Super convenient location, close to restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping. The hotel boasts a stunning exterior with a charming mini garden along the pathway. The room—especially those on the ground floor—has potential but would benefit from better humidity control.

Convenient location for us & the reviews were good that’s why we booked it but it was disappointing.
The rooms were clean, although we had to ask for clean towels they don’t change them unless you ask.
We had breakfast included - nothing special, tasteless, I wouldn’t bother - plenty of great options outside of the hotel.
Unfortunately the hotel uses some very toxic cleaning products with a terrible synthetic floral smell that lingers on everything including the blinds!!!
It’s was a horrible, horrible experience for me, I had bad reaction to the smell, lucky I had allergy meds with me. We tried airing the room, humidifier and other things but it barely helped. Will not recommend if you’re sensitive to scent, it was a nightmare to sleep at night.
Would not stay there again

I’ve been here before and I really love the care and customer service I am given. It is always top notch. Additionally, getting spa services from Dewi is also highly recommended. I’ve had both a massage and mani/pedi and both services were beyond excellent.
For the grounds themselves, gorgeous. I found everything lush and beautiful. A tropical paradise would be an easy description but let’s delve deeper. Every plant had this green that was deep and saturated with its color. And the reds!!! Pop out and felt unreal. And even though everything was lush and ripe, the groundskeepers kept everything clean and well kept.
I find that the location was very central to many things. Walking around seeing the local culture. Shops and places to eat galore. If your idea of traveling is tasting local cuisine, all you would need to do is walk out the front doors and find the local shops there. So many temples to visit. A short 20 min ride to some gorgeous rice patties ( very instagramable ).
Additionally!!!! Dewi introduced me to her brother, who is a local tour guide driver in Bali and I use him all the time now.
I’m on my 3rd trip here and Dewa is an excellent resource. He picks me up from the airport and drops me off at the hotel. He’ll take me to whatever location I need to go to.
I would highly recommend the Rama Phala.
If I were to give a negative, they went from a buffet style breakfast to a small menu. And even though the menu is excellent, I prefer the buffet style.

We enjoyed our three night stay in December. It is centrally located near the Monkey Forest in Ubud, with short trip to Ubud attractions. Lots of shopping and dining options. We had a nice spa experience thanks to Puspa and Desi. We enjoyed our daily breakfast and the staff is friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights with 2 young kids, the property was clean and tidy. The rooms probably need some renovations in the toilets. The overall stay in the property was satisfactory. The staff were very warm and friendly. The only thing to take note is if you are booking 2 rooms ensure its in the same level, I was given rooms in two levels as a villa, with kids it was difficult to manage rooms in different levels, while booking this was not clear.

10/10 for the pool and location with loads of restaurants walking distance. Be careful when booking \"double or twin\" room as twin will be the default. When checking in I was told the beds were pushed together to make a double but they weren't as and had to ask again. Once the beds were together it was impossible to reach the lamp switch and there was only one bedside lamp/table. The bed was comfortable but linen and towels very old and worn.
The semi outdoor bathroom was pretty, but be warned this welcomes lots of friendly bugs and there is no mosquito net to sleep in.
Another pain is that the toilet seat does not stay up unless jammed under the bench, and then you can't reach the flush button. Also, the toilet paper is so close to the floor it's hard to reach.
I know all these problem seem small, but when you add them up I was disappointed in this well rated hotel.

Great location and great price for what we got. The hotel was very friendly, very clean, staff were incredible, room was spacious and nice, bathroom was large and outdoors, and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was average but we were in central Ubud and food was all around us.

I LOVED the location, the room, the bed. the bathroom. the available amenities including a great pool. The staff always smiling. Very walkable area.
My two comments for improvement: the food. Sub-standard.. The breakfast, at higher than average price, at the sarting time of 07:00, was cold. What I thought was a microwave, to heat it, was a toaster oven for bread and pastries. The other need for improvement is the staff being very social with each other, thus being unavailable to the guests. I had it happen at reception once, when I needed my keys an6.d the staff, several people, where behind a semi closed door. Another time, in the dining room, they were sitting on the floor, behind the counter, not visible to the guests
Overal though, I loved my stay. Originally booked for 6 nights, I extended to 10.

My only negative comment, which I have already voiced, is thatcstaff are overly social with each other and, at times not mindful of the needs of guests. More than once I had to look for a staff member, because despite the pool chairs being empty, there were no pads on them and the used towels had not been picked up. An other example is coming to the desk and finding the staff behind semi closed doors without someone to respond to a guest.

We loved our stay here. It was an oasis amid the busyness of Ubud. The grounds and pool were beautiful, the staff extremely obliging. Breakfast was very good and the outlook over the pool area was very relaxing.
I know we would easily make the decision to stay here again.

