The property is lovely, although a little tired; the room was large with sofa, good storage and some strange wall hangings (think swords and battle axes!), but the bed was below par - two different beds pushed together that moved and were not very comfortable. The gym is good with a balcony that looks over the forest, and the spa was great with good massages and spa facilities. Overall, a recommend, but wish they would upgrade the bed, pillows and bedding to match to overall feeling of the hotel.

Shame about the room

Outwardly the Hotel looks great and the main house has real character and charm. We however had a room in the orangery which is a detached building of modern construction. The room was not a bad size, was fairly clean although there were specific areas like the waste bins that could have been cleaner. The room had two single beds pushed together which got further and further apart as the night passed. The main issue with the room was the lack of water pressure to provide adéquate flow for the shower, but even worse was the lack of sound insulation that had been used in the construction of the building. We could hear every step, door opening, TV being switched on etc. throughout our stay. The pillows were also dreadful and the Duvet hardly big enough for the bed. A shame really as the rest of the experience was pretty good, with the restaurant food being very tasty and reasonably priced too.

Hotel is kinda cute. cardboard walls. You can hear everything from the other rooms including the toilet part. Staff is extremely ignorant. They do not have the caliber of hôtel to support their attitude. Simply avoid that place. Not worth it.

The Orangerie and the Chateau were lovely old buildings set in a large garden. It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff and service were excellent and the restaurant was outstanding. The pool and spa were not available as work was being carried out at the time we stayed there.

It is a nice hotel and nice pool, however the service wasn't really acceptable, except for the Reception Staff, who were all very helpful. The scrambled eggs and sausages were completely cold and I mentioned this to the staff, who replaced them with more completely cold scrambled eggs and sausages. No apology was made or any attempt to rectify the matter. I saw other people with the same issues. No coffee/tea was offered at the tables. On this basis we decided not to eat in the evening or again in the morning.

we booked the hotel as we are on a motorbike trip and when we get to the hotel we need to lock up bikes and forget for eve that's why we choose hotels with resturants when we arrived having booked the orangery because its modern and more to our liking. we were told we were upgraded in the castle as orangery was full (strange since I booked months ago)and there was no room in restaurant's (two off) because we cant feed you we have upgraded you,. no room service ,no snacks nothing. the room I did not feel was a upgrade it was not tastefully done the décor fitments did not reflect a chateau more a 1970 cheap with coir carpet and the bathroom was mouldy on all grouting on floor and walls the shower was middle of bath with the shower screen on end? there was a mini bar where you could buy water but no water supplied in room free . it was hot and stuffy in room if you had the fan on it kept you awake with noise if you opened the window the road outside kept you awake in was in quite a built up area we were so disappointed by the hotel we checked out as soon as we woke not bothering with the 30 euro basic breakfast which they had room for us in the restaurant to take in the morning. I would not have booked this hotel had I known they did not keep tables in resturants for guests or even email and ask if you required one like many of the other hotels did we stayed in. the nearest restaurant was downhill 20 mins but you need to like fish as fish restaurant but that was very good

Dinner? Sorry, that's off!

Four star? Not like any 4 star I have ever stayed at! And unfortunately I booked a 3 night stay.
They advertise a restaurant AND a brasserie - but that is only for hotel guests if they don't have any other bookings. There is nothing close by so you are completely stuck. I went on a wild goose chase to find a restaurant they said was within walking distance. Not within 30 minutes, I can assure you.
So I came back, and after much persuading and pleading they gave me a small plate of bread and cheese for dinner to eat in my room - no idea what it will cost! See below for picture.
And that was my lovely French evening - sitting on a (small) bed eating stale bread and cheese. Sad!
Not helpful, not nice, not recommended.
P.S. Wifi is terrible, it keeps dropping out. They can't do anything about it apparently. And I can't get the TV to work!

Whilst being in a wonderful position, and the buildings themselves were truly beautiful, However, the main purpose of a hotel stay is to get a comfortable nights sleep. Here however, I think that we experienced the most uncomfortable bed encountered on our travels. It was very very hard, The pillow cases had been starched and ironed to the extent where you could almost cut yourself on the creases! The wi fi continuously dropped out. (very annoying) and the taps / sink area in the bathroom were missing large areas of mastic / caulking. But certainly the most prevelant problem was the uncomfortable bed / bedding.

Great Chateau close to St. Emillion wineries

This is an amazing Chataeu in France very close to Saint Emilion wine country. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast which was great with a large variety of foods including fresh fruit, granola, eggs, croissants and coffee. The room was super and had the amenities one would need while traveling. Great place to stay!

A one night stopover

After a long drive of 5 hours to get there it was lovely to pull in to the beautiful chateau. WE were in the cheaper Orangerie building but it was still lovely. We ate in the Bistro restaurant and the food was delicious. We would like to go back for a longer stay.

Toujours content d’y passer, et cette fois j’ai même profité un peu de la piscine! Très joli « petit château ». Et le personnel est toujours sympa.
Attention à penser à réserver le restaurant à la réservation sinon pas sur d’avoir une place.
Pas de clim par contre, en pleine canicule, c’était un peu dur tout de même.
Mais globalement, c’est un bel endroit que je recommande.

De kamers in de Orangerie zijn basic en zonder airconditioning, wat bij 40 °C buitentemperatuur eigenlijk wel zou mogen. Door de muren zijn dik en als men het raam dichthoudt kan men de kamertemperatuur nog draaglijk houden.
De badkamer is mooi en en recent

Het ontbijt is Basic, maar wel verzorgd. Jammer genoeg, geen glutenvrije keuze.
Alsook geen kazen die niet van koemelk afkomstig zijn

Ne mérite certainement pas 4 étoiles !

