We had such a delightful stay at this lovely hotel - a beautiful setting, extremely comfortable rooms and public spaces, and exceptionally attentive, helpful, and friendly staff. We felt warmly welcomed and cared for from the moment of arrival to our departure. Breakfast was also delicious, and the sound of the river rushing by outside our window and the dining room was heavenly. A very special place, very special people, and surely one of the one of the loveliest hotels in the area.

Wonderful historical place. As part of Relais & Chateaux, Le Moulin de l'Abbaye definitely meets outstanding standards of history (we stayed in a 13th century building) and luxury. We also had dinner at the Michelin star restaurant and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend it.

The reception was fantastic. They greets us like family. The view from our room was so beautiful, it brought me to tears. We had a problem with drainage in our shower and it was fixed immediately. The breakfast, served on the terrace overlooking the river, was scrumptious and they even had gluten free bread for me.

Beautiful setting! Loved this small riverside tiwn! Reasurant was closed but very nice buffet breakfast with seating in a gorgeous setting (Lovely July morning) Our room was in an unattached building and upstairs but a very comforabke room.

A very pleasant surprise. After our original hotel (booked through a different site) cancel our reservation we scrambled and went to Expedia to find a new place. This was a little further away but was so worth and extra ten minute drive. Beautiful place, oustanding service and comfort!

Outstanding Hotel.

We only stayed one night in this hotel and though we normally stay in nearby Bourdeilles we decided to treat ourselves at the Moulin de l'Abbaye. I am glad we did. The quality of service was outstanding. The staff really made an effort to make you feel special and welcome. The dinner in the restaurant was very good and again the service was very good. The only criticism was the noise of the water rushing through the mill! But a very small price to pay for such a wonderful location. We will definitely return.

Superb location on the Dronne River, very picturesque. The rooms were very quiet, clean and comfortable. The stairs were a bit of a nuisance. But we had been told in advance so we knew there was no lift. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended but not if you are on a budget! Would definitely go back.

Close to all must see sights

Brantome, France's Venice, is is a magical place full of character, and we were fortunate to be there at the time of a Festival. This very well run hotel is in a great location on the river (as you might guess from its name!), the food is really excellent, the service first class and the very recently redecorated and refurbished rooms very comfortable. We had nothing to criticise, this was France at its best, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two nights.

Moulin De L'Abbaye

Beautiful setting in an old mill. Brantome is an interesting small town. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted warmly. Did my check in by the fireplace in the sitting room. Was offered champagne/cocktail drink.Valet parking is provided in the cave across the street. My room in the main building-(get in the main building if you can) had a fabulous view of the medieval town,the river confluence below the island,the bridges and cliffs and caves above the island. The room was nice, bed comfortable, the lighting was adequate for reading in bed.There was an in room safe. I ate one dinner at the restaurant. The service was attentive, food was delicious. The view from the restaurant, the wine list, a real dining experience! The breakfast was a bit expensive. It was a little cold, and overcast, and intermittent rain when I was there (early may). I would have paid any price to breakfast at the riverside tables on a sunny morning.I used Brantome as my jumping off point to my Dorgonne visit (rented car in Angloumeme at train station).Nice town, nicer hotel, nicest restaurant.

Un cadre magique

Le restaurant au bord de la rivière est tout simplement merveilleux. Nous avons passé une soirée parfaite, accompagnés par un personnel très sympathique et aux petits soins, à la hauteur de cette étoile Michelin.
L’hôtel est agréable, nous étions logés dans la partie deportee à 300m, chambre et salle de bains spacieuses et petite terrasse très agréable 😀
