There was building work on the floor above us and also outside the front area. It would have been nice if they had informed us of this prior to our visit. The noise above us was terrible with constant banging and drilling and went on until 7pm in the evening.

This is a stunning hotel. 5 stars in all areas. It is part of the Parador chain which is similar to the National Trust in England. The building itself is historic and features unique spaces for resting, having a drink or eating. The rooms are tastefully decorated and include tea making facilities and a mini bar. The air conditioning works perfectly. The pool is situated in the lower part of the estate. It is adjacent to a bar area that serves drinks, and there is friendly pool guard who is around all day. Parking is very close to the property and is free of charge. The views from all the rooms are breathtaking. What a memorable stay!

Lovely Muslim Castle

Lovely Parador at the very top of the hill. It used to be a castle. Check in was smooth and fast and the gentleman at reception was very helpful. Our room wasn’t too large, but very bright, clean, and with a gorgeous view! The Parador was all in moorish style, the dining room was beautiful, and the food was very good! There’s ample parking in their premises. Will recommend it for sure to anyone visiting this Andalucía area!

Lovely Muslim Castle

Lovely Parador at the very top of the hill. It used to be a Muslim castle. Check in was smooth and fast and the gentleman at reception was very helpful. Our room wasn’t too large, but very bright, clean, and with a gorgeous view! The Parador was all in moorish style, the dining room was beautiful, and the food was very good! There’s ample parking in their premises. Will recommend it for sure to anyone visiting this Andalucía area!

the hotel seems to have a problem with staffing. For example the bar had only one person assigned to serve over 50 patrons in the cocktail hour before dinner. While they tried their best it was not realistic to expect proper service. Similarly the dinner service seemed to have the same problem. We had been at this parador in the past and service was impeccable. a disappointment this time.

Great setting, spectacular views (especially from our balcony). A real experience to stay in such a property, with interesting common areas and period bedrooms.

Service was efficient and pleasant. On-site parking was a real plus compared with other properties we stayed in in Andalucia.

Only slight negative was that the food was not quite up to expectations (in particular the cooked options for breakfast were limited).

Beautiful property with an interesting history. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth it. The pool area was nice, would have been great if they had a jacuzzi also. Rooms were nice and dark.

The only reason I am not giving this a higher review is because online the photos of the standard rooms appear to have a balcony or at least a large window. The first room we were given had a shoebox-sized window. We went back to the front and had to upgrade to a superior room for $30 more a night in order to get a non-dungeon-like room with a balcony. Just be aware when booking.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The view from our lovely and spacious room was absolutely breathtaking. The pool was great but make sure you don't forget anything in your room ~ it's a long climb up & down from the Parador. Loved the breakfast bar - delicious sausage, cheese, trout lox, prosecco and much more. The walk to town is not far or difficult - it also allows you to see the culture and the sidewalk cafes are very authentic and good. I would highly recommend staying here!!

The hotel is beautiful, but I was disappointed. The mattress and the pillows were very hard, not a good sleep. The breakfast buffet at $25 per person, was not up to the price. Limited selection, would have expected more from this hotel. Service? You can tell that they were short staffed. In the dining area only a few service members and tables that were not cleaned because they could not get to it. Service in the bar area was much the same. They did not serve and you had to wait in line to purchase a night cap. Very disappointed, I was expecting so much more. Also, we stayed at the Parador de Ronda, and compared what we got as bathroom toiletries, Ronda wins hands down. Missing in Carmona, bathrobes, slippers, bath sponge, sewing kit, qtips, etc.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. However we had planned to have a relaxing day at the hotel by the pool and we’re informed when we arrived the pool was closed for the season. This was very unfortunate given the main photo on the ad shows a big pool and nowhere on the website did it mention it closed. Also, apparently nothing in the town is open on Tuesday nights for dinner which forced us to eat at the hotel. It was the worst meal I have eaten anywhere in Spain. Also the most expensive so it was extra disappointing. Breakfast was decent. Lots of options available. The staff at the hotel were all lovely. The property is kept very clean and is such a beatifiul space with great views. The rooms were large and comfortable. Our stay would have been perfect if the pool was available and if we had eaten dinner somewhere off the hotel.

The building itself is stunning, with outstanding views. Roons are good. Stayed here in 2019 also, and was a little disappointed that standards have slipped a little . Not enough staff at breakfast, had to wait too long for coffee and hot options. Service around the pool area was poor. Most items from bar unavailable . The quality of food does not match the rating of this hotel. Also, what has happened to the pads for the sun loungers and the fresh fruits treats.
Overall was lacking the excellent service and extras we have received previously and expected from this hotel.

We stayed at this Parador for 7 nights which, from observation only, seems a little
unusual as there was regular turnover. It has an impressive situation in the town, when you see it from the road and driving in through the gate. The room was very clean and comfortable with a great view over the plains. We were left complimentary water and cake, or dried fruits, one day a bottle of wine every day which was a nice touch. The staff were very efficient and friendly. We had breakfast every day, strange operation the first day, but after that a regular buffet with all the guests using their own tongs to help themselves plus a hot food table service. The food was excellent. We ate one dinner there but as I don’t eat meat we ate elsewhere for variety. It is a popular place for visitors to Carmona to visit even if they are not staying as the balcony, courtyard and lounge are very enticing. Carmona itself was also an interesting place to visit. The Tourist Office were extremely helpful and there are a few places of interest to visit. If we were to stay again we would request a room in the 4th floor with a balcony just to be able to sit outside and admire the view… our room on the 3rd floor had a Juliette balcony which worked well too.

