Hello, tourists and locals to Ghana: this resort was a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. It was clean. It was fun, relaxing, safe, and the staff was 100% willing to make you happy. The staff always goes out of their way to serve you. A big shout-out to Richard and Kofi-Black. The food was tasty and on point in terms of cooking - just overall excellent. I take my hat off to the chef. If you are looking for a vacation getaway while visiting cities in Ghana do take a booking at the Lemon Resort- Elmina, you will not regret it. Check out my pictures as well.

From arrival to departure, the staff was amazing. The rooms were clean and the property was clean. I got assistance checking into my room as well as when I checked out. It was a plus having a refrigerator in the room. I also loved getting 2 bottles of water each day. Thank you. Having a plant based diet, I was very pleased with the food options at the restaurant. I will be staying here again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The staff was polite, helpful and attentive. The grounds and units were clean and well maintained. The AC, water and electricity were 100% reliable. The restaurant served excellent food at drinks at reasonable prices (that is, there was no exorbitant resort markup; the prices were similar to what we pay at similar quality restaurants in the Accra area). Although the seawall prevented both direct surf views from our porch and easy access to the water, there was an open beach area only a 5 minute walk away where we could dip our toes and watch the waves. I recall that this was clear after a close review of their listing; anyway we knew about this issue ahead of time. (Note - the beaches along this part of the Ghana coast are generally not swimmable due to rip tides and hidden rocks).

Don’t miss Lemon Beach!

Lemon beach is a must do destination if you are going to cape coast. We had an amazing weekend. The staff are all wonderful— we had special and excellent service from Prince; we were grateful for George our driver and his team for arranging travel. While the beach right in front of lemon beach is not for swimming you can take a walk down the path and take a dip. We woke up to birds and ocean sounds and an incredible compound with a pool; gardens, great food and bar and Saturday evening cultural event with dancing and drumming from neighboring young people. We hope to return if we ever get back to Ghana. 🇬🇭

The staff is extremely helpful, kind and courteous. They were always genuinely helpful! They arranged our ride from Accra to resort and back.
George was our driver and became like one of the family. Very knowledgeable about the land, customs, politics and local events.
We will return. One critical critique, but we have stayed in 3 hotels in 10 days and had the same issue. We experienced it with the Lemon the last day of housekeeping, no facial or hand towels were provided. The Lemon only missed one day of this compared to the other hotels didn’t provide them even after requesting. Overall we give the Lemon Resort a resounding 10!

My daughter, and I, were recently traveled abroad to Ghana from the USA, and we had a most wonderful experience at the Lemon Beach Resort in Elmina, Ghana.

Our room was located, not in one of the huts, but on the ground floor of the main building. It was air-conditioned, and it had a clean bathroom, a lot of closet space, and it had great Wi-Fi. What was cool was that our room had sliding doors that opened up onto a porch with sitting area, to eat, read, or just take in the air.

The restaurant, or dining area, was in walking distance of our room. The walk to the beach was pleasant and clean, and there was a beach bar or tiki bar near the oceanfront. Drinks were available in the dining area. The food was excellent. I had the Tilapia and Banku dish and I loved it.

If you want a nice stay in the Cape Coast area, near the Cape Coast Castle, and want an affordable and delightful resort to vacation at with a partner, with a group, or with your family, please do make reservations with the Lemon Beach Resort in Elmina, Cape Coast Ghana. And please ask for GEORGE.

Wonderful Experience!

Loved everything about Lemon Beach Resort! The staff (every single one I encountered) was amazing, so incredibly warm and friendly. The resort also referred us to our driver, Moro, who was wonderful. Moro made sure we had a good time and saw as much as possible. I'm very thankful to have met him.

Enjoyed several night stay in March 2025 at property in beautiful spacious room facing the ocean. Property is very beautiful with a lovely swimming pool and restaurant and bar. Ocean access is restricted by rock barrier wall. Nice bathroom but recommend bringing non slip bath mat. Floors are slippery. Great stay in a historic area.

The room appeared to be clean when you enter. It smelled of water. The light switches were dirty. Hole in the comforters, paint peeling on the table. Chairs dirty. Air conditioner making knocking noise. No towels or tissues. When they did bring face towels they had body hair all over them. Feet hang off of bed. I am 5'8\". Staff was very nice but didn't seem to care.

Enjoyed the delicious food, the room, the friendly staff and the excursions (batik workshop and visit to Elmina Castle). The pool, restaurant and rooms are in close proximity. Plenty of space in the restaurant with a nice view of the ocean.

We’re vegetarian; had plenty to eat - delicious selections plus the best tasting pineapples and red red.

The beach is a short walk. Very relaxing place to visit.

They had several activities (canoe/boat tour, sports, batik cloth designing) etc.

