. Outlets were very limited in the room and the few that were present were very high on the wall. We had to had to ask for an extension cord. It is an older hotel and our room was very “dated.” The air conditioner worked poorly so we were grateful for the ceiling fan. The bed was not comfortable. But the facility was clean, and the staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The lobby, entry, dining room and restaurant were updated and lovely. The location Is right next to the port and convenient to walking to all the restaurants and shops.. and our balcony had a fantastic view of the bay!

Hotel location is excellent. Staff is very nice and super helpful. We got the full sea view room with a balcony. Hotel is still using old school keys with a magnet attached for the room A/C unit to run. Everything was clean in the room. Great view. The beds are really short. We are 5.6' and it was barely enough for our height. But it was comfortable. Room has A/C and TV. Only the bathroom is outdated and needs to be redone. It was a pleasant stay. We will definitely come back again!

If its the cheapest option, you can choose it

The hotel is clean but quite old. The balconies are very close to each other, which means you might end up enjoying the view with your neighbor or being disturbed by their noise. The view is beautiful, but the closeness can be a downside.
There was a noticeable smell coming from the toilet drains, which seems to be more of a problem with the area itself. However, the water pressure and temperature in the shower were excellent. Despite the hotel’s age, I was pleased to find that there was no water pooling in the bathroom, which is a plus.
One thing I usually pay attention to in hotels is the shower curtain, and unfortunately, I didn’t find it very sterile. The hotel provided shampoo, soap, and other toiletries.
However, please take a look at the room with a queen-size bed and a sea view that was shown on the website, as well as the photos I’ve added. It’s an old-fashioned 140 cm spring mattress, and it’s uncomfortable—when you sit on one side, the other side bounces, making it feel quite small and unwelcoming.

Nice pool area and service at the reception was good.

The bathroom shower curtain was dirty and it touches your body as you shower because the shower area is very small. In addition, the shower curtain was too short. Therefore, the shower water dripped in large amounts onto the bathroom floor.

Outdated basic hotel with amazing staff

The staff at this hotel are really a credit to the hotel, they are so helpful and friendly in particular Maria who helped me to change the dates on my booking.

After entering our room we thought that the photos online were edited because although it was the same room as the photos it was not the same. The room was outdated and extremely basic not even a little table to sit down at. The shower was tiny (I am 156cm and 48kg)and I could hardly move in the shower and it’s so small that the shower curtain keeps sticking to your body when showering and I was disgusted by that because you don’t know how many people’s bodies that was sticking to before our stay.
The balcony is super small and so close to the next balcony that when you sit there you are almost face to face with the other guests on the next balcony which was awkward and uncomfortable and there is only one chair on the balcony so my husband and I could not sit on the balcony together to relax.
The hotel lobby toilets were disgusting every time I used it and always a stale smell coming from them. The hallway carpets outside the rooms was filthy and old. In general we found this hotel really outdated and the rooms are well overdue a renovation. This was a comfort double room not the basic room so I can’t imagine what the basic room is like.

Great location, mediocre hotel. A strange room: huge room, huge bed, huge terrace, and a jacuzi. But no shower, no tea or coffee nor a catle. Awful odor in the bathroom. Nice rooftop pool. No parking although website says there is free parking.

We loved the proximity of Hotel Samos to the ferry & all the downtown stores & restaurants. The rooms are small & the bathrooms were reminiscent of a cruise ship toilet. The morning breakfast was excellent. Everyday there were eggs, deli meats, cheese, fresh fruit & all the bread/cereal/yogurt (continental breakfast items) you could ask for. The staff were lovely & allowed us to store our luggage before check in as well as after check out. We had a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel needs upgrading especially the bathrooms. Everything is old. The shower is tight and the curtain rod was nearly falling off. The bathroom had a funky smell. The wallpaper is peeling. The water pressure and temperature would constantly change while you were showering.

Basic amenities like a tea pot aren’t in the room. There is a cute outdoor area upstairs with a pool but the pool is tiny.

The elevator was scary. Two times we went to get in and the gap under the elevator could be seen as the elevator wasn’t in its proper place. We took the stairs mostly.

Although the hotel is near the port which is convenient, parking is very difficult around the entire area. We eventually found parking in the port but if you don’t move your car from one side of the parking lot in the morning before the ferries come in you will end up stuck there for hours till the transport buses who block half the parking lot move.

The staff were great though. Very helpful when asked questions.

Breakfast was decent with some cute little croissants.

Location was acceptable and general condition of room was adequate however the configuration of the toilet and bathroom sink was absurd as it was almost impossible to sit 'front on' as the space between toilet bowl ands sink was too close.
Entry door, bathroom door and wardrobe door opened onto each other and made it difficult to access these areas. Lack of drawers for clothing.

Good hotel very near ferry from Kuşadası. The hotel is a typical Greek hotel, clean and comfortable ideal for a short stay.We had a garden room very quiet comfortable beds, air conditioning and a fan. Small shower room , plenty of hot water. Great for the price charged. Very good breakfast. No complaints.Good tavernas nearby and lovely bracket 6 Euro taxi ride away.

Well located city hotel

Well located hotel in the heart of Samos Town with excellent views of the town. The staff from the serving staff, to the front desk to the cleaning staff are dedicated to making the guest stay enjoyable. The breakfast is very good. Some hotel room bathrooms require updating and the WiFi can be inconsistent, but overall the stay was enjoyable.

