We had a great time in Ubud and this property was stunning! We stayed for 6 nights in a 1 bed pool villa. It was GORGEOUS. the room itself was very open concept. The pool and daybed/cabana was so convenient. The main pool was beautiful. The food was delicious and the drinks were good too. For us - the cocktails were VERY sweet so we didn’t fully enjoy that, but that’s just a personal preference, nothing to do with the resort.
unfortunately knocking a star as the actual service for drinks and food…. It was extremely slow. ordering a single can of Coke at the pool bar (with no one else there) it took 15 minutes to bring over. For cocktails sometimes longer. For breakfast and dinner, there were times we waited an hour for our food. One morning we actually didn’t even get our breakfast. I understand creating a relaxing atmosphere but I feel an hour is a bit long. Overall we had an amazing time at the resort and I’d recommend it to others! Just be prepared to wait a bit !!

This villa resort is a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite being located away from the tourist amenities, the setting, private pool, public pool, beautiful villa with outdoor bathtub, excellent food and staff service are more than enough for a fulfilling and highly satisfying stay. If the hotel could ensure that the bathtub and private pool is better cleaned, then it would make the place a perfect resort. Regardless, I am a highly satisfied guest and would recommend anyone to give this villa a go. Definitely a must-stay villa resort amidst the rice terrace and highly authentic yet stylish Balinese architecture. Love it!

This resort is sublime. The staff are so generous and kind. They brought me a special tea when I felt ill and then on my husband‘s birthday they brought us a delicious cake complete with a candle. Fabulous property set in beautiful grounds, rice fields on site and surrounding area.
Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Bedrooms were beautiful layout very spacious some areas or shelves, wardrobes could do with deeper clean, skirtings and corners ,but overall - lovely stay great anrea , slightly anway from hub but easy quick taxi ride, I would definitely recommend.

The grounds are picturesque and facilities well looked after and the villas are in good order. I would suggest asking for a place away from the front of the resort as they are quieter. On site restaurant is good for breakfast and there is a shuttle bus service is offered hourly to the sister hotel in the centre of town. Ubud has plenty of attractions, shopping and dining we had to plan a day just to stay by the pool. Would stay here again.

Amazing hotel very well located within Ubud. One of the nicest hotel I have stayed at with a excellent service and staff. Varying breakfast everyday and outstanding scenery. Highly recommend it. A friendly haven which could do with updating

A welcome haven away from the madness of Ubud. Lovely grounds with some nice touches such as a daily free afternoon tea and the hourly shuttle bus into Ubud. The main pool was beautiful as were the restaurant buildings and the grounds.

However, our villa felt very tired - the indoor and outdoor shower both trickled out water, despite using at different times of the day (i.e late at night or afternoon when demand was likely to be lower) and the ponds in the villa were really dirty and murky - the fish could barely be seen. Internally, the villa was nice but the fixtures and fittings could do with some updating / refeshing. It was a little disappointing given the price point of the villas and the fact that the hotel boasts many luxury boutique hotel accolades - it didn’t feel particularly luxurious, in my opinion. I stayed in 2 much nicer quality hotels in Bali on this trip for less money per night. Perhaps we were unlucky with our villa allocation.

Despite our disappointment with the quality of the room, we found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming; the restaurant food was lovely (we only ate there one night) and the breakfast set menu (changing daily) was a refreshing change from the repetitive buffet set-up.

The ubud village resort is situated on a luscious, beautiful green setting, with an authentic feel that would be hard to rival. It’s truly in the jungle, and you are reminded of that with breathtaking views across the whole site.

We stayed in the pool view villa, which was amazing. It had its own pool, 3 day beds, a small kitchen and many other great things. It was very spacious and luxurious. The only slight problem is that, because it really is in the wilderness, there are a lot of bugs. But this is easily countered by closing your doors at all times.

The pool area is amazing! The pool itself is massive, and it’s design is truly breathtaking. It overlooks the grounds of the resort, filled with fruit, reeds and a beautiful variety of well-kept plants. Overall it was a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for that authentic ubud getaway!

Amazing Ubud Resort!

We had an amazing stay at the Ubud Village Resort & Spa. The hotel itself is extremely relaxing and surrounded by rice fields. The location is great for walking (or taking the free hotel shuttle) to local Ubud restaurants and bars. The private villa was incredible and somewhat affordable in comparison to others we looked at in Bali. We loved the staff and would definitely stay here again next time we are in Ubud.

