I stayed here a year ago and i returned to have more time to enjoy the amenities and have a villa with a jacuzzi. I would stay here again. There is nothing to do but stay on the property the entire time. One menu, but extensive. An above average breakfast buffet. Stunning scenery. Photogenic terraced swimming pools 2 freezing. One warm (not hot.). Only negatives were the shower water was intermittently hot and the room a/c doesn't have a heating mode which was needed in the mountains in January. The staff, upon request, brought more blankets and a portable electric heater.

Although it was beautiful, there are a lot of drawbacks to staying at this hotel. Firstly, it is so isolated from the city that Grab riders refuse to drive you to the hotel from the city. They accept the ride and then tell you they won’t take you there unless you cancel the ride and pay them double the fare. The food at the hotel is not good, especially considering how isolated it is they should have better quality food available since it’s so hard to get to other options. The spa was extortion — they were charging more than triple in comparison to spas in town. Overall, it was pretty challenging to contact them as a foreigner via whatsapp because they often would take days to respond or not respond at all even when asking questions while staying at the hotel. The property itself was gorgeous however, and we really enjoyed the views. I would not recommend coming here as a foreigner but would be a better experience as a local with a car.

This is a beautiful resort! It’s on a steep property and not always easy to get a transport around the property. Many golf carts, but not always operating them efficiently. If buying soda, stick to the Pepsi at 35 baht vs. the Coca Cola at 110 baht. 😳 All in all amazing property and nice staff.

The views were picturesque, our videos while on site look like something out of a movie. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, arranging transport to and from as we needed, and on hand while around the hotel. The rooms were spacious, super comfortable beds, large balcony with stunning views. If you visit this part of Thailand, this hotel is a must stay!

We loved everything about the Panviman!! We stayed 3 nights. The room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed our meals, especially the breakfast buffet. Bonus: our first dinner included a surprise cake for our 50th Wedding Anniversary!! The resort is located on a hillside, but very friendly drivers picked us up in golf carts and delivered us quickly to our room, the pool, the lobby, etc. Also, Sam, the manager was very accommodating. We will definitely return!

Really poor customer service and despite staying in the most expensive room (Pool Villa) in the Resort, the staff on the golf cart didn’t really acknowledge us nor offer us help. The reception was not well trained and the room had a large number of ants in the shower. Overall, I won’t go back again. Big disappointment!

Lunch or breakfast in the pool. You will be the ice cream.
Maybe try the hot tub for cheaper and better use! (And maybe cleaner)

Save some doe.. id book a regular room bexause its on the very top of the hill and more scenic. I had blocked views in the villa.

Everything is perfect. It’s really good atmosphere, surrounding by evergreen and mountain, including artificial water fall, trees, flowers and organic vegetables and a farming community.
There are 2 kinds of room, hotel building and separated bungalow for family. All of them are built along the hill. It’s quite high incline. There is electrical shuttle car to service if you need. No elevator in hotel building, not suitable for elder customer.
There are 3 swimming pools including hot Jacuzzi pools with 35 deg C of water temperature.
Gym is open-air gym. The equipment is good and varieties.
The main restaurant, Panorama, is tasty. Breakfast is very good, tasty. There are a lot of varieties of food.
My room is very large, clean and comfortable, equipped with very large balcony with sitting area.
There bathroom is large with separate area for toilet, shower and Jacuzzi. The bathroom wall can be opened to connect with bedroom.
Welcome fruit is tasty and fresh. Wifi in room and whole hotel area is good, but a bit slow.
All staff are very kind and helpful.

Check in was terrible! Totally unfriendly and unprofessional. not compare to other 5 star hotels in thailand. Toilet didn’t work! Gym was old and basic. Breakfast was very limited. Electricity went out a couple of times. It is a beautiful scenery but hotel management is very poor. Prices are US and Europe prices but you are in Thailand! I woukd say skip and try another one in the area. Do not be deceived by pictures or previous reviews.

Had a great stay, loved our room only downfall was I wish the splash pool we had was heated the water was freezing cold and we couldn’t enjoy our amazing view. Terrific staff they were always welcoming and kind. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the cooking class was fun. I would love to come back and stay again someday.

Panviman is the perfect mix of escape, relaxation and luxury. High up in the mountains of Chiang Mai, this resort offers breathtaking views, luxurious accommodations and one of the most beautifully designed/situated spas I’ve ever visited.
My partner and I felt comfortable and safe moving around the space and were very welcomed by staff. Oh, and the food is great! Try the taro creme brûlée!

