The hotel is beautiful but not well suited for handicapped or movement restricted guests. Rooms are lovely and the breakfast very good, but coffee not so great. The setting is exceptional and well worth a visit.

Una hospedería hermosa e inmaculada. Al llegar piensas que el GPS se ha equivocado y te ha llevado a una atracción turística. La histórica estructura está perfectamente conservada y la decoración es moderna y de mucho estilo. La mejor comida que disfrutamos durante nuestra visita por todo el noroeste de España, fue sin dudas en el Parador de Sigüenza. Solo mejoraría el proceso de checking.

The Parador surroundings are beautiful. The rooms are nice but did not have the unique architectural quality of the castle. Very clean and restful stay.

The hotel staff, although polite, were not as enthusiastic in their service.

The city’s residents and businesses were very cordial! The visitor’s center was excellent on local information and history.

Best to visit toward the middle-end of the week to enjoy most restaurants and shops as they open from Thursday-Sunday.

Trains to Siguenza from Madrid were limited and closed due to renovations. Transfers were by bus, which made the journey a bit longer. No information to this effect was publicized during the train ticket reservations, FYI. Lastly, there are only four taxi companies (with limited cars) that operate so it’s difficult to acquire same-day transport. Best to have a car.

The castle is a dream. Wonderful place.Stunning .Super clean. Quiet walkable city down the hill. Beautiful rooms. The only bad thing was dinner time. It’s a shame that are so short staffed. It took forever to get food and a long wait (30 min.) to get coffee after dinner. A hotel with this stature should offer an excellent service all around.

El hotel es muy bonito, la habitación es amplia y está limpia pero todos los pasillos huelen a nicotina (incluyendo la entrada del cuarto) y el baño de la habitación olía muy mal. Cuando le dices a la del front desk sobre el olor a cigarro, se hace la que acaba de enterarse. Con el desayuno no entiendo cuál es el rollo. Querían q compráramos el buffet de 21 euros pero nosotros no desayunamos fuerte… solo queríamos tomar un café. Pues nunca nos atendieron para tomar un café. La chica del hotel nos dijo q, si queríamos un pan con el café, salíamos mejor pagando el buffet. No entendí cómo iba a salir mejor con el buffet si solo quería un café y acaso un pan … pero tomamos café por una cafetería en el pueblo. El hotel está arriba, el pueblo abajo así que es importante que tenga buena movilidad, de lo contrario, será difícil subir la cuesta del pueblo cada vez q tenga q volver al hotel.

Dias después también superiores pero en otra sección, camas cómodas y llenas de amenities como pantuflas, batas, etc. Nos por que no es lo miso smn un lado y en otro. Por lo demás el parador es espectacular.

Being able to stay in such an impressive historical building is definitely worth the experience. Being an actual castle probably makes it difficult to keep installations up-to-date, though, as our room felt a bit dated (and not in a cool medieval way) and we had some issues with the heating system. It was a standard room, so higher categories may be better. Mixed experience with staff as some were great while others seemed a bit clueless. Sigüenza is beautiful and I would definitely recommend staying at the Parador, as long as you don't expect luxury. You pay for the spectacular location and building (the castle really is beautiful) rather than for the level of hotel services as such.

Beautiful medieval castle in a small town. The hotel is very nice, we just wish there was a grand salon to seat similar to other Paradores we have stayed; we also wish there was access to the castle towers.
The room was excellent, very roomy, comfortable. We would just recommend to get at least 1 English channel in the TV service.

We (especially our nearly 5-year old son) loved our stay at this hotel—a former castle. The town is beautiful and enchanting as well. The rooms could use a renovation, but one accepts them as they are given the charming ambience of the place.

Loved the hotel. Great location. we arrived during a weekend Renaissance style festival, so it made for a lively atmosphere as well. Also enjoyed the view from my window on the front of the castle. had a little seat built into the wall.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a mild issue where they lost our reservation and we had to wait a bit before getting a room. They got us into a fantastic room and it everything went perfect. I would recommend this hotel with confidence. Only thing I would tell visitors is that there almost nothing to do in Siguenza. It’s perfect for an overnight stay if traveling through the area.

SIGUENZA however was very quiet. Maybe off season but resembled a ghost town and as we stayed in both Cuenca and ALMAGRO on the same trip (both of which were very alive!), I would strongly recommend only a 1 night stay here

a stopover on our return journey to the UK.Interesting place but much of the town was closed when we were there including the tourist office which we thought was pretty poor.
Castle itself was fine but because of the time of year really quite.

Great Historic Stay

We were in town for a wedding. Siguenza is a relatively short train ride from Madrid, or a much longer one from Barcelona. The hotel is part of the giant medieval Siguenza castle, which was renovated in the 1970s. The room was very nice with a great view of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast, included with the rate that we paid for, was really great. The castle itself has a very nice restaurant and a bar. The surrounding city is small, but there are a lots of nice cafes and bars, especially down by the cathedral. There are miles beautiful trails right out back of the hotel, also with nice views. We probably wouldn't have come to Siguenza if not for the wedding, but it really is a hidden gem. The castle hotel is definitely the place to stay.

Parador of Siguenza

A unique castle fortress situated in was is called \"El Cid\" country, is a converted palace where bishops used to live. It has all the enchantment of a castle, as does the town itself. It can be seen as a day trip from Madrid. but if you are in a medieval mood this is a must see place. The castle was destroyed during the Spanish civil war in 1936-39 and rebuilt in 1951is memory serves. The town has some unique restaurants form standard fare to game selections. The local wine is very good as well.

The Parador was beautiful, full of history and very different from your average hotel. It was a little difficult to find, but once there we were thrilled. The front desk staff spoke a little bit of English, and gave us a town map. Our room was small but clean, and the bathroom was very nice.

This parador is located in the old castle in Siguenza above the small town but in easy walking distance of the Cathedral and Plaza Mayor (5 minutes at the most). The facilities are superb including the restaurant, bar and residents sitting room which was tremendous. I would recommend everyone to stay here. WOW!

Not Hotel, a PALACE!

Excellent! The rooms are smartly decorated in a very successful attempt to merge the decor of this 14th century palace with modern conveniences. The luxury of the bathroom, marble, his/her vanities/stainless steel sinks, multiple mirrors, antique bathtub, very thick bath robes, slippers, large bath towels, all embroidered with the hotel logo. . . Left us in awe. . . And romance. Although the Landa Hotel is not technically a Spanish\"parador\", my wife and I found it to be better, more interesting and more luxurious than the 2 paradores we stayed in during this trip. The only draw back is that the location. You cannot walk to downtown, you must drive or take a taxi (maybe 10-15 min. drive). This hotel has a Burgos address but it's really just out of town. We drove there in a rented car and our gps could not get us there, we had to ask a couple of times before we could find this hotel.

The only complaint is that there wasn't any taxis available to get us down to the train so we had to run w/ luggage in tow in hopes to make the only train out of town. However, this Parador is located in a very small town so taxi's aren't readily available which we didn't account for. Other than that, It was a fun stay

Historisches Gebäude, großes Schlafzimmer, bequeme Betten und zufriedenstellendes Frühstück. Paradores sind nicht für ihre hochwertigen Abendessen bekannt, daher habe ich mir im gemütlichen Innenhof einen Teller Jamón Ibérico mit einem Glas Rotwein aus Ribera del Duero gegönnt. Wie viele Paradores liegen auch diese abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade und bestechen durch die Schönheit und Ruhe ihrer historischen Gebäude, während man mit dem Auto durch Spanien reist.
