This hotel is situated really well. The Bastille area has a lot to offer and is in easy walking distance for most landmarks.
The staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast was just what we needed to set us up for the day.

The Staff at the hotel were excellent and very helpful. The location is great for walking the city and accessing the subway. They held our bag for us when we arrived till our room was ready and after checking out till we headed to the airport. The rooms were adequate in size and clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are updated and have great water pressure and hot water.
The walls are thin and can hear from other rooms or others taking showers. There is coffee in the room and plenty of closet space for belonging.

Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations. Compared to my other experiences with 3 stat hotels, this one was far above others. The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable and the bedding was nice and fluffy. The courtyard facing room was very quiet (try to reserve one). Pride of ownership is evident in the general repair and condition of the property. Neat decor too . The staff were very helpful, especially Allisandra, she was very personable and caring and followed up on our experience with the recommendations made to us. She even found us a way to buy tickets when it appeared none were available.

We were very happy with our stay and recommend Hotel Marais Bastille.

The size of our room was fine with plenty of room for luggage, closet hanging space and counter top space in the bathroom and bedroom. The room was also very clean. The “view” of the courtyard was a view of the three sides of buildings. However, we were mainly in our room to sleep, so a view was not important.

We were glad our room was only one floor up, since we were able to use the stairs except to move our luggage upon arrival and departure. The elevator is very small, accommodating two people or one person and some luggage. When we departed, we had to wait about 10 minutes before the elevator was available. Again, this was not important, but something to be aware of.

We were very happy to find that the stop for Bus 69 that directly serves the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay was very close to the hotel. Our bus journeys were mostly trouble free, but be aware that return service changes in the evening. Our outbound half hour trip became a return trip of two hours one evening, because we had difficulty finding the correct connections.

Two highlights were how quiet our room was and the service from Olivia who runs the breakfast room. Not only was our room quiet, but the neighborhood is quiet at night as well.

Although the breakfast room is very small, the selection is fine, especially the apple cake that Olivia makes herself. She also serves lattes, etc., as part of breakfast. Olivia is a treasure.

The 1st room on the ground floor is not appropriate/ suitable as a guest room. It is next to the hotel kitchen, public toilet and door opens to reception lobby area. Very noisy. Luckily the staff were understanding and gave us another room the following night.

We had a very bad experience during our stay. We got stuck in the elevator for a few minutes and when we rang for help, the hotel staff spoke French and the anxiety of not being able to understand was scary my husband had to pry the doors open and the staff showed zero urgency or concern. Despite clearly explaining the situation, they offered no assistance, no compensation and didn’t even bother to check in afterward.

Being trapped in an elevator is a safety issue, and the complete lack of response from the staff was unacceptable. Emergencies can happen, but how a hotel handles them is what matters — and in this case, they failed.

We got stuck in the elevator which clearly states holds 5 ppl we were 4 ppl. The rude manager didn’t even offer us a coffee for what we went through. She kept saying it’s not our fault. She said this happened last Friday as well. Obviously there’s a problem with it. Overall never going back for reasons of the awful customer service. She was extremely rude.

Old building, mold in shower wall, moisture related damage on shower door. Room has poor nature light which feels depressing.
When I asked for extra towels, she told us no and we would have to pay extra for it.
On the upside, people at the reception are friendly and helpful.

My wife and I recently had a 4 night stay at the Hotel Marais Bastille. It was a very pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable and we loved how the window opened to the street so we could let a nice breeze flow through the room. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The closet had a small fridge and a safe. The common area of the hotel was small and quaint. It’s not a big or busy hotel and you are off seeing the city most of the time so you don’t need all the frills anyway. We opted for the breakfast each day and we were glad to have done so. It had breads, croissants, scrambled eggs, pastries, fruits, jams, yogurts etc and all were delicious, especially the coffee!! The staff was friendly as well. This made for a great home base and the area was central. The metro is across the street and is a great way to get around the city quickly. All in all it was a great stay and we were happy with our choice

Staff were helpful and friendly! Nice entrance and hotel is staffed 24/7. Easily accessible to multiple metro stations. Our room definitely needs updating in terms of wall paper and obvious water damage to the walls and baseboards. They kindly replaced the safe which wasn’t working. They kindly fixed the shower issue. The bed was very comfortable. Can be noisy during the day with the windows open but we slept very well with the ear plugs provided. Excellent boulangeries nearby. We enjoyed discovering the Bastille area.