We stayed here for one night. Tricky route to drive to the hotel if you miss one of the turnings in the town. Narrow streets for a big car. Amazing building - a castle converted into a hotel. Stone floors big wooden doors and shutters, mosaic tiling and high ceilings. Very comfy beds with quite hard mattresses (which I like) and soft pillows. Soft towels. There is a table, chairs, desk and fridge in the room. Good air conditioning. There is a feeling of opulence and a strong sense of history. Great experience and a nice change to a modern hotel. Lovely views across the fields. We did not eat in the hotel or use the swimming pool but I can imagine that they are of a high standard. Parking is at front of hotel with some parking spots covered from the sun.

The hotel itself has a great location for the view BUT it is isolated from the town, so it is difficult to get out for a drink or meal. We felt a bit captive and had to pay a high price for a meal, since it was simply not practical to go into the town for dinner. Also, the air con did not work in our room.

落ち着いた内装で、ベランダに出るドアが印象的です。アルハンブラ宮殿に似たようなドアがありました。
最上階で、比較的広いベランダが付いていて、遠くに広がる水平線が素晴らしいです。
外から見ると下のフロアの部屋は窓が小さく見えました。
夕食はルームサービスにしました。日が暮れるのをみながらの食事は最高でした。
料金はワインを一本入れて一人五千円ちょっとでした。
都内のちょっとしたレストランより安いです。
味の方もかなり美味しいです。メインにチキンを頼みましたが、今まで食べたチキンで一番美味しいかも。
バーやレストランの内装も高級感があってとてもいい感じです。建物やプールも美しいし、泊まること自体がアトラクションでした。
駐車場はホテル前で広いです。
行くときは車が停めてあって狭いところもありますが、帰りは広いです。

This place is exquisite. You feel like you're a guest of history. The building is ancient and the grounds are gorgeous. We had a balcony with lovely views of the hills, and enjoyed lounging by the pool, sipping coffee in the courtyard, and having drinks on the terrace. Everything was beautiful, especially the dining room with its soaring ceiling. The service was great, too, and I almost forgot to mention it because I was so blown away by the setting.

Great one night stop. The view from the terrace whilst having a drink makes the visit quite memorable. The bar staff are attentive and helpful.
We were disappointed the pool was closed even though the weather was warm and as a keen swimmer it was one of the main reasons for staying here for 3 nights. Not being able to experience the pool and gardens does somewhat limit what one can do due to limited outdoor space.
The restaurant is a bit formal for us and the food could be more contemporary. As a result we ate there just one night out of three.

Spectacular setting but not a 4 star rating.

The setting of the parador was spectacular and therefore worth one night stay. The town of Carmora was charming and worth visiting. The hotel itself was fine however the level of service was well below average. The staff including the reception/concierge were accommodating but not welcoming. The \"superior\" room was clean but extremely dated compared to other 4 star hotels (worn furnishings) so certainly not worth the room cost above $300US per night. Service at the restaurant was subpar as we waited 30 minutes to have our order taken for dinner. Only after we started to leave, did we receive their attention. Breakfast however was excellent but this did not require much service as it was buffet style. The outdoor pool was a delight.

Amazing hotel in the clouds!

This Parador hotel is situated on the edge of an escarpment that overlooks a very large fertile plain. When we awakened on our first morning, we were above the cloud layer and the plain was bathed in fog that we were able to enjoy from our balcony. From a distance the Parador is an imposing castle at the top of the rise and it is quite the experience entering the double stone gates. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and very modern, despite the age of the original stone facility. We ate at the Parador restaurant on the first night and had breakfasts both mornings. The food was excellent and generous. The only surprise is that it is almost an hour outside Sevilla. A wonderful stay and enjoy Carmona – it is worth the time.

You have a real sense of history before you arrive at the hotel. Passing through the lovely town below the hotel - just be careful to follow the Parador hotel signs and you should not have a problem.
The hotel has a real sense of history with ruins of a moorish fort beside. You enter the parking area through a piece of the old walls. The views from the hotel are truly breathtaking and magical with the hotel set at the top of the town looking across the fertile plains as far as the eye can see. The bedroom was very comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom while very clean was a little tired in need of a little decoration.
Overall a great hotel to explore the area including the Roman ruins/necropolis in the town.

Good Parador -Pool access challenging for disabled

The Parador itself is another wonderful example of tasteful modernisation. We had a standard room which was tastefully furnished and adequately large.
The restaurant is good and the menu offers a wide selection of dishes. It is a shame that the menu does not vary from day to day.
The swimming pool is large and well laid out. That said access to the pool is by a long winding out door staircase which descends several flights. There is no wheelchair access - hence the title of this review.
The breakfast selection is good - but the selection available from the buffet could be improved.
There is ample open air parking for those travelling by car.
Somewhat disappointing and annoying was our check-out experience. The receptionist was far more interested in chatting to her colleagues rather than focusing on her clients. We were presented with out check-out bill. No questions. No \"how was your stay\". No thank you nor good bye. CARMEN could do with some retraining I think !!!!
