We used to come here twice a year. They recently changed the majority of their staff, and to be honest new staff are rude and un accommodating. They used to have such great staff and the remaining ones that we know by name are holding the hotel together. But as they expand, I feel that this is a hotel we will not be returning to. It’s unfortunate as we probably visited over a dozen times since 2020 and stayed close to 30 nights. Sad we will not be returning after many happy trips to the magnolia but there are so many better boutique hotels nearby that we suggest you try.

It’s unfortunate that their staff has changed from the wonderful team they had before, the rooms are in poor condition and you can see the wear and tear on the facility itself. It seems like they were constantly shortstaffed as well in the restaurant and we tried to get reservations to the new restaurant, but the hotel and the new restaurant are not owned by the same organization so when the hotel said we had a reservation, we innocence didn’t and had to fend for ourselves. We re-booked and they did this to us again so much so that the Chef at the new restaurant felt so bad he purchased us dinner at the hotel owned restaurant . embarrassing when I was hosting in-laws, and ridiculous that the hotel cannot make a reservation or you cannot rely on them to make one. Very disappointed as the previous team would not have dropped the ball like this.

Magnolia is one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. It’s design is a gorgeous yet unusual mix of modern and traditional. The rooms are very comfortably sized and appointed. The food is excellent. The service is superb. There is nothing not to like about this hotel.

We had a lovely stay. Location was central to sites we enjoyed (we love walking as we explore a city). Close to start of free walking tour, museums (including Naruda’s home) and other fun spots. We also found some great food in the Listarria area. Gelato across street was perfection.

I highly recommend Hotel Magnolia…it is a very special boutique hotel and a new favorite of mine! The style of the hotel is truly unique and beautiful; it maintains much of the architecture of the original mansion built in 1929 and adds a new, innovative, bold, modern design. My room was spacious, elegant and comfortable. The hotel is well located and convenient to many sights and dining options. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, The only small issue was that there was only one receptionist and no concierge in the mornings during the 3 days of my stay, and that did not seem to be enough to adequately handle arrivals, departures, and other assistance needed by guests.
I definitely would like to stay at this hotel again and hope to do so in the future!

I absolutely loved this hotel. The location is perfect with a short stroll to restaurants, Santa Lucia and great restaurants. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and really comfy. I slept so well. I returned here for a second stay on my way back from Brazil.

It is a very cool historic property that’s been upgraded with a contemporary addition. The concept is terrific, and the staff is very attentive, but seems like the mechanical infrastructure is getting a little tired. Our heating and cooling system never worked during our stay, though they brought us a floor fan. Also, the hot water seemed to fluctuate quite a bit. Both the in-house restaurant and Demo (the fancy restaurant on premise) are both very good Bottom line, we still enjoyed our stay, but some additional maintenance to the facility would probably go along way and give it a full five star rating

Top notch. From the beautiful hotel, to the staff, to the comfortable rooms. The room was quiet and the area felt safe and walkable with several great restaurants in the area. Also, convenient to the airport. We had happy hour on the roof top and then breakfast (included) in the morning. They also have a minibar in the library for you to sit and relax with. I would recommend and cannot wait to come back. The staff really stood out!

It was a good choice as it was convenient to our walking tours and restaurants. The hotel was clean although the AC inside our room was a bit warm even though we ask for the temperature to be lowered.
The front desk and staff were very kind and helpful. We did however, have an issue with the hotel charging $125 a person for their New Year’s party which was on the rooftop but had the basic food menu for dinner.
Since there is not a fireworks display in Santiago and most places around town shut down early , we felt the hotel was taking advantage of its guests. Pair that with the event coordinator, who was extremely rude and pushy, then I would say it ruined what was otherwise a nice week stay.

Service was excellent in all aspects, from arranging transport from airport to rooftop bar/restaurant. Room was comfortable, shower good and provided a breakfast box as we were leaving early to airport. They are minding our bags until we return from Easter Island in 4 days time. Hotel Magnolia is a gem of a hotel. The building has beautiful touches all around.The staff were helpful and friendly (answering our questions before we checked in). The rooms were the three Cs - cozy, comfortable and clean. At times, the lighting was moody / dark but it adds to the vibe of the place. The location is great as you can walk to museums, restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included and it was decent. However the on site restaurant dinner options were delicious.

Without question one of the most pleasant hotel experiences I have had in quite some time. Every associate was either great or exceptional. When you travel often, nearly every hotel looks the same... and this was very unique. Without question my go-to property in Santiago.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Magnolia. The staff were excellent, well-trained and probably the highlight of the hotel - Ariel at the reception, Diego at breakfast, Gabriel who very kindly helped us catch our airport transport when parking for them was tricky...and all the others as well. Unlike almost all other hotels we stayed at in Chile, here it felt that they understood what hospitality really is and that small gestures matter a lot.
The hotel's building is really nice and we enjoyed having breakfast in the atrium and even just spending time in the lobby.
The only \"negative\" - but not the hotel's fault in any way - were the surroundings at night, which did not feel inviting for a walk after sunset (but felt completely safe during the day).

Nice enough, but not exceptional. I went because it had very high ratings but it simply isn’t exceptional. Room was comfortable enough - about average for its class - service and food were very average. Breakfast was a limited, average, and repetitive buffet. Small room that filled up quickly so no place to sit some days. No perks, just nothing very special. At that price point there are very good hotels nearby.

The staff are exceptional. Rangiroa Tuki is an excellent concierge. He was extremely helpful in securing tours to Santa Rita winery and Valparaiso. This boutique hotel is centrally located with restaurants two blocks away. I highly recommend this hotel.

Too Noisy
We were given Room 68. Beautiful room, but unfortunately we could hear the elevator humming all night and the kitchen staff clinging dishes and talking like they were in our room. This went on until 1:10am, on a day that we had to get up early and really needed our sleep. We complained (that night) and again in the morning. The hotel did move our room and give us a bottle of wine for our troubles, but I feel they should have comped the night, or at least part of the night. We've all had those nightmare hotel stays where the people next to you keep you up, but coming from the hotel itself was unacceptable. I sent them an email upon our return, letting them know they did not do enough, and they did not respond. Other than this issue, it's a very nice hotel, well located, with a cozy roof-top restaurant.

The Magnolia is a charming looking boutique hotel in a good location. However the hotel's aim to be stylish and chic is, to some extent, at the cost of practicality. We had a reasonable size room but the lighting was terrible, no USB ports, only a few hangers, a shower set up which sprayed the rest of the bathroom, sink stopper didn't work, no info in the room about the hotel and one working channel on the TV! Check in not very welcoming. The rest of the staff were great and the Terrace restaurant was lovely. So, some good some bad.
