Pierre, our host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast omelette while watching birds at the feeding stations. The gardens were very enjoyable. Our air conditioned room with our ensuite bathroom with a fantastic shower was wonderful after bird watching in several sites within a short driving distance.

Endroit enchanteur pour les ornithologues

Gentillesse du proprio. Air climatisé. Eau chaude. Tranquillité. Beaucoup beaucoup d’oiseaux pour nous les amoureux de la faune ailée. Avons vu plus de 50 espèces d’oiseaux. Avons vu de petites chauves souris. Avons vu deux paresseux. Beaux jardins de fleurs et de plantes.Très bon déjeuner Costa ricien. Je vous le recommande.

We didn't stay. The place was deserted accept for some sound (maybe a tv) coming from the furthest structure, leaving us with an eirie/ weird feeling of being alone in a strange place.

If I could, I would have stayed longer in this establishment. The pictures and description does not do justice to this amazing place. The rooms are old but in reasonable state, and they are clean. The breakfast is good and with a perfect view over the garden. The garden is the best thing about the place. The property is actually like an island with a small old metal bridge and it is full of mutiple species of Heliconia and also a nice untouched forest for small walk and discovery. We saw both spider and howler monkeys, sloths (with their children) and numerous types of birds. The property has direct access to the river so you can bath there. It is simplely amazing!

Beautiful property with a lot of Heliconias and birds. Property is well kept. The room had AC which was good to counter the somewhat humid conditions when we were there. Food options are limited but that didn’t bother us too much as we were outside most of the time.

Owners not there and we were only people staying for 2 nights. We found the staff to be pleasant but somewhat disinterested almost as if we were in the way somehow. The room and veranda seating area was not clean and I had to find a brush to clean areas down. The place in general needs TLC and our room had several lights not working etc. I don’t mind a room not being cleaned during a stay but at these prices expected at least a clean room to start with and a daily clean especially for the used toilet paper bins given the high heat and no air con. No evening meal facilities so a drive of 10 mins minimum. Have travelled in South America and Far East and stayed in backpacking places so not a fusspot but don’t think I’ve been more disappointed with a place. On plus side were the gardens, great rafting on Sarapiqui with Green Rivers company and an extremely well presented Best Chocolate Tour

The hotel was well situated in a little oasis. The service was great even though the rooms may be basic in luxury. Windows were screened and there was a fan but no AC. Fabulous gardens and breakfast view of monkeys, lizards, iguanas and toucans are what set it apart. I had a great sleep and was quite comfortable.

Beautiful setting. Delicious breakfast. When we reported that the air conditioner didn’t work host said that it wasn’t broken but that there is an extra charge to use. So far they are the only place that charges extra in CR. Would have been nice to know ahead of time!

Beautiful gardens, very nice rooms. I didn’t see any animals, but that may here been due to inclement weather. Did a night walk too and didn’t see anything notable. Flowers, however, were excellent. Many Heliconia species.

Great place for wildlife

Staff wonderful, if it’s wildlife you want to see this is deftly the place to stay as it’s right on your doorstep. Food great and a very friendly and accommodating lovely family who made our stay a very special memory. Thankyou very much. Just a shame about the weather but hey tour in the rain forest :)

So much potential

From the outside, this place looks amazing. But on the inside, not so much. There was a massive dead cockroach in the bathroom, the fan wasn't very helpful in the hot and humid weather. This part of the country is full of mosquitos and bugs, so even a crack in the window (which there was) meant you were being eaten up by bugs all night. Lastly, the sheets were stained by sweat or something else. We were so tired from our long drive that we decided to stay, but chose to leave at sunrise!

Very pleasant visit

I stayed here one night. There is the MOST beautiful garden and for a patient photographer with a good camera, a great place to taking photos. The rooms are very nice, built up high so you can sit and look out over the garden, flowers and birds. And the air conditioning was most welcome as the humidity was exceptionally high that week. Over breakfast, I saw 19 birds ( two new life birds ) in the 1 1/2 hours I sat there. They put out fruit to attract them so you are bound to see some interesting species.

Wir haben selten einen so engagierten und netten Gastgeber wie Pierre erlebt.
Frühstück nach Wunsch und auf Anfrage extra für uns ein großartiges Barbecue gemacht.
Er war immer present und ansprechbar. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Leuk verblijf in het groen. Veel planten en dieren kunnen hier spotten. Het ontbijt is prima. Sommige dingen zijn een beetje verouderd maar het is prima!