I like to walk so it took about 15-20 mins to walk to Notre Dame, The Louvre and many restaurants and coffee shops. Having read the reviews before booking, and having looked at the hotel's website and photographs, I was excited to book this hotel to stay with my teenage daughter for her first trip to Paris. Upon arrival, we were given the keys to the smallest, darkest hotel room I have ever stayed in (and I've travelled quite a lot). The view from the bedroom window was just a filthy wall and there was no natural light at all. I strongly considered moving hotels. But I asked whether there were any other rooms available, and was pleased to be able to move to a much larger, lighter room for the second two nights. The staff were efficient and helpful. Good location. But this certainly is not the boutique hotel which it purports to be. I wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't return.

Superb hotel: great professional staff. Excellent value breakfast: sophisticated and plentiful choice. Room larger than many in Paris; good shower, kettle, lots of storage space, decent tv. Bed very comfortable; beautiful new curtains. Great location: 2 bus options from Gare du Nord (91 better than 56) 69 bus near hotel gets you to Chatelet etc Walking distance of Marais. Several supermarches close by and near to Rue Sedaine for a famous cat cafe (do not go Monday: 'repos des chats')

Unfortunately I could smell toast in my room early in the morning.
Anyone else visiting should also be aware that they are doing refurbishment.
There was a lot of banging and drilling after 8am .Probably necessary but too early in the day.

Great location, just a few blocks from Place de la Bastille and the Marais. Easy Metro access as well. Room was no frills but clean and comfy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. When my luggage was lost by the airline, the fellow at the front desk called immediately upon its arrival (at midnight!) and brought it straightaway to my room, knowing that I was anxious to receive it. Great service!

Convenient location. Cute boutique hotel. Nice, good-sized, clean rooms. Because it’s a boutique hotel, very small building and rooms close together. Horrible for anyone who has difficulty walking - small, spiral staircase and super tiny elevator so often have to wait. Shower dangerous - doorless with nothing to hang on to when get it/out shower and water gets everywhere (and we’re young and able-bodied). Would not recommend for seniors. Front desk a bit prickly and not super friendly or helpful, except a woman who sometimes works at the desk. No real amenities to speak of. Website says “laundry services,” which means exorbitant prices to send out laundry; no laundry facilities on-site.

Decent hotel. However the AC unit did not work properly, and it was hot and uncomfortable to sleep. The shower scenario needs help as the glass panel is not enough to keep the water from going everywhere, even onto the carpet right outside the bathroom door. I thought it was a bit pricey but for the most part it was fine and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Great place!

Great location being right next to a Metro stop and the Marais area. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. Stayed on top floor with a cute little balcony and could see Bastille right down street and even the top of the Eiffel Tower. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel Marais Bastille is very clean and well kept, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
It is on a busy street, traffic-wise, so it can get loud at night if you have the balcony window open, as we did.
Not a lot of shops or restaurants near the hotel / right on the street, but the neighborhood just behind the hotel has plenty of everything you would be looking for and is much more pedestrian-friendly.
One other nice thing about this hotel is that the street is wide, so it is easy to get an Uber without feeling like you are holding up traffic.
We found it to be a very nice and very comfortable place to call home-base for the week.

Overall it was a decent place to stay. Room was a little on the smaller side but served it’s purpose. Was a little further away from major tourist spots than I would like it to be but easy access to the rail system. My biggest disappointment was that our travel via the Eurostar from London was cancelled at the last minute due to strikes in France. Something that was completely out of our hands but we still had to pay for the 2 nights we planned on even though we only stayed for 1. They wouldn’t even have a conversation about it.
