What a charming place. From the entrance to to the features in the room. Coffee cups with tea and coffee, rolls, yogurt and juice and milk. Also water bottles. More that I expected. Good bed.
Walking up the flights of stairs with suitcase is a lesson to pack lighter!
We arrived late. Immediately responded how to get in to get our key. Great communication

Great location, but a few things…

(1) the bed was very firm. This is normally not an issue, but woke up a little sore each day.

(2) the location is very good, maybe a little too good. The hotel overlooks a busy square (definite plus), and whenever you are that close, you should expect some noise. Padua is a college town, and the locals like their music VERY loud. I can sleep through noise, but despite closing every window, we could feel the bass until the early hours of the morning.

If you are coming to Padua to stay out late and party, this is a great spot! You won’t notice the hard mattress and loud music after a late night out!

Location is great, staff is super nice, location is great. Just be prepared for some loud bass. We stayed Fri and Sat night. Maybe not an issue mid-week.

very good location and place

A very pleasant hotel in the heart of town, which really enhanced the trip. The person who runs the place, Paolo, is charming.

The only thing that slightly disappointed me is that I had really hoped to get a view of the square, but instead got a room at the back of the hotel. So if that matters to you, check before booking. (The flip side is that the square is very busy with students late into the night, especially on weekends, while the other side is very quiet. So you should decide which you value more and choose accordingly.)

Paolo was attentive, kind, and patient when my journey was substantially delayed. I was able to contact the property easily and he made a bad day better. The property is on a beautiful square and walking distance to pretty much everything I needed. The room was comfortable, original, spatious and clean. The property was also secure and quiet. As a solo traveller I felt safe and cared for staying here and would recommend to solo travellers and couples. If I'm back in Padova, I would definitely book again.

Stayed 4 night for business during Jan 2025.
This is a pretty unique hotel - it is situated in a very old building (renovated, of course) right at Piazza dei Signori, so location can't be better.
We never met Paolo, out host. However, he has been super responsive and helpful over whatsapp.
I had a room with a balcony over the Piazza, so great view. The room is of a good size in European standards, Cleanliness is perfect. The room has a large closet, so a lot of room for clothes. There is a desk if you want to open your laptop. Overall very convenient. Also, the bed is comfortable.
The room is made up every day. There is a fridge where you'll find 2 bottles of water, 2 yogurts, 2 fruit juice bottles, 2 croissants, 2 muffins, some coffee capsules and a matching espresso machine. The drink and food items are replenished daily, and this is what the included breakfast consists of. If you don't like it, there are are dozens of coffee shops in the 1 minute walking distance range.
As others have mentioned, there is a steep staircase going up to the rooms, so this place is not for elderly or disabled people, probably.
Regarding what others have written about the noise - yeah, the Piazza gets very loud at night but if you shut down the blinds and close the windows, you can barely hear anything. I was there during January, so can't say anything about the A/C. Heating worked great.
Overall, if I'll visit the area again, I'll try to book Diamantino as my first option.

After not being able to gain access to another property we had booked which was nothing to do with and no fault of Hotels.com or Diamontino Town House, we found ourselves having to find alternative accommodation for the night late in the evening or face having nowhere to sleep. We found Diamontino Town House on Hotels.com but they would only take a booking for a minimum of 2 nights. As we were in a fairly desperate situation, we had little choice but to take it, so we booked it and as required, payed for it up front. Only AFTER the booking was accepted and payment was taken did we receive a message saying that check in closed at 5:30pm and any arrangements to check in later had to be made 24 hours in advance. Of course if we had known this before we had booked and paid we would not done so. We went to the property anyway to see if we could get in but found the doors locked and no way of entering.
We now found ourselves not able to get into a second room we had booked and paid for and as it was by now about 10:00pm we desperately had to find a third room, which we were successful in doing. It was only about an hour later and without any indication that it was coming, that we received an email with entry instructions.
We have since made application to Diamontino to get a refund for the room we were not able to access but they have refused.
I think this is an appalling and disreputable way to do business and I would in no way recommend this property to anyone.

Diamantino is located in a busy square in the centre of Padova. We loved the location, there are many restaurants and cafes just on the door step. The main shopping streets are a few minutes walk. The room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were great.

Good place in central Padova

Nice room. Very central in Padova. Clean and good service. Coffee and breakfast snacks in the room.
Stayed the night between Sunday and Monday. It was strangely quite noisy till very late (3 am) from the activity in the square outside. So be sure to get a room facing away from the square if you are sensible to noise.

Hard to find but great location

I had a little trouble finding it. It’s just a door between two restaraunts in the square. But the room was very clean and nice, and it was very cool to be right above all of the activity.

