Area is in central \"walking zone\" beside a tree lined park. Paid Parking on street; hotel offers some private parking at expense (becoming common in Germany). Breakfast included, which is becoming less common in Germany. Easy walking to central shopping and restaurants. Room was nicely furnished and clean. Old style stately hotel with high ceilings. Restaurant and bar appear well appointed.

Quirky. Staff is friendly and efficient. Check In is easy, before 21:30. After that you have to find a lock box, through the courtyard, in the dark, behind the hotel. Not the easiest, but instructions are good. Interesting and eclectic themed decorations and decor make the hotel a fun and interesting place to stay. Very convenient to downtown area . Have stayed several times now and will come back.

Wasn't my first choice either time I stayed, but both times were pleasant experiences. I checked in after 10 p.m. which means there is no one at the desk. Basically check yourself in by going to the back entrance of the hotel and use a code that is sent to you to open a lockbox where there are keys to select for a room. Lots of aclektic arrangements, furniture, and decorationa in the hotel, which gives it lots of character. I actually would go back except the rooms are a bit expensive considering the size and overall comfort. €138 to €148 depending on the day of the week, even in Expedia. Does include a good breakfast spread though too.

Hotel setting is lovely, parking our car opposite by the park in which we had our evening meal from a Steak House restaurant on the corner.
Room was large, clean, quite dated but fit the style of the hotel which is over 100 years old.

Great hotel, central to the town ( anout 5 minutes walk to the main square), but quiet giving a restful night. Private and secure parking is available at no extra cost which is a significant benefit, particukarly for motorcycles. Easy to find and would highly recommend. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment; good continental breakfast available with convenient hours. Unsure of when the bar/ restaurant was open, but I'm sure if you asked reception they would let you know. We were staying in March which is really off-season.

We were passing through the area, and stayed one night at the Parkhotel. It’s a quaint German hotel. The two floor room had lots of space, and included a kitchen and living quarters. Breakfast in the morning was great (buffet included). Great and happy service (unlike a few other hotels in Germany), all spoke English. Good value. Location is in the center of town, within walking distance of many restaurants.

Second time around at this hotel. Great place to stay for a couple of nights in a quiet, relaxing sorrounding. Very nice staff and very good breakfast buffet. Convenient parking and close to everything in this very nice town.

We were informed we had a family suite, and we were all surprised and delighted to find we had been given the \"residenz\", a suite with mezzanine bedroom and it's own kitchen.
Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little tired but this didn't detract from our enjoyment of the visit.
We will definitely visit again next year. Traunstein is a great base for visiting Lake Chiemsee, the alps are 20 minutes away by bus, Salzburg is 30 minutes by train.

Beautiful location and view! There is no air conditioning, so it could get hot in the summer. The hotel staff was very helpful, breakfast was delicious, and service was great! The downtown is easy to get to. Very good espresso machine in the room, too!

We wanted to stay near Salzburg and found this gem because of the price. Although it was 20 km away, it was 25-30 euro cheaper. It was a very pretty and quaint hotel out of the 1920s (that is a positive). The restaurant and breakfast were great. The wifi was free and was the fastest we had in Europe anywhere by a long shot. Definitely worth the short drive to Salzburg or Berchtesgarden.

Also, in spite of Euro News being included in TV choice there was no English speaking channel available on the TV amongst the 20 or so channels. I would have thought that with satellite availability plus the international use of English, at least the BBC or CNN should be added to the choice of TV channels.

Allgemein war der Aufenthalt sehr gut! Das Hotel ist ein wenig älter und nicht komplett renoviert, aus diesem Grund vier Sterne. Beim Frühstück gab es genügend Auswahl, sogar Orangensaftpresse stand zur Verfügung.
Leider hatte das Restaurant nicht ausreichend Plätze für das Abendessen.

Frühstück nicht zeitgemäß, lieblos, zu wenig Auswahl, auch qualitativ minderwertig. Fernseher keinen Empfang und auch keine Streamingdienste nutzbar, obwohl alle Apps auf dem Gerät verfügbar waren. Sonst hätten wir durchaus gesamt 4 Sterne gegeben.

Das Frühstück war gut, das Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen und eher erschreckend. Auch wenn ich ein Einzelzimmer gebucht habe, weiß ich nicht, wann ich das letzte Mal in einem Kinderbett geschlafen habe. Teppichboden überall, Billig-Möbel, Dusche mit hohem Einstieg, Bad ohne Fenster. Das Zimmer - ein Schlauch. Ein Hotel, das in die Jahre gekommen ist. Und in dem wenig renoviert wurde und wird. Charme einer alten und vergessenen Zeit.

Wir haben im Rahmen einer Radtour leider nur eine Übernachtung gehabt, aber wir haben ein upgrade bekommen. Darüber haben wir uns sehr gefreut. Ansonsten war alles andere auch klasse, so dass wir sicherlich wieder kommen werden.

Das Personal an der Rezeption ist auch sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Unser Zimmer hingegen war leider nicht ganz so erfreulich. Der Teppichboden ist total fleckig und sieht daher schmutzig aus. Zudem war eine Delle im Boden durch den Teppich abgedeckt. Leider waren Haare auf dem Kissen und im Waschbecken sowie in der Dusche war auch jeweils ein kurzes Haar. Ich selbst bin bei sowas recht schnell unglücklich. Auch der Stuhl im Zimmer war mit Flecken übersehen. Wären diese Dinge behoben wäre das Zimmer toll gewesen, da es geräumig ist. Die Ausstattung selbst ist in sonst in Ordnung, nur recht alt. Das Frühstück war gut und bis 11Uhr verfügbar. Leider wird ab 10Uhr nicht mehr wirklich aufgefüllt, es hat aber für uns gereicht.

Die Lage ist sehr schön zentral gegenüber eines kleinen Parks. Nachts ist es ruhig. Wir hatten ein Zimmer hinten rau mit Blick auf den Innenhof und die Garagen. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig mit einer kleinen Couch. Zwei Bademäntel lagen bereit, die wir aber nicht benutzt haben. Das Früchstück ist sehr reichhaltig, alles in Buffetform. Es gab sogar mehrere lose Teesorten. Wir haben eine Nacht übernachtet und earen mit dem Rad dort. Das Rad konnte sicher in einer Grage verstaut werden. Der Preis ist für unseren Geschmack etwas zu hoch.