Great resort and great service! The staff is exceptional in their interactions with guests! We stayed in the ocean view room which is excellent! There are cute small chalets on the property which adds charm, not sure how comfortable they are. The restaurant serves excellent food. The complementary breakfast is basic. The area is little away from main road and access road is not in good condition, but the resort is great and quiet! There is no direct beach access since there is a protective barrier, and can access with a short walk. The sea is very rough and beach activities are limited.

It's a beautiful hotel, with great service, food and staff. I did take advantage of a couple of activities offered by the hotel, the speed boat and I loved the Elmina's bicycle tour with Dennis. I highly recommend the resort and I hope to go back in a near future :)

Lemon Beach was the oasis my family needed after spending a few weeks in various parts of Ghana. I really appreciated the help we received from Isaac in reception and Prince in the restaurant. The property is gorgeous and caters to your every need. With the fan and the window open, we did not need air conditioning. The walk along the rocks to the beach is delightful and breathtaking. The swimming pool was cleaned daily and we enjoyed hearing the ocean waves while swimming. The restaurant staff works very hard and accommodated every request we made. We really enjoyed the food selection. There is security all along the property and many staff around to make you feel safe. There’s a lot of activities to keep you busy on the property. Elmina castle was a 5 minute taxi ride away too. I would visit Lemon Beach again in a heartbeat.

Clean, modern, beautiful decor, great location on the beach, wonderful attentive staff (Isaac, Jeff, Solomon, and all the bar staff sorry we didn't get your names!!) Staff could not have done more for us in our short stay. Pool was lovely too.
Rooms were spacious, I recommend staying in one of the huts on the beach! Cocktails were delicious too, get the Lemon Beach special!! Food was lovely with a great variety.

The resort is a bit outside of the city so need a cab or a 45 min walk. Really peaceful though. Easy to find.
The staff service was amazing. They make sure that we get everything we need.
George at the reception was really helpful.
Isaac and Prince also gave us a nice service.
The quality of the staff is an highlight to our stay.
Many avalaible activities on site. Beautiful beach. Great food. Really clean.
We had a blast.

I had an amazing time at Lemon. We were running late (arriving after 9pm) and the owner called and messaged us for our dinner order so that we were well fed upon arrival.
Once we arrived they had our rooms and keys ready. Staff stayed late to ensure we were set to go.
Food was great! Drinks great! Entertainment great! Owners and staff welcoming.
I did have an issue at the hotel and the owners responded immediately and apologized. They resolved it and created a great experience.

Lemon Beach is the place to be!

Having never travelled to Ghana to know the quality of hotels there, I was very anxious when searching for places to stay. To my great relief and pleasure, I found Lemon Beach, which met my hopes and more. The property is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The food and drinks were delicious, and there was a wide variety to choose from. I appreciated the extra detail in that the ice is made from filtered water, so I was able to truly enjoy the cocktails. The service was wonderful across the board. You will have a pleasant experience whether you interact with Vincent, Richmond, David, Prince, Frederick, George, Steven, Atsu, or Mike. The owners, David and Kofi are delightful and very accommodating as well. Even prior to my stay, they ensured me that my satisfaction was of the utmost importance to them. Additionally, they have great partnerships with the local community and are supportive of it in noble ways that they don't publicize. I found myself wishing that I had more days left to just hang around the resort. You can stop your search here, Lemon Beach Resort is the place to be!

We loved our stay - 2 nights -- the room and bed were very comfortable - we LOVED sitting on the balcony outside our room, overlooking the rest of the resort and ocean.
The property is beautiful.
The staff was super friendly, esp the restaurant guys: Felix, Richmond, Solomon, Augustus, Michael, Randolf and all the kitchen staff.
We did not know in advance that much of the beach in Ghana is not swimmable (ocean too rough) -- that made Lemon Beach's sharing of beach access with Coconut Grove, next door, much less of an issue! We happily walked over to stand in the surf.
A/C and hot water worked well.
Wait times for food at the restaurant were Ghana-long -- but one only needs to be prepared for this!
The road getting to the resort is long and bumpy -- we had a driver which made this less of an issue -- but one must allow for the time when coming and going.

Overall, this was a comfortable and delightful stay -- we would definitely visit again

My Heaven

Lemon Beach is favorite stay when in Ghana. I look forward to it. This was my 3rd visit in two years. The resort is fairly new and they have already done upgrades and renovations. The place is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. It’s a wonderful place for all ages but I highly recommend for couples. The staff is absolutely amazing and will do everything to make every guest feel like a VIP. The food is delicious and always fresh.

Besides the excellent facilities, staff members were very friendly and helpful. We had a small incident in the restaurant but we were very pleased with the way the Chief cook handled the situation. Along with him were Isaac (at the reception) and Prince (at the restaurant) that can be singled out, just to name a few, as we had the impression that staff took care of details. Keep it up !
