Owner not on site so minimal delay of 15 minutes on arrival. They were shopping for breakfast. Nicely remodelled rooms and facility. Very friendly and asked what time we wanted breakfast. Stephan took care of us. Drove to Salzburg for a tour the next day and enjoyed the night in after supper in Ruhpolding.

Quaint place for a couple days.

Stayed two nights as within 45 minutes of Salzburg and the tour we took. Facility is out of the way though 5 minute drive into Ruhpolding, a quaint pretty town and ski area. Facility lovely as updated and upgraded in the past 2 years. Room was small though comfortable and nicely decorated. Included a kettle, hot plate and utensils. Breakfast when requested and plentiful. Owner Stephan and his wife accommodating, friendly, and helpful. If in the area we’d stay again.

The building is somewhat outdated but the room and common areas were clean and equipment was in good condition. The hosts were nice and attentive to our needs. Tasty but rather basic breakfast. The guesthouse is located by the road with enough private parking space - really convenient, but there is some noise from the traffic. All in all a good value for money - recommended!

We stayed three nights jul 16th thru the 18th of 2018. It was by far the best Hotel experience we had in Germany and Austria. The owner and staff were extremely nice and professional. The 2 room suite reminded me of home. The breakfast was fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about this Hotel.

I was surprised it was only rated three stars. The room was clean, comfortable and perfect for a family of four. The small kitchen had everything we needed. Breakfast was fresh with a good selection of food. The hotel owner was friendly and efficient. Laundry service was reasonable and efficient as well. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel is located within driving distance of several area attractions.

We have been saying in 4 star hotels around Europe for the last week, this little hotel room was a bit smaller but clean comfortable beds, clean bathroom great breakfast. Ok it's a 1km out of town but in my view it's definitely worth the walk and price it's called a 3 star but was better than 4 stars we have stayed in. Well done for punching above your weight. 15/12/2017

Looking forward to our next visit!

Our recent visit in December 2015 was our second visit to Ruhpolding but our first stay at Haus Zeranka. We found the staff very friendly and far more fluent in English than I am in German. They were consistently helpful with everything we needed. We WILL stay there again on our next visit to Ruhpolding.

Stayed at the hotel for a night. It is on the main road to Ruhpolding but it was quiet. The hotel has free parking and is close to the town. We had room number 2 with a great view. You have a balcony and the room is an apartment style.

The breakfast was great. You have a basket of buns, can get eggs or pancakes. There is yogurt and cereals as well as juices. They bring you a plate with cheese slices and a plate with cold meat cuts. Very friendly staff in the hotel. You get a really great value for the price you pay. Just can recommend the hotel to everyone!

Great hotel! Friendliest staff!

Great authentic looking hotel, just on the outskirt of Rufholding. The receptionists/owners were very nice at every stage of our visit. They even helped us order a take out by phoning up the place.

We were lucky to have an upgrade to a room with a terrace, the view was marvelous. Not the most spacious of rooms but it is the standard size for a 3 star hotel. I struggled to find a place were to put my luggage.

Definitely would visit that hotel again!

A nice hotel in lovely town!

It's a nice hotel, with lovely in-room decoration, on the main (but small) road to city center. This small city is a lovely city and we love it. We enjoyed our dinner at a restaurant in the city center which isn't far from the hotel. The only things that disappointed us about our stay here were.... there was no balcony in our room as we saw in the photos of this type of room when we made the reservation, and it's right in front of the reception counter and close to dining room!

Great stay and pleasantly surprised by this hotel for its value. Great service and many unexpected amenities. The hotel staff provides a wonderful breakfast and is very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Only complaint was poor WIFI access in room. Interenet was working great in hotel lobby. Thanks again, highly recommended and a charming mountain village. Best hotel in Central Europe