AMAZING Central location yet SO QUIET, you cannot hear any traffic noise at all. Only birds chirping and squirrels playing in the trees! WALK to Monkey Forest, Local Markets, and surrounded by many Excellent Restaurants, Convenient Stores, Grocery Stores, etc.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating and keeps the property in immaculate condition.

We loved our stay at Rama Phala! The property is gorgeous and the staff incredibly kind. We accidentally did not book the last night we needed and was alerted by the gentleman at the front desk who kindly helped us into another room that was open for that evening. House keeping even moved our bags for us while we were out on a tour. Overall, the entire experience was relaxing and the resort peacefully quiet. A great little retreat in the middle of things.

It was simple and comfortable. Laundry service was efficient. The breakfast was adequate but became boring with a longer stay. Lovely pool. Water refill in the restaurant area was a convenient addition. Staff is very sweet and efficient. Pretty location, away from the crowds, feel like you have stepped into an oasis of peace and quiet.

Convenient close to everything, Spacious rooms, swimming pool is food, breakfast is okey. Checkin is okey.
Just the constant same music at the restaurant is a bit repetitive and feels like it's sending you in a trance. Appreciate the local music, but vary the sound/music. It's been playing from 6 am to afternoon, our room is close to the restaurant that the music was driving us insane.

Smaller resort, very central location. On a busy main road but once you're into the grounds, you don't hear the traffic. The room we stayed in was beautiful and spacious. Lovely staff who were always very helpful. Loved the partly open air shower. Would definitely stay there again,

The location of this property is ideal. It’s nestled on a popular, touristy street just a 3 min walk to Monkey Forest. The staff was super friendly. The AC worked really well. The breakfast buffet was decent. The pool was under renovation but we were offered the option to go swim at the sister hotel nearby. For the price, the family room suited us fine. We parents were downstairs & our 3 kids (11,14,16) were upstairs in separate room.

Good for families, easy access to Monkey Forest

My wife and two children (ages 10 and 7) and I spent one night in the Rama Phala Resort in Ubud. Overall, it was a very positive experience. We had a two room family suite, which in actuality was more like a two bedroom villa with two large bedrooms, a large common room, and a large courtyard. The only complaint with the rooms was a lack of electrical sockets - there was only one accessible in each bedroom.

The hotel is on a very busy street in the heart of Ubud, which is both good and bad. It was good in that it was easy walking distance to many restaurants and even to the Monkey Forest (highly recommended, by the way); it was bad if you are expecting a nice, tranquil locale. That being said, we could not hear any street noise whatsoever once we were into the hotel property. The pool and spa were both fine, not terrific but nothing to complain about either. The breakfast was \"ok\" and of a normal standard for small hotels in Indonesia.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience and would certainly visit the Rama Phala Resort again.

Pros - The hotel staff are lovely and they respond quickly. The pool is nice and the grounds are private and well groomed. Breakfast was good. Location is pretty good, but still a little further from core than other places. Convenience store across the road, which is nice.

Cons - Our first room had a broken toilet and then a lamp needed to be fixed immediately after turning it on. We switched rooms and took one on the second floor. In this room, the AC unit leaked water all over the floor. Tried to fix but it kept leaking. The toilet, tub and sink were stained and quite dated and the bathroom is entirely outside, so expect a few bugs. Drying off after pool will leave towels a little yellow, so be wary of that...something to do with chemicals they use.

Overall I'd say it was a decent experience, but I'm not sure it was good value for money. We paid a little more for this place than some others, and obviously expected a little more

Lovely hotel

We stayed at Rama Phala for 2 nights before we went off to a more quiet part of Bali. From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They took our bags to the room for us (which was welcomed after an 18 hour flight from the UK) and showed us around the hotel so that we knew where everything was.

The room itself was very comfortable and we both got a great nights sleep. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was very powerful and easy to set to your desired temperature.

We had breakfast in the hotel both days and dinner one evening and were were impressed with the choice and value for money.

Ubud itself we weren't overly impressed with but the hotel gets 10 out of 10.

Very Bad Experience

I had stayed here in 2012 and really enjoyed my stay so I was very excited about staying here again. Big mistake. Rented a villa and there was no hot water. The hotel receptionist’s solution was to stay out our villa and just go to another villa to shower. Are you kidding me? The place was practically empty and they could not just put us up in another villa? When they finally did, the villa they put us in smelled like mold and in order to take a shower you had to jump over a bathtub. What a strange place. And I found a hair in my breakfast to top it all off. Do not recommend at all.

Staff were friendly and attentive and accommodation was as expected for 3 star hotel. Breakfast was very average, but again you get what you pay for, so no complaints really. Gardens were beautiful and very well kept. Spa was very expensive in comparison to other excellent local spas, so did not try it. I booked this hotel for it's proximity to the yoga barn, so a good choice if yoga's your thing.
