Room very dated. Hard to get warm water (complained twice). Its more a conference centre and many facilities not available - swim up pool bar - closed ; sauna - closed; second pool - full of leaves, closed: bar - closed or isn’t one; business centre - there isn’t one despite it being advertised; Chinese restaurant - closed but open to conference attendees; tennis courts - covered in weeds. Give it was relatively expensive it was a disappointment. Staff on desk very good though

Beautiful gardens well maintained. Our rooms were large and very clean. Staff were okay but I did book the Riverview and nobody mentioned the 32 steps to get there as I have a damaged knee. I got up there once and realised I would end up in hospital trying to do it again although the staff told me how beautiful the room was. The young fellow did not mention about the steps as there is no elevators, my friend managed to get us a room on the bottom floor with a garden view but they did not refund the difference in costs which I think was pretty lousy. They could’ve offered us some meals or something as there was quite a lot of difference in in the cost of the rooms

Unique and beautiful location

Had a lovely few days here, the staff were wonderful.
There were very few guests while I was there, and for me that was heavenly.
The actual bridge over the river Kwai is directly accessible from the hotel, a short walk from the security hut. Really unique !
There's also a 7 eleven just outside the facility, so that's very good too.

All of the interior spaces, including my room, are/were immaculate, exactly what you should expect from an establishment calling itself a ‘Resort’.
The exterior is showing a little age/wear from the brutal Thai weather.
I didn’t eat at the resort so I can not comment on the food or food service.
It’s a beautiful location on a bend in the river just across the historically famous River Kwai bridge. The bridge is approximately a 10 minute walk.

Goof location next to the river kwai. Well kept property with clean rooms. No elevator to the upper (third) floors. Hot water is only luke warm. Definitely not warm enough for using the bath tub as some other reviewers also noted. Breakfast is ok with many varieties but food was not kept warm. Restaurant staff showed limited interest in serving customers even when there were fewer than 10 people during breakfast time.

Flies are a real problem here. I guess maybe just time of the year as I don’t see other comments but just intolerable. In hotel areas. Room is fine with doors shut and air con on.
Unfortunately, also hotel is deserted which means no atmosphere. They must be 100 rooms and it is deserted which is a great shame because the hotel and the staff are lovely

I booked here because the pictures show the bamboo restaurant on the river with perfect view of the bridge.. the restaurant has been closed since Covid I am now told..

About a 2km walk from reception to the bridge - this has to be done in daylight. The start of the bridge only has narrow plate to talk and no lights, a long way to fall. Which also means you need to get a taxi back from town which is easier said than done. Because your on the other side of the bridge about 15 min by road no one wanted to know, easier money to be made from the bars pickups.

Room was really nice, 3rd floor stairs were a little tedious once you were in and out a few times, but the service was spot on with the kart to pick you up and service for your luggage so getting around the resort was easy.
I would stay here again, IF I had a car or bike
Breakfast was great, will even do demonstrations for eggs or Thai coffee making.

Very frendly helpful service on check in. The rooms are large and spacious but only 2 coat hangers in the wardrobe is not good.
The grounds around the hotel are most impressive and well maintained.
Access to the swimming pool for people with any slight disability is an impossibility as there are no steps for children or the elderly.
Its the same inside the hotel with no lifts or elevator to safely access the upper and lower floors.
The Breakfast provided is good and provides a good start to the day but why do you place the cutlery in single use plastic bags? This is 2025, please stop this practice of single use plastics.
Overall the hotel is in a great location but has seen better days and is in need of a little TLC

Great hotel, just needs a little attention x

We have been coming to this hotel since 2015 and it’s still one of our favourites. In truth it is now in need of a little attention. The bathrooms desperately need updating preferably with walk in showers. My only real gripe is the lack of coat hangers. When on a 3 week holiday I require more than 2 coat hangers per person. That said, we still love this hotel, its location and its staff. They truly cannot do enough for you and the food is excellent. We’ll be back x

This is a really nice property and lovely swimming pool options. Always seemed like a lack of staff particularly around breakfast time. The grounds are nice and great frontage to the river. An easy 10 mins walk to Kwai bridge makes this ideal for getting to that area.

No pressure in the shower even after the maintenance said they fixed it.

Breakfast was sub-par and the buffet was full of flies.

The air conditioning in the room was not strong enough to keepthe room cool which made it difficult to sleep.

Lovely hotel and the room overlooking the river was beautiful. The pool area was also nice and you can ring and order drinks and they bring them to you. The only downfall is it’s about 20 minutes away from the city however we stopped here as it was a 10 minute walk to the bridge over the river Kwai. Staff were pleasant overall a nice stay!