This resort is for people who really wants to get away from it all.

It is quiet, out of the main tourist spots and facilities are just sufficient for a comfortable stay with minimum modern day comfort.

Facilities are adequate. However my room was below par.

My drainage was choke the day I checked in. It didn't get fixed even by the day I checked out.

As soon as you arrive you realize this place is amazing. Very relaxing and the staff are always smiling and looking to make sure everything is taken care of for you. I had a villa that was amazing. My own private pool and a view of the what seemed like the forest/jungle made me feel like royalty. The room was comfortable and I loved the outdoor shower. They have activities scheduled daily and a great buffet. This place is great.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Ubud Village Resort. The grounds and the villas were beautiful, the service was top-notch, food was astounding and the location - just a bit out of the bustling center of Ubud, overlooking lovely rice paddies, but close enough for a long walk into town - was exactly what we wanted.

Because it was low-season and we were staying for a week, the hotel gave us a generous upgrade. We loved our private plunge-pool for \"secret\" swims and we had not one but two private day-beds under thatched grooves. The villa itself was so luxurious with indoor and outdoor showers and a deep tub for two. We certainly didn't want to leave!

The daily breakfast was unbeatable, with choices between western favorites (eggs benedicts, waffles, etc.) with Balinese traditional foods - and everything was cooked to foodie-pleasing perfection. The rotating breakfast menus (in seven days it's Sunday menu, then A, B, C, A, B, C, and Sunday again) works great, even for long stays. And the views from the breakfast, across rice paddies being worked traditionally with the distant mountains - was just so ideal.

The grounds were also lovely, with a peaceful large main pool with poolside service and a complementary afternoon tea service. We were sad to say goodbye to the staff as they really took care of us like we were family!

A private Oasis

While I found Bali overcrowded with tourists and Ubud snarled with traffic, this hotel was a sanctuary from it all. We rarely left our villa with its own pool and two Balinese day beds. Restaurant at hotel was great. Staff was constantly checking everything was okay.

Great hotel in Ubud, close enough to city center

Beautiful property, food is wonderful and plentiful. Shuttle is great, very prompt, we also walked to town and back a few times. Spa is very nice. They have a tea and cakes tasting from 4-5pm everyday. Staff helped us set up excursions and rides.

The staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. They are open to complaints and compliments.

The vilas are spacious and clean. They are indoor outdoor and can be opened up pretty well. The staff does a mosquito set up at night during turndown, the entire property was fogged on Sunday around 5pm. We left the property for the fogging. The A/C works very well.

The staff decorated a bit for our honeymoon and made us a cake which was a great gesture, very appreciated.

I can echo other reviews that the pools are a bit cold for out tastes but it wasn't stoping us from using them.

I would share what we told them, there were things that needed to be fixed. The light was out in the entry and the door to the villa had issues. The door was promptly addressed after we brought it to the hotel's attention.

Notes to travelers: there are creatures that inevitably got into every place we stayed. You learn to appreciate/tolerate them as this is an indoor outdoor living type country. Mosquito nets are appreciated and we definitely used them.

Tip... while there, take the Paon Bali cooking class, climb a volcano if you can, and ask the hotel about driver that hotel set up for us, lives next door very helpful. We wished we had met him sooner.

Our stay was not what we anticipated and nowhere near what we know about Balinese hospitality in our over 10 years of visiting the island. Probably, the hotel staff was busy attending those guests who left the previous awesome reviews based upon which we also chose these villas.
This is the first place we experienced that you actually have to pay almost 50.000 Rupiah if you want to serve any type of coffee at breakfast (you only get reg coffee and tea at no cost). Also, if you wanna serve your breakfast in the villa you have to pay another $10. This was quite bad because we traveled with a small child who was whining and crying on and off, so I'm sure the other guests were not too happy about during breakfast. Another major con is the super slow wifi. We've heard other guests complaining too, and we were told the IT guy was working on it, but nothing changed.
Reviewers were talking about small lovely details that made the place special. For us, they forgot to clean our room although we called them and asked them to do it in the morning, they kept leaving 2 towels instead of 3 although we were 3 persons, they left us without soap one day, and the evening before departure they didn't even bother to fill up the oil-burning candle. Unfortunately, the staff lacks the professionalism required for a 4 1/2 * accommodation, although Mrs Juri is trying hard to compensate for it. There are so many villas in Bali that you can't afford being so careless with your guests.

