Overall, a good stay

The hotel is quite a long distance from Bangkok, but for a couple of nights it is worth a visit (and the 2-3 hour drive across from Bangkok). The setting on the river is beautiful. We have one of the rooms with the kayaks, and these are easily accessible/ readily available.

The only drawbacks were that there really is nothing to do in the local area, and to get into the town centre the only option is to use the hotel's taxi service (no other local services or Grab options available). There wasn't much privacy for sunbathing at the top of the room we had, but this was no trouble really.

All day breakfast, with bubbles available with this too, was a good touch of flexibility (with food options being tasty)

good value for the price. Clean, comfortable and very conveniently located for the BTS and other local activities (street food, massages, night markets etc.). Transport to and from the airport is handy too, via public transport. Hotel gives two free bottles of water per day as well.

Well worth a visit!

A lovely hotel, with modern rooms and a wonderful setting. The rooms are really nice - very well put together. The spa was also excellent, if a bit more expensive than other places in Thailand. All the staff were exceptional - incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was a bit confused so dishes are a bit hit and miss, but overall no issue. We would definitely come back.

Excellent hotel for a quiet retreat. Only inconvenient is that it is far from Kanchanaburi and surprisingly there is no tuk tuk waiting at the hotel to take you around 😃 so either you need your car or request a taxi from the reception. A special thanks to the lady at the reception who organised a driver to the Erawan Falls and the caves. And a special thank to the manager (I am assuming she is) of the bar/restaurant and \"Nice\" the lovely waitress who served is breakfast every mornings.

Great stay with quality staff, great food and excellent rooms / environment. Only issue was a power cut (lasted about 3 hours) due to a storm but what was surprising is the hotel does not have its own generator, lucky the power lines got fixed but could have been a night of torture given the extreme hot weather.

X2 River Kwai Resort has a beautiful scenery, river view, and nice garden. My XFloat Luxe Cabin is large and having modern design and good zoning of bed zone, restroom (with separated shower room, toilet, bathtub), dressing room, balcony by the river with private Kayak, and rooftop. The structure of this floating cabin is quite strong making the cabin not so shaking by the river wave which is good. The overall of this property could be considered impressive and worth paying.

Expensive getaway to rest and relax

Instagrammable resort where you can take many photos to post and make your friends envy. Overall a comfortable stay as the staff are friendly and very helpful. Do expect to pay a premium for chargeable services e.g. Getting taxi. It would be perfect if the resort took better care of the outdoor furniture. The outdoor beds and nets look like a really nice place to rest, but when you go near, there's soil and spider webs on them.

I had thought about staying at X2 River Kwai Resort many times already. The hotel is very stylish and well designed. The room is spacious and has all the 4 stars hotels should have ie. DVD player, good quality Bluetooth speaker, king size bed, etc. And the location of the hotel is exceptionally great for the view of the Kwai River. In short, I’d definitely come back here again in the future. However, be sure to check that it’s not the time that the farmers burn their sugarcane corps which make the quality of the air so poor and dangerous. Try to book the hotel in the rainy season or around the month of January.

Some staff was not nice. The cocktail menu didn’t specific what liquor they use. Asked and they spend time explaining. It wasn’t excite me that much so I didn’t order. They end up smirking, like, “why would I waste time”. It actually give you the feel of “look down” on you.

Cosy, Comfort, Great Staycation with X2 Resort

It was one of the best holiday stay we had thus far. Right from check-in to check-out, our stay was filled with excellent service, exciting view of the river and of course great food!
I must say, everything were perfectly fine, except for one thing, minimal transport connectivity to the town. The resort is 9km away from main town, so if you want to explore town area, then this will be the down side. Anyway, you can hire private cab, but expect high charges.
Overall, it is a perfect stay! My girlfriend and I enjoyed very much

Very enjoyable stay at Cross 2 and I’d certainly recommend and revisit, really like what the brand are looking to do.

Excellent location, very peaceful and only a 15/20 minute taxi into Kanchanaburi.

We took one of the private kayak rooms floating on the river, excellent room. Spacious, clean, plenty of amenities and the bonus of being able to kayak off for a bit.

Lots of little extras...a bottle of wine, meal discount etc were thrown in which was a great touch.

Staff were great and very relaxed, especially Prai in the restaurant.

Food was really good. Excellent choice for breakfast and dinner.

There are a few things that could be even better
More cost hangers, make the WiFi password free as kept on having to reinput the code, offer shuttle transfers to Kanchanaburi, more swimming pool management - had to ask for towels twice.

Memorable time at X2 River Kwai

We spent 4 days at X2 River Kwai Resort, and we had such a memorable time there! The rooms are equipped with lots of great facilities, such as Bose Bluetooth speakers, pay TV, great coffee machine, just to name a few.

