My stay was overall ok! decent for the price I paid. I didn't like the fact that they didn't disclose that they were roadworks outside the hotel so the roads were closed and we had to walk all around it.

Great little business hotel. However, it is surrounded by construction works and it can get too muddy to push a suitcase with ease. Clean rooms; would benefit from some having freeze dried coffee sachets in addition to a small assortment of teas, plus sugar sachets.

Overall great stay! I expect a lot worse but it was quiet, despite the constructions happening around the building. Room was comfortable and well equipped, bathroom was also good, towels were nice and thick, bed comfortable. Daily house keeping was done well.
Because of the constructions the walk from the metro was a bit difficult especially with a suitcase, you had to drag through some dirt, but otherwise all good! I’d stay again.

Property was about a 2-hour walk from Central Rail station. So you will have to get to know the transit. But M54 train will take you directly to and back from City Central Rail and then everything else is in walking distance. Hotel was clean and except for a few slamming doors and people coming in at 2:00 a.m. in the morning it was very quiet. The stuff was very helpful. I plan on staying here again in the near future and I would recommend this property although it is a little bit overpriced but this is Amsterdam after all and everything here is expensive

Lot of noise outside my room, doors slamming and smoke alarm going off early in morning. Non smoking hotel with hallway that always smelt like smoke. Overall it was a good stay and I would stay there again. Two things which the staff could work on : 1) the bathroom door in my room did not lock so must look at the upkeep 2) I was asked at checkout about a breakfast that we had not paid for, and later on it turned out to be a clerical / system error.

The foyer was looking a little tired. The reception staff were pleasant, although you couldn’t drive onto the car park without checking in first which was an inconvenience. The shower was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom, however, this was fixed later in the day. Despite having a kettle there were no coffee or milk concessions, only teabags. This was not rectified on the second day. The shampoo in the shower was cheap and the soap was hand cream. The beds were comfortable but the room was hot and quite noisy if you opened the window.

Such a bad experience !! I was at room 618 !!! The safe had no bateries under the bed was nasty not clean at all and one night by mistake i ringed twice for the parking place service and the guy start screamanig and almost jumped at me !!! I loved amsterdam and everything elese but this hotel was such a shame !!!

The staff at Hotel Joy were extremely friendly and accommodating. After a long flight, we very much appreciated being allowed into the room well before normal check-in time.

My only complaint about the room was the shower. The water pressure and temperature control were great, but there was only a glass partition for half the shower, so water always got outside the shower, making the floor in the whole toilet area wet - a very minor complaint.

Out in the middle of nowhere. Front desk directed us to an Asian Restaurant and said it was right behind the building in front of us. We have a Fitbit and it was almost 2 miles away. They provided us a kettle and tea but no coffee. The coffee machine was in the lobby and 2 Euros.

FORGET THIS PLACE, WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!
The hotel seems to be surrounded by what feels like an industrial estate. Having telephoned prior to arrival to arrange for parking that would require extra space for my Bentley upon booking in I was told no such telephone call was made. Kettle and tea only available in room no milk or coffee available even after requesting same at reception. Concierge suggested I walk down to the breakfast area in my pajamas and take a cup from there. Booked and paid for breakfast for three persons and provided with receipts and tickets. In the morning was told the transaction had not taken place. Changed their minds upon producing evidence - no apology. Food was cold and unappealing. Coffee was good though. Staff were belligerent, unhelpful, surly and ruined a terrific trip to the city. There was one young woman at reception who tried her hardest to help but got no support from her colleagues. Checked out and spent other nights in a fantastic hotel in the Nieumarket area. What a difference a few miles make.

This hotel looked all new and it is located near to metro station (about 5min walk), with some good restaurant options nearby (either walking distance or few stops by using the metro). Breakfast was very good and worth the extra charge. The only thing I’ve missed in the room was a complimentary coffee, as they only provided black tea. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city, very close to the Arena. Transportation from the airport is quick and straightforward. It is right in the business district and 2 minutes walk to the metro station. The only thing that I would say is a drawback, is that if you arrive after 10.00pm, you may struggle to find somewhere to eat and drink nearby, particularly on a Sunday, as the hotel bar is closed on that night. Having said that, there are vending machines available in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again.

A very blunt and basic hotel without any personality. Not very welcoming and reminds a lot of a 90's approach to accommodation. Things like USB charging points that considered now a given even to much cheaper budget hotels here was a luxury. Very expensive for what it offers. Cleaning was not the best... stayed for 14 days and really needs improvement. The toiletries dispenser gives a very cheap feeling. No coffee but tea in the room, iron and board only in the corridor along for all residents. I had 2-3 nights of immense noise with kids been put at time out, out in the corridor and screaming at 1:30am and reception responded that there is nothing that they can do. Facilities are minimal to none so quite curious how a 3 star is awarded. On the up side, very comfortable bed, great orientation with light coming in from dawn to dusk. Satellite tv with channels from all over the world. Location is perfect for metro to get to centre - 3min walk to station - or 10-15min walk to Bijlmer Arena with lots of shops food and supermarkets - if need i'd stay in one of the hotels there next time -.

I have stayed two nights in Joy Hotel and had a very pleasant experience. People at the reception are there 24/7 and they are very nice and helpful with everything. The hotel looks fresh, tidy and is welcoming. My room wasn't big, but it was enough for my short business stay. Breakfast was simple, but good and with enough choices for a coffee and a bite.
Also, the hotel was 2 minutes away from the offices where I was working during the day and 2 minutes away from the subway, with direct stop in the city centre of Amsterdam.

We stayed in this hotel as it was close to my husbands business. Unfortunately his company informed us this was a 3* hotel. This is not ! The facilities are shocking, the staff were unhelpful. We had a late checkout yet was knocked on the door twice for housekeeping and to be removed from the room. The rooms are tiny and were not of a 3* standard. We have stayed in many hotels and this was more like a hostel. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam regardless of your trips purpose.

The staff are friendly. Location is perfect! The metro station(train station) is only a short walk from the hotel - From there you can easily get around Amsterdam. Bijmiler Arena is a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel also - the arena has an IMAX cinema and lots of restaurants. I'd only stay at this hotel if you plan to travel around Amsterdam as the hotel its-self is quiet small and so you can feel a bit claustrophobic if your inside alot. There is a small bar inside - bar tender is lovely and cheerful - not much cocktail choices though (as it is just a small bar). There was 2 issues on my arrival though. The receptionist put me in a room that was already booked for someone else so as I was unpacking I had a knock on the door and the staff moving me to another room. When I arrived at the other room there were small human hair on the sheets, I complained and the room was cleaned. So, overall I guess it's ok for the price, because of the cleaning issue that I experienced and having to change rooms because of their error I'd give the hotel its-self a 1 and a half star and 5 stars for location. THEY GIVE €400 FINE IF YOU SPOKE IN THE ROOM AND WON'T REFUND YOUR DEPOSIT - JUST SO YOU KNOW!
