Unique property in a colonial Honduran town. The only challenge is that the streets are cobblestone, steep, and narrow. Be ready for this. The hotel was great, traditio al delicious Honduran breakfast, very nice owner/staff, and very clean. Not a cookie cutter place to stay - highly recommended. Near the Macaw Park, and Copan Ruins.

The room was confortable and clean with a nice balcony overlooking the forest. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful to keep you going all day. The hotel sits high on a hill with parking and an easy walk down to the center of town. Copan Ruins are just a few minutes away, flag a Tuctuc to take you.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel La Escalinata recently. Blanca the owner was very friendly and keeps up with current events. I enjoyed talking to her. We had an issue with the AC one night but it was quickly fixed. I will stay at this hotel next time I visit Copán Ruinas. Also the view from the room was nice.

Blanca, the owner is an excellent host. She prepared us delicious breakfast, and the room was very clean and you feel at home.
She us very friendly and we had very nice conversations with her. We totally recommend this hotel and has a beautiful scenery like a postcard!

What a nice little hotel this was! I stayed here with 5 family members recently on a visit to Copan Ruinas. The room was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary traditional breakfast was made fresh each morning and was delicious. Many thanks to the owner Blanca who was very accommodating and even waited up until 1:00 AM to check us in after bad traffic from Tegucigalpa turned our 8 hour drive into a 15 hour one. Offering a low room rate, great service and a great location make this a recommended stay for me.

Definitely did not live up to the property ratings on Expedia.

Massively overpriced for what is essentially a basic property. Rooms were adequate but very basic, albeit clean.

The property is adequate (2.5 stars) with the back terrace and breakfast service bringing it up to 3 stars.

Blanca was amazing she went above and beyond to help she made our reservations at luna jaguar, recommended a great restaurant cafe via via, and was nice enough to let us put my father in laws insulin in the fridge. The room waa very clean and it was a great price i think we had the best room with a balcony in the front 😊 AC worked very well and my favorite HOT water! Almost stayed at Hacienda San Lucas but im glad we didn't this hotel is in a very good area with easy walking access to restaurants and stores with typical honduran clothing, purses, jewelry, etc. Highly recommend.

The sheets on one bed were dirty, they had a bad smell of pipi, there were no towels in my room, the soap that was used and full of hair and it was not soap, they were bits of recycled soap.

Attention well, the owner is a bit pedantic, kind but forcibly.

Owner is a very interesting lady who is developing the property in the heart of the old town, with a beautiful garden area looking out on the country in transition. Room is spartan but clean and double beds are good. Breakfast was all made from “scratch”; excellent pancakes!

Management was awesome!

We highly recommend this hotel. The management assisted with all the things to see and do in Copan, helped arrange transportation to our next stop, and was overall really informative and helpful. Rooms are clean with ac and WiFi. Perfect for backpackers.

Buena Vista a Copán

There may be an exceptional view of the hills of Copán from the balconies of Hotel La Escalinata, but the superb, clean rooms and the more than substantial breakfasts make the view’s celebration both more peaceful and beautiful. Blanca is a host with a particularly sensitive understanding of what folks need – particularly on their first night’s visit to Copán Ruinas. This hotel is up the hill from town, so there is no need for stair-walking gym work. However, once you arrive you realize you’ve arrived at a place of grace, good desayuno, and a gorgeous view of the Honduras hillsides. You’ve come to the right place. Blanca is a gem.

Nicest and most efficient owner ever

The owner/operator of this hotel is a really nice woman. She gave me local information and directions and served as a translator for me when I had to have a rather complicated exchange with the phone company. She was always ready to help and advise and booked a daytrip for me. The breakfasts were great, the view from my room was excellent and my room was comfortable. It was also a nice short hike uphill to get there or one could also use a 'taxi' for very little. I stayed for two nights.

Bed and Breakfast Hotel. Very relaxing. Nice neighborhood. Local family groceries a few feet away. Market and Local Crafts a few blocks away. Nice walks around town. Delicious local and international restaurants a few block away. Very economical area. Hotel was a great value. Breakfast was wonderful and different each morning.

Excellent location with great views of the city of Copan Ruinas and the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was very good with a different variety each day. Wifi worked well. Constant supply of hot or cold water in a large bottled container in the lobby area. Owner was very helpful and friendly.

I only stayed 2 nights in copan.. After the first nights stay at this hotel I wanted to stay longer. Beautiful views in the more quieter part of town . The breakfast was the best I've had while traveling in Honduras . Anyone traveling thru this area needs to experience the comfort and hospitality This hotel provides. Thanks Blanca!

Nice hotel with a good view of the trees and hills

The owner was friendly and smiles a lot. Most helpful in confirming my onward arrangements in San Pedro Sula. I had no adapter to charge my camera's battery. Owner suggested that I visit the shop called "video 2000". They had the right adapter, which made me a very happy soul. Every afternoon, the owner enquired about my day's activity. At least, she took an interest. The owner has spent 25 years in the US, so can speak English.

Great base in Copan!

Great little hotel with amazing views in Copan. If you are looking for the Ritz this is not the spot but if you want a clean, secure, comfy spot with good hot water and WIFI look no further. Blanca is a fantastic host and went well beyond to help us with any requests.

Good location in town, superb staff, overall nice

We stayed here for Semana Santa and had a great time. The owner/manager and her staff were very friendly and accomodated all our need. The rooms were exactly as described and the patio views were beautiful. Breakfast was prepared fresh each day and we enjoyed the food. The manager helped us arrange a really nice horseback ride that we also enjoyed. No A/C in the rooms, but a nice breeze kept things cool during the evening.

La Escalinata, Copan Ruinas

Very pleased with my stay at La Escalinata, friendly welcoming owner, Blanca, who speaks Spanish and English having lived in the US for a while. Choice of rooms when I arrived, both with exterior balconies with extensive views, rooms have ceiling fan and aircon and are very spacious. Big bathroom with constant hot water. Hotel is situated just above town with views down to the central park and church, only a couple of minutes walk down, but uphill coming back. Good breakfast with choice dishes, free wifi with good signal strength, and if you have a car there is a gated driveway at the side.