The photos do not reflect reality. I came with my son who was 2 and a half and wanted to use the playground and have dinner over looking the bridge which is advertised int he pictures.This didn’t happen and I raised it with the hotel and they seemed either embarrassed as I don’t think I was the first to say this or didn’t want to engage in the conversation. Wouldn’t stay again but if you want one night and be able to walk round to the bridge super convenient.

Hopefully it will recover as tourists return. Food good. And a lovely place for couples nice pool and gardens. One of the things that swung it for me was the floating restaurant looking up to the rail bridge. It’s still there but not being used at the moment.

Verry quiet. 2 gorgeous swimming pools. Bedroom was big. Best shower I've had in Thailand in 6 weeks of traveling. Hot, powerful, endless HOT water.

Room was very clean. Choose a river view room; this is a 2 minute walk from the jetty with amazing views of the famous bridge.

Big and old hotel in Kachanaburi. Staff was OK. But the hotel is very old generation. Bathroom in bad condition. No plugs for charging telephone or computer. Air-con was noisy. No parking for motorbike. Poor quality breakfast and very busy. At lobby, they told me that they do not have room with big bed anymore, and told me that i have to go for breakfast at 6.30 am because they have a lot of people at hotel and it was the only slot available !!

My third stay at this resort and another great experience.

The pool was looking a little jaded two years ago but it has been renovated since then and is now looking great.

Staff couldn’t do enough for you and the buffet breakfast which was included on my room was excellent.

There is also now a complimentary boat shuttle across to the town which has been added since my last visit.

All in all a great experience and I shall stay here again when I return to Kanchanaburi.

This is quite a magnificent resort and well located, and the rooms are really big and well appointed. Staff are friendly and helpful (they're Thai, of course they are friendly and helpful).
Unfortunately, it's in desperate need of maintenance or upgrade. The water pressure was poor, accessories were broken or missing, the pergolas are rotting and need painting/replacement, tiles chipped, concrete cracked- just so many small things.
Having said that, we would definitely stay there again- it;s just so awesome!

Felix River Kwai has excellent customer service. Every staff member is always there to meet whatever needs you may have. The manager is always seen interacting with hotel guests. The hotel is nice and clean, well kept. The A/C is awesome, always nice to return to a nice cool room after a hot day. Breakfast is ok, plenty of variety to choose from. The bathtub is a very high step in and out of, water pressure is a hit and miss, but usually not bad. The water temperature is a constant struggle from scorching hot to freezing cold when showering. The toilet is a very weak flush, usually takes two flushes or more for a complete flush. The bed is comfortable and the surrounding is very quiet. Overall this is a great place to stay. My wife and I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Felix River Kwai. This is truly a hidden Gem.

A beautiful hotel located just five minutes walk to the famous bridge. Walk over the bridge and there are plenty of places to eat and shop. The adjoining rooms our family of four had were spacious, clean and had beautiful views of the river. The only downside is that it is a large, impersonal hotel catering more for business conventions.

The hotel was absolutely fine for our family trip. The hotel has large grounds and suitable facilities. It has a feeling of somewhere that could have been quite grand in its heyday. The food was fine but not worth a special trip out to if you are just looking to dine. The pool either needs a good service and scrub or needs to be completely retiled. The rooms were spacious and opened out to a seating area. The walks in the grounds were very pleasant.

Comfortable resort on the river kwai. Old large room but very well maintained. Lanai with Thai rocking chairs, tennis courts, 2 pools, etc. Friendly staff. Only negative was that Thai side cars for luggage/goods were used to transport my elderly father and our family to the room. Recommend that the resort buy at least 1 large extended club car (golf cart) to transport hotel guests througout the resort.

Very large hotel with huge landscaped,beautiful grounds boardering the River Kwai.
Close to the famous bridge but should be noted that this hotel is on the opposite side of the River to the town of Kanchanaburi. Whilst this is ok in the daytime (you can walk over the railway bridge) at night a taxi would be required to go out into the town (around £5 each way) because the railway bridge is too dangerous to walk over in the dark.
The hotel was pretty much deserted whilst we were there- I believe most of their business is made up of weddings and corporate events. This made the atmosphere a little soulless.
However, saying all that, the 4 nights that my husband and I stayed here were pretty idyllic. If you can stretch to it try for a river suite - the views are to die for!
Breakfast was fine, usual Thai hot dishes, salad,fruit, cereals etc
Didn’t try the restaurant - We much prefer to go to local places over the River ( but as mentioned before the Taxi there and back was a pain)
The drinks in the bar were so expensive so after 1 round we didn’t drink there again. However the mini bar drinks were pretty reasonable.
The lagoon pool was lovely but sauna and gym pretty non existent.
Pool towels were available free
We did enjoy our time here but there are hotels on the other side of the river that we would try next time as we did feel a little isolated from the town.