Amazing resort into the rice fields

Our experience started with cold refreshing towel and a nice welcome drink. The villa was amazing with its local touches and the private pool. The outdoor shower and the bathtub were in the middle of a small botanical garden. The breakfast menu was changing everyday and everything was really tasty. The infinity pool into the rice fields and under the palm trees was dreamy. We took a half day tour and had an awesome time thanks to our friendly driver. Amazing experience!

The resort is beautifully situated amongst rice paddies, yet only a few minutes from town.

Our villa was amazing. Private, clean and HUGE! The outdoor shower & bath were fabulous. The plunge pool (cooler than the main pool), is good for a quick cool-off or to dunk feet after a day of walking round Ubud, while the day beds are the perfect spot to relax, read or just watch the kites.

Food at the resort was first class. The complimentary breakfasts were varied each day. Afternoon tea consisted of some savoury & sweet delights. Food from the restaurant, whether dining in, delivered to the villa, or ordered at the pool area was always of a high quality.

I highly recommend Ubud Village Resort & Spa to anyone, and also recommend Ubud as the perfect base due to its central location making it easy to get around. Shopping in town is good. There's lots of variety, virtually no-one hassling you on the streets and no concerns when exchanging money.

My words really can't do justice to our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much or too difficult for them, and they never stop smiling! The personal touches make you feel very special, like you're part of the 'Ubud Village' family!

If you're looking for a wedding venue, Ayu & Team went above and beyond. We were married in our villa courtyard and couldn't have asked for a better day. It was perfect. Thank you to everyone involved.

We're already planning next years return!

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff & excellent food

We could not fault this hotel from beginning to end. You really have to see it to appreciate how utterly beautiful the hotel and its grounds are; the pool is magnificent, the little restaurants are wonderful and the views are spectacular. We were welcomed warmly with a drink and cold towel and received exemplary service throughout our stay - including learning new Balinese phrases! The food was incredible and great value for money; breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and couldn't do enough for you - something common for Balinese staff, it appears. We cannot recommend this hotel enough for a romantic getaway; we can't wait to return as soon as possible!!

Spent 3 nights at the resort at the end of May 2016. The overall experience was lovely, the food was excellent as was the service. The room was very nice though a little tired and need of some minor maintenance. Only complaint would be that because the plunge pool wasn't in the sun much it was too cold to swim in, would have been nice if it was heated just a bit. Location was good, outside of the main village but a free shuttle bus is provided so access was easy. Also great for getting out to other areas of Bali without having to deal with the traffic in Kuta and Seminyak. Ubud is also much quieter and over all nicer with less street hawkers. Can't beat the value. Wouldn't get anything like this in Oz at the price we paid. Expedia deal was awesome with the best flights with Virgin.

Located just outside of the town but close enough to walk. 5min shuttle ride. Resort was beautiful. Very private. Not over crowded. Rooms w. private pool were great, especially for the price. Thanks to the wonderful, kind-hearted and always smiling staff, we spent an amazing stay in this delightful resort. The villas are comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. Terrific Villa right near Ubud town

We had a tremendous stay at Ubud Village. We used the spa facilities which were excellent, we used the main pool and had cocktails, as well as our plunge pool in our villa and both were great. Room service was quick and delicious and breakfast each morning was a dream. We also booked a cooking class which was setup in the garden and was so much fun. The transfers to the town were easy to use and easy to find.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We were delighted with our villa, which had an outdoor bathtub, two showers (indoor and outdoor). All with hot water. We had a private plunge pool as well, and lovely outdoor area with a daybed and dining table. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The location of the hotel is a bit further from the main Ubud, however it was really pretty resort you really did not need to leave if you didn't want to. The swimming pool area was lush. I spent a good amount of time in the spa, which was amazing - sent me to sleep everytime. They even pick you up via golf buggy outside your villa and take you to and from the spa. The breakfast was great, it was an a la carte so you have to pick from a choices. The view was amazing. A great stay for a great honeymoon stay.

