Great staff, friendly and courteous. Breakfast a good mix of healthy items in an open dining area. Hotel situated on the walking street area, just out of reach of the noise from the open bars and friendly traffic. Providential and the look out from your balcony out across the town reminds one how Bangkok might have appeared 50 years ago. You can peddle a bike for 50b the short way to the cemetery and museum that allows one to ponder the past events that reshaped this town. Turn left out of the hotel a short way to the famous bridge and walk across it and lucky if a train bellows out as it squeezes by you.

Always a great stay

This is our 4th stay at The Bridge. We have tried more expensive hotels in Kanchanaburi and have been disappointed. The rooms are spacious with a balcony and the bathroom is large and modern with great hot water. Staff are super friendly with good English and we always feel very welcome. Right in the middle of walking street so plenty of dining options but still very quiet on a nightime.

First impressions matter

My fourth visit to Kanchanaburi and my first and last to The Bridge Residence.
Having caught the morning train from Bangkok, we arrived around 11am hot and a little dusty. I knew the check-in was 2pm but hotels often allow and offer an early check-in - not here.
We were told to walk around until the room would be ready at 2pm. I checked if we could check-in earlier and was told to come back at 2pm. Such an unfriendly and unhelpful response. I guess it was the staff doing their job but uncharacteristic of Thai hospitality.

As for the room, clean, well presented, bed comfortable and bathroom a good size. The room lacks heart and character; an armchair would have been much appreciated.
So very mixed feelings about our stay. I wouldn't stay again and don't recommend.

Our stay was based on speaking to a representative from hotels.com about maintaining a place with a great view of the river such as the one we had from our previous booking just down the way. Due to that previous hotel being full for an additional night, we were recommended this place. First of all the view was a complete falsehood in being that the \"river view\" was only available if you stepped out into the hallway of our floor to view the river, which was viewed over a dirty construction area and various village shops nothing like what was mentioned by our representative. The hotel room was very hot and stuffy with the AC not being powerful enough to cool the room down. The bathroom was clean, but again not to the specs of a \"suite\" I thought we were getting. Closet and bar/minifridge were decent. WIFI never worked.The pool area was decent but covered with some sort of plumbing overhanging above the pool, which had various birds perched above meaning bird poop and what not entering the pool. Breakfast was decent and better than expected considering not receiving the room accommodations recommended. Overall not recommended for those looking for a wonderful view of the river with comfortable space and feel.

Property was over rated in the adverts obviously Air brushed pics it took 9 hrs for AC to cool room down
I asked for a fan was promised one but never materialized
Shower was leaking more water than it was giving
Shower wash bottle was empty and after it was refilled it was blocked up. No real positives and when I checked out they charged me 25 baht for a kit kat this is after me paying top book prices for room
So yes thoroughly peed off with it

Great location. Easyily walkable to Bridge and main museum/ cemetery. Lots of good restaurants nearby - especially recommend Good Times just up from hotel on the river and Blue Rice over other side of river (10 min walk).
Staff very friendly. Good buffet breakfast plus you can order eggs.
Pool good. Towels provided, clean. Room very spacious. Comfy, big bed. A/C great. WiFi reliable.
Staff let us stay to use pool after we’d checked out as our overnight bus wasn’t until later. Looked after our bags too.
7/11 next door for water etc. Good bars close. Good Thai massage places too.
Great value would recommend and would stay again.

My only criticism would be that the buffet breakfast items were cold !!!

The hotel is located in a good area of town for both walking and driving. I'm still wary of Thailand's roads after a month in BKK so I was glad I was able to stay there without a car. The bus station is about 3km away and the train station is 1km. When I arrived by bus I hired a songteow (pickup truck/taxi) to take me to the hotel for 150 baht (ironically more than the bus cost me). When I was checking out, the hotel called a motorbike (with a sidecar) taxi with me that cost 50 baht. The River Kwai bridge is a leisurely 15-20min walk from the hotel. The railroad museum and Commonwealth graveyard is a 10-15min walk in the other direction. I recommend doing them on separate days. Right across the street from the hotel is a massage clinic that gives 60-90 min massages for 300 baht. There are a few restaurants and street vendors around (and a few bars). The hotel restaurant is excellent, and all the entrees are priced between 80-200 baht. There's a 7-11 very close by. There are more restaurants to the west within walking distance, and there are several bars and clubs within 2-10 min walking distance to the east. The hotel also has a laundry service that takes about a day and will cost maybe 200 baht. The gym isn't bad - they have a machine but the freeweights only go to 30lb dumbbells. The pool is very nice. Free parking and they rent bicycles. I think they rent cars and scooters too, but there are several shops east and west that rent them as well. Overall A+++

A lovely newer facility with parking under the building. Breakfast was bountiful, but everything was stone cold. For some reason the burners under the food trays were never ignited. Toiletries were not replenished after the first day. We accidentally broke a water glass, worth nothing, really, and were charged first 50, then 30 baht, or about 1 US dollar. Not the best way to end a visit. Not sure we will stay there again.

