I was upgraded to a capacious room. BUT bed and TV were up a long steep staircase with a handrail hard to grasp. No bath upstairs. So during the night 3 arduous trips up & down. I’m almost 80. Bad hips.

Vi havde booked Loft Garden suite. Dejlig stor suite med gode siddepladser, sengen var behageligt at sove i, virkelig flot indretning og spa-fornemmelse på badeværelset. Personalet var smilede og god service. Vi havde en fødselar, hvilket personalet var opmærksomme på og gjorde lidt ekstra ud af det med en lille fødselsdagskage og bobler.
Poolområdet var roligt, dejligt sted at slappe af. Vi brugte en del timer dernede. Eneste ting som kunne være anderledes var, at poolen gerne måtte være opvarmet, den var lige kold nok om vinteren. Ellers et helt fantastisk og afslappende ophold, hvor der generelt var en rolig og behagelig på hotellet.

Das Familienzimmer mit kleinem abgetrennten Kinderzimmer war perfekt. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das hervorragende Frühstück (alles inklusive von frischen Obstsaft, Smoothies, Eggs Benedict etc). Es gibt Hotels, die in dieser Preisklasse trotzdem noch mal beim Frühstück extra ab kassieren möchten. Das James hat seinen Preis, der jedoch auch sehr viel bietet.

I have visited Das James before, and I have always loved it. This time the temperature at the pool was colder than normal, and it was way to cold to swim outside, which is part of the spa experience. When I went to the ladies sauna, I had to go and ask the staff to turn it on, and wait 20 min till it was ready. At my arrival, the service wasn’t very good, both at the reception and the bar, and this is such a shame, because the service use to be over the top. So, this time a dissapointing stay I have to say. But the food is always great.

Fuldstændig fantastisk hotel. Sikke en modtagelse vi fik i receptionen. Hver gang vi gik forbi en ansat på hotellet, blev der sag meget høfligt goddag. Vi fik et skønt stort værelse med udsigt over havnen, med en lille altan man kunne stå ud på, ikke så meget plads, men fint til lige at blive luftet. Hotellet havde en fin bar og som vi lige kunne se det, var der 3 restauranter. Den ene havde en Michelin stjerne, en var japansk, vi tog den sidste Farmerhouse James, hvor vi fik BBQ buffet, det er vi normalt ikke vilde med, men det var det de havde den dag. Vi må sige det var meget lækkert, der var alt og det var sat meget smagfuld op, så det ikke var kaotisk, som en buffet nogen gange er.
Så alt i alt, vi vender gerne tilbage.
Til morgenmad var der alt hvad hjertet kan begære.
I øvrigt er hotellet lavet i en gammel torpedo fabrik, virkelig flot lavet, hvor der er stil over det hele og alligevel kan man i loftet se de gamle sveller.
Ps. Da vi kun havde én dag og ankom ret sent, fik vi ikke nydt SPA’en som ellers var med i prisen.

Man føler sig meget velkomne, når man kommer til hotellet. Man får velkomst sekt og kager på værelset. Faciliteterne er gode, dog er SPA’en lidt lille og kedelig, ikke så mange bade. Værelset meget fint. Lækker mad og service i restauranten, både Farm House og excellent morgenmad, der kunne nydes på solrig terrasse i læ.
Vi vil vende tilbage og prøve “Das Grace” restauranten, som desværre ikke er åben hver aften.

I had a great stay at Das James. The hotel is beautifully designed, combining elegance with a modern and welcoming atmosphere. My room was spacious, stylish, and clean, with high-quality amenities and thoughtful details throughout. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional at every turn. The breakfast was outstanding, and the dinner was good (but not very good). Throughout my stay, everything felt well-organized and cared for.
The only small downsides were that the AC wasn’t as powerful as one would prefer when the outside temperature is above 30 degrees and that the soundproofing in my room wasn’t perfect. I could occasionally hear noises from the hallway or neighboring rooms.
Overall, Das James is a top-tier hotel that I would gladly return to. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing hotel stay. Absolutely perfect for a writing retreat!

Weekend get away
We visited Das James for a weekend get away and we loved every minute of it. We where two adults and our baby boy and we felt so welcome from the second we arrived to we left again. The room and spa area was amazing (small minus that a mistake happens and the kids spa wasn’t heated but was managed very well!). We enjoyed both rooms service and the James farmhouse restaurant and the food was so delicious. This was our first vist but for not our last!

Wir haben ein verlängertes Wochenende in dem Hotel verbracht und es war hervorragend - von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute. Es stimmt einfach alles - sehr gutes Abendessen, tolles Frühstück, saubere und schöne Zimmer, edles Ambiente und sehr schöner Wellnessbereich. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Det var vores fjerde gang på Das James. Som altid træder man ind i en anden verden. Den er fyldt med luksus og forkælelse. Der kan være lidt crowded omkring poolen, men så kan man prøve at gå en etage ned og se, om der er ledige senge.
Værelser, senge, morgenmad - alt er deres fem stjerner værdigt.
Eneste minus var, at der denne gang var børn under 14 i rooftop pool. En af årsagerne til at vi elsker at komme på dette hotel er netop, rooftop pool for voksne. Der er en pool for børn på første etage - og personalet bør henvise til denne.
