Do not let the exterior fool you. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are relatively spacious compared to other European hotel rooms, you have a private bath, there's no a/c but the windows open and there's a fan. The breakfast buffet was minimalist, but there is a communal kitchen to which you have access 24/7. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is located a block from a grocery store and less than a mile from Gamla Stan. The hostess is incredibly friendly. I cannot say enough good things about our stay there.

This property suited our needs for an overnight stay. Parking was easy and convenient. They offered a breakfast buffet in the morning that was nice. The room was clean, as was the property. We never interacted with anyone, so if we had any questions, it might have been difficult. The area around the hotel seemed commercial, but we were just there for an overnight stay for nearby visit.

Great location and quiet. 15min walk to the castle and the city center. Good breakfast to start the day. Plenty of free parking. Perfect for those who won't be spending a lot of time in the room and just need a place to sleep and a good continental breakfast to start the day.

The location was about a 20 minute walk from the train station and so if have no car, should be aware of this. The desk was unmanned during the evening and there was no shower hot water in the morning. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Although the room was small, it was comfortable and had a fan which was a nice addition during the recent heat wave.

The hotel is great value for the money. When leaving the hotel, I needed to call a taxi and was surprised when the employee on duties that morning did not know the number to the local taxi station (the only one in Kalmar, I learned).

Very clean hostel - common kitchen, separate room. We went there in spring and there were only a few people in the whole place and it was lovely. Breakfast was great. Free parking.

Good option

We had a good stay here, the place is bright and clean, the room had a nice desk and was very quiet, breakfast was nice... The only difficulty is that reception operates very reduced hours, basically check in starts at 15:00 (we were told that rooms may not be ready before then!) but staff leaves at 16:00.

Ønsker du å bo på et hotell litt utenfor sentrum, er dette perfekt. Hotellet er ubetjent etter frokost, men har fasiliteter som kjøkken med kjøl og frys og komfyr. Frokosten er enkel, men mer enn nok. Gratis parkering og det er også tilgang til elbillader. Vi er fornøyd og har overnattet dere flere ganger.

Hotellet är helt okej och man får det man betalar för. Stort plus för gratis parkering.
Rummen är i normal standard och allt du behöver finns i dem. Litet minus för något spartansk frukost samt att det bara finns tre fungerande kanaler på tv:n.
Dock kommer jag absolut att nyttja detta ställe flera gånger då priset är absolut överkomligt.

Vi saknade att det inte fanns toalett o dusch på rummet, främst toalett, detta hade vi totalt missat om det ens fanns ngn info om detta, förutsåg väl att det var standard
Frukosten var helt ok , fanns det mesta och rent snyggt o fräscht var det. Den personal man ev träffade var trevlig
En liten karta med de restauranger som finns inom stadskärnan m gångavstånd hade uppskattats.

Oron för icke-bemannad reception stillades efter informativt samtal om rutinerna för incheckning mm. Positivt med \"gäst-kök\" och tillgång till kyl/frys och mikro. Rent och fräscht rum. Varmt, men fläkt fanns! Välskött frukost utan frosseri! Priset i högsta laget.

Rent och helt ok standard men frukosten väldigt tråkig. Dock väldigt varmt på rummet. Fläkt fanns men svårt att sova med den igång. Torra bullar och väldigt basic utbud. Kunde stått att det endast var kontinentalfrukost, men ingen information som jag hittat.

Har bott här vid flera tillfällen, då läget har passat oss. Men har vid flera gånger påtalat att frukosten är väldigt sparsmakad och vid denna gång var den ännu sämre, ex att brödet var fd uppvärmt så den blev som hårt bröd. Dessutom läckte det från taket i duschen. Förväntar sig bättre standard eftersom det inte är ett lågprishotell.

Jättefint litet hotell med utmärkt frukost och fint rum och mycket bra för oss som har en liten hund med oss.Rekommenderas varmt ifall man inte önskar bo mer centralt i Kalmar. Tar ca 20 min till Kalmar slott och gamla stan. Prisvärt.

Ett trevligt och prisvärt boende med smidig incheckning och fräscha rum. Frukosten är enkel men mycket fräscht med många grundläggande alternativ. Mer behövs inte. Det enda lilla lilla synpunkten är att gräset var lite högt precis vid hotellet då vi åt frukost ute i solen men vistelsen var kanon! Återkommer gärna!!

Stort o bra rum. Frukosten utan varm mat vilket jag trodde skulle finnas. Kaffetermosen dålig. Kaffekokare på rummet men inga kex eller dylikt. Lätt att hitta hit men för långt från centrum. Upplysningar om stadsbussarna borde ingå i hotellinformationen. Med tanke på läget och bara kall frukost kunde priset varit lite lägre. o

Billigt och bra

Vi tog en weekend och bokade detta hotell med pentry, föregående gäst var inte den bäst på att diska men vi behövde bara micro och lite större yta så inga problem egentligen.
Hotellet ligger lite utanför men det finns även gratis parkering inne i staden på helgen om man inte vill gå, frukosten var över förväntan så inga klagomål bara positivt på alla nivåer :).

Godt hotel med de nødvendige faciliteter bl.a. adgang til mikrobølgeovn.
Meget fin morgenmad, dog kunne brød udvalget godt være endnu. Matchede ikke de øvrige mange andre muligheder for valg af morgenmad fra buffeten.

Basic and No-frills Hotel

Kalmar Hotell is a no-frill and basic hotel. During my check-in there was no one at the reception. Rather, I was sent instruction on how to open the main door and where to pick up the key. The hotel room is also very simple, clean and basic (tea and coffee is complementary). The breakfast however leaves a lot to be desired. The bread is old and there is not much of an option. The breakfast buffet is very basic and offers mainly cold items. It is a hotel you select if you just want a place to sleep. Location wise it is outside the main city hub, hence it lacks the vibe and atmosphere of other city hotels.

Rent, fräscht och trevligt hotell. Frukostbuffén var enkel men saknade egentligen inget. Glutenfria och veganska alternativ finns. Barnstolar likaså. Väldigt trevlig personal som alltid hade ett leende på läpparna och som gärna busade med min lilla dotter.

Bra placerat med promenadavstånd till stranden och centrum. Bra parkeringsmöjligheter i anslutning till hotellet som är rent och snyggt.
Rummet var fint, nu på sommaren något varmt men det fanns en redig fläkt som gjorde det behagligt. Sängen var mycket bekväm och frukostbuffén suverän. Även de gemensamma utrymmena som toaletter och duschar var rena och fina. Vi kommer tillbaka!

Väldigt enkelt men funktionellt hotell

Väldigt enkelt hotell, mer som vandrarhem än hotell. Enkelt, litet, bunkerliknande rum med en säng, tv och inte så mycket annat.
Dock bra säng, bra luft och fyllde sitt syfte som sovplats. Lugnt på natten.

Nackdel att toa och dusch inte fanns på rummet. Man fick vara väldigt försiktig och komma ihåg att ta med låskortet om man gick på toa för att inte låsa ut sig.
Receptionen är också obemannad största delen av dygnet.

Frukosten var till utbudet bare minimum, men allt som alltid brukar finnas såsom juice, kaffe, bröd och youghurt/fil fanns. Så det var helt ok.

Trädgård och fasad till hotellet kunde behöva ett lyft. Placeringen av hotellet är också vid utkanterna av stan vid industriområdena.

Men vistelsen var helt ok gör mig, som främst använde hotellet som sovplats.