The pool was beautiful, clean and spacious. The extensive gardens were lovely with many sitting areas along the river. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone with omelette station, curries, etc. Situated beside an impressive temple and a short walk over the historic bridge to many choices of food and shopping. We loved this place and the friendly staff and are already planning a return visit. Peace and tranquility away from Bangkok.

Hotel is indeed a resort style with nice sized and appointed rooms plus spacious gardens. plenty of lounge areas in the main building. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Breakfast was ample with Asian dishes the main fare. The only gripe was the WiFi didn’t works for us. No matter how much we tried to log on it just wouldn’t. Internet access was gained in the main building. Overall a good place to stay

We wanted a place close to the River Kwai and you can't get much closer. The resort is beautiful and the staff could not do anymore to make our stay superb.
You can walk to the bridge from the resort. The rooms are well appointed and modern, the pools are great and the food at the buffet breakfast was plentiful.

A nice hotel on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi. The buildings are older but well maintained and decorated with dark wood. The grounds were nice to walk around but the pool looked like it needed a really thorough clean. I was able to have an early check in. My room had a problem and they upgraded me at no cost. The staff were extremely polite and helpful the entire stay of three days. The only concern which is NOT the hotel's fault is the music played by the disco rafts on the river. This was my second time at Felix and I would recommend it highly.

The resort is enormous, with beautifully manicured gardens, two pools and a nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast is great and staff are helpful and polite. However, we ate in the restaurant one night and ordered Western food. The pork chop I ordered was so tough the knife couldn't cut it. Maybe I should have known not to order Western food in Thailand. But this is a top quality resort, therefore if they cannot supply quality food, they should leave it off the menu.

Enjoyed our 6 night stay

Nice spacious room with lovely garden and swimming pool. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed the hotel and its close proximity to the famous bridge over the River Kwai. Access to outside restaurants is over the railway bridge itself, which is fine during the day but is not recommended at night. At night a taxi is required to take you into Kanchanaburi, the alternative is to pay European prices in the Hotel's restaurant.

Great place to stay and good value.

Room was large and comfortable, but rather dark, and lighting poor, ie, it would be hard to read a map spread out on the bed. Shower good but hot water took a long time to come.
The wi-fi is a bit dodgy in the rooms, better in reception but even there not perfect.
The room electrics are a bit quirky, if you switch off the lights using the bedside master switch you switch off most of the wall sockets, so that phone you thought was charging is not.
Breakfast is fantastic, don't miss.

Lovely grounds, overlooking RiverKwai, Convenient

Lovely grounds , overlooking River Kwai, close to bridge, rooms dated but clean. Breakfast in garden nice location- food ok-croissants hard.
Didn't have other meals since only stayed 1 night. Pool looked nice - no chance to use it - or in site bikes

Great family resort

This is an older resort, but in good condition and is beautifully maintained grounds beside the River Kwai, but only a few minutes walk, via the railway bridge, from the tourist epicentre.

The rooms are large and well appointed, the only downside being that they are rather dark; better lighting would be a bonus.

The staff are friendly and very attentive, with excellent English language skills.

Facilities are good and there was enough to keep all three generations of our group entertained. The restaurants on site were good, with more choice a short drive away in the town and the surrounding area.

Altogether, a great stay and we would go again.

Hotel is very tired,We stayed for 9 days. we paid extra to have a river view room with balcony on the 3rd floor, the balcony roof pergola was rotting and paint peeling off very badly. The ceiling above our bed had paint peeling off, the floor tiles in the bathroom had a large shatter as though something heavy had been dropped on it in the entrance to bathroom and looks like it had been there for a long time as there was dirt grounded into it. Silicon in bathroom around door frame was like rough cement, certainly not 4 star we believed we would have. only one small and I mean very small bottle of body wash left daily for 2 people, same with shampoo,lucky I took some with me, no spare toilet roll left daily if you ran out you had to ring housekeeping for another which happened to us.
We had no choice on New Years eve but to go to their dinner and it was not cheap and we had paid for it in our room rate package, it was a buffet but not to international standard and only included 1 selected drink each in that cost, we could have caught a taxi into town and back, had dinner with a lot of change in our hands and been able to choose what we wanted to eat, it was disappointing and we had no other choice as we had to pay for it in our tariff. So be wary when offered festive package deals. There are no lifts in this hotel and it is a 3 story building, so lugging bags up and down stair flights is not easy. In restaurant had to find staff to serve us, we were the only ones there at time

Loved the Felix

We really liked this hotel. The resort is nice, with beautiful grounds and a wonderful pool. From the resort you can walk over the River Kwai bridge into town and hit some great restaurants. The breakfast was awesome, and we all enjoyed it. The only complaint is that the restaurants at the resort for dinner are a little weird, and we unexpectedly closed.
