I see the staff read the comments so writing this to be as constructive as possible. I booked this hotel because I was looking for a pool. I didn’t realize how much of a spa it actually is. So I only really used the pool - I can’t really comment on the other aspects which people seemed to enjoy. The other caveat here is that I probably stayed in one of the cheaper rooms so you get what you pay for.

1) Straight out the gate, the staff are lovely and helpful. They tolerated my crap French and that always warms my heart. But everything was super efficient
2) the restaurant is amazing. Tremendous quality for the price.
3) few amenities. For a place that considers itself a spa this was a bit surprising. No cream rince? Bring everything you need (as someone who was travelling light for the weekend, this was a pain). There is barely even any coffee.
4) the walk to the hotel from the station was less than scenic, but only 10 minutes. The area is bit run down relative to the rest of the city and the road is a construction site. That said, the other paths to the town square are absolutely charming and it was basically 10 minutes to anywhere you want to go on foot.
5) I kept hearing thumping, and wondering if my neighbours were having a good time, but it turned out that I was next to the stairs. Light sleepers will want to avoid, but it didn’t bother me too much.
6) most frustrating thing was how hard it was to know when things were open. Signs were inconsistent but staff helped

We had an amazing stay at Aquabella! It is very centrally located. The property is gorgeous! The room was spacious and very clean! The pool was a peaceful, beautiful, and delightful place to be! The staff were welcoming and incredibly helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

After weeks of traveling across Eastern France and staying in some less than ideal hotels, Aquabella was a breath of fresh air and a great place to finish our trip. Its location is a short walk to most of the amazing restaurants and cafes in Aix. Although we didn’t avail ourselves of the spa (which is huge) we did spend some serious time soaking up the sunshine at the beautiful pool.

My only negative observations were the elevators needed servicing (jerking to a halt on each floor) and their online hotel guide needed updating to reflect the actual opening times of the restaurant and pool as well as the available TV channels. Speaking of, it would be nice if they had a few more English speaking channels available but this was the norm in most places we stayed.

Still, a great hotel in a great location and I would return anytime without hesitation.

Great property located in a walking distance to main restaurants,cafes,and shopping . Me and my son didn’t use the amenities such as pool, sauna, fitness room, but we liked what we did see.
My only complaint is the poor maintenance conditions in the bathroom. The sink was clogged, the shower holder was broken,and the faucet was rusted. I did inform the front desk about that . Despite of it I do recommend this property.

This is our second stay at this hotel. We stayed for four nights. The staff are very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, we had a balcony overlooking the rooftops and distant mountains. We did not use the spa, but we did go to the pool, which was sparkling and clean.The on site restaurant serves great food, we had dinner one evening.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. Just a very short walk to shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay there again.

First the good: Decent internet, good tv, GREAT location, has a gym and steam room. Staff at bkfst room were good.

Not so good: Bkfst at 22euros is average at best--typical of most hotels. Eggs/pancakes are NOT cooked to order. No staff in spa. No showers in locker room.

Less than good: They charge for coffee and water beyond the 2 tiny capsules you get. So if when you arrive you have a coffee, you will have none for the morning as they only refill them in the afternoon. Dining room looked filthy. Wonderful view blocked by netting.

Awful: There is a smell in the room from some sort of air freshner or perhaps the cleaning supplies which never leaves the room--given the room is stuffy this is bad. Especially since the ac barely worked and just blows around the smell. Stains on the floors, garbage in the hallway. Toilet buttons didn't work. Knobs falling off and bed that was lumpy. All around (except for dining room) the staff was unfriendly.

This hotel has seen better days (maybe 35 years ago?) and needs a serious refresh.

Good sized pool which was warm and had plenty of loungers and parasols.

Aquabella is a lovely hotel for rest and relaxation. It was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
On arrival the staff were all welcoming and helpful. The room was very spacious and beautifully clean, having everything we could have wished for.
Access to the spa facilities including the large pool was exceptional.

The breakfast was excellent, which was served in the orangerie, surrounded by beautiful landscape gardens.
We also had lunch and dinner on a couple of occasions and it’s was superb.
Unfortunately we only stayed 3 nights but will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.
A central location for an amazing hotel for a perfect stay

The spa facilities were decently maintained. The room was basic.The hotel parking was off site and not convenient. The town was ok with many restaurant options close to the hotel. Had a great 6 night stay Jul/Aug. The place is in a quiet area and the facilities are really good. the pool area did get busy at times but wasn't overcrowded. The room was good, some minor things but nothing that you would focus on. Breakfast was a good range and we did eat one night in the restuarant which was pleasant. The bar area was good at night. Would recommend.

This is an excellent hotel. The room is spacious, clean, and they have solid AC. The WiFi is also amazing from everywhere, including from the pool.
The spa is included so it was a luxurious stay. Highly recommend! it’s well situated and within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see in Aix. When we took the bus, the stop was just up the street.

The hotel was really nice with great ammenities. Spectactular breakfast and really nice dinner menu. We didn't take advantage as much as we should have the nightlife in the local town squares. MUST see. The ONLY negative was the waiter we had the first night in the hotel restaurant. If I had his name i would write it, but he vwry intentionally ignored us at every phase of the dinner, including making us almost have to light a signal fire to ask for our bill. Then he took another 15 to show up for payment. We were dead tired from the flights and he nearly ruined it for us. Should be fired.

The hotel is well-positioned for those who want to explore Aix. The hotel has beautiful grounds (if it's sunny) and there is a gorgeous pool outdoors for those who like to lounge. Downside, poor service in the bar -- overwhelmed staff with insufficient staff to serve guests in a timely fashion. Makes it difficult if you are trying to be more casual and get a bite to eat or drink there. Skimpy on things like amenities to the skin and hair -- no hair conditioner in the room or in the spa. No body lotion in hotel room, so bring your own. My room had an empty soap dispenser, so especially irritating when I went to took a shower. Main hotel food menu (including room service) insufficient options for those don't want a heavy meal. Busload of tourists arrived in lobby and it felt suddenly very corporate. Great breakfast if you buy privileges.

The hotel was great. The room was big and nice, everything was super clean, the staff very friendly, and breakfast was very complete.

Parking was very easy, in a garage that’s like one block away from the hotel, and which you pay for at the reception when you check out.

The spa was also very complete and very fun.

Finally, the location is perfect. You can walk around the city and reach anywhere in a few minutes. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing like a 2,000 year old spa!

Loved this place so much we’d stay for a year if we could! As it was, we extended our two night stay into five. Our corner suite overlooked the 2,000 year old Sextius Tower, pool, garden, and had a view of Mont Sainte Victoire. Both Pavillion Vendome and Cours Mirabeau are just minutes away by foot as is all of the Old City. L’Orangerie, the in-house restaurant, deserves a Michelin star for fine dining any day; their Sunday brunch buffet is to die for. Spotless comfort, helpful multilingual staff, gorgeous setting. Will definitely stay there again!

Like all the hotels we stayed in France I like that they clean your room daily without you having to make a special request. I like that check out is at 12. I wish hotels in the United States would follow these principles of courtesy towards their well paying guests. This hotel has a wonderful spa with a full gym. It is clean and comfortable and within walking distance to many restaurants. My only complain is that they were very slow in refilling the breakfast menu. Even when there was still a half hour left on the schedule they did not refill many things.

My Retreat in Aix-en-Provence

The Aquabella is a gem in Aix-en-Provence. It has been remodeled since my last visit and it is beautiful. The staff was responsive and kind. The L’Orangerie restaurant was beautiful and the food delicious. I will always choose to stay here when I visit Aix.