Good location. However - our room was at the top, which meant climbing 80 steps!
Breakfast was meant to be served in one of 2 immediately nearby cafes. However, despite claiming to open at 7:00 neither opened by 8:00 on the 2 days we were there, so we had to go elsewhere.

Friendly great place to stay in Padua

I enjoyed my stay at Diamantino Town House. The room was large, clean, well heated (if a tad over-heated but rectified by opening the bathroom window) well-equiped and nicely located in one of the main squares. All of the sights I wanted to see were in walking distance, and I walked both from and back to the station with my luggage in less than 20 minutes. There were plenty of restaurants in the square. As some previous reviewers mentioned noise from the square, I elected to have a room at the rear of the building. This had a view of the rooftops, and was extremely quiet. Check-in was friendly and I contacted Paolo as I would not arrive in Padua until after 17.30, after the usual check-in time. This was no problem. My only suggestion would be a kettle for the room. It had a fridge so a kettle would be a nice addition.

Good stay if you can do steps...

This is a four story small hotel in a great area (Piazza La Signore).
Check in is in the afternoon but it is important to coordinate with owner
when you will be there as they don't wait around if you're late.
The room was OK (we had a back room away from the square which is
less noisy.) Our room was on top floor so we had a lot of steps to climb
(no elevator). Overall it was fine for our one-night stay. It is about a 15 minute
walk from the train station so we took the tram (about 3 stops). Then it was another
5 minutes or so walk to hotel. We like to walk so wasn't a big issue for us...

It took 2 days to fix the air conditioner

The location is great but the manager did tell me that the taxi stand would be closed in the day I was leaving so I walked many blocks to find another. This is a small hotel 5 rooms! So u think she would told me. Also the tv only works occasionally!!!

We got no sleep because the room was so hot due to the air con not working. The open window meant loud noise all night until early morning. The owner indicated he woul do something about the air conditioner but disappeared.

Great place to visit

Padua is a great place to visit - stand out places are the Giotto painted Scroveni (?) Chapel, the university visit , and the Botanical Gardens. The Town house is ideally placed on a main square. It is only manned at the front desk by request so make sure you arrange on arrival. Breakfast is complimentary at one of two nearby cafes on the square. We had a room at the top of the house so lots of steps to get to it, as there's no lift. Room was OK, bathroom quite cramped and very poor shower, but overall its OK for the money

A great location in Padova

Diamantino Town House hotel is a great cheap comfortable place to stay in Padova IF you can climb stairs and carry your bags up them for several stories. The location is fantastic, but a bit difficult to get to because of restrictions in the old historical part of Padova. Still, a taxi can get you there. In addition, you can park a few blocks away, 5 minutes walk. The train station is too far away to reasonably walk from.
I was disappointed not to have a room with a balcony facing the square the building is on, that was the thing that tipped me in favor of this hotel as I thought all rooms faced the square. But when it is all said and done, I may have been better off at the back as the market in the square starts setting up pretty early and that can be a bit noisy.
Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, the internet worked (something that is hit and miss in Italian hotels). The breakfast at a cafe at street level was authentic, but Italian breakfasts are not much. I'd definitely stay there again if I were in Padova. For the price, it is an excellent deal.

This is a really central location - one one of the central piazze of Padova. The piazza is busy, with bars, ristorante and a market in the mornings right outside the door but rooms are well insulated and you won't be disturbed. There is no one on site, so you need to arrange arrival timing, and you may have to hang around if there is no one there. Breakfast is in a busy bar downstairs - very friendly staff, but busy, and tricky to get a seat at times. Hotel staff will park your car for you, but unless you are very brave, I would not recommend driving to the hotel: park on the outskirts and walk!

Central, front rooms have view and street noise.

This hotel, basically unstaffed except for checking and maid service, is in a superb location on one of the most beautiful piazzas in Italy. It's not quite a mile / 1.5 km by foot from the train station. A GROM gelateria and another one not a chain are immediately below.

That said, the rooms were probably great five years ago. They are starting to show wear. My room, second (EU)/third (US) up from street level, faced the square. The square is highly popular with university students at night and then an open market each morning. Being earplugs.

Fit and finish overall show wear. The rooms operate with a smart card, allowing entrance from outside and turning on power to room from a slot just inside the door. Water heater for shower in bathroom; short showers for two people or a slightly longer one a sole guest. Separate combo code to enter the main door from the piazza.

Breakfast from one of two bars downstairs - cappuccino and a croissant is the negotiated deal. Don't expect a buffet.

If you get a good price on this room and you have good earplugs, this is a good choice.