Si l’arrivée dans la cour du château est très belle, les chambres sont justes correctes : matelas trop fins et fatigués, et surtout 2 matelas séparés dans un lit double, manque d’éclairages dans la chambre et certains éléments vétustes (cf.
porte de la sdb) et on entend bien les voisins.
Surtout, pas de climatisation mais un pauvre ventilateur bruyant alors qu’il faisait plus de 30 degrés à l’ombre ! Pas de recharge de bouteille d’eau ni de café…
Piscine bien trop petite pour l’établissement et plage l’entourant ridicule, ne permettant pas à tous les résidents de se poser autour. D’abord calme, l’hôtel s’est mué en « club Mickey » avec l’arrivée de clients hurlants et confisquant le bassin avec leurs bouées, jouets aquatiques, etc. Les responsables alertés n’ont rien fait malgré leur promesse et nous ont refusé 2 chiliennes inutilisées pour nous poser au calme dans le parc !
Spa sympa mais avec des équipements défaillants (2 buses fonctionnelles sur 6 dans la piscine, fontaine de glace non opérationnelle) et si l’accueil du premier jour était top, ce ne fut pas le cas lors de notre soin : masseuses très bien mais pris avec 15 minutes de retard : du coup, massage d’à peine 55 minutes pour 60 payées (soit presque 10% en moins !) et heure de spa qui se résume au final à 30 minutes du fait du quart d’heure commercial de vente des produits puis de la demande de quitter les lieux 15 minutes avant la fermeture ; bref, 190 euros payés pour 2 heures se résumant à 1h30 effective.

J’ai passé une nuit à l’orangerie.
Le cadre est sympathique avec le château et la cour qui sont très jolis.
Par contre à mon avis cela ne vaut pas 4 étoiles.
Le confort de la chambre reste minimal avec un lit/oreillers qui datent un peu. Idem pour la salle de bain.
Le petit déjeuner n’est clairement pas à la hauteur non plus (les viennoiseries étaient quasi inexistantes, peut être un mauvais timing lors de mon passage mais tout de même)
De manière générale, le cadre est agréable pour ceux qui aime les châteaux mais cela ne vaut pas à mon sens les (quasi) 100 eur la nuit pour une chambre basique

Très beau lieu et personnel sympathique à l’accueil comme au restaurant.
La chambre est à spacieuse mais à renouveler pour sa décoration. La salle de bain est vieillissante, le débit d’eau de l’an douche est catastrophique et certain éléments se décrochent. Pour le repas au restaurant, entrée plat et dessert obligatoire on ne peut choisir c’est dommage mai excellent.

Insonorisation deplorable, literie standard, amenagement et decoration en inadequation totale avec le lieu, et de qualité mediocre. L’ecrin exterieure d’un mignone orangerie de chateau ravagée a l’interieure par une architecture d’hotel d’autoroute.
Sans compter le reveil à 8h45 par les aspirateurs des femmes de menage (toutes portes ouvertes) sans doute pressées d’en finir... comme nous d’ailleurs.

Not happy

We were given a room in the chateau not the Orangerie like we had reserved for. There was a large group that night. Our room was so hot we could not sleep that night. We tried to make a reservation for dinner for the 2 nights we were there but were told the dining room was full. We have never experienced that a hotel customer would not have a table at the restaurant.
The room was missing a light above the bed. The shower head had no support so we had to wash with one hand, try that!

SEJOUR A L'ORANGERAIE DU CHATEAU

Attention ce n'est pas le château donc risque de déception ! mais un batiment non loin du château.
Si le numéro de votre chambre commence par 3 cela suppose que vous serez dans une chambre dite économique et donc au décor très basic et risquez d'avoir le bruit du moteur de la VMC du batiment qui résonne toute la nuit. le réseau wifi de la TV est très aléatoire et peu stable
Rassurez vouis le lit est spacieux et très confortable.
Vous pourrez diner à la brasserie de l'hôtel pour un prix raisonnable. Bonne cuisine mais au menu entrée plat dessert, imposé. si vous choississez à la carte le Menu est plutôt élaboré donc coûteux !

Gut geeignet für einen Kurzstop

Wir haben das Hotel aufgrund der geografischen Lage (Stopover) und der Parkmöglichkeit gebucht. Das Hotel-Restaurant ist scheinbar sehr beliebt und gut bewertet; wir haben es allerdings nicht besucht.

Bon établissement, déco sobre et salle de bains un peu vieillotte mais fonctionnelle. La literie est confortable, le calme : bref c'est reposant comme escale. Petit bémol ou critique sur le petit déjeuner qui pour moi ne vaut pas les 14€.

Très déçue usurpation des étoiles
Déjà : 4 c est le château l orangerie ce n est que 3
Seul point remarquable parc et extérieur du château
Petit déjeuner : oranges moisies yaourts périmés et obligés de prendre tasses et cuillères non utilisées sur tables non débarrassées pas de personnel de salle
Chambre : plutôt jolie d apparence rapide mais vétuste inacceptable notamment robinetterie manquant d hygiène en plus tâche au plafond assise fauteuil en lambeaux et matelas sans commentaire

Séjour malheureusement trop court Qui nous a permis toutefois d’apprécier une belle demeure de charme avec sa dépendance et un joli parc. Service de très bonne qualité. Nous reviendrons.

Bel endroit à 5 minutes de la ville!

Tranquillité garantie sur une superbe propriété historique.

Personnel raffiné et sympathique. Salle de bain spacieuse, chambre confortable.

Dommage d'être tombée sur une chambre avec deux lits simples alors que j'avais réservé une chambre avec lit double. le petit déjeuner est bien trop cher pour les produits proposés. tout est industriel. l'accueil dans la verrière est inexistant. Dommage car le lieu est superbe. le rapport qualité prix n'est pas tout à fait au rendez-vous
