The room was nice and clean exept carpets on the floor. The service in the restaurant was really bad. So slow but not interested at all in giving a s¨good service. A pancake for the kids was not possible to get, and no flexibility at all. Only one sachet of nescafe was available per breakfast. when you ordered a thing it took so long to get it, and you had to ask several time to be sure thay have not forgotten your order,

One of the best places to stay along the West African coast. The service is second to none. The rooms are clean, The food is excellent and most importantly there is a great variety of local Ghanaian cuisine- I strongly recommend the Red/red ( fried plantain and beans). The icing on the cake is the crisp, clean Ocean which is just metres away from your room!

Yes good breakfast on the beach. Pool was nice . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Resort had a lovely ambience and beautiful surroundings, turkeys , morning birds for the flowers , variety of trees , etc. Beach is not ideal for swimming but one can access a nearby beach next door.
Driver accomodation was a bit expensive.

Nice place to stay on the beach, gps directions to the place is not good at all, you have to call hotel for guidance. Road leading to hotel is very bad...beds are hard but beautiful place, security is good, food there is affordable and good..no night time entertainment

Great resort- terrible road!

The only problem with Charlestina,...is getting to it!. The road to the resort is terrible... and if i didn't know what a great place it is to stay, I would never go there.

The food is very good, staff are attentive but not annoying, rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds are pleasant and clean. Safe & secure!

DOWNSIDE: The dinner service was awful in every aspect of the word. Despite putting in our orders two and a half hours early, the dinner came out 4 hours later and was totally not edible. Food was cold, had no taste and all came out sporadically, some half hour later.
Approached owner to state the hunger situation and he just said it takes time with no offer of sympathy for the children waiting. Cocktails were also very poor with no taste to them.

UPSIDE: Breakfast was great with limits to how much you could enjoy. Pancakes were amazing and omelettes. No tasting faults with brekky at all.
Check in staff was pleasant. Owner Charles also came to welcome us. Matthew who seemed to be everywhere doing multiple roles was amazing, he was polite, warm and very accommodating to our needs.
Great site for watching and hearing the fishermen sing as they bring their loads of fish
In. Amazingly a place of tranquility. Perfect if they sort their dinner time out.

The physical site was satisfactory, except for an inadequate supply of soap in the room.
The restaurant staff was courteous.
The owner/manager staff was curt and discourtegous. Management refused to speak with customer instead requiring customer to communicate via a staff representative. The owner/manager refused to make any accommodations for the customer's needs for an additional night due to customer's motor vehicle breakdown. After numerous & unsatisfactory communications with the owner/manager's intermediary, the customer decided to check out of Charlestina & to secure alternative accommodations. At that point, the owner/manager's intermediary informed customer to check out within 15 minutes or to be subject to a late fee. Note -during this entire discourse, Charlestina had no electrical service, air conditioning or hot water, i.e. conditions about which the customer had never complained and about which Charlestina never acknowledged, apologized, or offered any gratituity.

It would have been nice to have used the pool and although the beach looked lovely, there was a bit of rubbish around.

Really nice quiet place to spend the weekend. Seafront is excellent. The sea i so clean and blue. Excellent swimming pool. Great local cuisine especially the Kontomire stew!!

I enjoyed watching the fisherman bring their boats onto the beach near the resort. It was nice having the opportunity to interact with locals from the community while being able to relax on the beach. While the drive in is a little bumpy and far from the main road, the resort itself was calm, clean, and beautiful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Had a very wonderful stay, rooms neat and bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly, environment neat. Beachfront is very serene and added attraction is the fishermen. Only downside is if you dont have your own mode of transportation, moving around can be very expensive.

Great beach stay

The beach villas at Charlestina are clean and the bathrooms are a good size. There is a longterm project to put a pool in which will be fantastic when it is done, but it looks like it is still quite some time away.

I have no complaints about the property it was so peaceful and quiet. I stayed over night in Cape Coast after touring the slave castles. Due to the roads not being in great condition I wouldn't recommend riding on them at night. I'm so glad I decided to go with Charlestina beach resort. The service was excellent, the food was magnificent and my room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room had A/C. It's a little off the beaten path but the can drivers know how to get there. It's not in walking distance to anything, this place forces you to relax and enjoy yourself.

We got in late but they were very accommodating. The shower is a surprise, as the whole bathroom will get wet. But they were great to help us clean up the excess water. All and all, I would go back. It's a very beautiful and peaceful place. Very kind people.