Great location with amazing view, so long as you get a room with the view of the port. Wifi was very good from my room, I stayed on the 2nd floor. Breakfast was ok too. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Although room was very clean, it's in need of an update. Shower was vey small.

You can see the hotel from the ferry dock, so it is a very convenient location and has a beautiful view of the harbour. The staff are friendly and helpful, supplying me with a printed bus schedule and directions to the bus station. It was great to have a comfortable bed and pillows. I enjoyed a lovely cappucino outside one afternoon, and a nice glass of wine while waiting for the ferry back.

Good location but very budget hotel.

Samos City Hotel is very well located, as it is opposite the ferry terminal and is very central to the town.
Our room faced out the back, so had no views, but on the upside was very quiet.
Beds were very wide and comfortable, however bathroom extremely small and when showering the shower curtain sticks to you and the entire bathroom gets flooded. Also the toilet seat did not stay up. The room did not feel clean enough and the TV remote looked as though it had never been clean.
Staff are very nice and very helpful and know your room key number off the top of their head!
Pool had moss around the stars, so did not look like it had a recent clean.
The buffet breakfast was very nice with plenty of selection.
Book this hotel if you want location and budget style.

Would not stay again...

We stayed for 3 nights. I had read a review from over a year ago that mentioned construction and thought that the construction would certainly be completed! The construction was road construction still going on. Seems that they have been working on the main street around the harbor for well over a year...and it does not appear to be coming to an end any time soon. This understandably is not the hotel's fault. However, the door to our room had a broken lock which was not discovered until our last night...much too late to do anything about. We couldn't get internet in our room, there was only one plug to even charge anything and it was at about chin height on the wall so we had to put something underneath it to place whatever we were trying to charge. The pool on the roof was the best amenity and proximity to the port meant no need for a taxi but we had to dodge construction to get down the street. There are restaurants near by but the city of Samos itself lacks personality. It would be recommended to stay in the town of Pythegoria. It is very attractive and endearing. For the cost I would go someplace else to stay. In addition to the negatives, the beds weren't comfortable and the room was very old and dated. If its all you can find well...just don't expect much! (Also, based on our experience the Trip Advisor awards they have received should not be considered when selecting this property...not much to show for it!)

Stayed only one night on our way from other Greek islands to Turkey but overall a good experience. Nice hotel. Rooms more than adequate. Centrally located and close to all you need in Samos city. Nice rooftop pool/sun deck even if the pool is small. Friendly informative staff. We had a problem with room allocation - we had booked a sea view but were given a garden view. It took a little arguing but it was sorted amicably. Good breakfast. Close to old port (for Turkey) but Greek ferries arrive at new port a few km across the bay. No bus from new port so you have to take a taxi.

Clean Hotel located in the heart of Samos Town

We spent 7 nights here in Samos Hotel. From the moment we walked into the hotel, the staff was so very accommodating. We had a small room with two twin beds on the second floor over looking the sea. The room was small, but very clean and worked well for our needs. The A/C worked but took some time to figure out the controls. Bathroom was small but clean. The best part was the roof top pool, great view and a constant breeze. We had lunch and drinks several times on the roof top bar, excellent food and loved the Mythos Beer. Maria at the front desk could not have been nicer. Each morning she welcomed us and helped us figure out which beach or town to explore. Maria also guided us to use the public bus, super easy, 1.5 euros per person, only problem was the irregular bus schedule. Breakfast was fair, fresh fruit, salads, breads, juice, etc.....sitting outside was a nice addition. Would recommend this hotel !!!!

Great views from rooftop and balcony

We stayed one night in Samos. The hotel's location was excellent - right next to the wharf with plenty of nearby restaurants. We had a garden view room with a balcony. Even though we were not facing the ocean, we still had a good view over the city. I'd highly recommend a visit to the rooftop where the swimming pool and jacuzzi are located. The views are superb.

Convenient for the ferry

Literally right across the street from where the ferry pulls into Samos town. Other than that it's pretty average. If you're staying any length of time in Samos you're better off to find a place in one of the smaller towns on the island. If you're just in for a day or two before catching a ferry to Turkey (like us) then it will serve it's purpose.

Nice location!

We stayed 2 nights at the Samos Hotel and it was a good location, clean, and close to restaurants. The only things we didn't like was the noise from the street on the first night. Our room was on the main street over looking the harbor with a fantastic view, but it was noisy with motorcycles and cars. The second night it rained so the streets were empty and we slept good. If you like it quiet at night, ask for a room in the back. The view is nonexistent, but it's quiet.

Relaxing in Samos

Delightful lobby with a wonderful bar and separate breakfast area. Outdoor seating for relaxing coffees, teas or drings. Walking distance from the harbor docks. Rooms were above the average with complimentary soap and body lotion in bathroom. Small but comfortable balcony. The door from the hallway is very heavy and entry way hall is a little tight if you have large suitcases. I would certainly stay there again.

Very Satisfying Break

I would just like to say how much we enjoyed staying at
the Samos Hotel. We were very well looked after while
we were there. We had plenty of choice for breakfast,
The pool area on the roof was fabulous and Bettina,
the lady who looked after the bar in the pool area was
a mind of information about the island and places to
visit. I also loved the downstairs bar which had loads
of atmosphere enjoyed by tourists and locals alike. The
prices of drinks were no more expensive than anywhere
else and very nicely presented. We would certainly
recommend this hotel to others. The only thing I missed
was live music in the evening.
