This place hits the sweet spot between maintaining original Victorian character and providing 21st century comfort and convenience. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished with a clean, updated bathroom. Jenn was a delightful hostess, and the breakfast provided by Lisa was delicious and served in a lovely setting. This has to be one of the nicest, if not THE nicest B&B we've ever stayed in.
It's also just up the (steep) hill from the center of Digby with its shops, restaurants, and marina.
I'd say it's worth a trip to Digby just to enjoy this spot.

A perfect stay

Amazing hospitality! Every detail of the room was thoughtful and comfortable. Bedding, towels, temperature, every detail was perfect. The breakfasts were delicious and so much variety was provided. Breakfast is out of this world.
I have travelled and stayed in hotels, B@Bs in Europe Canada USA and Mexico, none of them beats Hilltop B@B in Digby.
Will be back next time I venture this way. Thanks .

We cannot say enough good things about this B&B, the house has been beautifully restored, the decor is lovely, the rooms are outstandingly comfortable and modern, the ensuite bathroom was great, the hosts were so gracious and friendly, we learned a lot about Digby and the history of the home the b&b is located in. They provided great recommendations on things to see and do based on our interests which we could never have found in a tourist guide. There is a beautiful verandah with seating off the dining room with a spectacular view of the Digby waterfront and harbour. The breakfast was gourmet quality and perfectly prepared. Our hosts helped us secure a dinner reservation at the Crow’s Nest seafood restaurant, which helped us avoid a line up to get a table.

We wished we had booked a few nights instead of just one, the Hillside B&B is a destination unto itself.

Henry and Linda are fabulous hosts and their home is both welcoming and charming with all the comforts of home. They are very knowledgeable of the area, places to eat and local attractions. Henry is a wonderful chef and our breakfasts would be something found on a menu of fine dining! Where would you get eggs Benny topped with scallops!? We were spoiled! We will highly recommend this place!

We are easy going when traveling and try to see the best. However, upon arrival...when my husband was sorting parking and the bags...I felt that I was harangued. Upon entering I was told by the owner that i was lucky to get our room for such a low price as it is usually double what we paid. He then stated that we are costing him money because we booked through expedia andhe has to pay for that. The conversation rambled on from there saying that expedia keeps booking his rooms for a low price. I felt very uncomfortable at this point as i was being confronted by a larger man...6ft plus and me 5ft nothing while my husband was outside sorting out our vehicle. I wanted to leave. When my husband came in with the owner who said it was his job and scurried out to help with the luggage, after i was scolded because i didn't remove my shoes (which i have no problem doing!) the owner was acted like he was the most pleasant person.
It was a very uncomfortable experience.

Everything was great except for our unit. Loved the main house and surroundings. Very beautiful and relaxing. We felt the unit we stayed in to be dark and gloomy. It didn’t feel clean because of atmosphere and decor. Bathroom sink was so small and no place to set stuff. All space taken up with old jacuzzi.

We found this property on expedia, it was my first visit to NS and Digby. Oh boy did we hit the jackpot booking here,Linda & Henry were wonderful hosts,we couldnt possibly have been made to feel more welcome and special. We were treated to home baked fig squares and fresh cream on the evening and a wonderful breakfast complete with smoothies and omelets with our choice of toppings including Digby Oysters. Linda was wonderful calling about whale watching reservations and Henry telling us about the area and local dining recommendations. They spoiled us so much we want to go back and stay again and again! Cant say enough about staying here, after-all its the owners who make the B&B experience and they were amazing hosts!

This is a beautiful B&B with the most friendly and accommodating owners! From the homemade oatcakes at checkin, the comfortable veranda overlooking the harbour, Henry’s informative chats about the local area and recommendation for a dinner restaurant, the fabulously appointed room with all of the comforts and then the unbelievably decadent breakfast, you won’t find a better place to stay. I only wish we had longer to stay in Digby. But we’re already trying to figure out when we can come back! I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves!

BEAUTIFUL and very CHARMING!! Everything was thought of from the original wood floors to the throw pillows and the book of Maud Lewis in the common area.
The hosts were amazing! The breakfast was beyond anything we have had so far during our entire trip! This was our first B&B experience and will definitely not be the last thanks to Henry and Linda.
Perfect porch to have a cup of coffee, sit and read while looking at the ocean and harbour. They even had binoculars. No detail was spared! I can’t recommend this place enough!

The easiest thing to say is WOW! This stunning property offered a very comfortable stay, outstanding views of the Harbour and town and the hospitality of some of the most generous hosts we have had. The large room was filled with all the comforts you would want, the town and restaurant options were steps away and the hosts provided helpful tips, information and of course, a 5-star breakfast in the morning! Could not recommend this place more. Highly recommend and you will not be disappointed!!!

The view of the Digby Harbour was amazing. The room was large, the bed very comfortable with modern spa like bathroom facilities. Can’t say enough about the hostess Linda, her directions and knowledge of the area was invaluable to my visit. The cookies were yummy and the Scallop Eggs Benedict was picture worthy and a taste treat for all who love Eggs Benedict. Highly recommend to everyone if you are staying in the Digby area.

Linda and Henry were superhosts. Henry was nice to carry our luggage. The room was clean, the view from the room was awesome. The toilet and bath was clean, the shower (massage showers) was fancy, never seen anything like it. The breakfast was greatly prepared, delicious egg scallops benedict. Linda also baked cinnamon buns which taste like heaven. Definitely will go back and recommend to friends.

An outstanding amazing B & B in the heart of picturesque Digby. You can smell the clean fresh salt air from the deck and all while enjoying an awesome view of Digby Harbour. Postcard perfect!
You will be greeted by owners, Linda & Henry, who tend to your every need. Food is excellent. Rooms are beautifully decorated with lovely linens.