As in other feedbacks, many of the breakfast options that should have been hot were tepid and some of breakfast dishes were not replenished. We ate early and late for breakfast over a 3 night period. Usually we would eat dinner at the hotels we stay in but this didn't encourage us to do so... Everything else was great and there were lots of places to eat in the area.. Would I book again yes, but I wouldn't book the breakfast.

RIP OFF HOTEL

We had 1 dirty hand towel which we realized straight away was us,but they charged us for more!!! They showed us the towel on check out and a pillow case. The pillow case was dirty all over but we KNOW that was not us,she also said it was blood (would have needed a doctor to have lost that much blood) they also said we had a dirty bed sheet and duvet cover but did not show us these. When we protested they said they would call the police. Went back to just vacated room with made and hotel receptionist to look for evidence but none, all bedding clean (wish I had taken photos)Also paperwork had a different room number on, so was it ours? We just wanted to leave as it was spoiling out stay and said we would pay for towel/pillowcase but again threatened with the police unless we paid it all. She said hotel clean so I asked if she was calling us dirt, mmm is all she could say and said, again she would get the police. They stung us for £43 after she dropped the price. On top of this room 210 overlooks a big pile of rubbish with what looks like a poor family living by it, and there is a lot of noise from the school. It made me quite depressed,
We had no problems with dirty linen in our previous, or following hotels, also with all the hotels we used on a 7 month sabatical just over a year ago, yet we use the same brand of suntan lotion and body creams

We also notices more bags with linen and room numbers on ready to do the same to others checking out.....is it a scam???

Alright if you are looking to stay the night only.

Th room was clean, but was not as promised at the time of booking - no view from the balcony (just a trash yard), no separate bathtub, no separate sitting area. We reached late in the evening (as already intimated to the hotel) and the restaurant had already been closed by then and we had nothing to eat. However, the lady on the night duty was very helpful and super accommodating. She tried to do her best by helping us with some food, we had on us.

this hotel is absolutely amazing. Close to everything you need to do in town and the bridge. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Bridge Hotel is a true gem in town. The staff was helpful kind and courteous. the pool is on the second floor open to air yet has a roof above it so not good for sun tanning but great pool very clean and good area to sit around. the pillows were quite possibly the best pillows we have had in all of Asia also included a king sized body pillow. Beds were very comfortable room was immaculate. air conditioning worked great and all rooms have a balcony. Great overall stay.

Nice new hotel, really convenient for the museums & bridge. They offer an airport transfer service as well as car & driver for further afield sights. They were a little pricey in my opinion, but that's expected from a hotel service.
The room was really big & very clean with good air con'. No English language TV though which was a bit of a minus for me. Luckily the wifi was good.
Nice restaurant looked nice, with delicious food in the evening, but the breakfast was a bit poor. It did the job but nothing special & not huge choice. The staff seemed bored in the morning but the evening staff were very nice.
Mixed experience with reception staff, most were very friendly with decent English but some not so much. They seemed to change frequently too. I was given no info when I checked in ie: where the swimming pool/gym/spa was, that there were bikes for hire, restaurant times, city map etc which was a bit disappointing.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of 'foreigner street', close to Kanchanaburi attractions (all walking distance) eg the Bridge is 1500m, JEATH Railway Museum is 1500m. Clean rooms, VERY comfortable beds, clean pool and great food in the restaurant. We ate there a couple of times, but there are many other local eating places within a few mins walk, along with any number of bars serving ice cold beer. Staff are fantastic; nothing is too hard for them and a pleasure to meet.

River Kwai Comfy!!

Spent 2 night because of the convenience of it being close to River Kwai! Plus it's another 45 minutes to Erawan National Park! The hotel is walking distance to restaurant and bars! The neighborhood is good! The hotel and their rooms are very clean! Very nice hotel! My only problem was that I chose a room that was too big for their air condition unit to keep cold comfortably, other than that every thing was awesome!!

Highly recommend you stay at this lovely hotel!

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at this super hotel. Fairly new so accomodation modern, very comfortable room and spotlessly clean with a good breakfast selection. Swimming pool on second floor with excellent gym are an added bonus if you have time to make use of the facilities Staff were friendly and very courteous. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Kanchanaburi which we hope to do.

This was the last hotel we stayed at on a tour around Thailand so we experienced the extremes. For the price, the hotel is great! Decent location for walking for dinner and bars but also close to the bridge, museum, war cemetery. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were big and had comfortable beds!
I saw a review saying the disappointment in the breakfast, actually for Asia it was a decent breakfast.... It had a good variety but obviously no English/American breakfast!

This was our base when wanting to visit Erawan Falls and HellFire Pass. Good location with lots of bars and restaurants all around.
Clean room and hotel which looked like it was new or had been updated.

Only slight negative was as it wasn't too busy at the hotel some of the breakfast items on the buffet were not replenished or were a bit cold.
But I'd definitely stay again and recommend