Great location - central Padova (15 min walk from the station), room is clean and service is good. It's a no-frills place although all the basic requirements are met. Even though the reception is not 24 hours, there were no problems checking-in or out. They ensure someone is around when you arrive at the hotel. Breakfast vouchers are given for neighbouring coffee shops (Juice, coffee and pastry.) Since the hotel is located on the square, it could be noisy at night but if you close the shudders, there isn't a problem. I would definitely come back here.

Excellent small hotel in centre of Padova , close to all the major sites of interest. Very welcoming and helpful proprietor . Fifth floor room with a wonderful view over the piazza was very clean and comfortable, but unfortunately there wasn't a lift. Breakfast of fresh fruit juice, croissants and coffee available in next door cafe. Free wifi and car parking available ( extra charge). I would definitely recommend this hotel.

An easy trek from the Padua train station.

A very nice room, however on a hot day in July, the air conditioner was not adequate to do the job. Even though we had a remote control, it appeared to be preset and left us uncomfortable. The receptionist helped bring the bags up the stairs and gave a map of the city and directions which were appreciated. There is not 24hr. reception. Breakfast voucher at a cafe with fresh squeezed OJ!

Windows on the piazza

Great location and rooms on the front overlook the Piazza Dei Signori and its vibrant street life. The view comes at the price of noise from cafés into the early morning. I loved it but everyone won't. Only major complaint was the shortage of hot water in the morning.

Excellent location and clean! No lift though...

This hotel is situated right in the center of Padova old town so location was excellent. Noise was a minimum as well. Reception is not 24 hour so you must contact the concierge before hand which is a bit of a bother but not unexpected in Italy. The rooms were spacious and clean, however I had the 4th floor room and there is no lift, so beware! At least 2 flights of stairs to climb for any of the rooms.

The service was very good with the manager helping with bags and also with my problem of a lost charger. The breakfast is a voucher for a cafe next door, which is not substantial and gets you a coffee and pastry.

Overall the hotel is a good stay, Wifi was good so I could get work done, and location and cleanliness excellent.

Friendly small hotel in perfect location

This small hotel is right in the historic center of Padova. We arrived late without prior notice - check in time is normally before 5 PM - but just called the number on the front door and got all information needed to entry and access our room from the friendly and helpful owner. Clean room, functional wireless internet, and a breakfast coffee in a neighboring cafe on the piazza. We saw the beautiful historic botanical garden and became late for the 11 AM check-out - again no problem after a call to the owner. Very good value for money. We would definitely chose this hotel again.

Strange place, but nice owner

Diamantino has only 7 rooms, no lobby or reception, and a door that opens onto one of the central piazzas of Padua. Great location and nice room, but very hard to get in initially. Plus, our room was on the 4th floor and there's no elevator. The \"included breakfast\" in reality meant a chit for coffee, oj and a pastry at a cafe next door to the Diamantino. The \"hotel\" belongs to the owner of the adjacent jewelry store. He's nice, but the whole system is weird, and initial access was very confusing.

Super Lage. Sauberkeit gut. Fön durchgebrannt. Lampen defekt. Balkon versprochen nicht bekommen. Kein personal im Haus. Parkplatzsuche ohne Hilfe 1Stunde . Frühstück unverschämt nur im Zimmer mit sehr wenig abgepackten alten Zeug. Mussten in der Stadt nochmal frühstücken!!!! Alle Gästedokumente liegen offen an der Rezeption die ganze Nacht.

Hotel senza reception e colazione pessima

Hotel rinnovato all'interno, pulito. Purtroppo non c'è reception, nessun ad accoglierti, i bagagli rimangono incustoditi all'ingresso. Colazione con un voucher nel bar a fianco, senza tavolini per sedersi, solo croissant, caffè o cappuccino e succo: non disponibili, nemmeno pagando, yogurth e frutta, pane e burro e marmellata! Inoltre per entrare una rampa di scale e altrettante scale per raggiungere le camere, senza ascensore, nè personale che possa aiutare.
Ottima la posizione in pieno centro.

Centrale e molto gradevole\n

Dalla finestra vista diretta sull'orologio astronomico. Al mattino ho sentito suonare le ore. Ho fatto la Padova card 48 ore e ho visto sia musei e Scrovegni sia la mostra su Galileo. Tutto ha funzionato benissimo: visite, albergo, accoglienza e disponibilità degli operatori e anche il viaggio in treno.

Bra men svårt att hitta

Stannade bara för en natt. Men ett riktigt centralt hotell. Enkel frukost på närliggande café. Helt ok för kortare vistelse. Enda nackdelen, det var svårt att hitta. Ingen tydlig hotellentré, endast en dörr i väggen, mellan två caféer.
