Check in is not until 3pm and the property could not allow us to check in earlier. We had arrived on the early morning flight so got to the island for 9.30am.
After a long flight we were tired and could not shower etc so spent the majority of the day on the beach which was not ideal with a child. I would offer feedback to the island in terms of moving their check in time to earlier and having some flexibility.

It's late March 2025 and we have just returned from 8 nights on Banana Island (a couple aged 55 and 62), and enjoyed it immensely.

We knew beforehand that it was during the month of Ramadan so not all facilities would be open - some of the restaurant options on the island were closed and most you needed to eat inside. On mainland the shops in the malls were all closed during the days but you could wander through them. This had the advantages of it being a bit quieter and we got 2 nights free!

The temperature (mid to high 20s) was perfect for us and the pool/sea were warm enough to swim in - although there were signs about jellyfish being possible in the sea so stuck mainly to the pools.

It was a bit blowy a couple of days but didn't present too much of an issue for us - fortunately the catamarans were still running so we took the opportunity to explore the mainland - taking the earlier staff boats.

The range of activities on Banana Island was phenomenal .. not many being used at this time but great to have them there. We can't comment on how noisy it would be in full season but if that but if that bothers you (which it would us) go for the deluxe, rather than premier, accommodation as a minimum on the ocean side of the island.

The staff really made it for us - so genuinely friendly and helpful - thank you to them all!!!

Resort is amazing, can’t fault the island and what it offers…..two big issues however. We stayed in a 2bedroom villa with private pool…the pool was a disgrace, loose tiles lying on bottom of pool, tiles coming off all around the pool, in certain places I could put my fingers deep inside where the grout should have been and the pool was caked in mould and dirt. Considering this is a £1000+ per night resort it’s embarrassing how bad the pool was presented to us….i would go as far to say that it was dangerous for our kids. The decking around the pool was also in a shocking condition, we had to get them to screw down decking as my kids had tripped and cut their feet on it ! The staff were quick to try and resolve the issues but the problem is….it should never have been presented in that state in the first place !!! Staff in the Indian restaurant were also rude and we had terrible service on both occasions we were there….at one point we had starters, mains and desert plates on the table because they couldn’t be bothered to clear the table !!! Majority of staff were great and they couldn’t do enough for us but breakfast is another issue….everytime we went there were no tables clean and at one point I counted 7 tables that needed cleaned so either there isn’t enough tables or not enough staff. We stayed in villa 5018 so please whoever stays here next check the pool and you will see what I mean…..we enjoyed our 8 day stay but the above issues really took the shine of it for us

We reached the hotel at 09.30am,checking was 3pm.
Maria at the desk was very helpful and sorted our room within 15mins.
She took us personally to our room.
Ronald was our host excellent service constant messaging asking if everything is ok.
Buggy drivers come round literally every 5/10mins offering a ride.
Very relaxing holiday.
The staff at the beach constantly greeting us ans asking if we need anything.
Qlounge was very nice.
Tne indian restaurant food menu was amazing,food was very well presented and very tasty.
America. Burger place agian excellent.
Breakfast area was amazing, tbe staff were exceptional.
So friendly,very courteous, breakfast was buffet but the variety of food and drinks they offered was exceptional.

It was a great place to Stay, the service was second to none. The rooms were cleaned twice a day. Staff were amazing. The children loved the Kids club, which had soft play, cinema, Pool table, and many activities for all.

The Spa was one of the best i have used, Oud Siganature Massage was wow!

The restaurants on the island were ok 4-5/10. I did however, enjoy Al Nahham and Q lounge food. The downside is, if you have half or full board, you still have to pay for certain items on the menu with a discounted price and those items were the good items in my opinion.

The swimming pool isn't big and nor is the kids pool area. The kids pool area is very small, 10-15 kids and it will be full.

Overall i enjoyed the stay, the staff were amazing on the island from Yuni, Sachin the buggy drivers were all very freindly and caring.

Exceeded my expectations, the staff make the experience truly special. They were what made this trip so enjoyable and all members couldn’t do enough for you.
The food at the property was very good, we tried a few things but not the Italian restaurant and everything we had we enjoyed. Resorts can be very hit and miss when it comes to food but this was good for a resort.
Once the new adventure park is opened, the kids will enjoy this once even more.
Special mention to Kay at the Indian restaurant, she took her time to explain things through and dealt with dietary requirements in her stride!
Will definitely be looking to come back here.

It was like being in a slice of paradise. The views are beautiful and the sunset from the pool was amazing, almost like being in one of the holiday ads.
A variety of food options however a little pricey and I was disappointed when not all the food on the menu was part of half board and an extra needed to paid but there still was a lot to choose from. Food was delicious.
The staff are always happy to help in anyway and are really the pride of this island.
I can not wait to return again!

The Banana Island Resort has ALL THE POTENTIAL to be a Paradise Island in these parts of the world. Staff service is A1, and always attentive to the guests needs. There is however lots of Areas for Improvement, e.g., Needs many more dining options, Alcohol consumption should be allowed, Construction and Maintenance activities should be better managed when guests, etc.

The room they gave us was not good, it has water dripping from the ceiling right inside of the bathroom door. Also the hanger inside the cupboard was falling down I couldn’t hang my clothes, and when I told the reception they didn’t do anything! Also I asked for late checkout upon arrival even if it was chargeable but they didn’t give us an answer until it was too late and they don’t know what to just they keep saying wait for us we will get back to you soon but they dudn’t!