We chose to start or stay in Bali in the Ubud Village Resort and Spa and were more than happy with the decision. The hotel is situated a little outside the centre of village but there are restaurants and shops within walking distance. The hotel's shuttle service into town is handy and reliable. They would also put on extra transport to make sure no one was left behind if the \"last bus\" was full.

We stayed in a one bedroom garden view villa with pool. This was roomy and comfortable and was kept very clean. There is also a main pool and sunbed area.

Service was excellent in all areas. Breakfast was served from a rotating menu with good choices and excellent views across the fields. We also ate twice in the hotel at night. The food was imaginative and good value. The one treatment I had at the spa was also very good.

Definitely recommended and would be our first choice if back in Ubud.

Fantastic Resort

My husband and I enjoyed our stay for 3 nights at Ubud Village Resort and Spa. The rooms are spacious with a very nice layout. We loved having our own pool to relax in. The food was excellent and the staff are very nice and helpful. The hotel shuttle to Ubud was convenient. We recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet get away but still close to shopping and night life of Ubud. We will be back!

Close enough to Ubud town centre ( approx 10 min by shuttle/taxi ) but far enough out to provide a peaceful and beautiful location over looking the rice paddies. We had booked and paid for a Rice Paddy Villa when the Reservation manager called to explain that one wasn't available and we were offered a Garden Villa instead and we requested a day use late checkout. Initially we weren't happy that this could occur, however the Garden villa was great and much more private compared to the Rice paddy Villa's. In all it was a beautiful stay and we felt very special. Even though all 30 villas were occupied , it was always peaceful, quite and uncrowded ensuring a very romantic and relaxing time.

Great hotel within walking distance to Ubud

Went to visit our daughter. We walked to Ubud which took about 15 minutes. The walk was along a narrow street with a lot of traffic. The driving is kind of a controlled chaos so you need to be careful. That goes for the whole city though. There are a lot of shops and restaurants. the range of food varies but you should be able to find something you like. If you go you should plan some activities. My daughter had everything planned for us so we had an easy time of it.

quiet and classy

if you want a quiet relaxing holiday without backpackers, this is the place. The grounds and staff are excellent, very welcoming, and very comfortable. The villas are superb - outside bath tub was a treat, we used it 2/3 nights. The private pool was probably too cold and too deep (4-5ft) for prolonged use, and the food was probably less authentic than I like, but I'm the one that would shun a five star hotel kitchen and eat from a stall on the street corner. All in all, I very much look forward to returning here to the private villa once again. I was in 410 and that's nice and quiet, very private and that's the one I'd request again.

We very much enjoyed our time at The Ubud Village Resort. We stayed in a garden villa looking towards the main pool and still maintained a great deal of privacy.

The villa itself was stunning with a comfortably sized pool and a spacious outdoor area. We never wanted to leave as it was so beautiful.

The staff were lovely and very attentive. Breakfast and afternoon tea were fantastic with a beautiful view over the rice paddies, the only flaw was the substandard weak excuse they served for coffee, it was flavored water; any coffee lover will struggle with this!

This was my second stay at Ubud Village Resort and Spa and did not disappoint . From the moment you arrive the staff are outstanding in making your stay special . It was our wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty , from our outdoor marble bath filled with flower petals and a delicious chocolate cake , complementary foot massage and back massage in the tranquil spa . You really don't want to leave the property it is so relaxing . Breakfast room overlooks the grass fields , you could be in the middle of the countryside not on the edge of bustling Ubud. Shuttle service takes you to Ubud centre every hour which we made use of , but taxis would be very cheap . We walked a couple of times. If you want to give yourself a treat you could not find a better place to stay , the little piece if paradise I said in my review three years ago has not lost it's appeal and is even more polished. Thank you for making our visit so special.

The best hotel I've experienced in years

Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing! This hotel was spectacular, particularly from a hotelier and service perspective. The rates are very affordable, especially when you consider you're getting 3000+ sqft for a bedroom. Breakfast was part of our ritual here as it was so good, the views are amazing wherever you look in this hotel, the pool was a big plus as it was well kept, the spa is comforting and well-equipped, the staff is super friendly, the afternoon tea is a MUST (can't believe I just said that, but it's true), they offer free knock-off DVDs at the reception (ah, Indonesia), they also offer free shuttles to Ubud on the hour which is really convenient. Overall I think the staff really make sit, it is an upscale resort and spa and I would recommend to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights after spending time at Maya Ubud. For two different 5 star resorts, the difference was huge. The staff were very friendly at the Ubud village and the pool and grounds were beautiful, however the resort is by no means five star. The food was really disappointing, the gym equipment old and not working. We ordered some mojitos at the pool bar which took half an hour to arrive and when they did, had no alcohol in it. This property would have been great in its hey day, but is now really over priced and underwhelming. Maya Ubud on the other hand is pretty much the same price and we could not find a single fault with it.

