This is a nice hotel with a lot of character. The Veranda bar overlooks the ocean and has a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a beach across the street and a grocery store next door. I would definitely stay here again.

Two huge cockroches greeted us!!

We booked a room for four. Me, my wife and my two teenage daughters

The place is olddddd

We walk in the room and my girls shreaked, as two huge cockroaches were walking the walls and ceilings

Absolutely disgusting

We went to the front desk and got two rooms instead . No one even apologized!

Needless to say did my wife hates me for booking such a low rating hotel. Who would have thought it's gonna be so bad?

We booked it so we are close to the pireus port the next morning, on our way to the islands

The hotel is so old and needs to be redone....yesterday! You literally think you are in the 80's. Old furniture, old yucky wall 2 wall carpeting.... yuck

The breakfast was good, will give them that

But the cockroaches? Absolutely disgusting!!!!

Great customer service. Amazing view of the Aegean. Unique breakfast. Easy to walk to the train station or stroll at Pasalimani area. Safe to walk around. Next to a grocery store. Daily housekeeping. The building is old, but gives a vintage taste, however could have been much cleaner.

Solid accommodation for the Pireaus area.

The hotel seemed pretty old, and it used metal keys in doorknobs. The carpets were extremely worn down, but my bathroom area was exceptionally clean, and the bed linens were very fresh. The staff were all very friendly and professional. So although I noticed many things as a longtime frequent traveler, in the end, my experience was very good.

Definitely not what I expected. Lobby smells like tobacco. There are some nice paintings in lobby though. Room is outdated. Those beds I slept at last time 20 years ago in summer camp. Mattress very firm. Light in the room dimmed. Bathroom extremely outdated, tiny mirror, hairs on the floor…

the staff varied in quality. some were perfectly fine but one of the reception was smoking in the lobby most of the evening. inside and not just in the door way where most went to smoke. the carpet in the room was very tired and did not appear clean. the lock on the door was terrible and i would not trust it to keep out a small child. the wifi rooter was hanging off a framed picture in lobby area of each floor with wire dangling to the plug. but the breakfast was good and the morning staff were very friendly and the bar and bartender woman were lovely the bar actually is very nice and overlooks the harbour but overally i would not recommend staying at this place. and we often are willing to stay in v low standard hotels but this one was a step too far sadly.

The hotel is right at the beach- if you want to get away from the busy lifestyle and just relax ; this is your place. Stunning views right from your own private balcony. Very friendly environment answering every question. Breakfast is also quite expansive and yummy. Mattresses are comfy; overall the hotel could use some upgrading; but very clean and well preserved. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean too; is more equipped to have a drink there; food is quite slow. Daily housekeeping does a fabulous job.

The hotel located in a very good location, up and down the hill, but walkable distance to transport, sea side, swimming pool and bars. Balkony and room are big enough, all things like air on, shower, taps, lights are working fine. Staff is helpful and informative.
Breakfast a bit boring, coffee could be a bit better, but it's OK. Room was clean, beds comfortable
There was a strange smell lingering for a bit, but after a day airing it's nearly gone.
Hotel is near the main street and there was noisy until 2am, but it wasn't a trouble for us, as we were coming late and tired after days entertainment, so no worries sustained.

Good one night stay. Checkin, front desk and all staff were great. Hotel was clean and room was comfortable. Location was good compared to Piraeus. Yes, the hotel is dated and could use some renovation but we would definitely stay again. Breakfast was a great addition.

Propery is pretty run down and needs serious rennovation work. It is stuck in the 80s.Cleanenliness was ok but th ac unit in our room had broken vents and was covered in dust. I doubt the filter was ever cleaned. Toilet seat was cracked and could not be cleaned properly. Same with shower curtain it didnt struck me as clean.
Location is very nice but parking is an issue. Views are fantastic from our front room. I definitely wouldn't like to stay there for many nights. It's probably ok for a quick overnight stay to enjoy the view.

The hotel has its unique style .. I must be related to the fact that it has not been renovated for ages. But everything was functional and decent.
The best thing was definitely the location and the city itself.
There is a very well equipped supermarket next door.
The room price was high for such standard but seems like that’s a normal price for such hotels in Athens and surrounding areas.

The people at the front desk was amazing. Helen was always willing and ready to help. Best customer service I received. Thumbs up to Helen and the others.
However, the hotel is a bit run down could be a great hotel if it gets an upgrade. The wifi is very poor in there. There is a beach opposite the hotel but it needs to be cleaned, ppl dont clean up after their dogs there.There is a supermarket and a bus stop next door and lots of places to eat near by that you can walk too. Once this hotel is renovated it will be superb.