Perfect Place for Chilled Time

Fabulous, friendly place with great staff - Tina, Dixon and Elizabeth. Charles was a super-friendly host, rooms are immaculate and spacious and we had a very relaxing time relaxing on the beach, bar and restaurant, and watching football in the evening......definitely recommended and we plan to return soon for longer.

This was a brilliant experience! Charlestina was the perfect location for a beach holiday. The staff were helpful and they have the best cleaning staff in Ghana!

Victoria (cleaning staff) and Sofia were particular helpful.

The food was amazing also!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The chalet was comfortable, very clean and we loved sitting out on the outside veranda.

We were welcomed by the owners and staff.

The gardens were lovingly looked after and the flowering plants beautiful. It is important for people to know that part of the road access to the property involves untarred road! But stick with it for Charlestina is at the end of the road and well worth the trek.

We would definitely stay here again.

The Resort was Beautiful and quiet. The staff was marvelous.The room was nice and comfortable. The shower kept flooding the bathroom everytime we took a shower. No face towels provided for bath. No beach towels. Basically nothing to do on site. The Beach was wild and fishermen and boats. The food was good, but pricely and didn't have a lot of items. The distance from the sites was far and rides was costly.

This resort was incredible. We really enjoyed spending my birthday weekend there while visiting Ghana. The staff is superior. They attend to every detail. The rooms were well appointed with adequate furnishings. The bed was super comfortable.

We had a garden view. As it turned out the ocean is hard to see from the the chalet so I was glad I didn't pay for the upgrade.

The complimentary breakfast was good, not great. The pancakes were really crepes if you're from the US. They were excellent. We chose to have dinner both nights at the resort, although we could have eaten at a couple of nearby restaurants. We're glad we did because the food was EXCEPTIONAL! Everything we ordered was delicious.

We wanted to make sure my birthday dinner was special so we ordered it in the morning to have it ready at 7:30pm. It was great because it lessened the wait time since everything is prepared fresh to order. So be prepared to wait, but its well worth it.

The beach is amazing. There's an attendant at the beach to assist you with anything you need from towels to a cocktail.

What I really loved about the resort was the price. Many things in Ghana are either high priced upscale or really low priced poor quality. There are not many mid priced high quality accommodations. I highly recommend this place. I hope they don't increase the price or they'll be missing a niche market that's underserved in Ghana Tourism. Thanks for making my birthday special!

A little slice of paradise.

The place is immaculately clean. The proprietor and staff were warm, friendly and attentive. Everything in the room was brand new (TV, fridge, a/c unit) and the facilities were stellar. Food was great, but overpriced for the portion size. Overall I would stay here everytime I'm in Ghana! The beach was clean and the water serene. An absolutely lovely experience!

Der Service war sehr gut, wenn auch Frühstücksbuffet fehlte, da wir die einzigen Gäste waren (Regenzeit). Dass man Lunch / Dinner spätestens 1 Mahlzeit vorher bestellt sollte man beachten, dann kommt auch alles frisch und sehr pünktlich. Essen, insbesondere Fisch war super. Weiteres Restaurant nahe anbei fußläufig (nicht so gut, aber \"billiger\", kann oft nicht Wechselgeld rausgeben), kleiner Shop ebenfalls fußläufig erreichbar, ebenso Taxis und Kirche.
Hotelzimmer wurde täglich gereinigt (nach Ankündigung und Schlüsselabgabe, man wusste also wann jemand im Zimmer war; auch wg. Wertsachen sichern). Mängel (Lampendefekt) wurden umgehend behoben.
Poolbereich super, tiefster Bereich 1,7m, flachster weniger als 1m, also für Jeden/Jede gut nutzbar. Im Atlantic schwimmen: Am Besten zur Flutzeit, man sollte wissen wo die Steine im Meer strandnah sind (sieht man bei Ebbe sehr gut), da man sonst beim Schwimmen leicht darüber streift / diese berührt beim Schwimmen; evtl. ansonsten Strand relativ sauber und Meer (wie überall Plastikmüll, aber sehr begrenzt).
Bei Buchung Pkw mit Fahrer vom Hotel gut, wenn auch teurer als Taxis lokal, aber Pkw vom Hotel qualitativ besser, Fahrer auf sichere Fahrweise bedacht.
Fahrt Accra zum Hotel / retour sollte man möglichst Samstag oder Sonntag machen, andere Tage evtl. sonst statt im günstigsten Fall 4 Stunden Fahrt kann sodann evtl. mehr als 8 Stunden dauern. Straßen werden aber sukzessive besser (viele Baustellen), aber Accra Horror vom Verkehr.