The sunrise and sunset views of River Kwai were absolutely stunning! Despite this being a holiday and we wanted to sleep in, we couldn’t resist waking up everyday at 6 to view the sunrise.

Bridge bar and bistro offers a wide range of menu and their food is so delicious that we were happy to eat all our meals there!

Thanks again to all the staff at X2 River Kwai resort for making my birthday so special! Their friendly staff service has made this a very memorable experience for us and no doubt we will visit again with family and friends.

Room was well designed and comfortable. View of the river was fantastic and inhouse restaurant served delicious mains. Probably due to the rooms being next to the river, there were quite a few bugs that got into our room. Apart from that, everything was beyond expectations and will definitely book a room here again.

Nice room and amenities but too far from anywhere.

Room was very neat and nice. Unfortunately, the water heater was broken and I waited for staff to come and fixed too long, and after one shower, it was a brick again. It really nice if you plan to only stay and spend time with facilities in the hotel, because the hotel is located 20 mins away from every where such as attractive restaurants.

Overall hotel is very good. We stayed at deluxe cabin for 2 nights. Food at restaurant is delicious i’d recommend the risotto, we had 2 dinners at that place.
One more thing, if you choose to stay at the cabin. Yes, it’s privacy more than poolside room but please beware some tourist jet skiing very fast from nearby the hotel.

Location: quite far from city center. Nearest 7-11 is about 10 km away but there was some local shop still open at 9 PM, lucky me!!
Restaurant Bridge bar served tasty food, reasonable price.
Room quite big , good view, good facilities

Very peaceful place. The resort is right by the river so the view is beautiful. Swimming in the river is not allow but they have a salt system swimming pool if you want to. Other than that, they have kayak for rent (free for x float luxe cabin) and it's very fun. The room is nice and clean. The bathroom is also clean but I suggest a ventilator for better air flow. The last thing is complementary coffee in the room was so impressive.

A great experience all round!

X2 - We stayed at this unique, and stunning, venue for three nights around Chinese New Year.

By far the greatest feature of this resort is it's stunning location. The hotel is built on a quiet, peaceful stretch of the river Kwai. The view of the river was fabulous.

The second good feature of the hotel is definitely it's design. The hotel has a sleek, contemporary, urban feel to it. A large amount of space has also been incorporated into the layout. This offers guests the chance to fully relax.

The third, and final, great feature of this resort was the great service that we were provided with. We were incredibly well looked after by all of the staff. The resort also arranged for transport to town for us twice. On both occasions we were provided with the resorts people carrier. The hotel also provided us with a great recommendation for a Thai restaurant.

We stayed 3nights in Jan. with my family including children (10 years old). They enjoyed swimming at pool and comfort room. The staff are so friendly and kind to set up our daily travel plan. We could book the dinner restaurant through the front desk and they picked us up at the town to the hotel.
The view from the room balcony is just so beautiful and the kids are so excited for seeing the stars.
The breakfast is also delicious and we enjoyed to choose from the menu.

Fantastic funky hotel that is perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the main town of Kanchanaburi. The staff were fantastic and couldn't help you enough to chose food or organise a driver to take you around all the sites in the surrounding area.

Quiet location away from tourist district

The hotel was kind to provide a free pickup from a nearby train station (Wang Yen) at my request. Breakfast is good, if you book the room with breakfast included, it comes with free flow champagne to get you in the mood to relax the rest of the day by the infinity pool. The rooms are great for couples, if you are travelling with your partner. Open concept rooms, so you got to be not shy to keep those curtains open all day for the sunlight to enter. There's a huge bathtub in the bath area if you take the Cabins. Also comes with awesome sound system for you to stream your own music via Bluetooth to the speakers. Service here is impeccable and staff are all out to please you. Their know normal Thai English, so for native English speakers, do take note to go simple and slow.

Unique and great - Downside transport though.

Scenic located hotel. Great and very attentive staff. Big balconies and/or terracces overlooking the river. Free kayaks and SUP boards. Great breakfast.
Downside is location. Even though we knew that it was outside Kanchanaburi we were surprised that every “taxi” ride to and from hotel was 400 baht one way or 700 return.
Sometimes paid on the room and other times to driver. That price seems too expensive compared to other places in Thailand.
Better solution to this and better information about who to pay for the ride when booked through hotel would be nice.
Besides that hotel page said free pick up at arrival, but we were charged 400 baht for this also. At the price this hotel has pr night and given their location, pick up and drop off should at least be complimentary.
Other than that we were satisfied and the hotel is unique both in design and location.

The hotell is quite far from any public transport. You have to have private transportation. The design and enviromemt are worth to pay a visit. Dinner is a little too expensive. Overall is excellent! We are a family of 4, took the Luxe Cabinn room, it was enough big, and with a very big balkony. But there was some insects in the room, We were fine with it, if you don’t like, it is an issue.