The location is great, but the hotel and room leave a lot to be desired. The whole space is very outdated. The room was small, the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the carpet and bathroom felt dirty. We got a room with a seaside view which was the only saving grace.

We booked through your website, and was confirmed; when we got there, we were told they had NO ROOMS! After I told them I would not pay a non refundable charge, they found a room for us in there hotel ?? The air conditioning system was weak. We were told you can only stay 1 night,but the next day , they told us we could stay. Because of the Ferry Strike, they charged us way more than the room was worth!

Nice hotel close to the cruise ship port

The short (less than 24 hour) stay was indeed pleasurable. No problems were encountered with any of the services, check-in, check-out, complimentary breakfast, etc. They were all delivered with courtesy and efficiency.
The hotel is situated on the crest of a hill with a beautiful view of the sea.

The room was clean so to speak but felt dirty. We found a cockroach almost immediately upon entering. Most of the light bulbs were burnt out and the AC stopped working on the second night. Check out was a nightmare as they didn't believe me that I had paid already online and they proceeded to charge me (and double at that!) despite talking to hotels.com over the phone. Absolute nightmare that I'm still dealing with working out.

The worst hotel in my 10 years of travelling. The room was a dumpster, cigarette everywhere, bo respect for guests sleeping (very loud music for weddings).
The room we got looks bothing like the photos. It should be removed from Hotels.com

sea view and balcony only double room

I booked a triple room with balcony and sea view for two nights, we got there at 2 am, they gave us a quadruple room with NO view, saying we can change the room following day. Next morning the front desk lady said they don't have triple rooms with sea view.....after getting frustrated, I got a double room with a rollway bed and sea view. Just be aware rooms with sea views and balcony are only double. Poor breakfast, people smoking inside. Clean overall, i might stay again....

Great staff, clean, but needs renovation

This hotel might have been luxurious in the 70s, but the furniture has probably not changed since. While that might be interesting in the lobby, it's not so much enjoyable in the room! I stayed in a double room, the mattress was just horrible, the bed squeaked, I couldn't sleep, and my back was sore the next day. I had booked it for three nights, yet only stayed two. The breakfast was also not good.

On the plus side, it is a walking distance to the clubs and cafes in the area, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The view is beautiful.

Would only stay there again if they renovate.

Nice Hotel With Waterfront View

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The Cava D'Oro Hotel has a waterfront view, is steps from the beach, and a short walk to some of the best waterfront restaurants in Athens. But what really made my experience was the attention of the hotel staff. They are very kind and friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

A Dive!

This place is terrible!!! The hotel is about 90 years old and looks like it hasn't been refurbished since the 60's. Extremely outdated!!! Pictures are very misleading!!! The pictures shows a picture of a nice pool which is actually the view of the pool across the street!!! The carpet was old and many of the tiles in the balcony were broken. The glass wall in the balcony between the rooms was cracked. The view of our Seaview room had a nice view of the sea and the pool across the street. However the building next door is abandoned and looks like it has been for years. The walls are thin and could hear noises which should be kept in the room. The only reason we stayed was because it was a non refundable room. The reviews I read were overall good surprisingly. We booked there due to the proximity to Port Pareus since we had come back from Mykonos Island. There were however some good restaurants about a half km away on the water. The staff was friendly however spoke little english.

My experience was nice. The hotel is family run and has a 60's feel to it. The room was spacious and our view was breathtaking. The bed was on the firmer side but overall it was pretty decent. Breakfast was free and delicious. Overall, it was a great experience & I'm going to miss the staff! Really made me feel like I was home

Staff were amazing, gave us a warm welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. There's not another hotel I'd rather stay at. Also, it's right in front of the beach with a beautiful view, lots of food places, movie theater, and parks. Breakfast was great, served with eggs, sandwich, coffee, juice, yogurt, omlettes, bread, and more. Definitely going back soon!

Nice view but def not 3 stars

This hotel has great views, but should definitely not be listed as a 3 star hotel. Maybe at some point in its existence the facilities were nice and new, but as of today the only thing 3 star about it is the view from the balcony. Pretty much everything needs to be updated--from old lamp fixtures with shades almost falling off to the old squeaky wooden headboard and bed frame to the carpet. Also, the AC in our room didn't work. Thankfully it was cool enough at night that we could open the patio door and that helped cool the room down enough to sleep comfortably. That is if you're able to sleep through street noise, which I am. The shower was hot and the water pressure was awesome so that was good. All and all this place worked as a spot to keep our things while we toured around Piraeus but for the price I wouldn't stay again.