Stunning location and while a little old in places still a beautiful place to stay. Pool area is awesome. Staff all over super attentive. Restaurant and breakfast staff especially nice and genuinely interested in our stay outside the resort with accurate suggestions for things to do on area.

Very nice hotel, but alcohol too expensive
Very pretty location, but the pool didn't get much sun due to the surrounding trees. The food was good, but the alcohol was much too expensive for Thailand in my opinion. No happy hour either, which doesn't help. If you go, I recommend stopping at 7-eleven to get some drinks.

The views were incredible, incredibly peaceful getaway resort. Food and staff were phenominal. We had a room with private pool, which was extremely private and very enjoyable, but i would note the pool is not heated. None of the pools are heated that the resort has. The drive to the top of the mountain was a little rough with steep hills and many quick turns. Overall great getaway place.

First room offered was very dark due to being on a lower elevation. The one window looked out onto what was essentially the bottom of a deep rock wall, could hardly see the sky when trying to look upwards. The large balcony was accessed via two wooden doors (no windows) and the view was obscured by trees. The room itself was old fashioned with dark heavy furniture and few lights. We even needed the torch to read some information on aircon etc. We were offered the room above which was identical but lighter being up one floor.
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and very relaxing, great pool area, excellent food. The hotel could benefit from a small shop for general items as there are no shops nearby. Chiang Mai is a one hour drive away. The hotel provides a free (at certain times) bus service.

Great resort. Beautiful grounds, could not get enough of it while walking around and enjoying the scenery. Spa is extremely expensive. Pool was a bit chilly, but to be expected in the mountains. Room could have been cleaner- cobwebs and dust all around the room. Other than that, it was pretty clean. Overall I would recommend to anyone.

A taste of Paradise.
We absolutely loved our stay at Panviman Resort. We booked the pool villa. It was unbelievably relaxing. We are retirees who live in Chiang Mai and we enjoy checking out the local resorts close to Home. This resort is like a theme park! The grounds are huge and beautifully maintained. It’s a peace of paradise. Staff is friendly. And the buffet breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices. It’s about an hour outside of Chiang Mai up in the mountains so best to have your own transportation. But for a get away it was perfect. The rooms are spacious and the bedding superb. We will be back.

BEAUTIFUL! There are no other words to explain this resort. I highly recommend. We stayed 2 days in the city of Chiang Mai then came 2 nights here to get the full jungle experience. AMAZING RESORT- I recommend to splurge a little more and get the pool or jacuzzi suite. We had 3 rooms- pool, jacuzzi and a regular high mountain view. They were amazing.

We were warmly greeted and treated very well. Everyone was amazing and very friendly. I only wished we could have stayed longer. Next time we come out we plan to only make our stay at the Panviman Resort & Spa.

Disgusting treatment and staff were inappropriate
Well it was a beautiful property but with a do not disturb sign on my door, a staff walked right in to my room with out knocking while I was a sleep , then they can in to my room again with a do not disturb on my door to do a turn down service when I didn’t want that. I then get a phone call regarding a noise complaint and they wake me up out of a dead sleep and I couldn’t get back to bed as I was just working out my jet leg. I missed my elephant tour in the morning due to that. They tried to offer me a ride to my next resort and I already had a free ride to downtown through theirs free shuttle which was a 5 min taxi to my next hotel. They then tried to cover $15 dollars in food which is way less than a $40 dollar private ride they offered. The staff were rude and constantly giving attitude. They then tried to offer me 2 free nights if I ever came back (why would I stay there again? I told them to refund my two nights stay instead and left my email and it’s been one week and no manager has replaced my money or acknowledged my request. The service was just average but horribly there were thousands of black ants in the toilet. In my opinion, it’s a really bad impression. Staff didn’t seem to care enough.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the panviman resort and had wonderful service! The spa treatments are the best we’ve had while in Thailand! Private pagoda over looking the waterfalls and pool! We had a slight hiccup with some ants in our bathroom and the staff took care of it quickly and even treated us with free transfer to and from the city center for the trouble. We will be coming back to stay again!

