Older hotel that has not been renovated but was clean and the beds were comfy (most important!). Decent amount of space in the room. Disappointed that the AC was not working during a heat wave. The pool looked really nice. Overalll a nice stay and happy breakfast was included. I understand it is high season but not what I would call worth $400/night.

Room had balcony with partial view of Lake Brienz and beautiful views of Mount Jungfrau with beautiful green valley and mountains near hotel which has a pool. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast had good coffee choices and the best flavored yogurts. We met the owner, Alex, hitchhiking from the hotel to the train station who drove us several times either from Interlaken from his famous Aare Korean BBQ restaurant to his hotel or to train station. Great hospitality from Alex!!! From Interlaken OST, the train ride to Wilderswill train station is about 5 minutes and then a short bus ride of a few minutes to a stop which is about 5-10 minutes walk uphill to hotel. Very quiet area to get a good night sleep and close to wilderswill train station to go to nearby Lauterbrunnen.

The breakfast is really good but the room and hotel itself is outdated. This hotel is located at a top of a hill in wilderswil so each day we had to walk on an upward hill for 10-15 mins. They do not offer pick up shuttle which I think would’ve made our experience a lot more enjoyable. If we had known, we would have not booked as it’s very far from the closest bus stop and scary at night. Our room (deluxe premium) did NOT have air conditioning so please be aware before booking.

This hotel is a disaster, first we had to drag our luggage over a kilometer UPHILL in the mountains from the train station.
No mention of this ahead of time. No public transport to the hotel!
Once we got there the reception was cold and unfriendly. I mentioned that it would have been helpful to know that we would have to walk (in the rain, but not their fault) to the hotel. She just said that most people who stay there have cars.
I’ve been traveling in Europe a lot and only rarely have a rental car. The trains, busses etc are usually terrific!!
Anyway, the room was very dated and shabby. I found a used face mask under the bed…. Gross!
But the view was gorgeous, I suppose they think that that was enough.
Breakfast was okay but nothing like the other hotels where we have stayed.

Also, the outside steps and walkways were broken and falling down, they did look like they might be doing some repairs but never saw anyone working and they didn’t give any alternative routes to enter the reception area.

Before arriving in Switzerland we prepaid for 3 nights here…but wanted to leave right away. They would not give us any money back or cancel our reservation. I get it but they were very rude about it. We ended up staying 2 of our 3 nights but couldn’t stay there for another one. We just gave up a $400/night room bc it was SO terrible.

Run!!! Do not stay here. You’ll be disappointed.

could not recommend a better spot to stay. be aware- it’s at the top of the hill so if you plan to bus and walk your luggage to the hotel it’s a lot! but SO WORTH IT. we had a balcony room with the most amazing views ever and all the farm animals. I felt like I was dreaming. 10/10 so happy to be stayed here and would literally spend a lifetime here if I could

The staff here are so kind and helpful! They let us store our bags on the day of checkout, helped us plan our activities and lookup pricing, and let us extend our stay by one more day. The room was gorgeous with a double balcony and an incredible view of the mountains. The complimentary breakfast was great as well. There’s a direct bus to interlaken as well as a train. I would highly recommend this place when traveling to interlaken!

Very nice and helpful staff. Room was ready when we arrived. Breakfast had some options and the breakfast staff stayed on top of the food and clearing tables. Room had a lovely view of the mountains. Quiet location, but easy to get into town and as a stepping off point to the region. Hot shower with great water pressure. Only issue was an influx of dead flies near the patio entrance. We cleaned them up, then return at the end of the day and they were there again.

I absolutely love this hotel, I don’t have a negative thing to say about it. It was super clean. The staff was kind, patient, helpful and thoughtful. Breathtaking view! It’s definitely on the quiet side, which makes sense since it’s in a residential neighborhood.

It is a little outdated, but I think it brings/completes its charm.

We will definitely stay here again when we return to Switzerland soon 💕.

We had a phenomenal visit as the staff was delightful, the breakfasts each morning were delicious, and the location was perfect! We had everything we needed at the hotel including a beautiful view and comfortable accommodations. The location and the common areas of the hotel are nice. However the conditions of the rooms vary greatly. We had booked 4 single rooms. One had been renovated and was nice, two were Ok and one (room 12) was awful because its bathroom was unacceptable. The staff at check in was not very personable. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.

The views from the hotel are beautiful, but to get there is difficult thru very narrow streets. Walk to the train station is convenient which allows easy access to all area activities, but the return walk is strenuous as it is quite a hill to climb. Parking is limited at the hotel. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated inside, rooms are clean, breakfast service is very good, staff is pleasant. Hotel appears older and in need of some structural upgrades on the outside.

Stayed in room number 21 which was the room Sean Connery used when the cast stayed at the hotel whist filming Goldfinger. Lovely room with great decor. A pleasure and privilege to use it. Friend arranged without my knowledge for a dry Martini ( shaken not stirred) to be delivered to the room for which the management did not charge my friend for. A lovely gesture by both parties. I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody.

Did not like the fact there was not a shuttle or car service to the train station. It was quite a walk up and down a very steep hill. Would have preferred options for lunch and dinner. We had to walk to other hotels for lunch and dinner. The scenery was beautiful but it was at a cost. A taxi was roughly $25 francs one way to the train station.

Words cannot describe how terrible this hotel is. Cost a fortune and gave our balcony room away. Bed like an army cot to short to fit on. Rude receptionist who made my partner go out in a severe electrical storm to retrieve luggage without delay. Run down facility. Poorly constructed and noisy. No air conditioning. And more. Avoid at all costs!!

Rooms could use a little refresh but overall they were super clean and serviceable. We were extremely grateful for a fan as it was hot and even with the balcony doors open the room was warm. Our son loved the pool, the breakfast was very good, and the scenery from our balcony was beautiful!

The hotel is in a scenic location. Wilderswil Village is a beautiful place, and we chose this hotel mainly for that reason. We enjoyed the scenery. The room was comfortable, and there were no issues with the facilities. The breakfast was good. It is a hike from the railway station, though.

The views out my window in the morning were sureal.
To wake up in the morning and see the sunrise against the mountain valley. Cows in the farmlands below and seeing the snow capped mountains in the background.
This hotel is dated, so noise from other patrons is a little issue (foot steps, floor boards creaking, talking outside)
But a set of earplugs solved any issues I had with this hotel. Will definitely stay here again if given the chance