We had our 25 wedding anniversary tour across central Europe and this hotel are by far the best hotel we check in. The hotel owner and her family was amazing people. They will assist you whatever possible they can. The room are so clean and organize with small kitchen with complete utensil you need for cooking. The breakfast are great as well as they will personally cook the eggs of what you like. The recreation and other facility around the vicinity of Rupholding are free to use as well as the cable car if you check-in to this hotel. The surrounding are very safe and fantastic landscape. Overall, this is the best hotel in Central Europe and highly recommended to all travelers going to Salzburg Austria (about 30 Km away ). The only regret we had is that we had stay only for 2 days. We should have stay a bit longer on this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location, short drive to Salzburg, and there's also a train option. The room comes with a parking pass for the town and free cable car ride up the mountain. We really wished we had more time to explore the area. The room itself was very small for the 4 of us, but the small kitchenette was nice, and the patio was lovely. We had 2 small but full baths, one with a tub, one without. Breakfast was terrific-made to order eggs, crepes along with a meat, cheese plate and fresh bread.

nice hotel-a good base to travel in the area

While the staff was excellent, we found the hotel a little misrepresented from the pictures online-pool and workout areas were off site. The room felt a little crowded for 2 with 2 suitcases. The upper,outdoor seating area was very dirty and we couldn't sit there on a beautiful early evening with a cocktail.

Owner is very helpful & friendly. Location is on main road so could be noisy if you stayed front or side rooms. We had rear facing which was very quiet. Located near mountains and Chiemsee castle. There are microwave, kettle and crockery if you want to cook and eat in.

Wonderful place to stay!

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is very clean and modern and the personnel are very friendly and for British or American travelers they speak English. Each room has a small kitchen area, with microwave, small stove, refridgerator, hot pot..dishes,silverware..etc Rupolding is a beautiful town and you are close to Salzburg. I recommend highly this establishment!

Excellent location with easy access local sites

They stay was excellent and we were greeted warmly by the owners and the room was decorated very nice furnishings and very clean. Very modern bathroom facilities. Each room has a small kitchen with stove and microwave and small refridgerator and amenties. If you have to go to this area then I highly recommend this Gasthaus Zeranka. Also they serve a very nice warm breakfast!

Easy drive to lots of sights

We picked this place because we wanted to visit Salzburg, Herrenchiemsee, the Eagle's Nest, and Berchtesgaden. It was central to all these locations. The hotel is small and onsite parking is tight. No problem when we were there but could be a challenge in the winter. Service was excellent and at breakfast they cooked eggs or crepes to order. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Our only complaint was that we wished they had heavier drapes on the window.

Ich liebe dieses Guest Hof

Hotel was located on a fairly traveled road. However, they had a fan so we were able to shut windows; elimitated the traffic noise. The Host and Hostess were born in Holland, but spoke English fairly well; as well as German, French, Italian and Dutch. The served a very good breakfast which included pancakes, fried eggs and waffles. Most Guest Houses DO NOT seve the last three items in Bavaria.

We requested apartment room because it had two rooms and balcony. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Had to be careful in shower stall because it had a 8\" step down from stall to floor. Beds were large and cozy. Only problem was the heavy cover; NO sheets. However, this sitution was the same in all the Guest Houses we stay at in Bavaria.

The town of Ruhpolding was beautiful. Lots of stores, banks, resturants, bakeries and an information center. Ruhpolding is only 45 minutes away from Hitler's Eagle Nest, Chiemsee Lake & Castle and Salzburg, Austria. Munich was approximately 1 hour 10 minutes away.

We'd stay here again

We in fact stayed here 2 nights on either side of visiting Vienna and Salzburg. Excellent describes our stay. The owners were friendly and relaxed, the rooms were large,well equipped and very clean and the breakfasts were great. Also down in nearby Rupholding there are plenty of places to go for your evening meal. We'd highly recommend Zeranka.

Das Personal an der Rezeption ist mit das Einzige was positiv zu erwähnen ist. Der Zimmerstandard liegt unter dem von Monteurswohnungen. Die Matratzen sind derart durchgelegen das nicht mehr mal mehr als Hängematte durchgehen. Zum glück waren wir (4-köpfige Familie) nur eine Nacht auf Durchreise dort. Bei längerem Aufenthalt wäre es auf ein Storno hinaus gelaufen.

Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal bemüht & freundlich, allerdings täuscht das über den Zustand des Hauses nicht hinweg.

Ganz klar, hier kehrt man kein zweites mal ein.