Awesome hotel - try it!
We stayed for 3 nights in this resort and I can not express how happy we were with our choice. The room was awesome, the views were amazing and the service is excellent. Food at the restaurant is also good and at very acceptable prices even for Thailand. I think is worth to stay there only for the resort’s design. The spa was good, maybe slightly over the usual street price but good; the only “down” issue was that at night is getting a bit colder in the mountain. The pool is amazing albeit is very very cold- stream water. They have a shuttle to Chaing Mai and we used once for the night market - worked perfectly. We were happy to return to the quiet piece of heaven.... totally recommended.

After getting off to a rough start with the resort forgetting to pick us up from the station, our 3 night stay at the Panviman was just what we needed. The setting is glorious, with numerous quiet places to relax and other areas to be active. Spa treatments in the outdoor pavilion were sublime. Highly recommended for peace and quiet but with plenty of activities in the area for those inclined.

Great Hotel, but!
Didn't start too well. Pick-up was an hour late, but when we arrived we were very impressed with the facilities. Staff were friendly and we were upgraded from a High Mountain Room to a Junior Suite with a great view. The room was very nice, but unfortunately the sheets and pillows were dirty. The situation was resolved very quickly, but it was a disappointing start to our first night and not something you would expect from a high quality hotel. Meals were excellent and the swimming pool was spectacular. It is a very hilly resort and you require a buggy to go to most areas of the resort, but be prepared to wait. The spa was fantastic and well worth the expense. The free shuttle to the city was disappointing as we were dropped off miles from the pick-up point, which was not explained very clearly by the driver. Even though we had a few problems, they were only minor and didn't detract from a very enjoyable stay. Overall, the hotel was very good and we highly recommend anyone who stays in Chiang Mia to stay at the Panviman for at least a few days.

Beautiful Views - Peaceful
Recommended by a couple we met in Bangkok, this hotel was beautiful. Set in the mountains , overlooking a valley, the views were spectacular and ever changing with the weather. The food was good as was the service. We did try the spa which for the price was amazing. Given the language barrier it was actually a more peaceful spa experience as it lacked the constant checking in that you get with English speaking masseuses but they still got it right. The pool area was also gorgeous. The only area that needed updating was the activities area but we really weren't interested so it was not a drawback.

These people also have the patients of Saints as we were often late but nothing was a problem for them.

A splendid get-away to the hills and not far from ChiangMai city. Peaceful surroundings though parts of the facilities are rather dated. Helpful staff. Food not memorable. Will return again. Disappointingly I was charged THB200 for a cotton laundry bag. This is the first time it has happened to me despite staying in a villa and had all meals there over 3 nights. It left me with a negative experience at check out for what had been a restful and enjoyable stay.

The hotel is set on top of a hill so it has a wonderful view, beautiful pool, great breakfast buffet and wonderful customer service by the manager. It is difficult to get there without a taxi as they do not offer airport pick ups for new guest. All and all it was a nice relaxing stay.

This hotel is incredible. The pictures online don't do it justice. You will find culture, authentic food, luxurious rooms, and a million dollar view. The lobby breakfast in the morning was a highlight, and features local fruits and dishes. Staff was always friendly and willing to help make our transition from America easier. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and unforgettable experience.

Amazing hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate us on our stay. Loved the Golf buggy service around the resort. The surrounds were picture perfect, the lush green forest was beautiful manicured and the pool area was unbelievably soothing with its inbuilt waterfall. Good buffet and handy shuttle service that went right in town centre during day and night - we had a great authentic experience exploring the night bazaar using this service. Could not fault this resort - will definitely be back.

Amazing grounds around the hotel and lots to explore. The swimming pool was gorgeous. Not at the heart of the city but the hotel offered a daily free shuttle service to and from the city which was amazing and saved lots of money in taxis. The rooms are well appointed and are located on a hill slope. The balcony opens out to the jungle and there are some very handsome old trees. You hear the sounds of birds in the mornings and evenings. Not to worry about the gentle slopes as there is a buggy service to & from your rooms. Moreover there is also a free shuttle from the hotel to Chengmai town which is an hour's drive away. Overall a pleasant stay.

We were there for 4 unseasonably cold days in Chiang Mai but the hotel staff was ill-equipped to handle the conditions. I would have preferred a more accommodating and less challenging response from the people at the front desk and although the facilities were not very well maintained or well cleaned, my biggest gripe was that the dishes, glassware and silverware at the hotel restaurant were absolutely NOT CLEAN and often smelled foul. I find that utterly unacceptable.