Nous avons passé l’une des meilleures nuit de notre vie pour le cadre idyllique en pleine jungle ! Cette propriété est absolument merveilleuse, son gérant est très sympathique. Bonus pour la baignade dans la rivière. Lieu qui protége son environnement pour la faune et la flore. Et le repas du soir ainsi que le petit déjeuner étaient excellents.

Die Hütten liegen in einem herrlichen Garten, in dem man sehr gut Tiere wie Kolibris, Singvögel, Echsen und Faultier beobachten kann. Beim Frühstück hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Futterstelle für Vögel, die gut besucht ist. Sehr netter Empfang, wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Und die lauten Brüllaffen übertönten teilweise sogar die LKWs der Nähe gelegenen Straße.

Мой любимый отель в Коста Рике.

Мы останавливались в этом отеле в прошлом году. Жили там четыре дня и нам настолько понравилось, что и в этом году мы решили снова здесь остановиться. Этот отель расположен на острове, он имеет огромную территорию (это бывший ботанический сад), поэтому там огромное количество разных интересных растений, цветов и плодовых деревьев. Кроме этого много птиц и животных. Управляющий отеля, Мелвин, - чудесный человек, который делает очень много, чтобы вы чувствовали себя комфортно. Номера в отеле довольно простые, я бы сказала - очень простые, но все это с лихвой окупается возможностью наблюдать жизнь живой природы вокруг вас. Очень вкусные завтраки и можно заказать ужин. В этот раз я воспользовалась советом Мелвина и взяла ночную экскурсию по территории Heliconia Island. Было очень здорово. мы видели опоссума, кинкажу, ленивца, спящих птиц, интересных насекомых. Наш гид, очень грамотный и увлеченный человек, много рассказывал интересных фактов об окружающей нас живности. И хотя я не сильно владею английским, я умудрилась почти все понять. Однозначно рекомендую этот отель всем, кто любит природу, наблюдать за птицами и животными.
Еще про удобства отеля. Всегда есть горячая вода и можно принять душ в любое время. Есть общий холодильник, где можно хранить продукты.

Heerlijk verblijf

Alle overdaad van de Costaricaanse natuur is hier te vinden. Wat een heerlijke plek! Weelderig groen, fel gekleurde bloemen, vogels, apen: het is er!
Capitool vermeldt deze bijzondere botanische tuin in zijn gids, maar de \"cabanas\" die er worden genoemd zijn beslist meer dan dat. Er zijn 5 ruime, moderne kamers met een comfortabel Kingsize-bed en een ruim balkon met zicht op die prachtige tuin.
De accomodatie wordt gerund door de jonge Costaricaan Melvin, die zijn gasten op professionele wijze alle gastvrijheid biedt die je je maar kunt wensen. We hebben het hier vier dagen heerlijk gehad! Dank, Melvin en Vivi!

Nous avons été bien accueilli par un gentil couple. Les chambres ont vu sur le jardin et la végėtation est luxuriante. Nous nous sommes promenés dans le jardin, nous avons vu un paresseux, des singes hurleurs .Nous avons pris une bière sur le bord de la rivière et beaucoup d’oiseaux se sont posés près de nous . Nous avons prix un souper de Casado et avons vu un kinkajou se promener dans les arbres .Le souper était copieux et le prix de 10$ US incluait un jus frais . Pour le souper ,il faut réserver avant 17 h et vous pouvez souper de 18 h à 20 h .

Nous recommandons cet hôtel .

Kleines Paradies

Wir waren nur eine Nacht auf Heliconia Island. Hübsches kleines Zimmer mit viel Aussicht ins Grüne. Angenehme Dusche. Man kann einen kurzen Wanderweg ablaufen und mit etwas Glück, Affen, Faultiere, Leguane und sicher noch andere Tiere sehen. Zum Frühstück werden die Vögel mit Früchten angefüttert, wir haben Tucane, Papageie und viele andere Vogelarten sehen können. Und nicht zu vergessen die vielen schönen Heliconia Pflanzen im Garten. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Viviana und Melvin haben uns mit ihrer Gastfreundschaft überzeugt. Sehr feines Frühstück und auch sehr leckere Abendessen. ( sogar auf individuelle Wünsche eingegangen ) Natur und Wohlfühlen pur! Die Lage mitten im Grünen ist einzigartig!