I had a birthday occasion they brought a wrong cake! Overall experience is very bad and disappointing! I went to resorts around the world, but this one definitely managed by bad management and worse staff!

Outdated empty old property . Absolutely worst choice for staying in Qatar. Only few shuttle boats to mainland. So you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere in empty place with terrible beach, and yellow water park. Great resort but cleanliness requires attention

Our room smelt of cigarettes, especially in the toilet. There was a lot of dust in our room and I believe a deep clean of all rooms is required.

The Italian Riva restaurant was amazing, the food and service was exceptional. However, the Nahham Arabic restaurant require a lot more outdoor heaters, but the food and service is good.

The room was really amazing....if it was not for the fact the AC broke a few hours after checking in, and poured water down from the ceiling. Then it took the maintenance personal about an hour to come to the room and even look at it. We had to ask the manager to check us into another room. After that it was great, until there was a cable issue. Then the second room we where checked into was at the very end of the hotel with zero reception for the WiFi. So to make calls back to and receive calls from our families, we had to go out on the front balcony and walk down some. I called and notified the manger of everything and hope this will never happen again. I would expect something small in compensation, but we got nothing. All this for a resort we paid over $500 USD for one night is unacceptable!!

Amazing island, friendly staff and lots to do. Downside, accessible only by boat which takes approx 25 minutes. If you are travelling around Doha city add another 30 minutes for travel meaning it will take atleast 1 hour to arrive back to your room. If you dont get stuck in traffic and miss your boat that is. Oh and a plus note they provide unlimited free laundry for children under 2 years

Best hotel/spa resort to date!

My husband and I chose this hotel based on their recent award for best spa hotel in Qatar. We stayed here for one week to celebrate both our birthdays and the entire team went over and beyond to make our birthdays memorable. We selected a premier sea view room which was beautiful and very spacious. Breakfast was amazing and the hotel were able to meet our vegetarian/vegan dietary requirements in every way. Only one problem when getting to the reception area and out Aswell there is no one to open the door, and the doors are not automatic so when you have loads of baggage and a baby to carry it is very hard to get through the heavy doors.
Other then that the holiday was pretty much how I want it to be.

The location and views are amazing. Staff are exceptional and very attentitive.
The only downside is not much to do after 9pm and Sundays two of the restaurants are closed.
However, the resort does offer a free boat service every hour, 24 hours a day to go mainland which takes 30 minute.
Great place to relax for a short break.

Amazing hotel, the staff was attentive and accommodating, they adjust according to your needs, from the time you enter the boat till you reach the island. We arrived a day late, and after much liaising with the travel agents, our stay could be extended for another day.

The only draw back, the shower in the bathroom floods, the person that had a look at it said, that it is a flaw in the engineering, and most of the rooms have that problem, when the shower was being, built they didn't create a slope for the water to drain into the drainage, so that was not cool.

This was my first resort experience in the GCC, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have been to several all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. This resort was perfect for a calm, relaxing weekend. The view from our room was beautiful (get a 2nd floor room if you can). The balcony was nice to sit on and watch the water. The staff were all very professional. It was very pleasing to be greeted by name. I was always pleasantly surprised to hear my name coming from an unfamiliar face. It is obvious that they do their homework there. The overall place is very organized and polished. We loved our time there. It was my partner's birthday and the staff brought out a small cake and sang to him. The Thursday night Beach BBQ at Q lounge is so romantic by the beach.

The hotel more than lived up to our expectations. All the staff were so helpful and kind, especially Anson who looked after our rooms. He made fantastic animals out of the towels and our little Louis couldn't wait to get back to the room every day to see what the animal of the day was. Also Vinayak, the Assistant Manager went out of his way to help us - we felt completely looked after. What a choice for sunbathing! The children's pool was amazing and then there was the beach and little lagoons with sandy bottoms. Will definitely go back.

The staff is really rude they completely disrespected me and my friends and they refused to let one of my friends come to the island which embarrassed me alot . The bathroom has no privacy at all it had a gigantic glass which was completely visible to the entire bathroom which really annoyed me and the shower has no hot water so you'll have to get use to the cold water . Food drinks and activities are extremely expensive you are very likely to go over budget. I don't advise anyone to visit this place it is a complete waste of money.

Not what I was expecting from a 5stars hotel

The boat rides to and from the Island were inconvenient. Each ride is 30 mins and the boats leave on the hour so we spent so much time waiting. The bathroom flooded the first night cz the pipes weren't cleaned regularly. The food prices in the Resturant are waaaaay to expensive for the quality and quantity of food. No music was heard throughout the island. We rented bicycles but returned them 5 minutes later cz they were really poor quality and taken care of. The golf carts to move us around took forever to arrive and sometimes never arrive. Overall it was a horrible experience.

Highly recommended 4 families & romantic getaways!

The resort is located on an Island, and a ferry (located on Al-Shoyoukh Terminal) takes you there. The rooms are spacious. There are a variety of restaurants on the Island, a cinema, a bowling arena and some water activities. The prices on the Island are bit high... but you have no other choice. The resort is suitable for romantic getaways and families too! But, I don't think anyone would like to stay there for more than two days, unless you want to leave the Island, visit Doha and then come back...

Nice hotel located in privet Island

The hotel is very strict about number of kids allowed , there are a lot of activities in the hotel, I am planning to come again and again
