We are a group of 4 moms who stayed here for one night on a 3-day tour. We arrived after a long day of hiking and site seeing and we pulled up to a beautifully well-kept and modern hotel. We were quite hungry when we arrived and the front desk promptly check us in and called the on-site restaurant to find a time for dinner that worked for us. I would recommend booking a reservation in advance to ensure you’re not stuck since there isn’t really much around there.

The rooms were perfect; clean, modern and very comfortable with two single beds that we could easily separate. The blinds were black-out which is super important in the summer months in Iceland.

Dinner at the on-site restaurant was absolutely delicious and such a lovely atmosphere.

After dinner we went down to the hot tub area and enjoyed a sauna and hot tub. It was just what we needed after a long day.

The next morning we enjoyed the buffet breakfast (paid in advance through Expedia) and it was impressive with a large selection of foods, drinks, coffees etc. it was the perfect way to start another long day of exploring! Well worth the money.

Highly recommend Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon and would absolutely stay again!

Fantastic property! Modern, yet sustainable and fitting the environment. The room and bathroom were spacious, bed incredibly comfortable. The restaurant on site was delicious and the staff incredibly attentive. Excellent spa amenities too. The included breakfast and Hotels VIP perk were appreciated.

Only gripe I have is that the hotel is called Glacier Lagoon, yet it is a :30 drive away from the glacier lagoon. The setting is not at all indicative of the stunning lagoon.

This was a very nice place to stay while seeing the glacier lagoon, diamond beach, and doing a glacier hike. It has a fancy hotel feel, and the bar area in the lobby was a great place to relax after a day of activity. The room was clean, and we appreciated the slippers that they provided.

Beautiful hotel, and really delicious food! We had an amazing dinner onsite, breakfast morning included a good spread of options. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Just note- if you’re someone looking for snacks along the way on a self drive, the closest gas station / snack station is about 25-30 minutes away. There is nothing close to the hotel. So get your gas and bring some snacks before you get there. Otherwise, your food option is at the hotel and food there is pricey.

This was by far my favorite hotel in Iceland. They have an amazing spa with outdoor hot tubs and saunas that look out to the ocean. The staff was amazing. The restaurant was amazing 13 out of 10 no notes on this hotel. I stayed in seven hotels in Iceland, and this was by far my favorite.

If I event make it back to Iceland, we will ONLY stay at the Foss Hotels. This was magnificent! The sauna and hot tubs were so clean and nice, the restaurant is 5 star and was our splurge for the trip, worth every penny. The entire hotel is absolutely beautiful. The beds were the most comfortable and we stayed at 7 hotels over our 10 day stay. This is the only place we felt comfortable to shower without sandals. The cost is more than reasonable considering we paid the same everywhere else and questioned everything we touched.
The waterfall out back is worth the little hike through the gate, it was so beautiful. We saw rainbows at dinner and it feels like a little piece of heaven hidden in Iceland. I would love to see the other Foss Hotels and will be recommending this to everyone who travels there.

We had an excellent one night stay at this location near Diamond Beach. The hotel was clean, comfortable, modern and the staff were excellent from the front desk staff to the wait staff. Only regret is that we had just one night.

Wonderful stay in a stunning location. The hotel is modern, clean, and beautifully designed, with comfortable rooms and amazing views of Icelandic nature. Unfortunately our room was facing to the parking lot and at ground level so we couldn’t enjoy the views this time (it was our second time staying there). The staff were very kind, friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. We had our anniversary dinner at the restaurant and our host offered us the best table and bubbly wine. Servers were very knowledgeable and kind. Food was delicious. The location is perfect for visiting Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. After a long day of exploring, the peaceful atmosphere and relaxing hot tubs made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone traveling along the South Coast of Iceland.

Nicely appointed room (great high ceilings) and bathroom. Careful when showering as water gets sprayed everywhere as it is essentially a wet room. We were on the mountain and parking lot side. Unless you are going to be in your room a lot I am not sure the up charge for the ocean view is worth it. Would stay here again.

Enjoyed the hot tub but not the long trek down to it and the sauna. They provide bathrobes but still felt weird trooping through the lobby and bar in a wet bathing suit and shoes. There is nothing around the hotel other than a nice cafe south of the hotel but it closes at 5pm. Restaurant was very expensive and fortunately we had eaten at the cafe prior to check in. Hot tub was nice after a long day. Sauna was full so didn’t use it. For the size of the property maybe they need to expand that. Oh and the name is a little deceiving as the Glacier Lagoon is still a 30 minute drive away. Highly recommend the puffin tour with Einar.

Gorgeous location, friendly and helpful staff, and we loved the outdoor hot tubs! The spa downstairs is lovely, and the breakfast was also very good. The one downside was in the bathroom it was an open shower with no lip or raised area, so the whole floor got wet. As downsides go it was minor. This is a great location for reaching Diamond Beach/Jökulsárlón.

Due to a last minute booking frenzy which was totally our fault, we had to book the executive suite for our family of 4. This last minute booking turned out to be the best stay of our trip. Private hot tub on the balcony with amazing views, plus a brilliant room overall. Wished we could have stayed another night!

Our stay at Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon was unforgettable.

Check-in was seamless and handled with genuine care—excellent customer service from the start. Ordering food to-go was quick and easy, and the options were delicious and beautifully presented.

The sauna and gym were clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

Dinner was a highlight—especially the roasted vegetables and Icelandic lamb. Great service and a wonderful selection of drinks made the evening even better.

We also spent time enjoying drinks while waiting for the aurora borealis, and the staff was incredibly accommodating throughout.

And then—the grand finale—the northern lights appeared - subtle, but beautiful. After a storm and with another one approaching, it felt like such a gift.

This hotel is truly the perfect place to experience Iceland’s magic.

We stayed 6 nites...more than the average visitor. We received the Aurora alert on the 2 nights it was visible. Staff was exceptional Front desk, Wait staff, bar tender and housekeeping. Restaurant was the only restaurant inside of 2 hours but we enjoyed the selections. Fresh, great taste and good variety. Our room faced the ocean and we could watch the storms come and go. Best location for the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. (30 min. away). Large parking lot- they service bus groups year round. Foss Hotel chain has a great group of properties around the island. Recommend and would stay again.

Without a doubt the best hotel we stayed at during our trip in Iceland.

Great location, spotless room and on top of it all they have the greatest staff! Everyone was super attentive but I wanted to give a special thanks to Razvan who served us for the two nights we were there and ate at the restaurant! He was an excellent host, super attentive to details and made our dinners feel like if we were in an upscale restaurant.

We booked a basic ground room with no view but room was nice and clean with a modern style bathroom and shower. Breakfast buffet had a great selection of food and drinks. We enjoyed using the hot tub the multiple nights we were there and one of the nights we were lucky to see the northern lights as well. Only negative thing I could say about the hotel is the price, otherwise a great stay.