The most outstanding resort in Ubud, Bali

We had an excellent stay in Ubud Village Resort & Spa. It has an extremely beautiful location amidst the rice paddies of Ubud. The views are absolutely impressive with 360 degree views of natural surroundings. The garden and infinity pool is picturesque. Their spa is reputed to be also one of the best in the world! They have a good shuttle bus service to town as well.

The staff are very polite and helpful. They tried their best to address our needs. There are parts within the villa that needs a little fixing but the technical staff promptly solved the issues after our feedback. E.g. shower door that does not close properly, WC that rocks, sink that does not flow. No complaints.

Beautiful location. Resort I'm sure was fabulous when new. They do not do a good job cleaning, and it shows in the room. Also bugs and mosquitos everywhere including room, so you must use the mosquito netting at night. The cleaning staff left the doors to the villa open while cleaning, so full of bugs everyday

Beautiful Resort - Poor service

The resort is really on a stunning property and was very well built. However the service was lacking in many ways. It seems like someone implemented a standard work for all jobs at the resort and the staff treats these as the 'rules' of the resort. For example, they try to make you feel comfortable by taking your bags when you arrive and deliver them to your room. However, the bell hop was not available when we arrived and they told us to go to our room and wait for the bags to arrive. I insisted that the bag service was not necessary and I would carry my bags myself. The staff said it was their policy and I couldn't bring my own bags. After a day of traveling around the island all I wanted was a shower and a change of clothes - but I was forced to wait for my bags. This kind of \"service\" is what you can expect. Well intended, but poorly executed.

Superb accommodation in tranquil surroundings.

We were blown away by our villa and surroundings. We had only booked for 2 nights and extended our stay an extra night (forfeited our accommodation at a hotel in Seminyak). We thought we were in paradise whilst having breakfast overlooking the rice fields watching the procession of ducks. The aromatherapy massage was the best I've ever had. The staff greeted us on first name basis and catered to our every need. The free courtesy car to Ubud enabled us to visit the Monkey Forest, great restaurants and fantastic shopping. We even witnessed a wedding procession. My next trip to Bali will definitely include this resort.

This hotel was simply amazing. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of the duration of our stay here. We had an unfortunate circumstance where we were out and about for the whole day one of the days of our stay, returning around dinner time that night for a massage at the spa and a relaxing dinner. It was not long after that my husband noticed that his wedding ring was missing from his finger. We searched high and low, and also notified reception incase it had been handed in. The next day we checked out and had written off any chance of finding the ring again as it could have been lost anywhere around central Bali. The hotel staff were sympathetic to our loss and deemed to search high and low through our room for us incase it was lost in there somewhere. Later that day we returned to the Hotel to check if there was any news on the ring. Amazingly the ring was found in the bottom of the pool in our villa, and returned back to us! Such amazing staff to go the extra mile for us, firstly to find it, and secondly to return it with enormous smiles on their faces.

Amazing stay

The hotel is great. We had a one bedroom villa with private pool. The villa is spacious and clean. The pool is small but private! It takes about an hour to get here from the airport and cost us about 250k rupees. The hotel offers a free shuttle to ubud town which is a few minutes drive. We loved our sty and would definitely return.

Great grounds and particulatly good views from the breakfast area. Subject to traffic then around 10 mins into town on the shuttle bus (free) and a reliable service, hence location perfect. If anything then the staff are over-attentive so no concerns there. To be critical then our villa (#420) had limited padi views despite being labelled accordingly, and we could hear the electrical generator to an extent meaning we didn't get it to be properly quiet when out by the pool.

We had a holiday we expected, relaxing and quiet. If we wanted noise and shopping Ubud was nearby to visit. The entire experience of Ubud is no longer one of peace and tranquility it is now a carbon copy of the popular destinations in Bali.

I will not return to Bali as this envoronment is not my go, but there are many others who like it so I will leave it to them.