Unser Zimmer war für vier Personen viel zu klein. Es war eiskalt und dadurch ungemütlich. Wir hatten eine Küchenzeile, da war aber nichts drin. Die Umgebung war schön und ruhig. Man war in nur wenigen Minuten in Ruhpolding. Der Mitarbeiter war mal freundlich und mal ganz schön gestresst. Und das bei so wenigen Gästen. Das Frühstück war klein, was in Ordnung war bei nur zwei Tischen. Aber auf die Nachfrage, ob man noch etwas nachhaben könnte, wurde gesagt, ich wusste nicht das man soviel essen kann. Eine Frechheit. Für zwei Erwachsene, einen Jugendlichen, ein Kind und ein Kleinkind, sind sechs Semmeln nicht viel. Für einen Erwachsenen sollte man schon zwei Semmeln einrechnen. Getränke für die Kinder wurde nicht mal gefragt. Alles zusammen nicht zum empfehlen. Wir gehen nie wieder dahin. Und für das schlechte Erlebnis war es Wucher der Preis. Das Zimmer war nicht sauber. Unter dem Ausziehsofa waren ein Deckel einer Eis Verpackung und ein Schnuller. Beides nicht von uns.

Leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Unser Aufenthalt war enttäuschend. Die Bettlaken auf der Ausziehcouch für die Kinder hatten Flecken und die Kopfkissenbezüge waren so alt, dass man die kaputten Reißverschlüsse nicht mehr schließen konnte. Die Kinder mussten auf halb offenen Kissen schlafen. Die Matratzen im Doppelbett waren so durchgelegen, dass es sich wie eine Hängematte anfühlte – wirklich unangenehm.

Für den günstigen Preis ist es okay, dass alles alt ist, aber es sollte wenigstens funktionieren und sauber sein. Das Waschbecken hatte Risse, die Heizung im Bad ging gar nicht und der kleine Kühlschrank im Zimmer war die ganze Nacht sehr laut. Nachts fiel die Heizung im Zimmer aus, sodass es eiskalt wurde.

Auch für Skifahrer ist das Hotel nicht gut geeignet, da es keinen Skiraum gibt. Die Skischuhe sollten wir im Flur im Eingangsbereich trocknen lassen.

Positiv war nur der sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption, der uns sehr nett empfangen hat. Leider reicht das nicht, um alles andere auszugleichen. Wir können das Hotel leider nicht empfehlen.

Sehr netter Empfang und hilfsbereites Personal. Frühstück ist übig aber kein Buffet, es wird für jeden Tisch extra hergerichtet für zusätzliche wünsche einfach das Personal fragen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, die Möbel sowie die Ausstattung ist im korrekten Zustand und alles funktionstüchtig. Parkplätze liegen direkt vor dem Haus.

Wir hatten ein sauberes, nicht übermäßig großes und zweckmäßiges Zimmer, die Betreiber sind sehr nett. Die Lage ist gut (ca. 1,5 km zum Bahnhof Ruhpolding), die Straße vorm Haus ist viel befahren, aber das ist wohl kaum zu ändern.

Wir waren zu viert in dem kleinen Familienzimmer untergebracht und es gab nix zu meckern! Sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingericht. Es roch angenehm und frisch. Die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich und nicht aufdringlich oder nervig- top! Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück mit allem drum und dran - da hat es ebenfalls an nix gefehlt. Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus. Da kann man beruhigt Urlaub machen.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt da die Betreung sehr freundlich war. Es war sehr sauber in unserem Doppelzimmer.
Was uns fehlte, war eine Einlage im Kleiderschrank um Sachen abzulegen und ein kleiner Kühlschrank

the person at the reception is very kind and friendly and whatever you need, he will attend you promptly and efficiently. The small disadvantage (but not much) is that the equipment of the apartment is the minimum (even sometimes lacking) of cutlery or toilet paper (something embarrassing). Things that only you realize when you need them (and not when checking). But the hotel itself is extraordinary and the breakfast very good. We will return if we have the opportunity. Thank you

Perfekter Ausgangspunkt zur Umgebungserkundung

Nettes kleines und familiäres Hotel unter überdurchschnittlich freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Führung.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden es nicht nur weiter Empfehlen, sondern auch selber wieder kommen. Nur die Straße war leider deutlich zu hören(wir hatten unser Zimmer nach vorne raus).
