We had a fantastic stay at Second Wind Country Inn. The building and grounds are beautiful. The owner-operator is sweet and kind; we had a great conversation with Kelly. While some might complain about the lack of television, it was very nice to have weekend unplugged from big media. I highly recommend Second Wind. You're only minutes away from downtown Ashland (and excellent food) and within a short drive of other attractions like Bayfield and the Lake. The country side is gorgeous and the air is fresh. We'll definitely be keeping Second Wind in mind the next time we venture up to Lake Superior.

We came for the Birkie, and LOVED staying in this spacious lovely Inn. Beds were comfy, kitchenette was very functional, and nice open space (windows with lovely with view of land and full moon while we were there).

The hosts were friendly and gave great advice on where to go round Ashland and Bayfield. Our room was very clean and the common area had extra seating and a coffee and reading area. The house is located just a few miles out of town on a small farm set on many acres. A peaceful country setting with beautiful scenery and animals.

For our recent stay at Second Wind, we were thoroughly impressed with the property and the attention to detail that Mark and Kelly brought forth both in its construction and as the current proprietors. The room was quite comfortable, though the bed was a bit firmer than we were used to. What surprised us most was how quiet the room was- this was greatly appreciated. They were gracious hosts and gave us some great tips on things to see and do in the area. We would certainly recommend a stay here, and have it on our short list for our next vacation to the area.

The inn is amazing with gorgeous surroundings and very nice interior rooms. The Innkeepers were extremely nice and interacted with the guests daily and quickly responded to the needs of their guests. Our only disappointment was after reading reviews of great breakfasts at the inn we learned that was no longer included since Covid. There was a very nice gathering room with coffee, tea & hot chocolate and a toaster. Maybe some muffins, bread, bagels would be a nice addition. We will definitely return when visiting the area again

Beautiful and peaceful; the best place our family (5) has ever stayed at. We were here four days/nights in the Lumberjack Suite. There was a full kitchen, had ample provisions and was impeccably decorated. There was an abundance of books and board games to occupy our time. There was no TV and the WiFi was adequate; this was a positive because it limited the temptation to focus on our electronics. Kelli was an amazing hostess; very kind, great communication and responsive to our needs. The field animals were great to watch and the kitties were so fun to play with! I could go on and on.....stay at Second Wind if you want a peaceful, nature-centered home away from home!

We enjoyed almost every part of our visit to Second Wind Inn; however, it didn't offer horeback riding, a continental breakfast or a full or half length mirror to use. Do to its remote nature these things should be reconsidered. It was EMACULATE however and picturesque. The owners were attentive and extremely accommodating. We celebrated an anniversay. I would go back.

We had a great time while we were at Second Wind from the time we arrived to the time we left. We stayed in the Lumberjack Loft. The owners/hosts were concerned with the satisfaction of and all in our group and responded to requests promptly. Great breakfast each morning and though we are generally not the \"Bed and breakfast\" type, we enjoyed the discussion with the other guests and owners. If you are looking for a hotel experience, I guess you can make it that way, but if you want something a little more comfortable, like home, then this just might be your place. One thing i should mention is there is good internet, but no television: we found it a nice break, but some may find this a little distressing. We loved it and will be back.

This is a very beautiful Bed and Breakfast, very clean and cozy rooms, delicious breakfasts and the owners are very welcoming. We enjoyed the farm and all the animals.
